Shot Udina and recruited Kaidan. Also, I withdraw all my claims about Liara being squishy and dying too much. Javik died more than her (though to be fair he was cornered by a Brute on Tuchanka, but even then they died equally) :) She does sometimes die too fast but it's not that game-breaking. I guess she got combat experience after my multiple ME3 playthroughs :D

Javik and Liara go down way more than anyone else for some reason. The amount of times I've turned around and seen Javik down with his face in the dirt is ridiculous, it makes taking Liara+Javik to Thessia a pain in the ass.

It's really annoying because I usually like to let the squadmates do their own thing and take care of themselves, but some of them are clearly better at doing this than others. Ash, EDI, James and Kaidan can be trusted to stay alive on their own, Tali and Garrus are inbetween, with Liara and Javik needing to be babysat.

I wish we could give them defensive powers because they really need them.

Liara always went down too fast. Javik seemed to hold better but in this playthrough they die about the same amount of times (Javik dies more). It might be because I specced him for power damage instead health like I used to. And I level Fortification on James so he can stand in front of a Brute and laugh in its face :D

I found Liara's Singularity a very good way to keep her alive. Just cast it at whoever shoots her and be done with it. Her main problem are immune enemies like Banshees, Brutes, Atlases etc. Javik's Pull also does that.

Well, just visited the DA:I 'no-spoilers' forum and I've eaten two or three of them, so I'll keep clear from it for a time. Much clearer than until now, at least.

With that said, well...I don't have much non-spoily things to say :D I'm crafting some interesting stuff and making friends with everyone, basically. Hurin Trevelyan has both a talent for charming people and killing people

Nothing special happened to me today in the ME trilogy but I think I'm starting to warm to Javik.

I did nothing in ME3 today. Too much time spent reading some posts on BSN.

I'm back again~!

So I decided to finish the Geth Dreadnought mission from my Biotic-Sniper Shepard that I last used a month ago, if anyone remembers.

What was I doing while I was taking a big-ass break from ME3? DRAGON AGE 2.
Finished Act III (though to be fair, nothing warned me there's no turning back like Aveline in Act II).
Already had Black Emporium, bought Exiled Prince, Mark of The Assassin and Legacy DLC (you guys recommended it before).
Currently doing Legacy DLC.

*sigh* I wanted to get the Omega and Leviathan DLC but I guess I'm going to have to wait........again.
Oh and my birthday was on the 3rd.

I'd use a sniper rifle with my Adept but I hate the stupid ambient noises they out on them when zoomed in.

Why on Earth would looking down a scope make Shepard get tinnitus for the duration.

Upgrade Javik's Dark Channel with the rank 5 Slow. This will at least keep him alive longer, because enemies need more time to approach him.

Javik is somewhere in-between. I tested this out and I don't get it. Sometimes he kills most/all the enemies and sometimes he fails very badly. Maybe there's something slightly wrong with his AI because he's a DLC character.

But in my last Insanity playthrough, he killed most of the enemies completely on his own during the final standoff on Earth. I had to revive Garrus 5-6 times, but Javik wasn't down even once. They both had Typhoons.

I came on here to find ways to offer witty, funny critiques of some things and offer sardonic and ironic banter to others.

As for what I did in the Mass Effect Trilogy today, I played Dragon Age.

From the journal of Commander Ira Shepard:

After stopping Cerberus from taking over the Citadel, I decided to survey some of the damage. That did not last long as apparently no one can get anything done unless I am there. At least I got to shoot someone named Balak, a Batarian bast--d (is there any other kind?).

Ran into Kaidan on my way out, said he got an offer from Admiral Hackett but wanted to know if I wanted him back on the Normandy. I sent him to Hackett. I would have sent him with two black eyes -- he did point a gun at me earlier -- but I was in a good mood having shot that Batarian.

I had a brief meeting with Hackett and Anderson. Hackett wants me to recruit the Quarians for the war.

Traynor informed me that the Reapers destroyed Elysium and took Grissom Academy with it. Oh well, not like I knew anyone there. Traynor also said she found some ex-Cerberus scientists that we should recruit. Since I missed going to Grissom Academy earlier, I decided to go rescue these scientists next. Good thing too, since they were already under attack by the time we arrived.

So I ran into Jacob. Turns out he was running security for the scientists. Looks like he forgot how to shoot straight since we last met. Also turns out that he forgot we were a couple the last time we were together. That two-timing swine hooked up with a Dr. Cole; and I had to hear it from his new girlfriend first. If I didn't need the scientists for the Crucible Project, I would have turned him into Swiss cheese right then and there.

