So tonight I did an Asari heavy update; sure to go down well here:

I may be alone in the world but I like this mission. the inter-play between Javik and Liara as her world view of the Asari is destroyed, seeing a side of the Asari not really seen and listening to the deaths of the commandos over the radio. I also like the post mission character developement for Liara.
It's only marred by:
1) Kai Lengs ridiculous cutscene badassness
2) The lack of being able to console Liara as her love inerest (Give her a hug? No! Type on a keyboard instead!)
3) Kai Leng in general
Oh and I really have to stop biotic punching Banshees.
Started a new trilogy playthrough. Finished Eden Prime and discovered a new cutscene I had never seen before in all my playthroughs. 365 hours in ME1 and I'd never seen it. It wasn't all that amazing of a scene in itself, but the realization that even after all that time I could still discover "new" things in this game blew me away. That's what I really love about this series.
A few shots that didn't make the cut but I still quite like:

The Thessia mission is definitely the emotional low-point of ME3 (perhaps outside the endings, depending on your opinion of such things.) But yeah, I love it for that reason. It's the Empire Strikes Back of ME3, its that dark, deep pit of despair that a good second act is, which sets up for the triumphant victory of Act III (again, whether the endings delivered on that or not is a whole other topic, that I daresay has been debated to death on these very forums.)
What did I do today? Travelled to the biggest cesspool in the galaxy (excluding the Citadel), Omega. Apparently, some kind fo plague is ravaging the lower levels. Took care of that, but surprise surprise, the Collectors were involved. Interesting how things dovetail, isn't it? After taking care of that, Mordin Solus was happy to join the crew. I think he'll be valuable, he's already applied a number of upgrades to weapons, gear, and equipment based on information I'd recovered previously. Looks like I need to go back to Omega and get those Mercs off Archangel. Hopefully he lives up to all the hype.

