I finished ME2 on Insanity. It's been a while since I played an Engineer trilogy run and I'd forgotten how much fun the Engineer is.

I took Tali on Legion's Loyalty Mission so I could have three drones active and three A.I Hacking options available. It made it a piece of cake. :D

I took Tali for the final fight as well. Watching Harby' being hassled by two drones was a lot of fun.

I'll have to find that "What's your favourite class" thread and re-post.  :P

TL;DR Engineer is awesome!! (2 exclamation points awesome).

A very exciting thing! I don't expect anybody to care, but still I'm very happy!

Finally managed to do a solo game. Yep. Played Bronze/Geth/Glacier with a Salarian Engineer using a Kishock. It was surprisingly effective. Energy Drain and then Kishock. Found a nice spot on the map to force spawns from two sides. That was the best I could do, but even getting caught in crossfire I managed to survive very well.

Was very fun and intense. Looking forward for more.

Max Shepard/Spacer/Adept Continued

Max awoke in her cabin the morning after Horizon resolved to not hold on to the past. Kaidan would always be a part of her and no amount of time would allow her to change the events on Virmire. Even though they never had a lot of time together she will remember him fondly. With no time to waste she ordered Joker to head to Illium meet up with Liara and get some more information.

Max started with recruiting the assassin. A drell was not what she expected to find but he was good and that's just what she needed on her team. After long drawn out fights against Mercs Max needed a drink. She headed to the Eternity lounge with Thane and Zaeed and of course as it seems to happen in the galaxy she ran into someone she had met before. Conrad Verner dear lord why why him. He was not a bad guy just not the brightest she had ever met. Wearing N7 armor and threatening people was not a good start to their meeting but Max decided to hear him out for awhile and agreed to go chat up the so called police officer that was his contact. Once she found the so called cop it was clear this young Asari believed Max was just as naive as Conrad...lets play a game little girl...Max played it up and convinced her to go back to the bar to get the deed. Max returned to the bar shortly after the Asari had walked in and for some reason she is not entirely sure why but she felt bad for Conrad who looked like a confused lost little puppy so she lied to him about what happened and asked his to return home.

Next up was getting the Justicar. Thane and Zaeed went with her. It was fun blowing up Eclipse Mercs :) they made their way through the base and met up with a very strange volus claiming to be a biotic god....you have got to be kidding me....this guy would just get himself killed so Max knocked him on his ass. They headed into the main room and fought like crazy to end these merc b*tches and got the shipping manifest for the justicar. Once everything was taken care of they all headed back to the Normandy.

That night Max made her way around talking to all the crew members...even the Cerberus ones...trying to get a feel for where they were all at. She enjoyed her conversation with Thane, a chance to learn more about a new species has always fascinated her. The crew seemed in good spirits ready for the challenges of the next day.

There was one more person to get on the crew and that was her young friend Tali. They headed to Heastrom and fought through the Geth to get to her. With Tali on the crew it was time for Max to focus on getting her crews heads on straight many had asked to speak with her and needed help completing their unfinished business just in case they did not come back from the final mission.

Miranda was the first one that Max agreed to help since they were already back on Illium it made sense. Trying to get to Miranda's sister was not easy but they made it in time to find out that Miranda's friend had betrayed her. Max would not let her kill Niket, that was a road she did not want her to go down. Pulling the trigger yourself or making the decision to leave them behind is not easy to live with and no one should have to. They finished off the Mercs and checked in on Miranda's sister. Max did not want to pry to much and left the choice up to Miranda wither or not to talk to her.

Back on the Normandy Max headed to talk with Jack and agreed to go to Pragia.  Once they got there she could tell Jack was unsettled. What had they really done here? They searched through the facility and Max learned more than she ever wanted to about how far Cerberus will go. They made it to Jack's cell where a man named Aresh was hiding. He was a kid here just like Jack was. He was so lost in the past that Max convinced Jack to spare him. They headed back to the Normandy and watched the facility blow.

