From your screen shots it seems you play either on normal or veteran. Is that true? I find insanity to be very challenging at points, though mostly it leads to staying in cover longer. Though apparently some people here are opposed to having any cover mechanics.

My current playthrough on hardcore only using one power and not using a weapon, I find myself not staying in cover as much as other playthroughs. I might up the difficulty to insanity.

I agree that ME3 is easier. I was asking Von Uber about his ME2 setting.

Sorry. If only ME3 was as hard as ME2.

Yeah on normal for this playthrough. I found hard/insanity just turned people into more bullet sponges; not particularly exciting (and the combat model isn't worth it in my opinion).

The thought of having to really grind my way through Overlord (which is already a grind) on insanity leave me cold (or even Priority Earth, ughhh).

But yes, ME2 is harder than ME3, but in of itself compared to a game like ARMA 3 for example the game is not particularly difficult mechanics wise, as you can quickly work out the most efficient approach and rinse and repeat.

And, of course, if I was playing on insanity and doing the same amount of screenshots, I'd probably still only be half way through ME2 :P

They certainly do. Taking those two to thessia almost made me wish I'd been an adeptshep for my insanity run.

Just an FYI: The Sentinel has all the combo options of the Adept (Throw and Warp) plus it gets Tech Armor and Overload for shield stripping. To me, at least, the Sentinel seems easier (or more powerful) than the Adept on insanity. (or any difficulty, for that matter)

TGI Harrier is very common...along with Havoc and Saboteur. My personal favorite is my Javelin Fury! She does wonders!

I just unlocked my Turian Havoc a few hours ago :D

Yeah, until you find out you can strip shields just as easily by just detonating... something, anything.

So after some RL obligations kept me from getting any ME time for a few weeks, I hopped back into my "make the opposite choice" trilogy run last night.  I had left off immediately post-Virmire, so my frankly mean-spirited renegade femshep felt the need to make the rounds on the Normandy to tell everyone who cared to listen to get over Kaiden dying, and that, as soldiers, we should all be ready to get killed at any moment.  She is trying not to beat the squad over the head with the "you are probably gonna die pretty soon" foreshadowing, but when they respond with cheerful/optimistic comments on their odds for survival it sends Kelly Shep scrambling for a "look - I am going to find a way to get you killed.....SOON" dialog option.

So after trying to rub salt on the squads' wounds for a few minutes the Normandy got called back to the Citadel so that Udina and the Council could do the least surprising thing in the history of the galaxy, and screw over Shep and the Normandy as they bury their heads in the sand regarding Saren & the Reapers.  Shep made some threats hinting at bodily harm for Udina, and decided to sulk for a little while.  Anderson decided he wanted to headbutt some people in the face, so Kelly told him to have at it, and asked him to try to unlock the Normandy's systems during his felony assault spree.  He did, but he took a bullet in the back for his troubles (insert mental image of Mr. Burns saying "eeexxcellent" here).

So the Normandy made a run for it, and later tonight will be visiting a few more random planets before killing some terrorists (and possibly hostages - I am really hoping for a Speed-esque option to "shoot the hostage") on some rocket-equipped asteroid, then heading on to Illos.

I have never found ME2 Insanity difficult, enemies just take longer the kill and their weapons do more damage the higher up the difficulty ladder you go, their AI does not improve at all. I honestly had more trouble dealing with the constantly rolling Marauders than anything in ME2, ME3 enemies such as Geth Primes and Scions are much more difficult to deal with than their ME2 counterparts. If I see a Geth Prime in ME2 I just laugh and activate Adrenaline Rush and take it out, if I see a Geth Prime in ME3 I hide as far back the battlefield as possible.

Also, MP gold isn't any harder than Insanity stats wise, there are a few fundamental differences that make it easier:

1. Shepard is stronger than any MP character, by a large distance

2. You can pause the game and think about what you're going to do next

3. SP Squadmates are more reliable than MP squadmates and will play for the team. Controlling them helps.

3. With the exception of a few missions like the last part of Unusual Scores and the final fight of Priority:Earth, large waves of powerful enemies do not come all at once in SP, it's usually just a small wave of mooks with one powerful boss type enemy at the end.

