Today in the 'verse...
Ash and shep made a return trip to Eden Prime, along with Liara, to pick up another prothean artifact. No geth this time, but plenty of Cerberus mooks. There is one battle, after getting the two needed clues from the labs, but before opening the stasis pod. It takes place in a bit of an open area, and by the time we arrive the cerberus squad already has a couple turrets set up, along with a couple guardians and engineers and maybe four or five regular guys, possibly a centurion as well. shep ran up and sabotaged both turrets as quickly as possible and then we sat back and watched. Well... Ash might have shot one of the regular troops who was kinda out of the turrets' line-of-fire. When it was over, one quick overload took care of the turrets. God, I love engineershep in ME3.
The rest of the mission went without a hiccup, and now Javik is on board the Normandy, ready to kill reapers again. I'll take him on a few missions, but I want to take him along lots on my canon playthrough -- with adeptshep and Liara -- so they can be the three biotic amigos. So I don't want to burn out on Javik too much. We'll see how it goes. Got a lot to do before the plot advances very far. Have to meet up with Samara and help her save her daughter, and recruit Brynn Cole and her band of merry cerberus defectors. Have to turn in a few fetch quests, and pay a visit to Dr. Bryson at his lab on the Citadel, and that's just for starters
It seems everybody wants a little bit of shep's time and attention. Sam wants a game of chess. Vega wants to talk about the N7 program. Javik wants to visit the Citadel. Allers wants an interview. Garrus wants to break a hundred and thirty-seven regulations (or more). Cortez wants to have drinks at Purgatory. Liara wants to chat on the Presidium. Miranda wants to meet again... can't remember where. Oops. I've got to check out something to do with the Volus ambassador, Din Korlack. Chakwas wants me to barter for some medical supplies down on the refugee docks. Finally Ash wants to meet there too, at the War Memorial.
And all of this in addition to doing what Hackett directed me to do right after the coup attempt; rendezvous with the Migrant Fleet... and Tali'Zorah. Uh oh.
*sigh* such is the life of a galactic savior.
Best part of the Eden Prime mission -- besides how hot Ash looked in her red-and-white uniform, that is
-- the shuttle dialogue on the way there:
Liara: Eden Prime. This is where it all began. Where the prothean beacon gave you the vision that warned us about the reapers.
Ash: We lost a lot of good people when Saren and the geth hit this place.
Liara: Yes. And now, with Cerberus here, Eden Prime's colonists are under attack again.
Shep: Seems like more than just three years ago.
Ash: No kidding. I remember... I'd lost most of the two-twelve. I was running for cover, under fire from the geth. Man, a few hostile geth look pretty reasonable compared to what we're fighting these days.
Shep: You had the two-twelve soldiers, I lost corporal Jenkins. Geth recon drone took him down.
Ash: Well let's do this for them, then.
Liara: Cerberus hit Eden Prime hard. Whatever they found here was worth a major offensive. There are survivors elsewhere on the colony, but they killed everyone near the dig site.
Shep: We'll avenge the people of Eden Prime, but our first priority has to be whatever Cerberus has found.
Liara: Understood.
Shep: Do you have any idea what Cerberus found?
Liara: The Alliance didn't get any specifics about what Cerberus has uncovered. Since the original dig site here contained a warning about the reapers, it could be connected to the crucible.
Cortez: I'm bringing you in as close to the dig site as I can. No way we'll avoid detection but you should have a few minutes.
Shep: Appreciate it.
Cortez: All part of the service, Commander.
Shep: All right, everyone. Get ready to move.
Liara: With luck we can get to the dig site before Cerberus knows we're here.