Of course that is when Jack decided to have a chat with Miranda. Max had enough of Cerberus at this point she told Miranda to back off. Right after the fun little throw down of biotics the Illusive man contacted the Normandy and told her about a collector ship they needed to look into. With time wasting Max had Joker head straight there.

Thane and Grunt went with her on this little adventure. They learned some interesting things about the collectors...they were prothean and o yeah this was also a trap...of course it was a trap. They fought through the ship trying to make it to the shuttle. At one point they had to jump down a ledge Max made it just fine but somehow the big strong Krogan and the Drell died on impact. Lucky for her she had some medi-gel and got both of them back up off their asses they needed to get out of here and playing dead was not helping.

Back on the Normandy Max made her way around again talking to the crew. She was beginning to like a few of the Cerberus people Ken and Gabby where fun to talk to. Jacob was almost to the point she would be able to trust him. After she had talked to all the others Max made her way to Thane and spent the evening talking to him. He was just so fascinating she can't help but keep going back to him.

Max Shepard/Spacer/Adept Continued

The following Morning on the Normandy was busy. Everyone needed to ask Max for help and the Cerberus crew where working diligently keeping the Normandy running. Max looked over the past mission reports making sure everything was in order before telling Joker to head to the Citadel. Garrus and Thane had business there.

They arrived at C-Sec and spoke with Captain Bailey looking for information about Thanes son and a man named Fade that Garrus was looking for. He pointed them in the directions they need to pursue. Thane was first Max did not like the Idea of this Turian politician running as Anti-Human but that was not her focus right now they need to save Kolyat. It didn't take long before they found him, lucky they were able to keep him from doing to much damage. Max did not want him to end up in the system and convinced Bailey to think about doing just community service.  When all the lose ends where wrapped up they headed out to find Fade.

Turns out Fade is Harkin, such an ass, Doing a lovely dance around the Mercs they found Harkin hiding(why do they always hide?) Garrus was furious and wanted to end Harkin right there but Max wouldn't let him do it. They got the information basically by Garrus beating the crap out of Harkin and headed off to find Sidonis.

Once again Max stepped in to stop Garrus from his killing spree. With everything on the Citadel taken care of for now they all headed back to the Normandy.

That night Max spent it with Garrus talking about the days events. He was a good friend and Max would do anything for him. The following day they headed off to help Kasumi with her little adventure. Easy enough Kasumi is as good as she claims.  Once they crack the vault open they find the grey box. Hawk caught on rather early to what was happening and sent in more Mercs to kill them. When will these crime bosses learn that no amount of Mercs are as good as her and her squad. They finish off Hawk blowing up his ship and head back to the Normandy. Max couldn't ask Kasumi to destroy the grey bax, if she had something like that to remember every moment she spent with some one special she would keep it.

Max spent the evening talking with Thane and he finally told her about his wife and how she died. For the first time since it all happened Max talked about how she felt about Virmire to the one person she believes could understand her pain.

Next up should be Grunt and Mordin Loyalty

A clone! Really Cerberus, you kept a clone of me around? That's who has been trying to kill me lately. She wanted to take over my life and steal the Normandy. Well, the team got together and put a stop to that. We missed our chance at the Archives but we did kill a lot of her mercenaries once she revealed herself and her crew. She was able to change my biometrics to her handprint so we didn't want to take the chance of the authorities believing her long enough for her to get the Normandy through a relay.

We raced to the ship and barely got onboard before she undocked. Remind me to thank Sam for the use of her toothbrush. Javik, Wrex and I made short work of the remaining mercenaries but it took awhile to take me, I mean her, down. Her hiding in plain sight confederate, Brooks, was captured and I thought for a minute that she was going to try to escape. But she evidently thought better of it and went meekly with the authorities. Good choice since I was itching to shoot someone right then.

Now maybe we can have a real shore leave. It certainly has started off well. I went for an aerobatic shuttle ride with Steve, shook my head at the latest Blasto vid with Javik (too bad about that one Vorcha), met Garrus for a drink (and introduced him to a lovely Turin female - man he is bad at small talk), and watched Zaeed get very frustrated with a video game (although he did eventually win a prize). I got music updates for the apartment from that same game, which should come in handy when we have that party the crew keeps prodding me to have.

