Well I guess I'll have to make a few non-quick saves on Virmire then :P

My formerly mostly paragon but now tired of all the BS Shep wandered into Noveria and proceeded to get even more annoyed with humanity. Although she did help Gianna bring down Anoleis because that guy was such a jerk to her. Then decided to go all biotic for the Peak 15 part of the mission because she thought Liara should have a chance to interact with her mother (total Paragon where crew is concerned). 2 sentinels and 1 adept at Level 50 are pretty darn destructive. The only really complicated part was getting through the one tunnel on the drive there where they keep shooting all those missiles at you. ( And, no, I didn't drive off the cliff for the fun of it. Thought about it but didn't actually do it :) ) Finally just barreled through with enough armor on the Mako and the machine gun firing to survive and then turned around and killed them all from behind. Good times.

Once in the Peak 15 facility, mayhem ensued. Alien creatures (later determined to be Rachni, shocking) and Geth flying everywhere. She did make the cure for the scientists because the doc caught her in a soft moment but at least she got to kill that Asari "scientist" down there. Once Benezia was taken down, Shep was tired of being attacked by everyone so she took out her ire on the Rachni queen. So, no more Rachni wandering around the Galaxy. At least until ME3, I guess. So now she's off to talk to the council, totally against her better judgement, and then off to save the universe hopefully.

I'm sure the council will totally get behind her now.

I finally got through Thessia and dealt the Kai Lame the ridiculous. Way not to write an encounter Bioware. Stuck it to Liara for her people keeping the beacon a secret from other galactic species. Tsk tsk.

Have a stuck journal entry from Omega because somehow I missed Aria's couch, for the first time ever. Doh. Oh well, she can afford a new one.

Tali and Shepard are together for life, and since I saved both sides in the Quarian/Geth conflict, her people will regain their natural defenses in only a few years. Felt bad for Legion though since he had to sacrifice himself.

Currently at Safe Haven getting ready to wrap things up. The only dead on the memorial board are those caused by forces beyond my control.

I saw Mass Effect 1, 2 and 3 in my Steam catalogue but scrolled past them to play The Walking Dead.

I've been on a ME binge the past couple of days.

Ended up finishing ME1. Collected all the the collectables, cleaned up the rachni problem at the Listening Posts (yet another of Cerberus' botched jobs), shot the guy that The Alliance couldn't formally execute, completed Ilos with Liara and Tali before sacrificing the Council and defeating Sovvy. Got dat Hardcore Achievement.

Shep was an overpowered machine by the end of it. Consistent use of Immunity + Overkill (and the short recharge times) left nothing standing. It was bit hard to adjust to ME2 when the time came, lol.

As for ME2, I've recruited everyone except for Legion. Only Loyalty Quests left are those on The Citadel and Tuchanka.

Investigated the disabled collector ship and confirmed that no matter how nobly TIM presented himself and his stated goals, he really can't be trusted. Tali and Samara were a less effective squad choice for fighting collectors that someone with warp capability would have been. Ended up doing most of the work myself. Er, not that I'm complaining really. I like it that way. Hopefully the next ME game will let us do some solo stuff.

Straight on to the rendezvous with the migrant fleet afterwards, to exonerate Tali and talk to the quarians. Was fun hacking geth on the Alerei. Almost, not quite but almost had a moment of sympathy for the Prime end-boss. At the start he and his forces outnumbered us, but after a few moments, between the hacked geth and our drones, suddenly it was eight-to-one against him. It was all over quickly. Didn't encourage either peace or war with geth, but instead told the admiralty board that I didn't represent one of their people at the trial, I represented one of mine. Tali approved.

Tali, Grunt and I then rescued a lone survivor of a crashed quarian ship from some Varren. I love Grunt. He ran straight at them without even getting in cover. Between Grunt's squad incendiary ammo and shep's incinerate power, we had a massive feast of roast varren to celebrate afterwards. Then Tali and shep finally admitted that the feelings growing between them since rescuing her from Fist's thugs were real. Now I just have to let Liara down easy.

Citadel next I think. Garrus and Thane both have some unfinished business there. Plenty of 'mech hacking opportunities in Garrus' mission. Should be fun.

You could use Save Editor to solo some missions, but missions that require squadmates such as loyalty missions do require that particular squadmate 'cause the game will simeply not continue if no squadmates are present or if the required squadmates are not present.

Finished the "Dead Reaper" and then helped out Legion. I was going to quit, but I pushed on and finished the Collector base off.

Seeing the poor ol' Collector General trying to avert the overload and Harbinger's "You have failed!' scenes are some of my favourite gane scenes ever. Those and seeing the Reapers coming out of dark space.

Ah well. I'll have to import my Shepard to ME3, though I haven't decided if I'll stay with the Engineer theme.

