Bargh! The Hanar Diplomat mission has glitched!

Will have to Gibb it when I get home.

For now - Genophage cured, Citadel Coup repelled, and Liara given the "Let's be friends" talk. :)

Took EDI and Liara to Citadel coup mission for the first time. Gave me a whole new perspective on EDI's character. Destroy is now even more appealing :D

I've had a sad realisation this evening. When ME:N is finally announced I think I'm going to have to draw a line under the Shepard trilogy and make sure to give myself a lengthy Mass Effect gap before the new game. It's the only thing that I can think of that might stop me constantly comparing the new game to the old trilogy.

Every single time I play through the old game(s) I'm reminded of just how much I adore the story, and most of all the characters. Looking at it rationally there's no reason that BW won't come up with great characters in the next game as well, and I realise it's silly to compare the games to each other, but I honestly doubt that I'll be able to stop myself from doing it. The Shepard trilogy has flaws, there's no getting away from that, but, the positives massively outweigh the negatives for me, so BW coming up with something comparable (in terms of my adoration of it) is going to be akin to catching lightening in a bottle, for a second time!

Damn it, BW have got their work cut out for themselves.....

Beat Sanctuary and the Communications Hub with my Shockwave/Claymore Adept.

I sucked at Sanctuary, dying a few times at that part with the three Rachni. But I always found that part annoying. The layout is not really conducive to an aggressive approach. Plus the barrier engines are always dumb (same with Cerberus shield generators).

I will be glad when I finish this playthrough. Even with the Claymore, Shockwave, and rotating squadmates, I just have a hard time keeping interest with the Adept. I just find it kind of dull and I can pretty much do the same things with the Sentinel.

All that's left are the Armax Arena missions, throw the party, Cerberus HQ, then Earth.

Then its on to my Tank Sentinel, which probably will not take too long since I plan on playing only priority missions.

Found a mod that lets me wear Predator M X armour in Mass Effect 3. I've never been more excited for a replay.

Still pretty new to ME, having purchased the trilogy last November.

Currently doing a run of ME2, and have finished recruiting and loyalty quests for everyone except Legion.

I just bought Arrival, Leviathan, The Citadel DLCs.

I'm thinking I'll do Arrival after the SM, and it should create a new save for import to ME3 - is that right?

TIA

That's right.

I usually make a save even though the game automatically makes one for the player.

Did the Geth-Quarian arc last night. As a non-canon playthrough all 12 crew survived the SM in ME2 so I had the original Legion. (My canon has Legion sold to Cerberus and ZERO trust for the monstrosity found in the Geth DN, man I wish we could take Javik's advice) Made peace between the two sides. I still don't know why he needs to disseminate himself for the upload to be complete but w/e at this point. I think I'll wrap up Leviathan after Thessia, as I find the revelations flow better in that order. I'm looking forward to the Citadel DLC, it's been a while since I've done it. Going for the quiet party I think as the Traynor-Shepard-EDI-Joker dialog is more expansive and funnier. I've 80% decided on paragon control with a headcanon epilogue of SuperShepardlyst having a physical avatar created for her.

I love distrustful dialogue with Geth VI

"And that makes me less likely to shoot you... how?" :D

I understand Admiral Xen now. Nothing beats seeing a Geth Trooper hopping on a turret and mowing down its former allies, including Primes and Pyros :D I also got access to Armax Arena and generate cash from soloing Geth Super Elites with all modifiers (except enhanced player damage) :D

Yeah, there's some gold in there. I also like the cold reaction it gets from Tali, as opposed to the hippie Tali that befriends Legion.

Correct.

I recommend resetting you talent points before making the save and importing it. That way you can spend all the points as you see fit when you first start ME3.

If you don't already have them then I'd also prioritise Lair of the Shadow Broker DLC for ME2 and From Ashes for ME3....

Shadow Broker and Citadel are by far and away the best bits of DLC in the whole franchise IMO.

Bit of a frustrating night for me. Played some more of my Claymore/Shockwave Adept. I was was not trying very hard, so even basic enemies were killing me in the Armax Arena. And TWICE the game glitched by not spawning enemies into the arena near the end of a round so I had to reload a previous save.

I hate the ME3 Adept. No scratch that; I hate ME3 biotics. So boring to me. Even the Claymore and Shockwave cannot make the Adept very interesting to me. So glad I am almost done.

But at least I got to hear this again:

"I don't want to shoot at keepers! They're so cute with their little round eyes and their silent... sneaky ways. You know, on second thought..."

I put my zany vanguard together over at DA in something like a comic format:

Don't know if I'm going to do anything with my other pictures though.

The trilogy came with a lot of DLC - including Bring Down The Sky, Kasumi, Zaeed, Firewalker, Overlord, LotSB.

I think LotSB may be my very favorite DLC ever, a rare treat for a Liara-mancer - though I can certainly understand non-Liara-mancers being not too keen on some aspects of it. Without it, I'd be a pretty sad panda in ME2 for not having my favorite squaddie and LI alongside.

I might pick up From Ashes and Omega at some point - I've seen some of the youtubes with Javik, and really like Aria. No surprise to see her name at the top of the high scores lists at the Arena and Arcade. At this point, I still have a lot of new (to me) content to explore.

Temporarily abandoned my current ME2 playthrough and instead loaded up an ME3 save to explore The Citadel DLC content. One of the more expensive DLCs I've ever purchased, and worth every penny.

The Citadel DLC isn't for everyone and I guess it depends on your view of fan-service and whether or not you think it was appropriate for the last bit of new content for the trilogy. Personally, loved it. The narrative ending of ME3 fell completely flat for me. Luckily, the Citadel DLC was not only the literal end, but it also gave a more than just satisfactory emotional ending to the trilogy.

LotSB - I really enjoy that one whether romancing Liara or not. Granted, it's better still if you are, but even if you're not it's still a great DLC. Kasumi was pretty good too.

Re Omega and From Ashes - I'd prioritise the latter. Omega is alright, especially if you like combat and/or Aria, but From Ashes is far more important to the overall story. Plus, Javik is great. Omega is pretty much standalone, you go off and do it, then bang, done. From Ashes, you do the initial mission and then Javik is present throughout the rest of the game, so it feels a lot more organic an integration.

Personally I wouldn't call any ME DLC bad per se, except Pinnacle Station for ME.....

As a suggestion, I would get Leviathan since it give's a beginning to the reapers and a couple of extra lines of dialogue when talking to the Catalyst.

Pretty sure they've got Leviathan Mike, but I'd agree that if that's not the case then it should also be prioritised.

Given what they add, both Leviathan and From Ashes should have been on the disc to begin with....

That's one of the things I find a bit frustrating about the constant mechanics changes game to game. I tend to be a stickler for character consistency, so my ME1 soldier is also a soldier in ME2&3 - but the gameplay changed immensely - so my character's combat behavior had to change accordingly.

My ME1 soldier had heavy armor, health regen, shield regen, immunity, and was able to use medi-gel, which made her large and in charge of the battlefield, rarely needing to hide behind cover. That same soldier can't be nearly as aggressive in ME2-3 - and I find the gameplay to be not nearly as much fun.
