Wanted to check how ME3 looked like in the lowest settings. It's not bad, really. My frames are in the higher 30s to 40s, but they still drop to the higher 20s depending on what's happening on-screen. And yet, I play with TexMods... :wizard: Most PC players would probably shoot themselves if they played at my fps with mods. ;) Don't even ask about how bad the frames are when FRAPS is recording with 2 mods currently running. It's not too bad if FRAPS is on with no mods. It kinda feels like PS3 again.

Dem jagged edges.

The jaggs of death! I personally don't mind it as long as it's not a focal point of the particular scene or camera angel. Jagged edges should be a mod. ;)

It's not overly bad, it's on Kaidan's hands that it's noticeable.

Agreed. The hands are unattractive. Maybe Synthesis will help alleviate that.

Crappy photo taken with my phone, but I just had to capture it. I took a field trip to Aeia to help Jacob, and suddenly, this mad woman comes out of nowhere and her head flies clean off! That neural decay is a b*tch for sure.

Garrus: Now that's a clean headshot!

Grunt: No brains? No mess? Pfft... I thought you were supposed to be good at this, turian.

Lol

I have to say, leaving Ronald Taylor to die at the hands of the crazies is probably the best way to end this mission to me. I used to just take him into custody, but nuts to that. To quote Batman: I'm not going to kill you, but I don't have to save you.

I can't recall any weird graphical glitches in my games, except for Therum, where sections of the terrain were nothing but black squares... but that wasn't an uncommon bug.

As for Ronald Taylor... I always had him arrested in the past but last time I left him a gun.

I've gone with that option before, but I enjoy the creepy music and Ronald's look of despair just before one of the crazy crew attack him.

Both my renegades and paragon-ish Shepards go this route, actually. Feels right for all three of 'em.

I'll try that out next game. Do the rest of the crew still get rescued afterwards? I always liked the e-mail from that one woman who is slowly getting better.

Everyone, save the acting captain, is rescued regardless of what you do.

Jeez. You need a PC upgrade pretty damn quickly me old china.

My framerate never dips below 60 (monitor refresh rate) with the game modded to hell and back. It's really not a taxing game in the slightest.

Lol, only my older brother has a gaming PC laptop, but he doesn't game on it. I'm pretty satisfied with 30 fps, 'cause if you play ME3 on PS3, 30fps is too generous.

Yeah, I really want to upgrade to a nice Laptop (mine's good as it is, but it's more of an all-purpose kit rather than a dedicated gamer), and the 360 especially has a lot of age on it.

Hell, Xbone and PS4 aren't hugely impressive either. And my TV, while still good, is showing a bit of age too. It's a 30 inch Vizio from 2010.

Laptp is all well and good, but you can't beat a desktop. My current PC pisses all over the PS4/Xbone already, and the difference is only ever going to get greater.

Not sure. My PC is 5 years old and I can still max all the settings in most games. I might change graphic card and add a ram stick by the time Inquisition comes out, that's about it. They're keeping processors back (probably to keep PC and consoles balanced), and Intel pretty much has no rivals now. I'll always game on PC though. Can't stay without modding

You give me hope that I won't have to upgrade my rig too much to play DA:I

Hands in DA 2 were something else.

Today shep and crew wrapped things up on Feros. Used FRAPS to take a video of all the interactions with Shiala. FRAPS doesn't have too many settings you can play around with for taking vids of your games, and it saves the file as a basically uncompressed .avi file. At 29.97 FPS, and a resolution of 960x540, an 8:11 video came in at a whopping 3.9 Gb.

Note to self: Find some good video compression software.

Then the crew made quick work of the two missions that crop up after Feros, out in the Maroon Sea. In one you deal with an ExoGeni scientist, and the other three separate bases with husks and a connection to Cerberus. I wondered if the two are connected, because the ExoGeni science team had created docile, servile thorian creepers based on Thorian research. Got me thinking about how even then Cerberus was looking for a method of controlling others.

Anyway, now the crew is on Virmire, just about to land at the Salarian camp. Considering video'ing the conversation with Sovereign. Getting close to the endgame of ME1. I think I'm going to miss the Mako the most. I hated the Mako the first few times I played the game, but it has grown on me and I miss it in the latter two games.

Seriously, for 600 bucks, one can get a laptop with a better processor and more RAM than the PS4 or Xbone.

For 800, one can get a laptop that runs circles around and s**** on either of the "next-gen" consoles, while actually being able to do things other than play video games.

And the price drops quite a fair bit if getting a desktop rig, and it's easy enough just to hook it up to your TV with HDMI.

This is only really compelling if your heart is already set on all the niceties of gaming on a PC in the first place. If all you want to do is hook up a permanent fixture to your entertainment system that allows you to consume media, you may very well be wasting time and money buying a PC to do the job. At the bare minimum, you'd be spending a few hundred more just for better frame rates.

And surf the Internet, use office programmes, music players, massive media storage and playback, photo editing, multitudes of software choices etc. . All of which can be hooked up to your tv if you so wished and not only gives you complete control over what you want to do but also is much cheaper to do so software wise and doesn't require regular monthly payments for the delight of someone insulting your mother.
And, more importantly, can be continously upgraded if you desired for relatively little money.

But hey, consoles suit some people which is fine.