Yep, shep should be the one tailing the turian through the crowds, while Thane is up on the catwalk. That would have been better.

Now that would've been fun. Going through the streets following the turian and krogan.

Maybe if they gave you a choice "the high road or the low road". lol

Well carrying on with Amy took a step closer when I resisted the urge to buy Divinity: Original Sin.

I'll be honest, the problem I am facing is that I know no matter what, it's still going to end in Priority Earth etc. And that just depresses me.

Ah I'll get over it eventually, maybe I binged too much on it.

Anhur Shepard saw the Citadel for the first time in his life today, and he was pretty impressed with it. Here's a log from his iDiary:

a79109.jpg

funny looking Ashley

After we arrived on the Citadel we first met up with one of the more important and powerful human figures: Ambassador Udina. He was just finishing up a call with the Council; we had to get moving towards the Citadel tower. On the way there I spoke to an Asari receptionist called Saphyra (or Saphyria.. not sure) who already knew who I was! I had no idea this would become a recurring thing today... she pointed me towards a VI called Avina with which I had a little chat. Then it was off towards the tower with a cab

First we saw a conversation between what turned out to be the leader of the C-Sec, a Turian, and a C-Sec officer called Garrus, who wanted more time for his investigation:

9d0561.jpg

Well.. that certainly helps exposing Spectres

Then to the Council:

262fda.jpg

Bummer...

Looks like we have to expose saren ourselves. Udina and Anderson (who was very dramatic about Saren btw...) give me the options of going to Harkin or Barla Vonn, I choose to go to both just to be thorough. On the way I run into a Salarian named Chorban who's messing about with the Keepers.. or is investigating them, rather, as it turns out. I decide to help him, but business about Saren is taking priority at the moment. I take the elevator down to the Presidium and then take the Wards Corridor access. On my way towards Chora's Den (after being hopelessly lost and unsuccessfully trying to get directions from a Keeper) there's some woman yelling my name. AGAIN SOMEBODY WHO KNOWS WHO I AM! And she sknows I'm up to some investigating too... damn. She wants me to find  someinformation, I tell her I might give it to her if I do. I hope we run into no more distractions...

Oh God... another one:

43c7f5.jpg

Harmless, right?

I give the poor chum my autograph... sucker says his wife will be proud.

Then finally, after no more distractions: Chora's Den. Before we reach our goal though, there some fuss going on:

8138bf.jpg

What a Krogan!

79497e.jpg

Harkin, to be honest, was quite an ass.

Didn't get much information from him, besides where to find the Turian Garrus we saw earlier, and some talk about Anderson. Before we go to Garrus though, I decide to check up with Barla Vonn. I take a cab to the Wards Access at the Presidium, then cross the bridge towards the Financial District. Again, as per usual, this Barla Vonn guy knows who I am:

c7177a.jpg

This is getting a bit ridiculous, everybody knows who I am.

He tells me to go to C-Sec to find Wrex, the Krogan we saw earlier. I'm liking this, as that guy seemed like a crazy cool bodyguard to have around. So we go there straight away. After some more talk of the Shadow Broker the Volus brought up earlier, we hear that some Quarian is in possession of something that could expose Saren! We have to find this Quarian, and so I agree to kill Fist with Wrex so he'll join the team.

781fd4.jpg

Me and the bodyguard

But we decide to go the Med Clinic first to pick up Garrus as well, then immediatly head for Chora's Den to deal with Fist:

9ac62c.jpg

Dr Michel is looking very concerned...

f2ecac.jpg

Selfie of me agreeing to take Garrus into the team.

Wrex wants to kill #1...

eadf30.jpg

Wrex Wants to Kill #2...

d61e76.jpg

Wrex kills

aa533b.jpg

Selfie, just because I can

Having heard where the Quarian is just before Wrex killed him (thank God!), we immediatly head there to try and save her. We deal with a few weak thugs. After telling her I'm Alliance, she wants to give us the evidence for saving her life and we take her to the Embassy.

 9fcbd1.jpgMe telling Udina what's what.

Evidence turns out to be some recording from a Geth memory core with Saren celebrating the victory of Eden Prime. Damn. And there's some talk of Reapers, an ancient Machine race who whiped out the Protheans. Double damn. This looks a lot like my vision from the beacon!

We take this evidence to the Council:

Oh wait, no, we don't. Someone else knows me and is yelling my name:

30d24f.jpg

Poor man...

I agree to help him, but not now. Council first:

05d96b.jpg

Me telling the Council what's what

78f771.jpg

Me, diplomatically pushing for a Spectre position.

385935.jpg

Got it!

The ambassor and captain are waiting for me now at the Alliance docks. Not going there though, first it's time to explore the Citadel. I have Keepers to scan, a man with a dead wife I need to help, a disc I found at Fist to deliver to Emily Wong and I'm positive I'll run into more people who want stuff from me.

