SporkFu - I spent what felt like a long time on DAI this weekend but I feel as though I've barely scratched the surface. My Dalish Elf mage is enjoying herself immensely and is turning into quite the flirt. This is going to take awhile and I plan to enjoy every step. Real life just means many of those steps are going to be widely separated.

 

But I'm playing as fast as I can (which is actually pretty slow since I seem to get easily distracted by pretty much everything I see in game).  I look forward to finishing this first run and THEN tuning into what everyone else has been doing. The Mikefest will probably be done with her 4th or 5th play through by then including the kill everybody version.

I'm having the exact same experience with DA:I as you -- well, maybe not flirting quite so much ... yet  ... But I am definitely distracted by every new thing I come across. And it seems there is always something new. God, imagine if they re-did DA:O on this shiny new engine

 

I think I've managed to put about ten or twelve hours actual game time into it so far, and it feels like I've barely scratched the surface. My progress is slow because playing for a couple hours makes me think my video card is going to melt, so I stop and let things cool down for a bit, and then play again. I'm probably being paranoid about it, but I'd rather do this than have the card actually melt and be unable to play at all. It's only temporary, I'm upgrading my rig very soon 

 

Can't wait to read about Mike's playthrough, heh.

Still stalling in ME2. I've recruited everyone but Tali, but I can't be bothered playing through her boring ass recruitment mission, since I despise fighting against the Geth, in all three games, they're such a boring enemy.

 

Whaaat? I equipped Disruptor ammo on my Mattock and cut thou the Geth like molten cheese. Easy, laughable, and much enjoyable

When the time had come to side with the werewolves or the Dalish (mmmmm, Danish) elves, I had a lot of thought about it.

I wanted to side with the Dalish elves cause we are the same race (but not same background). Plus, elves are cool, thats why I choose to be an elf in my playthrough.
But I feel sorry for the werwolves having been through so much, showing similarities to the Krogans with its genophage. Plus, dayum that spirit lady is just...too hawt for me.

I sided with the werewolves. But apparently so I happen to get the elves to join our army AND cure the genophage! I think I needed to have slaughtered the Dalish Elves to get the werewolve's side, but I wasn't persuasive enough to get the spirit to like the idea.

Just heard Leilana sing the song of an angel. It was beautiful and I'm conisdering cheating on Morrig-ROMANCING Leilana. I really love how the different companions react to her singing. But the strange thing is I didn't get any approval from here?

I've spent about 92 hours and still have 4 main quests left to finish the game. I'm doing everything that I can do before finishing the game. Yesterday was very exciting. I killed 3 high dragons. Cassandra is BOSS when its comes to fighting them.

 

 

Can't wait to read about Mike's playthrough, heh.

It's going to take me so very long to get to the point you're at in DAI Mike what with all the "ooh shiny" moments even as little as I've gotten through. But I can't wait to get through it so I can join back in the discussion and see what all I missed. But I don't want this 1st run to be too spoilered. So I'm going to just drive myself crazy over the next few weeks between finding time to play and wanting to know what all happens and what all I missed. Oh well.

DA:I sounds as big as Skyrim. It sounds like I'll be doing a lot of wandering.

 

Yesterday Darya Shepard Hawke did some more work.... I went back and found the save where Anders went nuts in Legacy, and

removed his staff. See unlike most people, since the death of Bethany, I made Anders a little more "offensive" than a simple healer. Thus he was a tad tougher to defeat. That took care of the problem. Now onward to Corypheus.... again.... initially sided with Larius, then switched to Janeka, DA2's Illusive Man. She was indoctrinated. She knew with certainty that she could control Corypheus. But we got through the gimmicky boss fight because I'd watched it on Youtube. Smash, then hide, then follow the flame. Nuke the boss. Wash rinse repeat. Simple.

Poor Janeka. She reported back to the warden commander and took the long walk. It's amazing how much BW recycles dialogue lines. "Time to cut you down like the mad dog you are!" Janeka to Larius and also Vido to Zaeed. Aveline's "romance" with the guard is similar to EDI's gift to Shepard - very awkward and stiff.

 

Then onward to finish Sebastian's quests. And unlocked three achievements. I never realized that I'd never done Sebastian's stuff before.

