What's the difference between mods available through the Nexus website and the ones available through social.bioware.com ? Eg. is it simply a hosting preference or do the ones here (at social.bioware.com) have Bioware tech approval ? I'm a bit wary of downloading code that's not been verified.

The difference is that the project section of bioware social is not moderated, and as such is full of spam, unrelated amenities, and "requests" posted like they were projects.
To put it down simply, it's prety useless if you want to find anything interesting without having to wade through waves upon waves of crap.

Wow, first post here, and its about mods..I am so predictable (not that anyone would know that...yet :) )

My favorites at the mo..

Of Noble Cast
www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php - Makes the Human Noble Origin seem much better, considering the changes are mostly only small.

Lock Bash
www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php - I love this mod, a real must have.

Kite Shield Texture
www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php - Removes the stretched skin from the Kite Shields, a small thing granted, but it drove me nuts.

Quoted for truth. I feel sorry for any legit modders that post their work in that section. It looks like 4chan invaded the boards.

Bioware really needs a couple of moderators to go through that pile of garbage and nuke everything that doesn't belong (which is about 80% of it)if they want the social site t be taken seriously as a mod source.

The intention behind providing mod space here was good, but like so much of this site it was poorly executed.

I would keep an eye out on this mod.

It has potential. He's thinking out of the box.

Are you collaborating with this person as I see that you have removed your mod...

None of my mods are in collaboration with others. The files are simply deleted.

Plus Nexus has been a long running mod website, being THE place to go for Oblivion mods back in the day. As of such it is very well put together, very clean, very clear, very quick, very trustworthy, and just all around an excelent excelent site!

I find the ratings and comments invaliuble!

Yeah I have been using Nexus since Morrowind and think it is an extremely well done site. It is a shame that the designers of these boards couldn't have spent 15 minutes browsing it to get some ideas on how a mod sit should be done.

Sloth,

heh...ill rephrase....I and others have tried to add tats to the presets via playing with the changemorph.xml file...and they dont appear...

Thats what is most confusing/annoying.....if was that simple, there would be tat packs as presets by now wouldnt there?

Someting is obviously missing somewhere, just be damned what the hell it is....

Hrm, well I have to say I haven't done any DA modding because I am bloody lazy.

As it has been explained to me, tattoos use facial textures, which are not selectable in the CC. You could probably -change- an existing face texture but that would change all faces in the game using that texture.

I admit to not fully comprehending how this explanation can be true, however, since tattoos in the toolset appear to applicable to any texture, even if you g so far as t apply a non-skin texture to the face.

Exactly sloth yeah....its a simple dds file....so why does it work differently? I would use them (hell make my own, have enough on my real body lol) but I really dont want to be messing and changing existing ones, as like you say, it doesnt just change 1 preset tat...it actually changes 4 lol....

So a real pita as far as im concerned, when get new pc built if no one figured it out I might take a look and see if i can suss it :)

Knal,

No mate....mods are installed seperate from the ts...unless it s a toolset dependent mod (like a heead morph etc)...hope that helps.

What happened to the Morrigan mod? When I went to look at it on Nexus the author disabled the files and now the link is gone completely.

DA Redisigned seems to be broken too, I have the files as I DL it a while back. But it didn't come with a readme. Anyone who has it I would appreciate some help on installing It.

It should just be a case of dragging the folders with the character changes you like to the override. Pick and choose each individual morph you like, and use that. Only problem is, I'm not sure where you'd find the screenshots of the changes atm, considering dracomies' has removed the file from viewing for the time being. Maybe someone else can help with that?

It is actions such as these which have caused me to lose interest in this project altogether. What purpose or incentive do I have in working on something when someone is to just take my work away. That is the true reason this project has ended. Actions such as these are disrespectful to those who have dedicated months to give a product to the community.  It discourages the modder..and begs the question..."Why am I wasting my time?"

Be sure to read the disclaimer that you agreed to when you installed the file.

As I think about it, that post before came kind of harsh. I didn't mean it that way. I just have been frustrated that's all.

I understand your frustration. Dragon Age Redesigned must have taken a lot of time and effort. Been trying to download it, but there is no file on your dragon age project page and the Nexus page is invalid. Really wish I could have tried this mod. :/

Hi, I'm new here but i installed morrigan v 15 and DA redesigned b4 it was taken away and I fresh installed Win 7 with out backing up dragon age files ( punches self in the face ) and the file was removed by the time I went to D/L it again .

It was an amazing piece of work, hopefully it might be available again one day as the game just doesn't feel the same with out them.

If no one has any objections, I should be able to upload the Morriagn v15 file - but I don't want to upset anyone. it may be better if people pm me with their email address and I can send it to you

edit: I have been asked not to distribute this file, so at this stage unless the author changes their mind, sorry but I can't forward to anyone.

Does anyone know why it was removed anyway? i personally thought it was well done, used it for a while but didn't like it, i replaced it with "A wild and alluring morrigan"