re: Archangel's basement: I especially hate that mission on insanity. Did it once (well twice, since I gave up the first time on the Collector ship) but no more!
Let's see....anti-social Shepard didn't let Balak escape, but she didn't kill him either. After a few random Mako trips, she finally directed the Normandy to the Artemis Tau Cluster, in search of Dr. T'soni. After destroying yet more geth, she finally found the good doctor floating in Prothean space goo, or something like that. Released her, killed more geth, and outran a volcano. All in a day's work.
Arrived on Omega and recruited Zaeed. I like Zaeed, wish you could actually have a conversation with him. Same with Kasumi, but oh well. Watched an asari dancer for awhile in Afterlife before meeting Aria. I'm not one of her dogs. She can wait. Had a couple drinks too. Exposed a batarian bartender as a murderer, and watched a turian shoot him. Met Patriarch. Can't talk to Aria about him though. Pretty sure I could take her in a fight.
Recruited Mordin. Before entering the quarantine zone I went shopping, and helped a quarian kid leave Omega to continue his pilgrimage. Wanted to punch the mad prophet in the face. Couldn't. Damn. On the way to Mordin's I helped a batarian who was dying, stopped some looters from looting, rescued some other people. Shooting the tanks of those vorcha pyros is fun, heh.
Haven't talked to Mordin on the Normandy yet, but I'm about to. Hope I can keep up with the conversation. His mouth moves faster than a frog on a hot rock... oh wait, I haven't heard that yet.
Steered the asteroid into the Alpha relay successfully. I'd imagine this will unlock more dialogue options with Balak in ME3?
Anyway escaped vancuover without Anderson. Those bits of "an end once & for all" give me chills every time I hear em. Onto Mars now..
Got Wrex's family armor
How do you take those pictures?
Having just finished the Archangel mission (insanity, Sentinel) I can say with authority that he does not. What kind of dufus pisses off all the major organized crime groups in the Terminus systems without an exit strategy? When I was down in the basement dealing with the Blood Pack and Garrus started hollering about how they were getting to be too much too handle I was seriously tempted to say "screw it, after we finish off this wave we are leaving. Archangel thinks he's so bad ass he can take on all these guys, let him." (Seriously, every time I go down to the basement I become majorly pissed at Garrus for expecting me to pull his butt out this mess he made for himself.)
The way i see it, Garrus wasn't planning on surviving. After his whole squad died, i think he is filled with guilt and prefers to die battling them as long as he can. But when Shepard shows up to save his ass, he sees not only an opportunity to help his best friend, but also to find back Sedonis and have his revenge.
Talked to some squadmates. Ashley told me about her family. Tali is mad because I didn't give her the stuff for her pilgrimage. Garrus gave me the Dr. Saleon mission.
Some ME1 side missions...
- Helped Garrus to kill Dr. Saleon (paragonized Garrus...it doesn't matter in ME2, of course)
- Convinced Corporal Toombs to let the scientist stand trial
- "The Lost Freighter" and "Colony of the Dead"
Mass Effect 1 is my favorite game of the trilogy, but the squadmate dialogue definitely improved as the series progressed. All the alien squaddies were to varying degrees walking encyclopedias (Garrus was a bit better, Tali by far the worst) and ME1 Kaidan makes Jacob look interesting. Ashley was ok, but I never found her very likable.
So, turns out this Archangel character was none other than Garrus Frelling Vakarian. (I'm pretty sure that's not actually his middle name. Do turians have middle names? Have to ask about that. Maybe check Codex. Damn, talking like Mordin. Salarian rubbing off. Stop it!) Never thought Garrus would get himself into a spot quite that tight. Thankfully, Miranda and Mordin can more than handle themselves in a fight. Solus is downright scary when the bullets start firing. He just. . . goes cold. Or maybe lets people see just how cold he really is all the time. Never thought I'd characterize a salarian as "spooky," but that's exactly what he is. Glad he's on my side. And Archangel -- when did Garrus pick up a flair for the dramatic? He always seemed so practical. Still, nice to have a familiar face on the crew. Well, half of one. He got beat up pretty bad in that furball with the mercs, but he's holding on. Never knew turians were so tough. Or maybe its just Garrus. Lots of people attribute things to humanity based on me, and I only wish more humans were really like that.
Finally out of that cesspool. Though next stop is the Citadel, so I'm not exactly sure its an improvement.
Yeah, not so much. Because we're a private ship, technically, not an Alliance vessel, we got routed to the "low-priority" docks in Zakera Ward. Heh. "Low-priority." If they only knew.
Things on the Citadel are definitely different. The new transit system is a vast improvement, but things seem. . . edgier. Maybe its just the aftermath of Sovereign's attack. Maybe it's like the tense, energized air right before a major storm. The markets are nice, but I really hope the managers don't start comparing notes too closely. If they find out that every shop in Zakera Ward is "my favorite store on the Citadel," well. . . I don't think they'll find it quite as funny as I do.
Met with the Council again. I definitely made the right call endorsing Anderson. Udina's slime, but he's talented slime. He knows Anderson needs his help to succeed, so he gives it. More than I would have expected. But I think Anderson is giving Udina too much leash. Like sending him to all those "boring diplomatic functions." Anderson should know that if he really wants to be effective, he needs to be hands-on and keep his ear to the ground. Not bothering to hobnob means that Udina's the one out there rubbing elbows and shaking hands. I have a bad feeling that if Anderson doesn't get on the ball, Udina's going to steal the Council seat out from under him within a year.
As for the Council? Still about as useful as screen doors in an airlock. "Reapers. We have dismissed this claim." Well, thank you very much. Remind me not to stick my neck out the next time you're all about to die. At least they reinstated my Spectre status, but I get the impression they didn't really have a whole lot of choice. Spectre is more or less a lifetime appointment, unless you really screw up. Say, by bringing an army of geth led by an ancient omnicidal AI ship to attack the Citadel and usher in the extinction of all life in the galaxy. Just spending a year or two dead isn't enough to actually revoke the title, and doing so without really good grounds would be politically -- what's the word Udina used -- inconvenient. Especially after all the hoops we jumped through to get the Council to revoke Saren's status. The more I think about it, the more I think they just didn't dare try and tell me I'm not a Spectre anymore.
Met another interesting character on the Citadel. Willowy little woman named Kasumi, supposed to be one of the best thieves around. She reminds me of Tali a little. She's. . . interesting. What's she hiding under that hood? I'd like to find out, but I really get the sense her heart's somewhere else. I know the feeling.
I miss Ash. Miranda and Jacob are certainly capable, and it's great having Garrus back, but Ash. . . nevermind. According to Anderson, she's been promoted, and is off on some secret mission or other. He won't say what. I hope she's alright. I'm half hoping and half dreading bumping into her. I'd love to see her again, but I have no idea what I'd say.
The more I walk around, the more I like this new Normandy. The old one sure seemed cutting-edge at the time, but the design flaws are becoming more and more apparent the more I get to know the Cerberus reboot. The original Normandy was small and cramped, felt like we were packed in like sardines. Par for the course, maybe, on most Alliance vessels. But here. . . people, for the most part, actually seem to have their own space. My cabin is huge. Not used to having so much space. And a fish tank! Not sure I'm going to put anything in it, though. I'm terrible at remembering to feed them. Overall, the larger design means more space, more crew. . . she feels like a real warship now, not a glorified shuttle or fast transport. She's missing a main gun, but I'm sure Garrus will have an idea or two about that before long.
Not sure where I'm going next. Think I might help Kasumi with that greybox thing, just to get it out of the way. Mordin's working, but we really can't move forward until he has some kind of breakthrough. I'm a little concerned that he's talking about curing Joker and varren STDs (ew) and not Collector swarms, but I get the sense he keeps three or four projects going at once, minimum. Working on one is his version of R&R from the others. Tackling a new problem lets his mind unwind from another problem, and attack it fresh a full four or even five minutes later. He'll come through. God, I hope he'll come through.
How do you take those pictures?
I assume that's at me
I'm playing on PC; I have to run origin client through steam as origin has no screenshot function.
A lot of the shots are taken using freecam to pause and move the camera and turn the ui turned off.
Graphically, due to the paucity of in game options I've edited the .ini file to force more detailed textures, lighting and shadows where possible. I also force high levels of anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering through the nvidia control panel.
Just wanted to add to your response: There's an excellent guide to taking screenshots on the old BSN. Here's a link to it.
My Shepard was kicking butt in the Armax Arsenal Arena with Grunt and Wrex
. I really enjoy that addition to the Citadel DLC.

