That depends on what is done in ME2. Take a look at my kill all playthrough  if interested.

I've been following that playthrough so far. I just took a look at ME2 and was wondering what loyalty missions to do (or avoid) and also, you say some die due to no upgrades. Do you mean ship upgrades? Also, do I have to send specific squad members to do certain jobs during the suicide mission? I see Samara and Legion survive at the end, so I can do their loyalty missions?

Yes. I do mean ship upgrades. It doesn't matter if their loyalty missions are done or not. Three squadmates will die without the upgrades.

When sending squadmates for specific jobs during the suicide mission avoid using someone that is loyal and qualified for that job. Example. I sent Garrus through the vent and he died, even though he was loyal, because he's not a tech like Legion, Tali and Kasumi.

If you like, you can have Legion, Samara, Tali, Grunt and Zaeed survive. Just don't do Grunt's loyalty mission. He will die in ME3 when doing the Rachni mission. Save Zaeed's loyalty mission for after the suicide mission and choose to save the workers which will lead to him dying if the right dialogue is chosen.  Or recruit him after the suicide mission and then let him die during his loyalty mission. The same can be said about Grunt. If you want, let him out of his tank after the suicide mission

Tali, Samara and Legion can be loyal is you choose. They will die in ME3 when choosing the Geth and Samara kills herself.

If you're having a hard time figuring out who to do what and to die, here's a thread about the suicide mission that will help. You can post a question in that thread and folks will respond with their answers to questions you may have.

The reason why I did my playthrough the way I did is because it was set up for both high and low ems playthroughs in ME3.

Tenth Visit

Previous Post

Level 5 Sentinel

Throw Lv 1

Warp Lv 0

Tech Armor Lv 2

Overload Lv 1

Cryo Blast Lv 0

Defender Lv 2

Fortification Lv 1

(so no real changes yet)

-We had a lot of chatting and pauses throughout the game to talk about things (including distractions to Youtube), so not much was done this time.

-Playtime consisted of getting used to the Normandy, exploring most of Omega and chatting with Aria, and completing Mordin's Recruitment mission.

-Brought Miranda and Jacob by default, and she didn't like Zaeed so he may be benched; though she is SUPER looking forward to recruiting both Jack and Grunt, and only picked up Mordin first due to finding out that he is necessary for  upgrades.

-She is definitely getting more Renegade, but Paragon keeps popping up too... ugh. She does default usually to the Renegade stuff though, so hopefully she doesn't find herself in a place where she can't pick an option because it is greyed out.

This is all taking longer than I thought it would (I thought at first that we'd be able to finish the trilogy by the end of the year, and then at least ME2, but neither happened), but ME2 and ME3 tend to have a better pacing (IMO) for multiple play sessions, so I think we'll be fine. Kinda sad we didn't do ME1 completionist, but it is very understandable and she doesn't miss out on THAT much.

Next up is likely two or three more recruitment missions, at least one of which will be Jack or Grunt (she wants em both!). Maybe a visit to the Citadel if she really wants to. No N7 missions yet, and no DLC missions.

She's liking Jacob more than most do, but is generally negative about Miranda. She seems to like Mordin, but not very much. Seems the initial team will be more like Jack, Grunt, maybe Garrus, maybe Jacob. I think she misses Wrex hard.

We're playing on Normal (instead of ME1 Casual) this time and I had to help out at the ventilation area for Mordin's mission after she died twice near the end of the combat scenario. I dunno why they made that part so comparatively tough, for it being so early in the game.

Today I did.. not a lot. Not in the overall scheme of things at least. Killed Helena Blake, killed Dr. Ross, did a few other random side missions, popped back to the Citadel to finish a couple, then landed on the planet for Kohoku's Cerberus mission. Going to bed now. Still haven't started Novaria but have the option to drop on Virmire now too.

Lee Shepard was busy in these two days ;)

Saved Ex-Cerberus scientists, killed all the Ardat-Yakshi at the monastery, reactivated some fuel reactors, got beaten by Kai Leng on Thessia, saved Alliance communications hub, uncovered a sinister plot at the Sanctuary, destroyed Cerberus fighter base and their headquarters as well :)

Oh, and saved the galaxy :D

Just spent some time bombing around the galaxy in the first Mass Effect. Marvelling really at how much better the game looks with the high resolution texture mod installed.

Played some more of my Infiltrator:

1. Survived an ambush.

2. Relaxed at a casino. Made sure to hack two ATMs for some extra cash. Javik seemed to actually be in a good mood.

3. Stormed the Citadel archives. Shepard discovered she had an (evil-er) clone who then tried to kill her by sealing her in a vault.

4. Boarded the Normandy, then fought and killed the clone.

Next up: time to relax by picking up an artifact on Thessia. Should be easy.

(Infiltrator clone is a joke. You can tell immediately when you see it uses a Black Widow instead of a real weapon.)

Completed more of my Infiltrator playthrough:

1. Went looking for an artifact on Thessia, which turned out to be a Prothean VI. Inexplicably was beaten by Kai Leng, who then took the artifact (I blame Liara).

