I like soldier shep because sometimes I don't want to set up combos and spam hotkeys, I just want to shoot all the bad guys.

Today I rescued Lt. Victus and what was left of the 9th platoon on Tuchanka. Back on the Normandy, I overheard Garrus grinding James' gears about all the worm-necks he and Javik killed while James sat in the shuttle bay and cleaned his rifle. James looked like he was about to snap Garrus in half, so I interrupted.

The 9th Platoon's mission was to stop Cerberus from detonating an enormous bomb on the most densely populated part of Tuchanka, but they were down thirty men and Victus asked for my help.

"Thirty turians?" James laughed, "That's ten of them to one of us. Sounds right."

Garrus smirked and said, "Prove it Jimmy."

So we went back to Tuchanka, caught up with Cerberus and killed all their guys.

I found the Soldier class fairly dull to be honest.

I'm right there with you.  I just finished a soldier trilogy run, and that will probably be the last time I play that class.  The only redeeming aspect is the gun variety in ME3.

Back on topic - my adept Shep just saved some Asari named Liara from the geth.  And now she's a part of my crew?  Well, I'm sure that will only last until we see what the deal is with her mother.  Now it's time to see what's going on with Exogeni on Ferros.

I didn't do anything in the triliogy, but last night I started playing Dead Space 3 and because I had an ME3 save, I unlocked the Mass Effect N7 armor for Dead Space 3.

That armor looks badass, too. I like using it as long as I can.

A pretty slow day for anti-social Shepard. In order for Omega to become available, I had to talk to Aria at least once in Purgatory. Got that taken care of, and also dropped off a few more statues and gizmos. Took back a Noveria fighter base from Cerberus, then went back to the Citadel to meet up with Aria and her fleet. Crash-landed on Omega, killed a bunch of Cerberus mooks, met Nyreen, and finally made it to the bunker on D deck. Now heading out to recruit the Talons to help with the fight.

My plan was to split leviathan up into three separate missions, one before the genophage cure, and the other two sometime after the coup, but I ended up playing the entire leviathan arc all at once. I wish I'd waited for the final part now, because I haven't locked in Liara's romance yet, and I didn't get the romance specific dialogue with her after getting back to the Normandy.

Oh well, off to buy a big gun that fire thresher maws.

I'm 6 hours into my 1st ME1 play through and I've reached the point of no return at Ilos. I actually should have finished the play through by now, but I had to spend an hour and a half using the Therum XP glitch to level up my Soldier so that I wouldn't need to do more than 2 play throughs of the game. My Shepard is currently level 54 so I will reach level 55 or even 56 by the end of the game, meaning I can go through my 2nd play through properly without worrying about whether or not I'll reach level 60.

I must say I'm angry that I didn't play as the Soldier earlier, the class is amazing. Immunity is the most glorious power of all time, enemies can't touch me. Being able to use all the weapons is amazing, I've never used the sniper rifle in the series before, and I've had so much fun just sniping enemies from a long distance away. I've purchased the Spectre Assault rifle, Sniper rifle and Pistol and I'm destroying enemies with them, this will probably be the same weapons I use throughout the trilogy. I'm avoiding the Shotgun since I used it all the time as a Vanguard, so it was time for a bit of a change.

I'll finish my current play through when I get home from work in the afternoon and then I'll start my proper canon play through sometime tonight. This time, in actually going to make decisions I know deep down that I would make in real life even though I may deny it, such as killing the Rachni and letting the Council die to focus on Sovereign, decisions I have pussied out of many times before, I'm throwing metagaming out of the airlock.

I am going to see how far i can get my female Infiltrator in mass effect 1, already did a male, but realy prefer females, so now i am doing a few female runs and one male vanguard as vanguards are fun. After my infiltrator i have a adept and vanguard left to do, not sure yet which i will do first.

I like having the queen dead in ME3 so I can kill the breeder and save Aralakh company, but I really hated killing her on Noveria. I don't think I can do it again. No such problem with killing the Council however.

:D Took me a minute but I got it. Awesome.

Today the gang cured the genophage. No matter how many times I've played ME3, that whole arc is still my favorite part of the game.

Feros finished finally. Took a break from ME1 so it took a while.

Killed the Exogeni guy. Had to. Didn't have enough Charm. Likely doing a NG+ anyway (I'm on Hardcore, so Insanity for NG+).

Saved the colony otherwise. Spared Shi'ala.

That whole final run against creepers was stupid hard. :( Had to pace myself a lot through it.

I'd say I'm 1/2 way through the game now.

I really love both the Tuchanka and Rannoch arcs. I know people like to pick and prod at Rannoch, but my first impression of it on my first trilogy run was nothing but positive.

I won't argue that. Despite the fact that the whole boss fight with the Reaper Destroyer lacked any kind of sense, it was also very satisfying, especially the renegade interrupt.

I didn't even pay attention to how much or how little sense it made at the time. I admit, I was really pleased with the slow-mo sequence as you aim into its cannon. I never shot Legion, but I'm surprised by how many renegade interrupts there are for that sequence. It's like the game is saying "Here, go nuts! lol"

I sometimes wish we had that many interrupts for other characters.

Same. Rannoch is right up there too, but as much as I like Legion, his sacrifice just didn't have the same impact on me as Mordin's did.

I shot Legion in my DefaultNewMaleShep playthrough. But only 1-2 times. :(

And I don't think Legion's sacrifice is supposed to be as emotional anyway. I mean it has elements of emotion, but its a more calculated move (both logically and thematically), than a transcendent one (especially with Paddok's dialogue if he's the one in Tuchanka).

I finished ME3 with my favourite playthrough for the first time in over a year. Stupidity aside, it still makes me breath in and out through my nose very quickly.

I dunno, maybe it was just Mordin singing that damn song when the roof blew off the Shroud.  :)

I think Mordin's death works more as it has that tragic redemption factor to it and it has some build up to it, maybe not story wise but it makes sense given his character arc. Legion's death for me just comes off as too forced. Besides the obvious hiccup about why Legion as a network of programs just can't copy himself, there was nothing in the story that at all built up to its sacrifice, Legion just died for the sake of drama. Which I guess is fine but in this case it wasn't done well and it creates a bit of a dissonance.

There is also that whole bit about Legion coming off as a completely different character and the Geth losing some of their uniqueness.

My secondary Shep is a soldier, and I discovered that with my second playthrough, I had the bonus of being able to give him a biotic power, so I added throw to his list of talents. That essentially turns ME1 Shep into a super vanguard.