Yeah, I used that guide to set up the free cam.
Today I helped a whingeing Aussie with a fat arse get over some father issues. In Mass Effect, I did this:

Annoyingly enough I wanted to take some more Miranda shots, but the scene bugged out; I lost all dialogue, the music kept looping and the camera went and did it's own thing. Shame really.
Yeah, I used that guide to set up the free cam.
I figured that, my post was intended more for SNascimento and anyone else who was curious exactly how you did your screenshots. ![]()
What I really don't understand about that scene is the weapon selection. Garrus and Tali enter with their weapons (Javelin and Raider) yet I switch back to the default pistol.
Most strange.

Another perspective on the Brute fight which was a lot of fun:

And another perspective of the hostage scene, which taking it helped break it:

Recruited Garrus after making sure Not-Jenkins didn't join the fight. Along the way, I also sabotaged a heavy 'mech and tased a batarian mechanic. Some renegade interrupts are too tasty to pass up. Without a sniper rifle I had to get right into the middle of things to use my biotics, but it was fun killing all those mercs.
Recovered a prototype hovercraft and took my new toy for a jaunt around a few different planets. Thought it was going to come apart everytime I bumped into something. Note to self: Hammerhead doesn't do well in acid lakes or cold temperatures.
Off to the citadel now. Anderson has been waiting to talk to me long enough. TIM sent me a dossier on a master thief as well. If things don't work out with her, I'll leave the keys to the hammerhead somewhere conspicuous.