 

Darya ended up as an item with Isabela, which tells you how the Qunari thing is going to go.

I started a Tank Sentinel in ME3 today for some reason. I wanted to start it so I could get past Mars and have a good starting point for later.

Was surprised to see Ashley alive in this playthrough. I thought I let Kaidan live on Virmire.

 

Oh well, I'll shoot Ash on the Citadel when I get the chance.

And I cannot wait to officially dump Liara. Stupid ME1 ninja-mance. (I recall I turned Liara down in ME1, only to have her try and romance me anyway. I shot her down on the Normandy, then turned down her invitation to the Normandy in ME2 after taking down Shadow Broker.)

Darya Shepard-Hawke helped Varric kill his brother, rescued a couple of apostate mages, and talked to Fenris and agreed to disagree, helped Merrill with her mirror, and sadly, her mother died. She took a stroll through Hightown alone at night. Then killed the spiders at her mine. It looks like the Viscount's son has decided to embrace the Qun. Time to put a stop to that. The kid is a whiny brat anyway. I'll leave Isabela in the Hanged Man for this one.

I finished the Citadel Coup and then ran around picking up missions and doing all the little quests like 'Batarian Codes' when something weird happened.

In ME1 I killed Balak, but as I'm doing the "Batarian Codes" mission he shows up at the end at the last console. WTF!  I was sure I killed him. The first two consoles were normal, with the "stealing food " or "medical supplies" rather than "messing with the patients med machines" or "crashing Alliance ships".  I took out the disc and loaded up my ME1 career and sure enough it said I killed him.  Huh!? I swear this is the last time I play FemShep.

 

After that I decided to play Citadel DLC. I've never played that as an Infiltrator before and it wasn't too bad except for the last fight on the Normandy. My Mantis against her Black Widow. It was starting to become a long fight trying to snipe that b*tch so I focused on killing Brooks as much as I could. On the plus side the longer the fight goes the more heated the exchange between Shep and the Clo(w)ne gets. 

 

After I through the pretender out the airlock I started doing the Arena missions.

They should've given an option to just stand there with your friends and watch the clone fall. Like in Mummy 2, considering that the whole scene is a reenactment of the one in the movie.

Just finished my 1st citadel DLC playthrough as femshep with Traynor romanced and realised how dirty Traynor is. The chats on the sofa with EDI and then the hot tub scene. Traynor is a naughty girl and she doesn't care who knows.

Managed to get past Haestrom and now I'm back into the flow. I've started the loyalty missions and I should be done with them by the weekend.

Yeah, you have to ouright kill him if you don't want him to show up in ME3. On my canon run I tortured him to try to learn what the Batarians were planning and how Balak and other Batarian terrorist groups seem to answer to a higher authority(something which never came up again)before eventually executing him, and he never showed up in ME3, another Batarian did.

So Scott Shepard went to Thessia today, and he decided to try out of curiosity his recently upgraded Venom Shotgun X, which was a favourite of my previous Vanguard build. Thing is that that mentioned Vanguard build was specced for max. Power Damage and Weight Capability, and thus with extremely limited Weapon Damage bonuses, and wielding the Venom was still kickass. So I wanted to see it's full potential with a Soldier addicted to Weapon Damage bonuses (all Intel (including the fish bonus), armor, talent trees inc. Adrenaline Rush and weapon mods specced for Damage, plus full Warp Ammo vs the test Banshee and full Disruptor vs Kai Leng). Results? (Insanity difficulty btw):

 

- Hit one direct charged shot to the Banshee: all of it's barrier and half it's armor gone. A second shot reduced it to ashes.

 

- Hit Kai Leng once in his face just one second after he stops talking and he already complained about his shields needing to recharge. The rest of the combat was him just stupidly dancing, always at the same spot while he was being totally decimated.

Yeah. I decided to use it on my Tank Sentinel the other day. Only had it at level 1, and level 30-40ish enemies were still dropping with ease. I remembered why I stopped using it (because it makes the game to freaking easy).

Don't use Incendiary ammo, ever. I consider it cheaty enough already that Vega uses it (although at Rank 3 only). And anyways, being able to drop Banshees with 2 shots....who needs it?

Well, incendiary ammo IS glitched, while the Venom and Warp ammo are working as intended.........technically D:
