The Citadel DLC isn't for everyone and I guess it depends on your view of fan-service and whether or not you think it was appropriate for the last bit of new content for the trilogy. Personally, loved it. The narrative ending of ME3 fell completely flat for me. Luckily, the Citadel DLC was not only the literal end, but it also gave a more than just satisfactory emotional ending to the trilogy.

One of the most enjoyable aspects of Bioware games are the characters, relationships, and interactions with them - so that sort of fanservice delights me. The form of fanservice that features deep wedgie ass shots, not so much.

I think The Citadel DLC was sorely needed to lighten the mood after the ending.

Given what they add, both Leviathan and From Ashes should have been on the disc to begin with....

Probably - but I won't kick too hard about spending a few extra bucks for something that provides so much entertainment value. I sure would like the N7 hoodie, though.

Luckily The Citadel DLC is more of the former kind of fan service, although there is that scene with Wrex where....no no no, spoilers! :D

It was more the principle, especially with From Ashes which was a day one DLC. Still, I caved and got it, and would never play the game without it.

So I managed Thessia, Horizon and the Leviathan arc last night. No big surprises here, Miri survived and I swapped my particle rifle for a Saber/Hurricane combo. Started up Citadel DLC and listened to a few of Anderson's datapads before realizing it was 130am and I had a sales presentation to do in the morning, luckily not till 1030 but still. Packed it in, will get Citadel done tonight. I left Fuel Reactors and Communications Base undone, as I like to do them post-party to suit my headcanon better. Basically I ignore Miri's tracker on Kai Leng and headcanon that Intelligence is tracking down the Cerberus HQ and that it takes a week or so to assemble the fleet for the attack to leave room for doing Citadel without feeling like a shirker. I can accept the crew taking a long weekend off even at the height of the war if I assume that the Normandy badly needs a refit for the final push, that we are still tracking down Cerberus HQ and that the fleets take some time to shake down.

That's one of the things I find a bit frustrating about the constant mechanics changes game to game. I tend to be a stickler for character consistency, so my ME1 soldier is also a soldier in ME2&3 - but the gameplay changed immensely - so my character's combat behavior had to change accordingly.

My ME1 soldier had heavy armor, health regen, shield regen, immunity, and was able to use medi-gel, which made her large and in charge of the battlefield, rarely needing to hide behind cover. That same soldier can't be nearly as aggressive in ME2-3 - and I find the gameplay to be not nearly as much fun.

My current character has almost completely the same playstyle in all three games :)

Engineer with Overload, Hacking and Inferno Grenade as powers and Avenger + Predator in his loadout. I also use Tempest with Ultralight materials in ME3 for some cutscenes where Thermal Scope clips through the Avenger when Shepard holsters it :)

I wonder whose sadistic idea it was to lock a weapon mod with Relay Defence high score...

I spent maybe an hour playing that blasted game until I finally passed the mark with mere 10 points! And the one with the high score? Mouse! Really? :D

I've never successfully beaten Relay Defense, what mod do you get as reward?

Perhaps they were trying torture SP users like the RNG store tortures MP users. At any rate, I dislike the idea of "randomized" loot, whether it be random drops, playing some stupid mini-game and perhaps failing, or just not finding the item. DAI has really driven home how antithetical random drops are to character progression.

I agree, I'd take Relay Defense over randomized loot every time. But I would not have put a weapon mod as a prize for it. Unique apartment decoration, different pattern for the armor... Something that does not impact player's combat effectiveness in any way.

Makes me wonder, what did Mouse do with that weapon mod? :D

I do not bother to play any of those games for the mods. Ever.

I think there is one game that has one decent mod (a non-Ultra Light Materials mod, maybe the sniper barrel?) but I do not care.

Shattered Eezo is the easiest to beat. I discovered a tactic to get mods from Claw game as well. But Relay Defense is just all about reflexes and attention. And with my somewhat old keyboard and mouse it was a pain to do :D

The Claw game is the only one I put up with. It usually takes me 20-30 minutes of tedium to get all four mods, but they are worth it: SMG power amp, Pistol power amp, Sniper Rifle barrel, and some other one. Basically, I just see where the orange thing shows up most often, position the claw over it and wait for the timer to expire. Not perfect, but at least I am not getting frustrated trying to test my reflexes. I just let the timer decide when the claw drops.

What platform are you playing on? You can use the Gibbed save editor to unlock it for the PC and Xbox versions of the game.

Today I had to leave a man behind on Virmire. Damn you Saren, you are going to pay for that.

Finished the rest of the Armax Arena missions with my Claymore/Shockwave Adept. That was painful. I think it is very obvious that I need to play multiplayer again to gain some of lost "skills" back. (Wait, did I even have skills to begin with? Probably not.) But I really do not feel like multiplayer at the moment. Maybe in a few weeks.

Threw a party. Good thing I will never go back to the apartment since Garrus booby-trapped a bunch of stuff. I already forget the code...

Replaying the trilogy, beat ME and started ME2.

Restarted four times to remake my Shepard, and each time I deleted him because of something small and inconsequential but it simply drove me nuts.

I do every game except for Relay Defence since I find them easy. Relay Defence is such nonsense though, and so hard with a controller. I just skip playing it, and the ultralight materials mod shows up as a normal pick up if when I play through the main Citadel DLC mission in a NG+

From memory - BroShep, Wrex (or Grunt, I forget which), Tali, and these two. Think that's it. No Sam, no Ashley, and not even Liara!

Happy with those two though. :)

Recruited Mordin and Garrus.

My Shepard is Colonist with ruthless reputation. Mostly Paragon, but when he meets Batarians or slavers, he sees red and will make renegade options.
