I put this thread up for the things, that got cut from Arcians Praetor Project, including ideas and huge amount of species he asked me to develop. Most of these species had a minor appearance in the original Praetor, mentioned only by squaddies or news, or perhaps making brief appearance by NPCs.

Here's 3 races of my own from the former Kehenost Imperium, that was ruled by the mantis like kadeci Arcian developed.
Krikizi (The Imperium, Omega Pact)
Homecluster: Morphean Sea
Homesystem: Ryllaki
Homeworld: Vycuss
The krikizi are a semi reptilian centipede like race of natural biotics, who were subdued by kadeci thousands of years ago. Their home planet is rich in eezo, which gives them a rather amazing abilities as natural biotics, making them more powerful than their otherwise physical frailty would suggest.
Before the kadeci arrived, the krikizi were already highly competitive and aggressive race of beings, building settlements and waging wars, always to obtain more eezo which is considered the most important and valued thing on their homeworld. Kadeci were quick to conquer them as their own technology at that time was only considered iron age level. After this the kadeci have turned their homeworld into one of the largest supply depots of eezo in the imperium. The krikizi are also able to sense eezo deposits naturally, which makes them valuable to the kadeci.
The krikizi serve the kadeci willingly, as they gained access to the stars with the arrival of the kadeci and were granted some autonomy and the ability to colonize other worlds. Krikizi have located many eezo rich worlds and inhabited them to mine the precious subtance, both for themselves and the imperium. Kadeci also supply the krikizi with large amounts of red sand as compensation, which the krikizi are drawn to like flies to the honey.
Tolithians (The Imperium, Omega Pact)
Homecluster: Tartarus Pit
Homesystem: Dishmir
Homeworld: Sildhis Prime
An exoskeletal species of wraith like humanoids, the tolithians are known as the brains behind much of the operations inside the kadecis imperium. They are known as a species of master manipulators and behind the scenes players.
Kadeci met the tolithians centuries ago and tried to absorb them to their imperium. Unfortunately for the kadeci the tolithians proved to be more of a match than other species the kadeci had conquered, facing the kadeci with equal might in technology and militarily, using brilliant tactics and bluffs to keep them away from their home terratories.
Kadeci rulers recognized the tolithians power and deviced a pact with the leaders of the tolithian syndicate to rule as equals, sharing the power with them. The pact was made, and today tolithians are the most ”equal” species with the kadeci, lending their superior skills for manipulation, espionage and spying for the imperium. Behind the scenes however the powerplay has never ceased and many contemplate whether its the kadeci or the tolithians who really run the imperium.
Djerro (The Imperium, Omega Pact)
Homecluster: Phrygian Cloud
Homesystem: Askar
Homeworld: Oskanius
Djerro are a semi humanoid, furry simian beings that were once on their way to becoming a starfaring species, when a social class war erupted which completely crushed their society and all their accomplishments and forced them to succumb to a miserable existance in chaos and anarchy, struggling to survive in the galaxy. Kadeci took many of them under their wings, telling them that they would restore them as citizens of the imperium, but in truth these djerro became little more than a slave race inside the imperium.
Djerro live as a subservient species inside the imperium, mostly as hard laborers or doing other menial jobs. Some djerro who are mostly renegades and criminals are also used in gladiatorial matches for the amusement of the kadeci. Many djerro are trained as troops for the imperium, tough the kadeci mostly use them as expendable cannon fodder on the battle fields, to mainly draw enemy fire away.
Many djerro have escaped the grasp of the imperium, either by becoming ruthless survivalist bands, space pirates or if lucky, refugees seeking sanctuary in the concord space.

I created lots of species for the Mulasaani Union, that was ruled by the koala like Iolon, until it got cut. The shekhmu used to one of the main peacekeeper races there, but now they have been changed and are still within the official praetor canon.