And maybe I'll get a drink.

TL:DR: Anhur Shepard became a Spectre.

I'm in the exact same boat. I get home, boot up the PC, check Steam, look at Divinity: OS, consider paying full price, close Steam, load up texmod for ME2/ME3.

I've never played around that much with the save editor in ME2. Changing classes and adding credits or resources is about it. It's not a big deal, but I would like to see some solo missions that are designed to be solo missions, like Arrival... only better.

I don't think the game allows you to bring them on Arrival though. I think it'll just send you into a blackscreen and then you'll have to restart ME2 unless you enabled your in-game command console, in this case, you would type down open entrymenu to return back to the title screen.

One thing which has struck me in retrospect is how awful ME (all of them) is at mods etc (with ME2 being the worst). You compare the modifications you can do to Skyrim, for example, to ME and it really shows. The sad thing is that opening the game up to modders extends the life of the game and probably encourages more sales in the long run. Ho hum.

This is probably why, instead of meeting Liara on the citadel before rescuiing scientists, I am doing this:

wUZkDJl.jpg

CkLsqA9.jpg

What makes it even more amusing, was to set up that shot I was actually in mid air..

ke563Z8.jpg

Bioware, please take note.. (ha, as if they will!)

Oh, and before you ask i am trying out all the awesomely inpractical armour you can find on the nexus.. most of it seems to be two bits of string and a 10cm square piece of cloth... in fact much like Jack's outfit.

Yes indeed. I note that the new SIMS already has Premium membership with exclusive bollocks before it's even been released.

This is always amusing:

I was having a somewhat creative moment :P

Most of my posts aren't (and won't) be this long. It took me a long time to write it all up

But as I was playing and taking screenshots it occured to me just how many people you can talk to on the Citadel who already know who you are. Like, pretty much everybody I spoke to so far except Chorban (the Keeper guy). Not sure if Harkin knows who Shepard is, though he immediatly identifies you as Alliance and Anderson's goonies, which I suppose is obvious in some way.

I figured I'd write up a journal entry for it :P

And I'll run into more of these when I've finished my round on the Citadel, I'm sure.

Busy day in the 'verse. Did four loyalty missions, beginning with Thane's. That's the one I was looking forward to the least, so I got it out of the way first. At least I got to beat up Elias Kelham. Paragon'd it the rest of the way. Oh, except for punching that worker up on the catwalk in the stomach.

Garrus was up next and I paragon'd that one too, not letting him shoot Sidonis. Was a fun mission. Hacked a lot of 'mechs and watched them blow eachother up. Using Neural Shock for a BP and it was all too easy to set-up Harkin's mooks as headshot targets for Garrus and Zaeed. Was able to headshot one of the three heavy 'mechs but arsehole Zaeed blew up the other two before I could make them go nuclear. That's the last mission he goes on. He can sit down in the starboard cargo bay and play with his rifle from now on.

After that it was off to Tuchanka. Took Tali along on Mordin's LM. She didn't have too much to say, except for that one line when we found the Urdnot scout. I was hoping that I forgot a line or two between her and Wrex, but there were none. Too bad. All those conversations with Mordin, and his moral dilemma... great stuff, and of course I took a play from Zaeed's book of exploding things and lit the Gatatog speaker on fire. Didn't let Mordin shoot Maelon, and kept the cure data.

Grunt's rite of passage was up next, and none of the krogans took any special notice of Garrus being there. Grunt just loves to charge into battle. He ran at everything that was coming towards us... except the thresher maw. I had to chase after him all the time to keep him from getting swarmed by Varren. Used the Cain on the thresher maw. It's about the only time I use the Cain, since it's the only time it doesn't feel like overkill, well, maybe the proto-reaper. Never tried that. Shattered Uvenk into a million pieces with a cryo blast. Headbutted him, too. Clan Urdnot likes me.

Only LM's left now are Samara's and Jacob's. Not counting Legion, since I'm a long way from going after the reaper IFF. I'm thinking of doing LotSB after these last two LM's. I want to retrain everybody's powers, and finish things with Liara. Seems like the right thing to do before the suicide mission.

If you haven't already, you should try the paragon route on Garrus' loyalty missions, but still let him take the shot in the end.

Sidonis will thank you for letting Garrus kill him.

Well crap.

It's too far back now. Much as I like the krogan, I'm not going to redo Grunt's and Mordin's missions until my next playthrough. I'll let Garrus shoot him then.

After Sanctuary and all the remaining side-missions, I left the Normandy in the hand of my second in command (whoever he or she may be) and went to Omega with Aria. Today I´ll reach the Talon post, liberate Omega from Cerberus, and with luck, attempt to locate Leviathan.