2. Vented my frustration on a bunch of Cerberus goons on some podunk Communications Hub.

3. Traveled to Sanctuary, Kai Leng's last known location. Discovered a hidden Cerberus research facility under Sanctuary. Watched Miranda kill her father, then watched her take her last breaths. I never liked her anyway.

Up next:

1. Throw a party.

2. Kill Cerberus in the balls.

3. Liberate Earth.

4. Destroy the Reapers.

5. Profit ???

I skipped ME1 this time because even with MEUTIM, I still get bored of its gameplay at the beginning. And since I only have a few days before I go back to college, I said screw it and skipped to ME2. I am going unfortunately very slow compared to past playthrough because I find PC controls to be more of a hassle than an Xbox 360 controller and I am having trouble adapting [don't get mad, PC players, just my opinion. I've only been a PC player for a week now]. Plus the fact that these games look absolutely GORGEOUS on PC with mods and the natural 60 fps and I keep finding myself just staring at the screen twirling my mouse watching the smoothness!

At least, I've got texture mods for ME1 and ME3 minus the Citadel DLC. Are there any text mods that are permenant for ME2? All I have found is temporary face texture ones, and the only mod I found for the game was one that allows you to start Arrival after the SM and to get faster loading screens...

okay, back inside the 4 walls... Shepard has recruited Garrus, Mordin, and Grunt now he is debating his next move. Get Subject Zero now or wait and go recruit Kasumi? A representative from the Normandy has just informed me that he has made a decision and I need to return to find out what he decided

I finally finished my ME1 playthrough (it took me long enough...DA:I and SWTOR kept me distracted).

Embraced eternity with Liara!!!!!!

ScreenShot00089_zpse104b242.jpg

I also rescued the council and saved the galaxy.

Hopper Saren is still annoying. But my Shepard is glad that the council finally recognized the reaper treat and that everyone agreed to work together... <_<

I don't know if it is a side effect of the Lazarus Project coming to haunt Shepard or what, but after he paid a visit to Ashley after she got badly injured on Mars, every time he tried to travel through the elevator to visit the council to ask for help with the war, he has a combination heart attack, stroke, and acid trip throwing us beyond the 4th wall and back to my desktop

Now I sit here praying that repairing the game through Origin won't remove my texture mods, the extended Anderson conversation mod, and the ken and gabby mod since I didn't use texmod. Anyone had this happen to you and could set my mind at ease?

ever since "repairing" the game, the game will not authorize my damn DLC that I already had.

I swear, I am really starting to regret purchasing this game on PC. Talk about a waste of $30 plus the god knows how much $$ on all the DLC. <_<

If you installed the Extended Anderson Conversation as DLC then it also installed the patch to avoid the game rejecting the DLC. Try reinstalling it to put that patch back.

Finished my Infiltrator playthrough;

1. Threw a big party. Everybody got drunk.

2. Attacked Cerberus Headquarters. Killed Phantom Jack, something called a Legion Assassin, and Lieutenant Bast--d Kai Leng. Recovered the Prothean VI.

3. Destroyed a Hades Cannon.

4. Took a tour through London (Anderson was born there). Killed a Reaper with Thanix Missiles since they can do a f--k ton of damage.

5. Ran towards a beam of light. Got shot by Harbinger, but was saved by healthgate.

6. Turn the difficulty down to Normal, shot three husks and a Marauder.

7. Suffered through the next 10-15 minutes because you cannot skip through dialogue at this point.

8. Shot Mr. Illusive. Talked to some glowing thing. Blew up the Crucible which killed the Reapers. Maybe. It was all so hazy.

9. Relaxed.

Next up:

1. Finish my Claymore/Shockwave Adept playthrough in ME3.

2. Finish my Tank Sentinel playthrough in ME3.

3. Play a Bulletless Soldier in ME3, create a strategy thread about it.

... and somewhere in all that create one or two new posts on BSN that I have been sitting on for months now and am procrastinating on getting it done.

Played some of my Claymore/Shockwave Adept:

1. Traveled to a Monastery, blew it up. Stopped Samara from killing herself.

2. Got my butt handed to me trying to rescue some ex-Cerberus Scientists. That is what I get for not bringing biotic squadmates I guess... and for sucking at this game. I hate Phantoms, and Garrus using Proximity Mine for no good reason, and Cerberus shield generators.

3. Visited my new apartment (thanks Anderson!), met Joker for sushi, then survived an ambush. I hate that mission; the ambush-specific Suppressor is a piece of crap; it inexplicably weighs more than most other weapons in the game including the Claymore.

As it was the weekend I had plenty of time, so I finished up a bunch of side missions, finally worked out how to get BDtS working on Steam and did that, went through Novaria and Ilos, then finally killed Saren. I managed to do everything on themikefest's list so I'm all set up to go into ME2 now. I'd forgotten all about the ending music for ME1, I do like that tune by Faunts.

Think I'll take a little break and try out Dragon Age: Origins before continuing with ME2. I've tried playing it so many times, but get an hour in and get bored with it, so am going to make a determined effort this time.
