Again tried to squeeze the most out of the game engine, it still looks ok now. Doesn't look like it but had quite a mix of squadmates but tended to end up with Tali and Liara by the end.

Wandered around the Cerberus facility on Aite destroying video monitors.

Oh yeah, I also stopped a rouge AI from causing a technological apoccolypse.

@ von uber. Your Alice Shepard looks almost identical to one of mine. I'd show you a pic but  she was taken out by a hard drive crash halfway through ME3. I guess the moral is to use the cloud storage, eh?

I don't think they were very alike otherwise; Katherine Shepard was a non-persuasive Engineer; I think I was going to go Refuse with her.

Ah yes, Alice is a classic Adept Paragade (i.e. red dialogue / paragon outcome). As my third Shep (and canon due to first all possible DLC playthough - which i know you don't have, there is some I highly recommend and on PC it aint that expensive) I am pleased with how she looks across all 3 (well after ME3 facial surgery after a crappy import).

Started an ME3 broshep renegade adept Mirandamancer run, based off an edited save from me1/me2. Got as far as Mars then got depressed because I'll barely see Miranda at all. Re-evaluating my evening's gaming plans. Planetary Annihilation? Dark Souls? Skyrim? Crusader Kings 2?

stay tuned.

Shepard saved the galaxy from the Collector threat yet again. This time a high price was paid. Three crew mates were lost in the battle against the Collectors. Their names will go down in history as heroes and defenders of the Galaxy (though only two of them will be added to the memorial wall).

Tali'Zorah vas Normandy

Mordin Solus

Zaeed Massani (who is not really a hero since he was just in it for the money :P )

First time for a non-Tali ME3. Also a first time for Shepard to kill Wiks.

Since anti-social Shepard isn't really good with people, she's also not very charismatic or persuasive. She doesn't believe in artificial personality boosts so she tries her best to deal on the merits of a situation, which doesn't always work. Such was the case when trying to convince Major Kyle he wasn't doing anyone any good, and she ended up killing him and all his followers. She also wasn't able to convince Corp. Toombs that killing that last scientist was a mistake. Toombs shot the scientist, then himself. Now Shepard really is the sole survivor of Akuze.

Shep may not talk to random people, but she won't withhold evidence from her superiors. When she learned of a group of marines lured to their deaths, she informed Adm. Kahoku as soon as she returned to the Citadel. She's now investigating the bases the admiral told her about. This Cerberus group seems to be involved in some serious sh*t, most of it bad. And if they were behind what happened on Akuze, well, looks like some payback may be in order.

Did all of Illium today(Samara and Thane recruit, Miranda loyalty, and Lair of the Shadow Broker)  As well as proved Tali innocent at the trial.  Going to finish the day with Garrus and Jacob loyalty missions so I can fully upgrade Normandy and hopefully I don't have to probe any planets.

Finished up ME1 with anti-social Shep:

Was able to talk Wrex down (surprised really, since I only had 3 points in Charm and 2 in Intimidate, but I did take him with me to get his armor)

Lost Ashley on Virmire

Held back the Alliance fleet to go after Sovereign; Council died when the DA was destroyed

Recommended Capt. Anderson for new human-in-charge-of-the-galaxy, or whatever that position will be now

Told Anderson and Udina that the rest of the Reapers are still out there and I'm gonna stop them.

On to ME2.....

Tracked down Garrus' old "friend" on the Citadel.  He had a new ID supplied to him by someone called Fade.  As luck would have it, Fade is none other than that embarrassment to humanity, Harkin.  Looks like he's moved from being useless to criminal.  Garrus got the info, but he's worrying me.  This Sidonis thing is really getting to him.

When we caught up with Sidonis, I didn't let Garrus take his shot.  Over the comm, he heard Sidonis' excuses, and how bad he feels about it.  I'm not one to say that you can do whatever you like so long as you feel really bad afterwards, but I don't like the path Garrus is going down, either.  He saw it the same way, let the traitor go.  Sidonis can stew in his own hell for awhile, he doesn't need us to send him there.

