Not Varric. I don't want Varric as a cameo, because he's the only character I'd like to return as a companion. So a cameo would just make me sad.

There was a bug (that has never been patched) that makes it so Zevran never acknowledges that he was in a relationship with the Warden.  So he always will proposition Hawke or go off with Isabela, if given a chance.

I would prefer something like this not happen with Isabela, since it made me not want to encounter Zevran in games where my imports listed him as the love interest.  I also just don't think it's necessary for Isabela, to shoehorn in another scene like Zevran's in DA2.  And personally, I prefer the card game to going back to the ship in DA:O with Isabela.  So, for me at least, it's not necessary to make her a "conquest" of the PC in DA3.

I thought the bug was fixed. I don't have a playthrough with Zevran romanced, so I didn't know it was still bugged.
I agree that it'd be best to not make the former LI optional sex partners for the new PC, considering the possibility of a new bug like Zevran's.
I agree that it's not necessary to have Isabela as a "conquest" in DA3, though I'd say it wouldn'be OOC if she would try to hook up with the PC, if she's not romanced in DA2.

Like I say in every thread like this: No one.

Not to be a downer or anything, I just thought the cameos hurt DA2 and I would prefer to see a strong new cast of characters. Also keeping up continuity seems to stifle the writing. DA:O was wide and open with the way that any character could die or end up in wildly different circumstances by the end of the game. In DA2 it seemed like they feared that letting stuff like that happen could create a continuity snag in future games and toned it way down, to the detriment of the game.

Come on: just make each new game take place in a new place with cool new characters.

Morrigan,Isabela,Anora,or Tallis. Morrigan because she is one of my favorite characters. Isabela because she's funny and another character I love. Anora because she is awesome in my opinion. Lastyly Tallis, I know a lot of people don't like her but I do, also I want to know what she has to say about what the Qunari are up to and I think she may be in Orlais.

EXCUSE ME. Star Trek Voyager was (and still is) awesome. It's my favourite Trek series by far.
(Though I admittedly was never particularly fond of Janeway. I loved Seven and B'Elanna, though. )

If there has to be a cameo (which I usually end up hating due to corniness/catchphrases/etc...) I wouldn't want any former party member and I am sick to death of Sandal/Bodahn and Wade/Herren as much as I loved all of them originally. Someone who had a small role and room for development would be ideal for me. The first person that comes to mind is Serendipity for some reason. More Serendipity in DA3!

OT:  Leliana. Or Merrill... either could make sense (meeting of the Dales, and Leliana seems to be involved in something very important).  Or Varric.  Flemeth is almost guaranteed. Morrigan would be cool.  Or Isabela.  Fenris too.  And my wife will be PISSED if there is no Alistair. Or... okay, I'm a sucker for cameos.  Sue me.  GIVES ME ALL THE CAMEOS.

There are many characters that I want to meet again, but my top list would be:
1/ Flemeth: Amazing character, surrounded by tons of mysteries. I have a feeling she will definitely appear again in DA:I. No way they would abandon such potential character.
2/ Morrigan: Another amazing character. I like her story, and her development as a person. I really want to know what happened after Witch Hunt's ending.
3/ Leliana or Alistair: They are equally interesting in my book, and I would really love to see them again, for old time sake. Leliana is most likely to appear again, given DA II ending, and the fact that DA:I take place in Olais, her home country. Alistair is not so likely, though I guess it depends on his fate in DA:O.
4/ Varric: The most, and only interesting character in DA II. If there's anyone from DA II that I want to see again, it's him, the only dwarf without beard lol.
5/ Anders: Believe it or not, I actually want to see him again, just so I can kill him again. That emo idiot killed thousand of people (and his reason for that is even more stupidly ridiculous). I wish I could kill him in a more painful way back in DA II.
Also, I want to see some characters from Asunder too, especially Fiona.

I would be happy with a totally new set of characters with perhaps some references made to some previous characters. I am kind of curious about Conner though.
I would have-no problem if Isabella, Morrigan, Flemeth, Varric, Cassandra or Cullen returned in cameos or as companions. I suppose there is a good chance we will see Leliana.
I would NOT want to see Loghain or Anders!!
Characters from Asunder would be interesting.

 I would love to have my best bro Varric back as companion .. Maybe one of the Hawke siblings could make an appearance, considering they aren't dead. Of course the return of Morrigan!!!
