It really does bother me when I have to look at it closely. They could have just pulled them up from ME1 or ME2, because those textures looked decent enough and not Minecraft textured. I used to think the N7 Armor looked nice ME3 until I played on PC and saw how horrible and ugly it looked. Does playing at higher resolutions blur the already ugly textures even more?

Well it certainly makes them stand out more.

There are other examples:

And it gets even worse when you have modded hi-res textures next to the originals:

t7QfbBi.jpg

What's annoying is that the original hi-res assets will exist, as they will have been developed in hi-res then scaled down. if they really couldn't have been bothered to do it at release (God knows why, it;s no extra work) Bioware could have done what Bethseda did with Skyrim and release a hi-res pack (for free, note) but I guess PC just isn't that important.

I use HR texmods for ME3. tbh there's not that much difference. although I'm am not very keen about any game lagging just because its loading texture and background in HD (looking at you DAI)...

Played a bit ME1 tonight. Meet up with Wrex and pick up my OTPs, Garrus and Tali. Made Rico a Spectre and on his way to meet with Liara. Interestingly enough, he made everyone else way more awesome than him. But by god, people... I hate self-insert character for a reason. The Gary Stu thing is giving me an aneurysm.

And made several Revka gifs today. Sorry, Rico. You're not that awesome in my book.

LOL! No wonder she's so sad in that picture. Screw Thessia! My armor!

I did notice that when I came to PC, some of the textures did not look that good compared to its console buddies. I think I read somewhere that ME1 looks like poo on PC compared to the Xbox 360 and PS3.

So here we are.  Grissom Academy, home to the best human biotics out there.  Of course Cerberus wants it.  Why is Shep the only one not surprised by this?

Album has been updated.

I always liked this note.  It was a nice clue about who might be here:

Spoiler

Heya Jack.  I was in the neighborhood....thought you needed a hand.

Spoiler

Yeah yeah, yuk it up.

Spoiler

Are you high, Jack?   I'm Paragon Shep, I never trusted Timmy.  Lay off the red sand.

Spoiler

I always loved this little smile.  It feels good to save the school whenever I see this.

Spoiler

Thank you, Sanders.  That was getting old fast.  I guess Cerberus was going to talk the kids to death.  Yes, I know what happens if you don't get here in time.

Spoiler

Work, work.

Spoiler

You would have figured that Sanders would have told the students about Shep on a private channel.

Spoiler

This always makes me sniffle.  I didn't have Overlord with my first Shepard, but it makes this scene a lot more poignant.  I love when David's theme kicks in as you're speaking with him.

However, leave it to Jack to get me chuckling again.  Normally I hate curse words getting cut-off like this, but I have to admit it's well done here.

Not shown: Almost getting a game over because I wasn't using the Atlas during the final push and I wasn't keeping an eye on it.  Thankfully I managed to snipe the mook before he stole my mech.  I then promptly stole it back and wrecked the place.  I'm just not a big fan of it since it severely limits my peripheral vision.

LOL, the best station they could find for Grunt is the comm board? On second thought, he does make a great gatekeeper as seen in the Citadel DLC. Maybe he was tweeting the SM run?

Beautiful Shep there, subtle differences but so much better than vanilla. Nice pics of Jack, she is gorgeous in ME3.

Aww, thank you.

I love Jack's look in ME3 as well, and her character development was a pleasant surprise my first time playing through the series.  I had learned through ME2 during the abduction that, when the series tells you to "save them or they die,"  you should probably take it at face value.  So I never had to fight Jack later because my paranoid Girl Scout butt when off to save the day immediately.

Next time: Chatting with old friends, and helping new friends let go.

Continuing my ME1 game with:

1SjL9t5.jpg

I've just finished things up on Noveria, heading over to Hawking Eta to meet my old CO, Maj. Kyle. He's gotten himself a cult. Why HQ put a PTSD test case in overall command of a battle like Torphan is beyond me. Despite his weakness and incompetence I don't want to have to kill him and his followers. With treatment those biotics could get better. I have a feeling that Terra will need all the biotics she can get.

I do have a question for y'all Has anyone done hardcore or insanity as a Solider? I need some tips could barley do Normal not sure what the play style should be or what I am missing.

Edit: Ask because I wanna play the Soldier again very soon

Which game? ME1, ME2, or ME3? Or all three?

