Spent some time trying to finish a Vanguard playthrough in ME3 (as an ME1-style Vanguard). Just finished the Hades Cannon mission -- I hate that mission -- and was extremely shocked to see Cortez die.
This was not a playthrough where I purposely try to kill some people off in ME3. I thought for sure I had talked to Cortez all three times. So I loaded up a previous save and went to the Citadel, noticed that Cortez was still waiting at the memorial wall.
I guess that is what happens when you ignore a character for a few months: you totally forget what you did or did not do.
Oh well.
(And none of my squadmates commented on his immediate death which was also a surprise. Just, stunned silence. Weird.)
As far as I know only Kaidan/Ashley and James comment on his death. The response is quite emotional from all of them (which doesn't make much sense in case of Kaidan and Ash)

I've had Javik and edi comment on his death while Ashley mentioned not seeing more of Hammer showing up

They both say that they're sorry for the loss of Cortez at the fob after getting off the shuttle.
If you mean when Steve gets shot down, then yes its only Ashley, Kaidan and James

Thanks Mike
My rig makes the recommended specs ....barely. Happy happy joy joy.
There was a rumor on Reddit yesterday that the new DA game would take a 4GB video card. I'm going, "Um, I've already dropped $200 for a new AMD card..." Thankfully, they were wrong.
@Bire: That bug looks like someone told Liara "Turn that frown upside down," and she somehow did it literally. ![]()
Edit: Eh, I might not be playing much today, but as long as we're sharing bugs, I did get a screenshot of this classic:

Kaidan is dead. But we will remember his sacrifice and in doing so, we will remember him. Saren is dead but we will remember this day and we will remember that it took for all of us to stand together to defeat his master Sovereign. We will rebuild and as we do so we will prepare, Sovereign wasn't alone but with this galaxy united and ready for their arrival, we can give ourselves a fighting chance against the Reapers. The Council races have accepted Humanity as one of their own and with Cerberus defeated we can move away from ideas like isolation and xenophobia to reap the benefits of interspecies cooperation. I can see nothing but hope when I look into the future, for myself, my crew and for humanity.
Next week on Mass Effect.....
It's not the Geth! Brace for evasive manoeuvres! *Crash* AAAAAHHHH!.....How bout goodbye? I would have followed you to hell!
I'm a dangerous B*tch but then i'm a little girl again. *Miranda's butt* I am pure Krogan! You should be in awe.

This afternoon, Amy did this:
Don't forget to up the Quality.. I didn't install those texture packs for nowt you know.,
If you have strong rig to record with FRAPS and still get 60fps or 30+, you can still have some mods loaded, but too much will eat up your frames. I prefer no mods installed when using FRAPS since your CPU is already being highly used by FRAPS when recording.

60 is fine if you still get 60fps during recordings, but your video files may be a lot bigger.

So true. The vids already take up way too much space as it is. 30 FPS is good enough for me for taking screenies.60 is fine if you still get 60fps during recordings, but your video files may be a lot bigger.

Well, I don't use modded hair. I don't like my FemShep to be made of mods.

Finally made some progress in my new playthrough, finished Eden Prime, went to the citadel, met with the council, told Holo-Saren I'd kill him next time we met, which was kinda odd since technically we haven't met yet... Now have a craaaaaaaaazy amount of running around the citadel to do in order to find evidence against Saren. I love this game, but I'm kinda wishing -- just a little bit -- that I could spacebar all the way to my first chance at some Mako driving. *sigh*

I'm just a bit further than you. I've been made and Spectre and done all currently possible missions on the Citadel, now I'm busy going through the galaxy doing side missions and those mineral fetch quests. I'll continue with the main plot eventually and go and pick up Liara, but I'm just messing around for the time being.
I really regret having started the fetch quests, I could have just landed on the planets and drove straight to the missions, now my OCD compel's me to finish them urgh. The only one that even carries over to the sequels is the Asari Writings. I've screwed myself over.

Yep. Though I recommend saving before you do. I drove the Mako into the lovely lakes on the Citadel and fell through the universe into the endless void ![]()

All three games have some pacing issues right after the tutorial/introduction missions, but Mass Effect 1 seems to be the worst, at least to me, particularly since I complete all available secondary quests as soon as possible. That means several hours of never doing anything remotely related to the main plot, which makes the game seem like it drags on forever before it picks up some consistent pacing again.
