Hey, I just got my free year-long XNA kit this morning. You might see something by me out in a month or two! :P

Of course we are being ignored. People have cried for days upon days.

I dont blame anyone though, but still. I'm a bit sad about it myself, but what are you gonna do, eh?

Btw, want some cheese with that whine? i have plenty.

Regardless of who is responsible for what, at the very least we deserve a statement of some sort. Preferably acknowledging the existence of a massive number of bugs, some of them crippling, and stating what Bioware/EA/whoever intends to about it. Even if they intend to never do anything (or are unable to), I would prefer that they come out and tell me that, so that I can go ahead and seek a refund for this game instead of pointlessly keeping it shelved in hopes of an eventual patch.

Honestly, the volume and severity of the bugs in this game is mind-blowing.  How this game could've possibly gone through any significant amount of playtesting without atleast some of these glitches being discovered and corrected, is entirely beyond my comprehension.  I can't believe that a company would release a game in that state, and then even a few months later, still refuse to even give customers the courtesy of a simple statement of some sort regarding the issue.

I repeat, they have made a statement in the general forums.  Follow the link I provided.  Perhaps it wasn't the best place to post it, but they made a statement.

Where is this statement?  All I can find in the general forum is a topic about the RtO DLC and the patch included with it, which stated:

Hello Dragon Age fans

This morning a title update on the Xbox 360 for Dragon Age: Origins was made available in preparation for the release of Return to Ostagar. This title update introduced a previously undetected issue that causes specialization classes to not work correctly in Dragon Age: Origins. We are removing Return to Ostagar from Xbox Live until the issue is resolved and are recommending that you do not download the title update.  If you have already performed the update, we apologize for this and are working hard to ensure a fix is available as soon as possible.

We will provide more information to you when it is available.

This addresses new problems caused by their patch which did not previously exist, but it does not say anything at all about the many severe bugs that have existed in the game since its release.

Also, what link did you provide?  Was it in this topic?  Maybe I'm blind, but I can't seem to find it.

Taiko is right. Xbox 360 support is next to NILL. Dev interaction on this forum is basically NILL. The game is selling well on 360 but not receiving the same level of support. Pretty lame really. Bioware makes some cool games and I have been playing since Baldur's Gate but I'm not feeling so good about supporting this company anymore. They don't seem to give a F about a large portion of their customer base.

I am a huge Bioware fan, and have really enjoyed every game they've put out since Baldur's Gate and MDK2. I think the problem here is that DA was announced as a PC-only game for a long time, and that is still the mentality Bioware has about it. I remember when JE was announced for Xbox only, Bioware placated their fans by saying "We haven't forgotten about PC gamers, we are working on a wonderful game that is just for you", and eventually they announced DA. Since then, it has been ported by some lame company (Edge of Reality) from PC to Xbox, and in the process has lost a lot of the true flavor of the game from a tactical combat perspective. In addition, my guess is that Bioware is responsible for patching the PC version, and that Edge of Reality is probably responsible for patching or porting patches for the Xbox 360 version, hence the delays. While I'm glad to have DA available on the 360, I am disappointed that both the game itself and the QA/support are lacking compared to the PC version.

My best bet is the same, as previously mentioned in this thread, that the Bioware developers can't say much about the X360 version.
Maybe Bioware could give Edge of Reality access to this forum, as they could probably provide more information.
Still, Bioware could show more love to the X360 version. I would personally like to see an official statement if the (community tested) cache clearing solution is ok, or is it better to wait for an official patch.

I feel sorry for you Rubber_Ducky, Bioware has made a lot of great games during the years they've been active. I'd reccomend you checking some of the other's out as well. ;)

I want you to know that I am not ignoring you, and I've actually been concerned about the issues you are talking about here and want to raise their visibility to the rest of the team. I can't promise any shift in priorities, but you do have a voice within BioWare speaking on your behalf (or writing reports on your behalf, at the very least).

I heard Mass Effect is good. Is the console version of that game nerfed as well?

Thanks for your help Victor. I for one have always loved Bioware games, and I know a little about programming. I understand just how complex these things are and am willing to give Bioware a chance to patch it.

Keep up the good work and keep your chin up, not everyone is mad at your guys. :)

Looking forward :)

I have downloaded Kodu 2 days ago and figuring that one out first. Not familar with C#. First steps are done.
My character moves around and reacts when he sees green apples. He will go to apples, collect them and after that each apple gives one point to him . lol- im SOOO pleased :)

But its easier to spent 80pts on better software than on my one :D

Thank you, so much.  It's great to hear that there's some hope for this version of the game.

Appreciate the Bioware feedback. The specialization bug from the Title Update is a big one for me. If possible, I'd love to see a fix come for that even if it is alone. ALL other bugs are minor IMO as they don't affect the story so much.

