Had brief chats with Kasumi and Zaeed and Jacob. Learned about Miranda's father and how she was created. I'm warming up to her and pity her a bit. Also talked to Garrus before he returned to his very important work.

Fed my fish and checked on Space Hamster 3 times.

Gave our cook the ingredients, but denied his food offer.

Went to see Dr. Chakwas and shared that brandy I brought with her. She told me a story about Kaidan and Jenkins, and the real reason why she is on board, to take care of Joker and help him with his illness. Such a lovely person. We had a toast to our friends. Maybe we overdid it. My vision was blurry and I found Dr. Chakwas asleep.

Sobered up, became the krantt for the Patriarch on Omega, killed some mercs, delivered a datapad to Aria and received some cashe coordinates from her.

On to the Quarantine Zone where I shot my way through to Mordin Solus. Will look for his assistent Daniel next.

I just wrapped up a suicide mission run. 6 dead, which is a personal record for a run where I'm not actually trying to get people killed.

A little background first. Katherine Shepard is my attempt to check off a few things from my Sheplist. I'm looking for a pure RP run, so no doing sidequests because I know the main quest will sit there and wait for me, etc. A non-charismatic Shepard -- no dialogue skills in ME1, class power comes last in ME2, no scanning Rep points in ME3. Something of a FailShep given the above, so let's romance Jacob. And, eventually, too Paragon to do anything but Refuse, so really a total FailShep. Finally, my personal playstyle is to immediately do Reaper IFF the moment it's available, and immediately do all N7s picked up by scanning.

No dialogue skills and no SQs meant that Wrex died in ME1. (Kaidan too since Ashley ended up at the bomb.) I started ME2 at the Citadel, and then did the first four RMs in a new order for me, Grunt-Jack-Mordin-Garrus. Then Horizon starts the mission clock. While mining I tripped two N7s, and after recruiting everybody it was time for the Collector Cruiser and Reaper IFF-- didn't even have time to do Miranda's LM. After that, Omega was closest so Morinth dies next. The next closest LM is Tali; didn't have enough Charm to beat this but I was able to rally the crowd since I actually killed thie Colossus on Haestrom fast enough to save Kal'Reegar -- first time I managed to save him that way. Then the crew gets abducted. Of course, any Shep who's idealistic enough to Refuse is going to try to save her crew. So here we go with only Samara and Tali loyal, though the ship's fully upgraded.

Tali's the obvious choice for the vent mission, but there's no good second fireteam leader. So I pick Miranda, and Tali takes a rocket to the face. We rescue the crew, but with Samara needed to fend off the seeker swarms, there's no good choice to send back with them. I pick Zaeed for no really good reason, and Garrus leads the second squad since he's apoarently as good as anyone else who's left. Exit Zaeed and Garrus, and on to the final battle. I pick Thane and Samara because they've got the best power selection. Samara lives, Thane dies, Jack and Mordin die holding the line, and Shepard hands over the base to TIM. Amazingly bad results considering all the choices were made in good faith.

Should be interesting in ME3. I see a fake genophage cure in the krogan future. Not sure about Rannoch. And with Thane and Kirrahe dead, maybe this is the time Shepard guns Ashley down.

So, Shep is just a bit confused about a couple of things.

 

Why does Liara have eyebrows?

 

Who the hell thought that allowing the Blue Suns (criminal mercs) to run a prison ship was a good idea?

 

These actually do require answers.

 

Didn't have enough paragon points for geth/quarian love fest so had to reload. Bugger.

 

Kaidan wants to take it slow - a sanity check. It's going to drive Shep crazy.

 

Kelly Chambers is evil.

 

Liara's eyebrows are part of her shadow broker disguise, as in, "You know who's the shadowbroker? That asari with the eyebrows!" .. "Pffft, that's impossible. Everybody knows asari don't have eyebrows. It's gotta be someone else." 

 

Short answer? Vido Santiago. ...but really, that prtison was probably making the organization a boatload of money, with Kuril's extortion rackets. I'm sure that, 'officially' most of the money he made went to the Blue Suns, and he was keeping a chunk for himself. I'm sure it was a pretty big chunk, and he may even have been skimming off the top. in fact, we probably did Vido a favour shutting that place down... in a way. Besides, the prison was outside council space. Who else was gonna police it?

I am pretty much ignoring all gaming this week, although I am keeping up with this thread and some Vazgen videos. 

I am busy editing all the footage I took over the weekend and slowly uploading the results.

 

Anyway, this is the last video I uploaded: Bulletless Soldier gets ambushed by CAT6 on the Citadel. (Run time: 23:03).

 

This was probably the outright toughest mission for me, even though I died more times on other (later) missions. This was due mainly to the Fake Suppressor killing my cooldowns and not having my power damage armor and Pistol Power Amplifier mod.