Phunbyr (The Union, CATO)
Homecluster: Erinys Cluster
Homesystem: Obaur
Homeworld: Bessos
Phunbyr are a small sapient race of mammalian warthog like creatures from a freezing ice world in the Skyllian Verge. They were living on a technology level similar to that of 20th century of Earth, when the iolon happened to find one of their lauched space exploration probes, made contact with their homeworld and eventually uplifted them.
Phunbyr society is rather bureaucratic and they have a strong work ethic. Phunbyr also like to argue a lot, which they do in their daily politics and meetings with others. Phumbyr are known inside the union as dedicated bureaucrats, lawmakers and advocates and they also run much of the economy of the union, similar to the volus.
Lhamannu (The Union, CATO)
Homecluster: Rhodus Massing
Homesystem: Helaine
Homeworld: Lhamaasi
Lhamannu are a sapient race that evolved from herding animals on their tropical world of Lhamaasi. To the humans they look like a bipedal mix between camels and giraffes, with long elongated necks, bone plated, horned heads and long arms. They are not strong physically, which they compensate with their technology and augmentations.
Their culture used to be nomadic, with large roaming bands that stuck together to avoid predators and navigated by reading the star constellations. Since then a lot of them settled to form tribal states that ruled their world, as the iolon scout ship made contact with them about 1800 years ago.
Lhamannu are good at technology and have deviced many inventions to help their daily lives, like service bots and anti-gravity chairs. Their long past as travellers and knowledge in constellations has also tributed into their work as the Unions interstellar navigation specialists and stellar cartographers. Lhamannu are known for mapping most of the traderoutes throughout the Union space.
Nerapha (The Union, CATO)
Homecluster: Cumulus Cluster
Homesystem: Jomarta
Homeworld: Deleni
When the iolon first established research outpost on the ocean world of Deleni, they had no idea that the planet was already inhabited by a pre-industrial civilization of the manta ray like nerapha. These curious aquatic creatures inhabited the underwater cavernous cities, that the iolon marine research drones happened to disturb and in couple of years means of communication were found with the creatures.
Iolon uplifted the nerapha, giving them technological assistance and augmented them to survive on land inside their modern ”encounter mechs”, which was otherwise impossible for this ocean dwelling species. Nerapha prospered quickly becoming the Unions explorers and scouts, their ships discovering multiple new worlds and eezo sites. They are also known as being excellent starfighter pilots in the Unions defense forces, flying through space as naturally as swimming through their home seas.
Moluve (The Union, CATO)
Homecluster: Elysian Haven
Homesystem: Neluvamu
Homeworld: Maluvoloi
Maluvoloi is a strange world inhabited by bizarre plants, huge insect analogies and is also home to the moluve, a huge, colorful race of caterpillar like aliens. Moluve inhabit the gargantuan pillar like communes that stretch up over their forests to the skies of their homeworld.
Another species uplifted by the iolon in the early years of the Mulasaani Union, the moluve are also one of the most peaceful beings in the galaxy. Their society is ruled by multitude of social rules and rituals that can be downright confusing to other species and like the hanar, they can be excessively polite and humble in their dealings with other species. Moluve are known for their construction skills, demonstrated by their huge commune pillars and lend their expertise around the union space.

These species were part of the Umerian confederacy which was ruled by the fish like, amphibian ecorda. Theyr were allies of the yahg empire.
Fyyaarin (The Confederacy, Omega Pact)
Homecluster: Ophidian Circle
Homesystem: Bryaa
Homeworld: Joruum
Fyyaarin are serpentine species of repto-avians, who are known of their zealotry and ferocity on the battle field. Some human scientists have nicknamed them ”Quetzacoatl” after an old mesoamerican deity, also known as the ”feathered serpent”. A more common deregatory term for them used by humans in military is ”snakebirds”.
Fyaarin body is four meters in length, flexible and snakelike, ending in three prehensive tails that can be used to grasp things. Despite that they have no legs, the fyyaarin can slither quickly through the field and use their strong body muscles and tail to bounce if they wish. They have two feathered talon like hands and a sharp beak like mouth lined with small, razor sharp teeth. The crown of their elongated head it covered in bright feathers, which tend to be longer and more colorful with the males of the species.