I can be patient however, luckily I had 4 chars over lvl 20 when RTO and the Title Update came out, so specializing was not an issue for me.

Thanks Victor.

These are distressing, but some of us seem to have found a temporary fix by removing the update.

I'd like to think they are bussy working a patches rather than telling us they are working on patches. Victor Wachter's responce wasn't overly encouraging in this reguard, but at least they know we exist, which is more than can be said for most 360 ports.

If they can't even fix the DEX  bug after nearly three months, do not even bother to post replies in this sub-forum, how confident are you that they will fix anything before Awakening?

Do you want them to send little patches to EA and then to Microsoft to fix each thing as it is reported, or would you rather they fixed a bunch of things at one time? Those are the options, and if I owned an XBox 360, I know which I'd rather see.

You know what I would like to see? A patch that fixes the problems not creates new ones and leaves the game completely butchered. I would really like to see my specializations that I spent 60 hours unlocking for my second playthrough to come back.

Which sometimes isn't the case. Most game companies (even the biggest ones) that implement an online component can't test for every eventuality. In the case of game-breaking bugs, these do happen on occasion to even the best game companies in the world.

I AM a bit disappointed that despite Bioware having had a history of online interactivity (NWN, ME) they'd have learned enough to avoid stuff like this. Given the history of the product itself (DA), I can't say I'm surprised that a game-crushing bug was liable to happen sometime.

Whatever is happening behind the scenes here, I'd rather see a perfected patch over a flawed one anytime.

I do hope this doesn't indicate their level of professionalism when they start asking us to fork over a subscription fee once The Old Repuiblic comes around.

I can't do much right now as i'm working up for a paper, a test, and having to read three or four chapters in different books each night, but I'm very slowly working on one of the ideas I've had for a long time. :P

I put DA:O to wait until the expansion is out and the problems are hopefully solved. DA:O is an excellent game, it has some rough edges, but it actually adds to the gaming experience to have some extra challenge.

I have time to wait too, as Gemini1179 wrote. I fully understand some people are angry while meeting the new bug during the first playthrough. Some of us play with consoles because we've seen the PC stuff a long time ago and love the ease in gaming and the fact we must play games as intended, there are no console commands to help in tricky fights.

What a shame. From what I see, the pc and 360 versions at least, are having similar issues. It's not x-box live's problem. I think it's safe to say this game has more bugs than most people have seen on any other 360 game. Not something I would expect from BioWare, at least not to this extent. It would be wise for them to fix it.

Yea, this is my second play through (the first of which trapped me in the Fade). Now I just can't get a non-corrupted save. I don't want to play this game again. Soooo...how do I go about getting my money back on the bases of I didn't get what I paid for? I'm not a game tester and I'm not getting paid to do so. Old Republic, lol, not after this. Talk about an MMO nightmare in the works: P

I guess you didn't understand the title of this thread. BW does not care about your problems and you will not get a response. If you have a 360 version of the game take it back to the store tell them the game is faulty and is not being patched, and ask for either a refund or swap it for another title. DO NOT settle for a trade in. Tell them the game is full of bugs and unplayable!

Thats what I do, NecroFiend. Youll survive it. Look at me. And its marketing. Everyone gets alarmed if their product isnt in use anymore. And they want to sell us new stuff. To whom if nobody is playing anymore? My DAO rests since 20th december or so. I had short startups just to have a look what changed. Nothing to stay longer than just short on this game. Hey, yes, I like it, but I ran into problems one time too often and there is no gameplay fun available, because you know when the same bugs appear over and over again. So leave it on your shelf, play s.th. else...or have a look to the indiegames section on XBL. Really nice games out there currently.

Excuse me, but that comment is just plain stupid. You buy a game that is released on several platforms you should be able to expect the same quality and service regardless which platform you choose. And putting the game on the shelf, hoping BW will "get alarmed", yeah right. You bought the game thats all they care about. If you dont post here and let them know about the problems you experience they will definitely not do anything to fix the problems that exist.

Whats the point of buying the game and let is rest on a shelf until the game is properly patched? Expecting a patch to fix gamebreaking problems ASAP is not too much to ask for.

Why plain stupid? Sure, they have my money and I got their product. But why the hell I should play DAO to get into all reported bugs over and over again? Thats a complete game killer in my opinion. So if you want to keep the game alive its the best to leave it on the shelf, while keeping your interest on this game up, looking for news on this forum and so on.

I guess, there are no other bugs in DAO as the reported ones over here. So Im just waiting to return to the game after those things got fixed instead of breaking my gamertag today with achievement bugs, pulled and rereleased title updates or as said facing the game killer effects over and over again.

Thats not stupid, thats wise :)