I am done with men. I invited Traynor up for playdate. We never did end up playing chess.

More from the journal of Ira Shepard:

I've been so busy lately, I've hardly had the time to write.

Asari high command wanted me to pay a visit to some remote Asari colony. Turns out it was monastery for Ardat-Yakshi. So I blew the place up and made sure to shoot the last survivor before I buggered off. Ardat-Yakshi creep me out. So glad I let Morinth die during our little Suicide Mission a few months back.

Then, as per Hackett's orders, I met with the Geth. Just in time too, as the stupid bucket-heads were at war with the flashlight heads and apparently beginning to lose. I infiltrated a Geth Dreadnaught with Admiral Xen. I like Xen; less whiny then that other suit-rat that used to travel with me. What was her name? Ah, doesn't matter now.

Found some Geth construct -- let's call it a Geth VI -- that wanted to help us fight the Reapers. It disabled the dreadnaught's drive core, which took its shields and weapons offline. Admiral Gerrel took the opportunity to fire at it. While I was less than pleased that he did it while I was still onboard, I cannot blame him for doing what I would have done in the exact same situation. Good to know there are other leaders out there that know how to make the hard choices without hesitation. I think we will get along just fine.

I then managed to rescue Admiral Korris from Rannoch. The Geth VI then had me go into the Geth Consensus to help shut down a Geth fighter squadron, but it also took the time to liberate a few Geth Primes as well. I was less than pleased.

We then invaded a Geth base onRannoch to disable a Reaper signal. Turns out the signal was coming from a Reaper Destroyer. With the Quarian fleet's help I managed to destroy the Reaper. Then I watched as the bucket-heads destroyed what was left of the Geth fleet. Good riddance.

After that, I delivered a bunch of junk to some people on the Citadel (what am I, an errand girl?).

Miranda wanted me to give her Alliance help for free. I told her to stuff it. If she wants help, she has to pay for it like everyone else.

I saw Jacob in the hospital. I walked on by.

I bumped into Wrex on my way back to the Normandy. Somehow the big stupid lizard found out I sabotaged the genophage cure. He tried to shoot me, so I put the old fart down. Unfortunately, he pulled out Krogan support so we are left without our best cannon fodder. Maybe I will throw the Salarians in that position instead. Or maybe the Vorcha. Yeah, the Vorcha sounds good; fast-breeding, hardy, and can be trained quickly to use weapons. Yeah, the Vorcha will work out perfectly.

Man, I could really use some shore leave.

I was fooling around in the Geth Consensus while one of the geth memories was playing. I was just rolling back and forth, killing time, when somehow I managed to fall through the floor geometry.

I paused the game and tried to load the last autosave but the game refused to let me select any option on the dialogue wheel except "Squad". That sucked. Had to shut the game off (go back to the Xbox dashboard) and then restart the game and load the last autosave.

And then when I loaded the last autosave, all my power cooldowns were wrong. 6.45 second Sabotage, 8 second Proximity Mine.... Not that I needed them for that mission but it gives me something to do while I wait for the geth memories to end so I can continue.

Well, yesterday, I tried starting over with the first Mass Effect, playing a class I've never played before (Sentinel) and taking a path I've never taken (Extreme Renegade, based on themikefest's list here) which has been surprisingly good fun. Before I ended for the night, I'd finished all the galaxy side quests pre-Feros/Novaria, destroyed 5 Geth Bases and shut down the VI on Earths Moon to became a Bastion. Next stop, Feros.

You have to wait for the memories to end? I could have sworn I've just triggered them and left before now.

Something to check on with my next run.

Went through Feros after work, killed all the colonists, killed Jeong, killed Shiala, killed a Thorian.. the body count continues to rise. I never tried playing a Sentinel before as they didn't look very good, but after getting a lot of skill points it's crazy powerful. Throw, Lift, Medicine, Stasis (with Bastion), Overload, etc.. if it moves I neutralize it, if it has shields I remove them, if it has weapons I overheat them, then it's dead seconds later. And with Electronics I have full shields and if they drop then full Barrier shields. It's crazy!

Talk to the crew tomorrow then off to Novaria.

I'm going to, though I'm sure it'll make ME2 a much shorter game.

That depends on what is done in ME2. Take a look at my kill all playthrough  if interested.