I've never been to Tuchanka before.  I wasn't really prepared for how bad it was.  Mordin insists this isn't the result of the genophage, and he does have a point.  Viruses don't make craters.  And seeing what the krogan did to each other really drives home how bad the Rebellions must have been.  Still, I'm not sure I'm sold on this genophage idea.

Turns out Grunt's problem is puberty, or whatever the krogan word for it is.  Help him out with some krogan rite of passage, and he'll calm down.  Well, calm for a krogan.  Wrex is running Clan Urdnot now, and most of Tuchanka from the looks of it.  He's decided to let Grunt try and be a member of his Clan.  Wrex is surprisingly forward-thinking.  The krogan may just have a shot with him in charge, genophage or no.

Unsurprisingly, a krogan rite of passage involves killing a whole lot of things.  Varren, those weird exploding giant bug things, and finally a frelling thresher maw.  I miss the Mako.  I'm a bit surprised we took it down, but this Collector Particle Beam slices through just about anything you point it at.  A rival Clan wanted to claim Grunt, he politely told them where they could stick their offer.  The particle beam works wonders on krogan, too.  Didn't have time to switch over.

We tracked Mordin's missing comrade to another rival Clan, the guys who run the Blood Pack.  Cheery bunch.  The krogan's desperation to lift the genophage is getting really scary.  Human experiments, a female volunteering for a procedure that killed her.  Even a captured Urdnot scout wanted to stay behind, be part of the experiment.  They're so desperate they'll turn on their own Clans for what they think is the future of their race.  I got him moving with some inspiring words, krogan-style.  They're not that complex when you boil it down.

Mordin's still convinced the genophage is the right choice.  Not sure I agree, but I have bigger things on my plate right now.  We found his captured scientist buddy, who it turns out wasn't captured at all.  He wanted to help cure the genophage, was trying to undo what Mordin's team had done, what the salarians who ended the Rebellions had done.  I talked Mordin out of killing him, but we kept the research data.  Something about hanging on to data gained by unethical experiments rubs me the wrong way, but it seemed to matter to Mordin that something good come out of all this.  Maybe I'll live to see the krogan start breeding again.  Maybe I'll have to fight in part two of the Krogan Rebellions.  Who knows.

Back to Omega for a spell.  Seems like this time around, I'm visiting all the worst places the galaxy has to offer.  Morinth is there, killing people.  A young woman was the most recent victim.  Talented sculptor.  What a waste.  Samara and I are going to deal with it.

I get to be the bait to draw Morinth out.  Can't say I like the idea of putting myself squarely in the sights of a predator who kills by sex, but Samara's convinced it's the only way to get a shot at Morinth.  Since she's been chasing her for four hundred years and I haven't, I defer to her judgement.

Never knew it was this easy to pick up an asari in a bar.  Buy a round of drinks, tip off someone about to get ganked, and there she is.  Drop some artist and band names, talk about going dangerous places, and I'm getting the "back to my place" invite.  If I'd known it was this easy back in basic. . . then again, Morinth only wants me to come home with her so she can suck my brain out through a straw, so that might have something to do with it.

The trap worked.  Morinth tried to get in my head, and it scares me a little how close she came.  If Samara hadn't come in when she did, Morinth might have gotten me.  But Samara did, Morinth didn't, and the deed is done.  Once less serial killer in the galaxy because of me.  Maybe balances out that creepy e-mail I got after I busted Jack loose.

Speaking of Jack, hit that base on Pragia where she was "raised."  That was a despicable project.  If Kaiden could have heard what Jack went through, I think he'd look at BaTT a little differently.  Miranda's convinced the facility went rogue, and I even got a message from the Illusive Man swearing that he'd ordered the project scrubbed before the break-out, but I'm not sure I believe him.  In fact, I'm sure I don't believe him.  The guy's way too well-informed to let something like that go unnoticed.  He's just trying to make sure I don't run off with his precious ship, or all the creds they spent bringing me back from the dead.  Makes me wonder why he even pointed me in Jack's direction to begin with.  Doesn't make sense.  He had to have known this would all come out as soon as she joined up.  He doesn't strike me as either careless or blindly optimistic.