 

Under normal circumstances I would use Energy Drain a lot, and probably follow up with a few grenades for tech bursts, but it is kind of tough to do on this mission. So I end up spamming Concussive Shot, switching between Disruptor Ammo (for more shield damage) and Incendiary Ammo to fire-explode health... but the Disruptor Drones kept getting in the way. And the few times I did try to use Energy Drain, I ended up hitting cover instead enemy shields.

Just didn't get around to any ME today which means Admiral Korus is still stuck on Rannoch.

Shepard has been making the galaxy a safer place. Also, he made Conrad Verner cry. Poor Conrad. I suspect that photo of Shep is going to be burnt now - like one of those 'getting over your ex' rituals you see sometimes in films. Conrad seems like that kind of guy. Though perhaps now his poor wife can finally catch a break!

 

It turns out the guy who'd been killing scientists was a soldier named Toombs. He'd been tortured by this scientist group, and they'd been responsible for a thresher maw attack that wiped out his unit. This sounds awfully similar to that job Shep was investigating for Kahoku. Two similar incidents can't be coincidence! Shep shot the scientist in the head, and Hackett even thanked him for it. Today is clearly a good day!

 

He was greeted as 'The Butcher of Torfan' by Major Kyle, who seems to have had a bit of sanity slippage in the past few years. Shep really doesn't like the name 'butcher'. It makes him sound like he cuts people up to eat them! Who would eat batarians? That's just nasty. Since Kyle was his old commander, Shep decided to be nice and just threaten him into submission, instead of killing everyone.

 

Shep now feels prepared to take on whatever's at Peak 15. The mountainside was covered in snow and geth, but there were clear skies. So much for this blizzard! Shepard smells a cover up. The scientists and guards at the facility were acting really shifty too. There were a bunch of people in a medlab with strange injuries, but the doctor said he had a non-disclosure agreement and couldn't talk about it. Fine, doc. You want to look a gift Spectre in the mouth, that's your mistake. Shep isn't going out of his way to help.

 

The distinct lack of answers and asari were really starting to grate on Shep's nerves, when he spotted a restricted access area. What could they be trying to restrict a Spectre from seeing?? More of the freaky bugs? Naturally, he decided to barge through, guns blazing. Those guards didn't stand a chance! One blast of Singularity and Lift, and they're stuck to the ceiling.

 

Shep's impatience turned out to be beneficial, because this path led them straight to Benezia. She is officially his least favourite asari, what with the ugly hat and murderous intentions. They took down the commando unit fairly easily, but after Benezia gave them the Mu Relay data, she turned Shep into paste. Next time Shep was ready, and ran away fell back to a better position until Benezia was dead. He didn't need any prompting from Ashley to set off the bug-spray and kill the rachni Queen. Possessing dead people to talk to him is creepy enough, he doesn't want the galaxy full of murderous rachni. The Council were annoyed, but hey - the Council are always annoyed.

me: I do. This is for the crew. Bananas are a healthy food. I sent a memo to everyone's omni-tool to have as many bananas as possible and to place the peels in that crate over there.

Steve: I'm beginning to understand the purpose of the bananas.

me: Keep it to yourself Cortez. 

 

Liara: Will you now tell us why we have backpacks filled with bananas Shepard?

James. Yeah. I like to know myself

me: Watch and learn.

 

I eat a banana and throw the peel in the direction the husks are. A husk slips on the peel, flies up in the air and lands on another husk. I fire my weapon killing the things

 

Liara: I don't get it. You can get the same result by just shooting them

me: True. But if several peels are on the ground, a bunch of uglies will be incapacitated making it very easy to shoot them dead.

James: How will that affect the reapers themselves? Wait a minute.....Your not proposing that a large number of peels can takeout a reaper are you?

me: Ding, ding, ding. We have a winner. They may not destroy them, but it will cause them to fall to the ground never to get back up again. Now the smaller ones can get back up. In that case, once its down, a ship comes in to destroy it

Liara: Are you telling me this simple food will defeat the reapers? What about the ones in space surrounding the homeworlds?

me: yes. The ones in space will be tricky. Back in India where I got the bananas, the company is making banana pudding in mass quantity. The pudding will be put in the main guns of the ships to fire at the reapers. The pudding itself won't damage the reaper, but if fired in the right spot will cause the reaper not to see/sense what's in front of it.

James: WHAT? You're full of sh*t Commander. A food that we eat can do that. Who told you this?

me: I made a deal with a reaper after I defeated the collectors. It told me about a weakness the reapers have that will help to defeat them.

Liara: You're now making deals with reapers. What was the deal?

me: That is one thing I won't reveal. Enough. We have to get Victus and then later go to Sur'Kesh to get a female Krogan

Liara: Is this another one of you seeing the future?

me: Yes. Lets move

 

James and Liara look like they're having fun watching the uglies slip, slide and die. Good.

