Anyhow, if I recall correctly, Lambert is dead too (Cole killed him? Or about to kill him, I can't rmb correctly). So unless there's some kind of dark magic, resurrection, or sth like that involve, I don't think he will appear again. As much as I hate that guy, he was a well written character. I hope they have characters like that in DA:I.
Will Lambert be in DA3? Your opinions please.

Unlikely, but I wouldn't say it's impossible. The end of Asunder makes it rather clear that Cole intends to kill him, but if I've learned anything, no corpse, no death...hell sometimes corpse, no death. I'd say it looks like he won't but he may in some other form.
Very wise outlook, I too share the same opinion. Duncan and lambert are in writers limbo atm. They arnt !00% dead and may decide to bring them back.
Twitterdeaths dont count. If they arnt dead in-game, Theres always a chance.
It apparently counted when Bioware 'twitterkilled' Emily Wong for ME3, so they could replace her with Dianna Allers

Lambert is any where from 40-70% chance. His about to be killed, but he did beat the daemon before, so if he has a good memory and a fast mouth he can survive. As Andy Chambers said 'no body means there half way Mexico'. I take that as a rule of thumb; off screen death= good chance of coming back. Look at Maric.

We saw Duncan die. You collect Duncan's gear in the Ostagar DLC.
Lambert? Maybe. He's not a well-known character so it wouldn't be a vital thing to add him in, but I don't see why they couldn't possibly let him survive.
You collect the sword he stuck in the ogre while killing it. We never find his sweet armor. He can't be dead, he's narrating the ending of the game...
He's only dead until one of the writer will decide he can use him for the story.
Remember in season 7 of buffy (if you watched that show) and giles gets an axe swung at his head and fade to black, and we spend half the season thinking he's dead?
At this point (10 years after the battle od ostagar) any body would be so decomposed, that even if we find his body we couldn't determine it's realy him. The only way I'll we be even remotely convinced is if we meet him in the fade and he's like
"Hi, you don't know me, and this crazy. But I'm Duncan, and I'm dead, maybe?".
It being the fade and all, it still wouldn't make me 100% sure.

Is this one of those characters from those tie-in books that I will never read? Please don't include any of them in the games, whether they were killed in the book or not.

Maric is a special case. everyone, except alistair (who is only mostly just projecting his own insecurities about his abilities as a king), insist he's dead. Noone however can actualy say where, when or how.

You mean people like The Illusive Man, Logain or Ducan?
You don't have to read them, but it can give you more instight into their characters.

What, like Kai-leng? If you didn't read the books (like me) he was just another boss. Hardly diminishing from my gameplay and he's a nice tidbit for those who did read the books.

erm actually has any1 notice the types of darkspawns there are? Genlocks are Dwarfs, magic users are mages, the tall ones are mix of elf and humans. Anyways since darkspawns are dying it's also funny how even tho Duncan "died" he still talks in the story except DA2 but follows the Warden's story. Grey Warden fell without Riordin n Duncan seriously but either they became a darkspawn or just retired cut their hair n changed their name n having kids.
Genlocks are made from dwarves, hurlocks from humans, ogres from qunari and shrieks from elves. That is cannon. Darkspawn emissaries use a special kind of magic that is not connected to the fade, hence genlock (dwarf) emmissaries. Also cannon.
Riordin fell from several hundred feet. Without an assassin creed style haystack, I'm 99% sure he's dead. Someone would've noticed an unconcious warden in a haystack during the clean up...

This is off-topic. You could have opened another thread for it.
About the Darkspawn: I thought so too, but then it wouldn't make sense for there to be genlock emissaries as well.
Besides, Duncan narrating doesn't mean anything.
For Example: in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, the father's main character dies early in the game, but still narrates during the Ending Scenes.

Doesn't mean there won't be Lambert's body walking around with certain someone in control of it.

So what would be the reasons to bring Lambert back? It seems he, like Duncan, played his role in the story already is is thus well-suited to death.
He keeps the scared and less-hardline Templar in check. His involvement in the Order is detrimental to the Mage rebellion or the pro-peace players and serves as a source of conflict.

He will only be alive as a vegatative corpse posessed by some weak ass demon and you can recruit to your castle where he lives only to serve the purpose of letting you kick him in the nuts repeatedly.