To avoid derailing the thread, you can create a new topic in one the other forums (Combat and Strategy, or maybe Classes and Builds), or you can send me a message and I can reply directly with some help/

So I finally got time to play Mass Effect and actually finish my Cryo Vanguard playthrough (or so I hoped). I started the game, didn't get shot during the shuttle landing, killed a bunch of Cannibals in style, gave an awesome speech (Paragon, Renegade, Paragon) and went through all the rest of Priority: Earth in one go! And then... this happened

Spoiler

About 12 times!! So I rage quit the game and found this little gem on YouTube. Hopefully this'll work and the Reapers will be destroyed tomorrow :D

This section, from being shot by Harbinger to using the beam, is my most hated section in the entire trilogy -_-

Anyway, here is the video. I think this can be used as a soundtrack for it ;) This character was the most fun I had after the Melee Infiltrator. I think I'm going to take a break from ME3 now, or maybe play through ME3 again with a Soldier and only then take a break. We shall see ;)

Fetch quests. Oh so many fetch quests.

<hugs>

I call it "Space Truckin'," after the Deep Purple song.   I just got finished doing that myself.

For me, this has been more like a "What did you do in the last couple of days" thread.  I'm further in the game than my screenshots, but I've been taking a lot of pictures.  I just had to move 13.8 gigs of screenshots into my secondary drive to clear some room.  :P

All these fetch quests might "Burn" you out and does this mean you call the catalyst a "child in time" as well :P

Best to do fetch quests on a "Black Night" past the "Highway Stars" and be careful of enemies or the Normandy could wind up as "Smoke On The Water" :)

Today, I hunted for Leviathan and found this:

Spoiler

and then this entity that hides in the depths of an ocean... told me its story. It threatened to keep me as its thrall...

Spoiler

But, given my reputation and past history of success, it changed its mind. So a Reaper became its prey instead of me...

Spoiler

I'm pissed. This Leviathan is some dumb arse alien that's hidden from the Reapers for eons. It has the power to kill them, but choose instead to hide. To top it off, it's the creator of the intelligence that created the Reapers to begin with. Harbinger was made using it's ancestors DNA juice. So... I've got to fix this mess that Leviathan created.

I Am Not happy about any of this.

Spoiler

It's been a long day. I'm exhausted... There's no place on my body that doesn't ache. The headaches are getting worse... And I reek of ocean smell. Must shower ASAP. Traynor better not be using my facilities when I get back to the Normandy. I've had to kick her out twice this week.

That's really nice hair on her. Does it clip much into the armor? I was looking at something similar for my next ME3 run.

Yes, it clips (a little). But I don't mind.

This hair can be found on Nexus Mods and girlplaysgame site. I love the style. But, I'm changing it on my next run.

Wrex, cause he looks cool in his Ursa armor. He's gonna survive Virmire after all.

A far, far better fate for Ms. Blake than being an absurd 'social worker' hanging out in Afterlife.

Finally decided to continue on with Natalie Shepard (Infiltrator) first time playing Insanity on ME2 normally just play through on casual to get the character to ME3 so when she landed on Freedoms progress and realized that all Mecs now have armor and not just the heavy mecs she ran around trying to hide while jacob and miranda continued to die but she survived her first encounter this way. Then came Tali yelling at her to get into position for the doors to open but dang it Tali we still had 3 turrets shooting at us because Miranda could not figure out how to get her overload to work but we did it we survived the first part of the game and let Tali take Veetor. And we have our Normandy back next up going to Omega I am so not looking forward to this  I am going to die a lot

Did the crates mission! 20/20 saved with the neat trick from here :)

With that out of the way I started Arrival DLC.

I was asked ages ago to infiltrate a prison and rescue Dr. Kenson. With the Collectors out of the way I finally did.

I entered the base and not soon in I encountered a few varren. Got rid of them and proceeded through the narrow paths. I heard some prison guards talking, so I snuck around them and continued to lay low until I found Dr. Kenson in her cell. We took care of a guard and are trying to find our way out now.

Then it was past 2am already and I needed to get up in less than 4 hours, so I'll continue tonight.

(Insanity Day 2) Natalie made it to Omega and refused to meet the self proclaimed leader of this crap-tastic station instead she let Zaeed join up and together with Jacob they headed into the quarantine zone. Started off okay but now really understand why Krogen regen is a pain, have only died once when I finally realized that I might not want to get to close to the targets since ya know Infiltrator and all and now really wishing I had brought Miranda instead of Jacob maybe Natalie will have to stuff her fillings of hate for her in order to get a few missions done. Almost to the vents and will soon have the cure injected so far gotta say looks like this insanity is leaving false hope I just know its got to get tougher at some point will finish up Mordin recruitment and then will be off to get Garrus. I know I will cry at this series of quest I just know it.