But I think the party will have to wait a bit. there are a few things I need to do on the Citadel and then I think it's time to go find this Leviathan creature and maybe get some more help in this war. But first, I want to have a few more drinks and play some casino and arcade games. And I need to work on some new catch phrases. It's time to retire "I should go."

Shep and the crew have been busy since hanging up on the council after Noveria. Went back to the Citadel and informed admiral Kahoku that his missing squad were killed by a thresher maw. He was understandably upset but pleased that shep killed the maw. Told Wilhelm his brother had been killed by pirates, and told Nassana Dantius her sister had also been killed, by shep. She was not as upset as one might expect. Perhaps a thousand year lifespan makes one a little more philosophical about death? She added shep to her company's preferred client list, which means... I dunno what, exactly.

Caught up with Emily Wong, but made the mistake of spacebar'ing my way through the conversation and refused to plant a bug in the citadel control tower for her. Oops. Met Michael and Rebekah who were arguing about genetic modifications for her unborn kid, or something. Spacebar'ed that conversation too, so not really sure what I said to them in the end. Oh well.

Met Conrad again, and let him take my picture. Hey, a fan is a fan.

Also talked down a young girl who had escaped from the same slavers who attacked Mindoir thirteen years previously. She was in rough shape but shep kept her from doing anything too crazy. Poor kid.

Some other stuffed-shirt admiral wanted to inspect the Normandy on some jumped-up premise that the ship was supposed to be part of his fleet, blah blah. Pretty much told him where he could shove his appropriations bill next time, and he walked away impressed that I wasn't intimidated in the least. Said his report wouldn't be as negative as he'd originally planned. *sniff* Admirals.

That was it for this citadel visit, time to get back out into space. Saved a squad of Alliance marines from a rachni attack. Didn't quite understand where the lieutenant was coming from: She said they needed an evac, but figured there wasn't room on the Normandy for all of them. Uhh, three people? I thought we could manage but she wouldn't come around. Oh well, saved their asses anyway.

Found Wrex's family armor for him, let Garrus kill Dr. Saleon Heart, and stopped a geth incursion in the Armstrong Cluster. Was a little bit disappointed by then because I'd already completed all the collection quests: asari writings, turian insignias, salarian medallions/ID tags, prothean discs, and all the minerals, so I could head straight for the mission objectives on all the geth planets. I could have driven around just for hell of it... I mean I like driving the Mako, but... well... not that much, heh.

Now shep and the crew are on an asteroid that some jerk-off batarians have steered right into the human colony on Terra Nova. shep will do his best to save everyone, but after Mindoir, when it comes to batarians, all bets are off.

Spoiler

EDIT: UPDATE: Balak is dead. Charn is dead. Uncountable batarians, varren and rocket drones are dead. Kate and Aaron Bowman are dead. Simon Atwell's engineering team are dead (though not by shep's hand). Simon Atwell is alive -- minus one smokin' omnitool -- which is more than most people who have taken a shot at shep can say. Simon Atwell's grandkids are alive, along with millions of other Terra Novans. Radio X57 is alive and well. All in all, a good day of kickin' ass out there in the Milky Way.

Played around a bit with 'Combat Engineer' that i had laying around for several months. It is a multiplayer-style Engineer with Overload, Incinerate, Combat Drone and AP Ammo as a bonus power. capn233 has a thread about in another forum.

Finished the Rannoch arc. Got fried by the Reaper a few times because:

1. An Xbox controller is an inferior movement device compared to a keyboard and mouse (turning can be an issue at times).

2. Occasionally -- and I have no idea how or why it happens -- the Laser Targeting gun becomes extreeeeeeeemely slow at times, making it take about three times longer than it should to laser target the Reaper.

It slows down if you aim while moving, maybe that's the case?

I find it slow all the time. Have to start the aiming process, stop, run away, resume. At least EDI has a good memory for positions... Err, positioning.

