In shep's favorite epic underestimation on the citadel, Joker once called TIM a little "control-freaky" . shep wasn't surprised to learn that the turians didn't take down the collector ship at all. The collectors set a trap, TIM didn't tell the gang that he knew about it when he sent them off to investigate. shep was pretty sure TIM's intention was to remind her who signs her paychecks. That sneaky bastard.
Unfortunately, she was too distracted by the shininess of her new M-98 Widow to notice the trap until it was too late. While Samara, Miranda and EDI blah-blah-blah'd about protheans and collectors, shep adjusted the rifle's scope. That's when she noticed the floating platform in the distance, and it was carrying some collectors, and they looked pissed -- as far as shep could tell, anyway. Crap.
shep discovered that the Widow is an efficient model of dispatching anything she aimed it at. Especially when combine with an adrenaline rush and aimed at scions and Harby-puppets. Note: Talk to somebody, somewhere about improving the clip size on this beast. Looks like there's room to add a couple shots per reload in there.
The collector ship is such a good mission. The music is epic, the atmosphere is satisfyingly creepy, and I really enjoy that whole prothean-collector reveal. Sure wish we could have seen the collectors in ME3 (SP that is). Would have been kinda cool to see Javik get rattled, just once. Also I hate husks love to shotgun-blast the legs off husks. Because I've rushed through the game so far, neither Miri nor Samara had any area-effect effects to their powers, so the clearing-out-the-collectors-and-husks portion of the mission had a lot more shooting in it this time around. Kinda miss my drones from last game.