Fyyaarin evolved from arboreal predators on their forest filled homeworld of Joruum. They are a rather superstitious bunch of people and build many different religions to worship multiple deities. They have fought countless religious wars in their past, until one ”true religion” was founded by a cabal of many leaders and citizens who wanted change, which took over through slow social manipulation and maneuvering. All the other religions were declared false and the heretics were to be rounded up and given a choice of either joining the followers of the true faith or dying an excruciating death at the hands of the inquisitors.
After many centuries the fyyaarin society has calmed down and organized under the one true faith, which has also become a lot more open minded during its years of rule. They made their way into space, encountering the ecorda during their exploration period. After decades of diplomacy and learning, a pact was forged with the ecorda and other nearby sapients, which in couple of centuries laid the foundations for the Umerian Confederacy.
Today, as members of the Omega Pact, the fyyaarin contribute militarily into the offensive forces. Fyyaarin are fearsome opponents on the battlefield as they still swear oaths and fight for their god of war with a zealot like fervor, going into berserk if wounded too much and launching at the enemy trying to kill them either by strangling them with their snake like body or rending them apart them with their advanced combat talons.
Osvati (The Confederacy, Omega Pact)
Homecluster: Hecatonchires Cluster
Homesystem: Khakion
Homeworld: Nulki
Osvati are a subterranean race of burrowing gastropods(slugs). They have four small eyes of top of eyestalks and two tentacle like feelers on the front of their bodies. They move slowly like snails, secreting slime wherever they go and can sense things through earth vibrations. Despite their looks the osvati are very intelligent beings, known for their planning and organizing skills. This came as necessity on their homeworld as cities and routes had to be planned with care to avoid predatorial beasts, landslides, quake areas and other dangers.
Their homeworld Nulki is a barren planet with a breathable atmosphere. No living thing survives long on the surface tough which is bombarded by small meteors and the scorching rays of their sun. Instead life evolved in the multitude of cavernous networks that run beneath the surface, concealing both subterranean plants, that suck their nourishment from the ground, and lakes filled with life. Osvati were not too technologically advanced, living in an industrial revolution, before their first contact with the ecorda.
Ecorda met the osvati through chance. Their prospector team was looking for new worlds to exploit and was exploring the caverns of Nulki for mining, when a landslide killed half of the prospectors and stranded the rest from the surface. They would have surely died sooner or later if a group of osvati hadnt found them, brought them to their city and nurtured them back to health. The prospector team proved to the osvati that they were intelligent and through crude communication got a team to take them back to the surface. There they signaled their ship and during the following years a peaceful contact was established between the two races. Modern osvati are known as colony planners, strategists and threat analysers in the Omega Pact.
Swamacrans (The Confederacy, Omega Pact)
Homecluster: Laconian Passage
Homesystem: Pirinis
Homeworld: Sangiini
Swamacrans come from world known for its vast marshes filled with giant fungi and mushrooms, that exhume gasses which both warm the planet and make its atmosphere extremely toxic to any aliens who are not wearing rebreathers. As a result swamacrans have to wear rebreathers when they are on other worlds.
They are a race of myconoid people, and some researchers have had hard time to classify them as they show evolutionary signs of both animals and fungi. Swamacrans have a V-shaped head ”fan” with six large milky eyes beneath it and a toothless mouth. Their humanoid body is moist and stretchy, but still very strong.
Swamacran society is based on a rigid class system where children are given their permanent place in society through the genetic background, adabtability and other factors that persists through life. This is usually determined before birth. A workers child will likely be a worker itself and a farmers child will remain as a farmer. Swamacrans are firm believers in this social order that hasnt changed in millenias time, giving them a sort of social harmony. Swamacrans are also a very ecologically aware people and have laws to limit the number of the births, so that their environment will not get tarnished.
Swamacrans were the first species to encounter the ecorda on their way to the stars. They contribute into the confederacys military forces, terraforming projects as well as many galactic programs that aim to conserve the ecology and species of other planets.
