My secondary Shep is a soldier, and I discovered that with my second playthrough, I had the bonus of being able to give him a biotic power, so I added throw to his list of talents. That essentially turns ME1 Shep into a super vanguard.

What about Lift and Singularity? I thought the coolest part about the ME1 Vanguard was clustering a group of enemies with biotics then cracking them open with Carnage.

Those powers are good too, and I used Liara and Kaidan to suspend enemies in the air a lot, but I tend to leave most of the crowd control powers to the other biotics on the team, and level up the damage-dealing abilities in Shepard. With my Vanguard, I maxed out throw before any other biotic talent, and at max, you can potentially kill multiple enemies by flinging them into a wall or over the edge without firing a shot. It's almost like having a Jedi with a shotgun. I was disappointed when throw was turned into a biotic baseball that homes in on a single or two targets.

On my high-level replay of ME1, it was nice treating that krogan warlord on Therum with a fully evolved biotic punch.

Today I installed the trilogy on Windows 8.1 (with Spring update.)

Sadly the RCW ME2 ModManager just gives an error when I hit Apply. So I'm going to have to work out those manually now.

I think I prefer the "god mode" of being an Adept with Sniper Rifle as a bonus power in ME1.  Then running with Liara and Kaidan.  Ridiculous.

I found engineer with sniper rifle is a good combo in ME1.  Almost an Infiltrator

I loved being able to instantly throw Innamuerda's entire krannt off the walkway on Noveria when they try to ambush you for stealing Opold's package.

Well, I started playing a bit of ME2 on PC for the first time. Played for about 20 minutes and quit the game. Slowly becoming part of the mustard race

I think Mordin's death works more as it has that tragic redemption factor to it and it has some build up to it, maybe not story wise but it makes sense given his character arc. Legion's death for me just comes off as too forced. Besides the obvious hiccup about why Legion as a network of programs just can't copy himself, there was nothing in the story that at all built up to its sacrifice, Legion just died for the sake of drama. Which I guess is fine but in this case it wasn't done well and it creates a bit of a dissonance.

There is also that whole bit about Legion coming off as a completely different character and the Geth losing some of their uniqueness.

I actually think it's intentional.

Legion's sacrifice is aspirational. More up to subjective morality and opinions.

Mordin's sacrifice is more inspirational. More up to if you're touched by the feels or not.

(Both have elements of each other - I'm just saying that they seem to have different dramatic and writing focuses)

Perhaps a rationale for Legion's destruction could be: the act of broadcasting and dispersing it's programs into the Geth collective or other platforms destroyed some vital part of Legion's platform hardware. Perhaps it initiated a necessary surge in power that fried it's memory core or something. That could be a reason why Legion became non-functional.

Legion was already upgraded by the reaper code; he was no longer 1183(?) programs in a single platform, he was one entity and the upgrade was a part of him. I think that's why he couldn't just copy it to the other geth, he had to rip it out of himself and he knew it would kill him. In order to have peace with the quarians he willingly made that sacrifice.

Today, I stopped TIM from taking over the citadel and said goodbye to Thane. When Valern made that little veiled threat after I cured the genophage, I would have gladly traded him for Thane, but what can you do. Also collected a billion more quests, invited Ashley back onto the Normandy, played a game of chess with Traynor, told James he should join the N7 program and had an interview with Allers. As everybody on board the Normandy knows, what happens in Shep's cabin stays in Shep's cabin, heh.

Liara told me about some trouble at an Ardat-Yakshi monastery. She's such a scatterbrain I bet she forgets all about those banshees we fought while tracking down Dr. Garneau and rescuing Dr. Bryson. Oh and Traynor told me about some Cerberus defectors. I wonder if Jacob still holds a grudge because I never spoke to him again after having his father arrested.

Why is it that Chakwas doesn't tell you about those medical supplies, and you don't hear about Din Korlack until you're back on the Normandy?

People have Jacobs dad arrested? I always leave him to commit suicide or get torn to pieces by the Hunters depending on my mood, Jacob always happily goes along with it. Jacob is one mentally strong dude, I see why he's capable of being a fire team leader, nothing gets to him.

I usually bounce around between having him arrested and leaving him to the hunters depending on how I play Shepard. Typically I hand him over to the Alliance as some combination of punishing him according to the Alliance rules (if Shepard is a rule follower) and leaving him alive to think about what he has done.

Today I walked around the Citadel helping people with their problems. I had just been named a Spectre and need to track Saren down. While that's very important I figued I had enough time to help some Salarian create a program to help cheat at Quasar.

A couple days ago I started yet another Shep to take through all 3 games. I've lost count of how many times I've played them. I think this will be my "canon" playthrough. A FemShep Paragade Infiltrator who will hook up with Garus.

I have him arrested in my main playthrough.

I'm here to return these people to civilization. All of them.

I've gone through the options of having Jacob's father commit suicide or get taken by the hunters (the latter of which actually has a nice dark vibe about it), but overall, I think it makes more sense for my paragade Shepard to simply have him taken into custody. Ultimately, it's no more effort on Shepard's part, and the decision has no effect on whether or not I can save the other survivors at the site.

Legion didn't spontaneously grow a blue box. If I built an AI on my computer tomorrow, the disks on my hard drive would still be made out of palladium. The idea that broadcasting a copy of his software necessitated destroying the original files was, and is, nonsense.

...I know I just employed one of Bobvid's catchphrases there, but it applies.

Jacob's father has never survived in any of my playthroughs. It's always a toss-up between (mercifully) handing him a pistol, or letting his crew disembowel him.

Well unfortunately, the kid does describe almost everything in the negative so it's hard not to use something from his vocabulary bag.

With Ronald Taylor there is no excuse for what he did. I have no use for garbage like that.. It's  perfect revenge for the crew to tear his sorry a** apart.

Didn't encounter Rana Thinoptis during Grunt's recruitment.
