I just recently came to the ME universe from Dragon Age and I've completed ME1 & 2 and imported my saves into ME3. I'm currently in the middle of my first ME3 run as a pretty much total paragon. I was pretty much totally devastated to lose Mordin and Thane in fairly quick succession. Many tears were shed. And then last night, Legion sacrificed himself. Sigh. I got everyone out of the suicide mission in ME2 so I'm not used to losing squad mates, particularly squad mates that I liked a lot. I'm guessing it doesn't necessarily get better. I have a hazy idea of what's coming but I don't know details yet. The next few days/weeks should be interesting.

It is definitely a Bioware game though. Tough choices and serious consequences leading to a fair amount of heartbreak. But great PCs and companions to ensure that you stick with it.

I envy you. I wish I was playing ME3 for the first time. Be warned, this thread is full of spoilers.

You may not want to enter this forum until you're done with ME1 & 2. That's why the other forums of exist as well. There aren't separate forums for Spoilers Free.

There's a lot of things that can happen in a playthrough depending on what you do.

Finished playing the Omega DLC, then did an N7 ( Noveria Fighter Base) mission on the way to the Citadel.

It feels weird playing Firebase White SP after playing it on MP for so long. I kept expecting a wave spawn to start and kept looking for those extra hallways.

Today in Mass Effect Tatyana Shepard got the kiss. Fortunately, what happens on Omega stays on Omega. Sam need never know.

She might smack you in the head with her toothbrush if she were to find out

I have literally just started it - got to the coast (a hiatus whilst Brazil vs Chile is on). Like what I see so far, the new design for Lara is much improved I must say.

Also, my computer runs everything on uber-ultra settings, which means it looks pretty good too:

The Bow is personally my favourite weapon of mine in that game, nothing more satisfying than popping heads with an arrow.

Ah, the year of the Bow. What a time for bows in gaming.

Clearer comparison: would be amazing if ME4 incorporated it. Makes the hair so much more alive, am going to be thoroughly dispointed with ME's static meshes now.

TressFX is great. I played Tomb Raider 2013 on PS3 first and recently got it in a Tomb Raider package for PC.

The moment you step out of the cave at the start of the game I just stopped and stared at the hair physics for a full five minutes, twirling the camera around at times.

It is isn't it. Really shows how **** other hair modelling has been (as soon as I turned it on i did the same, spinning her around :D). Ah what people who play solely on consoles miss out on eh.

What can I say? I like my ps3 and will get a ps4 before Inquisition is released.  But you're right. There is a big difference between the console and pc.

Mods is major one. I have the DA games on PS3 but I'm moving them to PC for mods and the controls. I was pleased enough on my PS3 and still love it, but playing DA:O on PC made it feel like a different game. I can't speak for ME though because it's always been PC for me.

Oh i agree, and there is absolutely nothing wrong in having a console. I used to have a PS1 and enjoyed it thoroughly.

Well, a week has passed, and I still haven't gotten to that new ME3 playthrough I was supposed to start. There's just so many factors stopping it from happening;

1. The thought of having to go through the snoozefest that is the Rannoch Arc is terrifying

2. The ridiculously large amount of walking around and talking has finally taken it's toll on me, I've had enough. There's only so many times I can have the same conversations with people. I'm honestly surprised this didn't become a factor earlier tbh, since I've never been a fan of large amounts of talking in games at all. Mass Effect is the only series where I could tolerate it, but even that seems to be changing.

3. The gameplay, as fun as it can be, is starting to become stale and lethargic. I don't know if it's because I've spent so much time playing Titanfall and I'm used to the amount of freedom I am given in that game in terms of movement, but damn, Mass Effect's combat is slow as f**k.

I don't know, maybe it's because I have recently returned to my pre-Mass Effect gaming preferences, namely sports games and MP shooters, where you can just pick up and play a quick 10 minute match and feel satisfied, whereas in something like Mass Effect, if you play for 10 minutes you've done f**k all.

I probably just need a break from the series tbh, I'll eventually get over the issues I listed, except the first one, f**k fighting the Geth, the most boring enemy in the game.

Nostalgia? From this:

:D

I thoroughly approve of this version I have to say.

Also, for ME3:

Compressed which I usually use:

u3hCM90.jpg

Uncompressed with which Excella kills everyones bandwidth ;)

l31EXrU.png

Although the uncompressed ones would be much better to use (especially when clicked on for enlargement to show the high detail) it really bogs this topic down. Also shows the difference in a decent PC version (Tomb Raider) and a crap one, bearing in mind ME3 only looks this good due to no small part the hard work of fans, and nothing do to with Bioware.