Soloing the Mirror Match on Insanity with all modifiers on remains the hardest challenge in SP and MP though. The haxing is unreal.

Got the console back up and running after months inactive. Decided to play a multiplayer match, but couldn't do more than one. Couldn't play more singleplayer campaign, either. I'm pretty done with this trilogy. I'll go back and do one more MP match with my trusty old Krogan Sentinel (vanilla, not Warlord), but that's it for me.

I am having a lot of fun with the ME:Infiltrator game on my cell, however (iPhone app). More reason I'm optimistic for ME sans Shepard and Reapers.

Last night I threw a party for those who have helped me along the way and then this morning I assaulted cerberus hq and avenged Thane.  Tonight I will lead the assault to take back earth and I intend to destroy the reapers for good.

Linda Shepard

Here we are on a Geth ship. Here comes the flashlight heads. Bang. Another tin can destroyed. Wow. That one had a lot of oil in it. Damn. Liara and Shepard just took out a bunch of robots in one shot. Nice. Those damn misslies they fire sure have one heck of a targeting system. And what's this? A Geth being used to broadcast the reaper signal? We also learn the Geth took slavery over destruction. Stupid machine. I would die before I become someone's slave. Oh crap. More machines firing at us. And now the Quarians are firing on the ship. Tell me why we're helping them again, Shepard? Whatever. Now I'm in a Geth fighter. Weeeeeee. This is cool. Look ma. No hands.

We head back to Rannoch to rescue Koris and fight more Geth. I have to say, Ashley has some colorful names for the Geth. We run into a lot and realize we have to destroy the jammer to locate Koris. We get to his location and Shepard uses the turret in the shuttle to provide cover fire for the Admiral.

Back on the ship, Traynor mentions that we could end up like the Quarians without a home. Don't think like that Sam. I promise to take her to Vancouver for drinks when this war is over.

I go check on Williams who is lying on the floor drunk. Well now. I should run back to the cabin and get my lipstick and paint a smiley face on her face. Or place a kick me here sign on her back. Come on Linda you can do better than that. I got it. We leave her on an uncharted planet. Could you imagine the look on her face. Some other time.

Back on Rannoch to destroy the base. Again more of the flashlight heads to fight. But that isn't the hard part. It fighting Geth Primes. Damn, they're tough. Glad we got rid of them. Now to destroy the base. What the heck? Its a reaper. Get out of here. I mean right now. Go. Go. Go. Liara and I sit in the ship while Shepard goes up top. Look at that. The Quarians killed the thing. Wrong. Its still alive.

Is that who I think it is? This is destroyer number 692 calling for Harbinger. This Harbinger. Harbinger, sir. I have Shepard in my sights. Destroyer 692. Kill her. If you succeed, you get to be employee of the cycle and will lead the next invasion after this cycle. Sir yes sir. Wow. Lets get it together. She's just a little squishy organic. What can she do to me? Hey stop putting that red light in my eyes. Thats cheating. Have to remember what Harbinger taught us. Shepard is a unique organic not to be taken lightly. Ow. Ow. Stop hitting me with all the rounds. Well it looks like I won't be top employee. I tell her to finish her war. We will be waiting.

Now that was cool. Taking down a reaper on foot. Nice going Shepard. What? Did that Geth just say it wants to upload the reaper code? Haha. We all start laughing, even Liara is laughing. Stupid machine. Shepard tells the Quarians to finish the Geth and this one attacks her. Nice shot Raan. Again, stupid machine. Now we have the Quarians help. Back to the ship and see whats next.

The Normandy heads to the Citadel.

This playthrough is the first time I've had Liara and Ashley together for more than 2 missions together. As I said in my other post, I most likely will use them for the rest of the game.

I think that's what he's doing down there in the port cargo hold; he's not washing his hands all the time, he's trying to catch dinner. I'd like to walk in on him after noticing how empty my fishtank is, and say, "I'm on to you, buddy!"