Before we did that, we had to detour to the Migrant Fleet.  Tali's up on charges.  Thought I'd just drop her off, maybe stick around for moral support, but the quarians decided that she was on my ship, instead of hers.  So it was up to me to defend her.  Thankfully, quarian legal proceedings are pretty straightforward.  Seems Tali sent some geth pieces back to her father for some kind of research, and things got out of hand.  We get to look into the lab ship they've commandeered, exactly like everyone expected we would.  I am getting sick and tired of everyone in the galaxy railroading me.

The ship was swarming with geth.  Way more than Tali could have sent back in bits.  This was not her fault.  And we found proof, but she doesn't want to use it.  Because it points the finger squarely at her father, making him responsible for a whole lot of very, very bad things.  We barely got back before the Admiralty Board started up again, convinced we were killed.  Can't say I was sorry to disappoint them.  I managed to exonerate Tali without shoveling the blame on her dad by pointing out just how much of a sham the trial really was.  It had nothing to do with Tali, it was all about the Admirals trying to score political points for their own agendas.

I really hope the quarians don't make the mistake of attacking the geth.  Much as I'd love for them to get their homeworld back, and much as I wouldn't mind never having to gun down another of those flashlight-heads, throwing the Migrant Fleet at the geth with no idea what their numbers and capabilities are seems like suicide to me.  But the quarians are getting desperate, in rather the same way that the krogan are, and I have a feeling this is all going to come to a head very soon.

After blowing up Jack's childhood "home," we headed to that distress call from Jacob's dad's old ship.  I'm sick to my stomach just thinking about what we found.  The ship crashed on an uncharted planet, a nice little garden world by all appearances.  Except that all the local flora and fauna have this charming neurotoxin that impairs brain function.  Turns you into a complete idiot with no real memory or identity.  You can still shoot a gun just fine, though.

But that wasn't the worst part.  The officers, Jacob's dad first and foremost, kept the ship's stores for themselves while they worked on setting up a distress beacon.  That part makes sense, I probably would have made the same call.  But when the beacon was finished, they decided not to turn it on, instead letting the crew stay in their vulnerable state.  And they. . . took advantage of the situation, with the women.  Looks like pretty soon, Jacob's dad killed the other salient officers, banished everyone else with a Y chromosome, and took all the females for himself.  He only called for help when the men he'd previously vanished picked up guns and started trying to get him.

If I'm being completely honest, I have to say I do see the appeal.  Nice tropical setting and dozens of innocent young ladies to keep you company.  But I'd hope, had I been in that situation, I'd have made the right call, for my entire crew.  Thought about them first, and not just dipping my wick.  Done whatever I could to get them out before the mental impairment became permanent.  And I just can't fathom leaving your son behind.  Jacob's a good man.  Far better than he should be, given who his father turned out to be.  Really makes you think about that old "Nature vs. Nurture" argument, and who decides who we are as people.

Some more pirate activity.  Cracked a Blue Suns base that was illegally excavating some Prothean tech.  When I ran it, I flashed back to the vision I got from the Eden Prime beacon.  This time, I saw the Collectors in it.  Were the Prothean scientists on Ilos aware of what happened to the rest of their species?  Did the Collectors and Protheans co-exist for a time, as the Reapers stampeded through the galaxy?  Were Protheans forced to kill their own people, transformed into Reaper servants?  I don't know, but I know I'm on the right track.

Data from the dig site led us to a ship the Blue Suns had hit, trying to hijack its cargo.  We made pretty short work of them, in part because the Blue Suns were more interested in seeing each other die so the survivors could get more shares.  Reminds me of that old song, The Derelict.  Crew of an old sail ship all found dead, having killed each other for the treasure, and the crew that found them splitting it all up nice and fair.  Fifteen men on a dead man's chest, indeed.

And now we know. Although there is one possible reason to recruit him after Virmire: you don't have to bother with finding his family armor or passing a persuade check to keep him alive. Save you some time or talent points.

Hehe, that's exactly what I always do. Saves Quarian lives later on and still gets rid of that pesky little Geth.
