Before helping Quitter, I got more dope from my dealer and more booze from the bar. Quitter mentions Harkin. Ah yes. The piece of garbage who called me princess. Glad I brought my machete. Look at him run. Run rabbit run. Fight threw his buckets of bolts and mercs. Here come very big buckets of bolts. Now they're big buckets of scrap. Quitter gets the information from that he needs, but I want payback

Quitter gets his revenge. Good. I got tired of his whining. We head to the Omega-4 relay. Lets see. Haven't listen to any music lately. Back on Earth Cool.

 

That sucks. The tin can was destroyed when we came through the relay. Quitter leads the team while hoodie crawls in the vent. That just sucks. Hoodie has another hole in her head. Yep. Stealing and shooting don't mix. I have motormouth escort Dr.Phil and Mama back to the Normandy while Underwear maintains the barrier. Quitter will continue to lead the 2nd team. Tats stop playing with the swarmers. I guess she didn't want to help with the rest of the mission.

 

I leave Quitter, Junior and Zaeed to hold the backdoor while I take Underwear and Dollface to where the tubes lead to. Its a terminator. How about that? We fight it. Destroy it. What was that?

Ok. base goes boom. We roast marshmellows in celebration. Only 4 dead. I was hoping for more death. I'm sure there will be a next time. For now, I will checkout this friend of Hackett's. Something about the giant hands. I head to my cabin. Snort some dope, drink some booze and take a nap.

I sneak around a Batarian prison for this Kenson person. Now we fight through the 4 eyes. She wants to send an asteroid into a relay preventing the hands from getting into the galaxy. Ok. I'm game.  Anything that will destroy a system, I can do. What system should we destroy after this one? Hold on. I don't want to get ahead of myself. They have a hand artifact. Not good. Thats what I thought. Her and the circus want to kill me. Sure. Why not? So I kill a lot of the clowns and then something make me feel lig--. My head hurts. Its time to go into evil mode. Flamethrower. Front and center. Lets go make some toast. Toast all the clowns including Queen clown. I need to get off this rock

Cheif Hand: Commander. You really are a pain in the neck.

Cruella: From where I'm standing, I would look more like a pain in the knuckle.

Cheif Hand: Your petty words don't amuse me. You can destroy all the relays you want, but it won't stop me from harvesting your species to get all the hand lotion.

Cruella: You know what? The other hand that was destroyed a couple of years ago, talked sh*t like you. Remember. I know your weakness. And pretty soon everyone else in the galaxy will know as well.

shep, Miranda and Mordin killed Jedore and her tankbred krogan. Got to wondering, instead of wasting the tankbred on some moronic Blue Suns merc with delusions of grandeur, what if Okeer took his army of krogan rejects for himself, and decided to take his new army and become leader of the krogan. Or, if not that, then conquer someplace else, like Omega. 

 

Anyway, Grunt and shep had a little conversation afterwards. Grunt got a little uppity, so shep had to shoot him five or six times. He just kinda shrugged it off and said, "I'll go where you go and knock some heads on the way there. Got anything to eat?"  Dayum.

 

Grunt and Mordin accompanied shep to the next destination: Purgatory. shep used her spectre status, and Grunt's sheer intimidating bulk to get them all free drinks for the night. Grunt ate a lamp... and a volus. Silly Grunt thought no one would notice. Mordin turned his omnitool into a microphone and sang karaoke all night. By himself. The dancers loved him though, and danced to whatever he was singing. When he started on Gilbert and Sullivan, a bouncer threw him out into an alleyway.  shep... got drunk, and woke up back on Omega, on Aria's couch.

 

Oh wait.... Damn.... Wrong Purgatory. 

 

shep, Mordin and Grunt went to Purgatory to recruit a bad-ass biotic named Jack next. Wish I could have seen her actually carve out that path of destruction she left us to follow.

 

The warden tried to intimidate Grunt. 

 

 

 

Jack signed on with the gang once she realized we had the only ride off the prison... and shep agreed to let her snoop around the Cerberus databanks. Turns out Jack is a more interesting person than she first appears to be... and that's saying something. As first impressions go, she's got one of the best. 

