I know about PRR, and it is a pretty good system. But is there a system that does not require any scripts to be overwritten?

Is that because you've already modified the scripts being overwritten?

That, and I like to keep things as simple as possible. I am currently writing my own system that has limited functionality, but I was curious if anyone else had created something similar. Right now I have pick-pocketing reactions working in a Baldur's Gate or Icewind Dale fashion. NPCs simply go hostile if you are detected. Only the NPC involved in the pickpocket though, not anyone else in the faction.
My question remains... does such a system already exist?

I think if one were known then you would have heard back by now. Good luck.

I am in awe of how helpful both of your responses have proven to be. Thank you for answering my question with a question and then stating the obvious.
I also managed to get my own system to do what I wanted, so there is no longer a need.

imagine...

trying to figure it out on your own and finally doing it - but asking for someone else's work before you do...

Congratulations to you all for using insults that equate to the creativity level of a twelve-year old. Seriously, you could have tried to come up with something more creative than the ever-so-common referrals to genitalia. Despite your retorts being extremely clichéd and predictable, go buy yourselves some gold stars, you have earned it!
Go ahead and ignore me. If sarcasm bothers you that much, I can only imagine how you deal with “offline” issues.
I have my thieving system now, and that is all that matters. Yay!

I guess that would be an example of "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all?"

The most peaceable way for you, if you do take a thief, is, to let him show himself what he is and steal out of your company.

So now you have resorted to trying to demonstrate intellect by quoting someone who has been dead for nearly 400 years?
I_Raps, yes, this is an example of such things. Stay tuned though, this thread is getting warmer. :P

Mainly because this board doesn't have a strong moderator presence, I'll just say this on behalf of the rest of the community: Everyone leave the insults out or your posts. If you have something constructive to say, great. Post away, otherwise go clutter up another game community. This community is about helping each other make better stuff.

Just to repent for myself, the OP was openly rude about some open discussion, due to the fact that he did not find the discussion useful. Sometimes trying to help and having that individual complain that it was not enough can be frustrating. These forums arent all we have in life but it is nice when they are appreciative rather than ingrateful...

...and he continues to defend that ingratitude with his own insults. Someone here is being antagonistic and someone is not submitting to that antagonism.

Just sayin