 

Wreav: I want the genophage cured.

me: Nope. The female Krogan will die, the cure is sabotaged and I get salarian aid.

Victus: What are you talking about Commander?

me: It is. I wasn't sure if I had Wrex alive after Virmire or not and I didn't want to shoot him in the back. Since Wreav is here and the female will die, you will live.

I look over to see Liara and James having fun watching the Cerberus troopers sliding and dying from the banana peels. This is too funny. Something so simple can be so powerful. Cool

 

Lets head to Grissom and give Kathlee the bad news

Went around the Traverse, meet with that pesky shifty-eyes cow. Went to Virmire but there's no way I'm going to kill off all my biotic bad boys. Goodbye Ash. Sorry, you're not a badass Major or badass King of Tuchanka in ME3.

And then we went back to Citadel, talk to the council, did some quests, badass Anderson, steal a ship, got laid, go to Ilos, teleported to Citadel, kill off a lot of heretics, talk dirty with Saren, save the council, Reaperized Saren is waaayy creepy, unlocked Insanity... and Battlestar Galactica's OST really fits the ending...

Even my Wrex-betraying, krogan-genociding, rachni-genociding, quarian-genociding, council-killing, Ken-and-Gabby-sacrificing, Joker-EDI-togetherness-discouraging shep never made Conrad cry! I'm impressed

Renegade/Death-Prone  Shepard on insanity ...

 

Shepard just finished Feros so it was time to go round all the crew and ask about their feelings. Tali was first and she sounded a little depressed but Shepard is running out of patience with his own crew. He more or less shouted at her saying "WHAT'S YOUR PROBLEM!?" . Tali fell back in line without saying another word. Shepard then went to Ashley and she is not happy sharing the ship with aliens. Shepard interpreted this as Ashley questioning his command and he would have probably thrown her off the ship at this point given the opportunity. Shepard couldn't be bothered to speak to the other crew members.

 

The next stop was the planet Eletania as it was not too far from Feros. The mission is to collect a data module and should've been an easy mission. The data module had been moved by a monkey . Shepard mowed down some monkeys on the way to the mine shaft just because he wanted more renegade points. The monkeys retaliated though as they had set up a Geth ambush in the mine shaft. Shepard died by Geth snipers near the entrance (I think there were about 4 crouched behind a rock). Reloaded and the same thing happened so Dr Chakwas might need a raise with all the extra hours patching Shepard up . Third attempt was no better because somehow the Mako got jammed between the mine shaft and a rock. Mission was complete on the fourth attempt.

 

Shepard went back to the Citadel to get some better gear. Rear Admiral Mikhailovich was the greeting party when he touched down. Shepard denied the inspection because he now has SPECTRE privileges. Went down the elevator and Shepard was contacted about a Mindoir woman at the Docking Bay (He could have said this a few seconds ago when Shepard was in the Docking Bay ). Shepard wasn't concerned and replied "if she wants to die; let her die". Al Jilani wanted an interview and was granted. Al Jilani was painting Shepard as anti-alien so the interview was cut short through a punch. This assault was captured on camera for the world to see as well. Verner was in the market again and Shepard told him to stop wasting his time. Conrad replied saying that he will show Shepard how to get things done (This is a deja vu moment as I got this comment a few days ago ). Shepard also met a couple arguing about a baby and resolved their issue. He also deactivated a rogue AI. Shepard returned to the Normandy but the Mindoir woman was still hanging about the Docking Bay. Shepard took the situation in his own hands by sedating Talitha. Once on board the Normandy, Hackett informed Shepard that the press punch wasn't okay.

 

Back to exploration and Shepard returned to the Keppler Verge to try and solve the mercs in a research base problem (which I failed to do a couple of days ago). The results were the same . Shepard returned to the base and managed to kill one merc and then retreated.

 

Shepard went back to the Armstrong area to clear out the remaining Geth outposts.

Wrong move, Udina He got lucky though, if it was a gameplay situation he would've been exposed to Incinerate, Warp (fire explosion) followed with a Shockwave for a biotic combo and maximum awesomeness

I am on my second playthrough of the entire triology. My first playthrough was Jane Shepard no romance whatsoever, pure paragon and infiltrator.

 

Now I played as John... romanced... Tali and I am surprised about how much I have missed in terms of content, how the dialogue changes over-time even Mordin's dying scene dialogue changed. God this game is amazing... sadly the last part of it is somewhat rushed by EA but still... totally worth it.

Miranda, Jacob and I reached Daniel, I let the Batarians go and sent Daniel back to Mordin.

Died once in the attempt to spread the cure through the vents, managed the second time, yay. The plague is cured.

Returned to Mordin and met him back at the Normandy. He seems like a cool fella.

Scanned a few planets and upgraded some stuff.

I got ME2 back up and working, not sure what was wrong, but had to re-install it on my pc.  So brought over Hanna from ME1 and just asked Tali if the information I gave her helped.