 

Next Grunt and shep brought Zaeed along to find archangel. Zaeed's bum knee seizes up on him if he doesn't get into a sustained firefight a couple times a week, so... before the real action even started shep got to stab a batarian in the back, so she already considered the mission a success. She should have known Garrus was archangel. She always kinda knew he'd end up perched somewhere on the high ground, sniping everything that moved. He was always wound kinda tight. He took a rocket-blast to the face this time though, so shep cut him some slack. 

 

TIM had a tip for us that Horizon would soon be attacked. He decided not to give us any back-up against an enemy that could snap-freeze thousands of people in a very short time. Mordin told us not to worry, and just to make sure he wasn't some kind of practical joker, shep and Garrus took him planetside with them. Just found that whiny mechanic and decided they better try and get the defense cannons he told them about operational. Maybe they could scare off the collectors. 

 

And that's where i am right now. Still haven't done any other side missions yet. ME2 moves pretty fast when you don't get bogged down by the little stuff.

Shrugs off bullets right out of the tank, but dies by a bullet on the Collector Base? No way! Poor writing by Biovare.

Started a new Mass Effect 1 playthrough with MEUITM HD mod and downsampling.
ME1 can look pretty good :-)

Yeah, with the mods it looks about as good as it did on the 360. I really don't know why they didn't put the effort into the graphics on the PC version. The maxed out PC version looks horrible without the mods. Mako control is still horrid on the other hand. At least you can take screenshots on the PC.

I was heading to Omega to help Samara find her wayward, succubus daughter but then I decided to do some mineral scanning and Lo & Behold I found this Blue Suns base. So instead of worrying about the Collectors, the Reapers and my various team members, I went on an old-fashioned merc hunt! Thane, Grunt and I had a great time killing a bunch of Blue Suns in as many unpleasant ways as we could think of. And then we found some information that pointed us towards some additional Blue Sun members who were hanging out on a ship. So we took care of them too. Apparently the Blue Suns have been ambushing ships using a fake distress beacon from one of their bases. We got the coordinates but since I'm in Omega's cluster I really should take care of Samara's problem child first.

 

I'll get those Blue Suns in a bit. Back to saving the galaxy.

Saved Feros from a mind controlling plant, I saved Feros, not the colonists

I used a renegade option but I received paragon points, not cool, Shepard, not cool 

Went to two different systems to take out the bosses of a major crimering, took care of the problem the hard way

I ignored an Admiral who doesn't know I have to save the entire galaxy, I don't waist my time shutting down a rogue VI, I only shut down rogue Spectres 
Solved a dispute between a jellyfish and an officer

Helped out an Asari consort

I searched an option for starting a fight with Harkin, I failed to find one

Talked to a Alliance major, cultleader of biotic cultist in his spare time, situation was solved in an efficient manner

I really liked X-Com. Totally got into the feel of the game. Haven't played it again with the new DLC yet, but it's on my to-do list. Trouble is, it's a long list.

But the feeling of being at war is so much stronger in ironman. One screw up and you lose a man or two.. forever.

Nadia did a took a side trip to investigate a Cerberus lab for Hackett where they were studying reaper tech. There were two samples there, and Cerberus troops showed up in force. Garrus and Javik were with me as we dismantled the troops and took the tech back to the Alliance.

 

Then it was off to investigate what happened to the Krogan scouts Wrex sent to check on the rachni relay. I ran into Grunt. Grunt. He's gotten bigger. I didn't think it was possible. Javik said the Krogan had been careless and overconfident. He was right. We went into the cavern and found reaper tech all over the place. When we finally found the central chamber, Javik commented that this wasn't a rachni nest. So the queen started talking and explained that she'd been imprisoned by the reapers. That she hates the reapers, and they cannot control her, and she'll fight for us. So I let her go free. Grunt held the line. I thought he gave his life. (With good writing he should have - IMO this should have been a choice.) "Shepard, got something to eat?"
