Today I answered an invitation to take part in training drills at some space station in the middle of nowhere. Pinnacle Station was the name, I believe. I met Adm Tahern who is an old tough as nails soldier that's survived many battles. He didn't believe my hype and was cool toward me at first, but I think he wanted to propose by the end of my stay. Wrex and Garrus joined me in the skirmishes and we all had laughs over how easy the simulations were.
To save the old man's face, we tried to make it look difficult.
Some crazy turian made a stupid bet that I wouldn't be able to beat his scores. He lost some armor to me as a result. Hah! I wanted to bet him a few more times to bleed him dry, but Wrex was hungry (you don't get between a Krogan and his next meal) and Garrus gave me the eye (he knew we outclassed the other participants and didn't want me to take advantage. I should have bought some underlings with me instead.)
After beating out all scores, Tahern offered a challenge. I agreed as long as he removed the safety protocols. He agreed and to sweeten the deal he offered his retirement place out on a red sand planet as a reward. No way I was going to pass up free realestate. It was a sure bet, so why not? After beating his little sim, I took the crew out to my new place. Just a short trip, but I was able to order new armor and high value upgrades from the black market terminal in the house. The prices were extremely high, but my crew deserves the best equipment. Besides, I'm rich.
Once everyone was upgraded with the best of the best and I'd resupplied armaments and medi-gel, we headed out to Therum to collect that Asari named Dr. Liara T'Soni. Unfortunately, I'd recently killed her mother and I wasn't looking forward to her weeping and whining. I needed her for my mission so... I had to endure.
Therum crawled with Geth. Wrex and Garrus came with me as Wrex loves killing Geth and Garrus wanted sniper practice. We killed every Geth we came across and eventually found Liara. The so called brilliant doctor was trapped in a Prothean vault. She was near hysterical and talking crazy. Anyway, we freed her from the trap and left Therum after killing some merc's on the way out the door.
Joker was upset that his precious Normandy was put in danger (his concern for me his CO vs the ship is ... well... weird?), and let loose that vicious humor of his. Liara was shocked, but I told her Joker was an ass and to ignore it.
So this Asari did have useful information. Saren was headed to Illos to retrieve the conduit. I allowed her to mind meld with me and the prothean beacon data in my brain had her close to passing out. She noted that I had a strong mind to not have gone insane with that floating in my head. Little does she know. It takes a LOT to kill me. Hah!
So, I talked with Kaidan again. I'm in such trouble there. I want him. But, in the middle of all this it's not going to happen. Maybe later... NOTE: Kaidan is really overly cautious. I feel the weight of his eyes on my arse everywhere I go, but he resists touching. Oh,... he's 32! A little older than me. Found out about his first love. Ugh... tough situation for him. He's got such a good heart.
So... we are off to Illos next.

ahem. Kaidan stopped by my quarters. We had some fun and blew off some steam. Gotta make sure I don't fall in love there. But... he's like candy.

I defeated Saren today but more importantly... I defeated a Reaper today. I also eliminated the council and helped humanity seize control. There was no fanfare or party, but that wasn't necessary. Tali wondered why they didn't promote me. I'd just saved the Citadel after all. But, it's complicated. I let the council die... oh well. Hah! Promotions mean more work and I want to focus on stopping Reapers.
Sidenote: They asked me who should be the 1st Human Councilor. I told them straight... I don't care. Let the politicians decide. Anderson and Udina just stood there looking at me as I walked away. I think Udina wanted the job. I wasn't going to give him any props, that arsehole.