A lot of times I found that I would have the laser line up and nothing. What I have to do is re-aim and the reaper gets hit

As soon as the reaper starts priming its laser, I fire the laser increasing the speed to target the reaper

Mouse and keyboard makes the game supremely easy, especially when it comes to changes in direction or engaging multiple targets.

Mouse and keyboard is better for movement.

But I prefer the controller for using mapped powers (although I get to use fewer of them). I find when I end up moving my fingers off the WASD configuration and I end trying to use E to move right or something. I play ME3 on PC for the mutliplayer so I cannot say if that would be the case if i played single player on PC. Plus the framerate on my third-rate laptop is completely terrible and so I have a lot of trouble hitting things on PC if more than two people are in the MP lobby. But movement on PC is so much better.

With the above said here we will continue Max's story

****

The days never end on the Normandy. With so much to do and little time left Max quickly made her way to Tuchanka. Grunt was getting out of hand and she needed a Krogan to help them understand what was wrong. Arriving there was easy but trying to get past the Urdnot Guards was a little more difficult until Wrex noticed her. Max always like Wrex...he was a warrior to the core but had a diplomatic side to him as well...  They caught up for a short bit before she asked him to look into what was making Grunt act out. PUBERTY REALLY??? Well guess that comes with all species. Wrex agreed to let Grunt take the right (even though some disproved)

The fighting during the right was intense especially when they had to kill a thresher maw. The last time Max went up against one she was driving the Mako with Garrus and Kaidan in the back yelling at her to learn how to drive. Thanks to her quick wit as a woman she might add :P the Mako did not blow up and they made it out safe. This time was harder on foot with a few bullets and her biotics. That was not enough to stop Grunt or her. They both loved seeing that big buggy worm explode. Of course the Krogan who dispproved of Grunt showed up and they quickly took care of that issue with MUZZLE VELOCITY!

Mordin was next on the list of squad that needed help. They made their way to the Blood Pack base and Max was in no mood to listen to the rantings of a crazed ass Krogan. The explosion and hearing the screams as flesh burned set a fire in her that made killing the Blood Pack that much easier. The things they found in there were disgusting. Experiments on humans, the genophage and its consequence of killing young female krogan who wanted nothing more than to be a mother. Max had enough of all things genophage and how it is a necessary evil. Mordin and Max argued over every bit of information they found. There was nothing he could say that would make any of this sit right with her. She liked Mordin but did not approve of the things he had done to the Krogan.

They found Maelon in a secured room surrounded by his research. Max convinced Mordin he was not a murderer and to save the data. Those people died from brutal research. If one day it could be used to save the Krogan they would not have died in vein.Back on the Normandy Max was not ready to call it a day just yet. They headed off to help Jacob find the ghost of his past.

The planet was very strange, the people seemed to complacent for Max's liking. Some of the old Gernsback crew gave them information that showed what happened over the past 10 years was beyond redemption in her eyes. They found Jacobs father and left him for the Alliance to take care of. With the day at end Max decided it was time for some rest. She checked in on her crew before making her way to spend the rest of the evening talking with Thane. They had a connection that even she did not understand but to be around someone that understood and never judged her was what she needed right now.

Spacer, Engineer, Insanity

Picked up Garrus and the Primarch on Menae (did the barrier fight without the heavy gun. More fun that way).

Went to Sanctum to Firebase Glacier   to pick up some Reaper Tech samples so Hacketts team can become indoctrinated just like Cerberus. D'oh!

Then went back to the Citadel to run around meeting everyone. Oh, I also recruited Diana Allers. Every time I recruit/talk to her I think of this vid.  :P

"Report to the ship. We'll bang okay?"

Yep. Engineer is the most fun especially in ME3.

Yeah, it's good in ME3, but it seems to be more fun in ME2.  That little drone trolls everything, even Praetorians are distracted for a couple of seconds.  That last run I wanted to play as a pure Engineer so I took Neural Shock as a Bonus Power. Next run I'll take Dominate for organic 'hacking' fun, as well as A.I Hacking for mechs, and just sit back and troll everything.  :D
