Cryo blast? I dunno -- in practice, I don't find that cooldowns matter too much, since the real delay is in stripping defenses before the kill power gets used. (Warp's another matter since it can strip barriers.)

And Zaeed's disruptor ammo can be quite handy, depending on the mission and your Shepard.

With an Infiltrator Zaeed would be rather redundant since the Infiltrator has disruptor. Even with another class I find other strippers like Samara, Thane, Miranda, Garrus, Kasumi and Mordin to be better.

With Mordin I would prioritize Cryo blast for the Infiltrator and Engineer. For the Adept and Vanguard (and maybe the Sentinel) I would prioritize his Incineration Blast. The Infiltrator and Engineer already have stripping powers, so Mordin can be freed up for CC. The Adept and Vanguard already have CC powers, so Mordin's Incineration Blast can set them up for CC. The Cryo Blast also makes killing the bad guys go faster because frozen targets take 100% more damage.

I felt Mordin did a very good job in general with Cryo Blast with my Engineer. This is an example during the Eclipse segment of the Archangel mission.

Thanks guys!

Decided to double check the face code I have prepared for my canon Shepard replay - an Engineer with Avenger and Predator as weapons, Overload, Sabotage and Inferno Grenade as powers in all three games (will be done close to ME: Next release). Also perfected my screenshot taking techniques a little ;)

I wish I would've taken Mordin with me sooner in most missions, that guy was great to have around.

Great Shep, Vazgen :)

I'm off now to continue ME3

Shepard’s wanted a nice sunny holiday for a while. Unfortunately, Haestrom’s a bit too sunny. His shields keep making an angry beeping noise, and it seriously hinders his ability to move around the battlefield. Of course, the pesky geth aren’t having that problem. Flipping lamp heads.  :pinched:

They made their way through the semi-ruined landscape, finding a couple of audio diaries from Tali. It makes Shep feel all warm and fuzzy inside to know that Tali’s following in his footsteps. ^_^ A mining laser, excellent!

He had to use some bombs to blow up some rubble. I’m pretty sure Garrus could’ve just hoisted him and Kasumi up there, and then they could’ve pulled him up, but never mind. Shep hasn’t learned to climb since Feros. How did you ever get through a military assault course, soldier? At least he got to blow up a wall and Garrus. For some reason the turian hasn’t had enough of being in explosions. If it happens a third time, we’ll stage an intervention.

The team met up with Kal’Reegar, the weirdest-sounding quarian Shepard has ever met. Reegar confirmed that Tali’s still alive, so Shep told him to provide covering fire while the team pushed ahead. The guy’s got a rocket launcher, he might as well use it. They took to the upper walkways, with Kasumi and Garrus overloading everything in sight. Reegar is failing miserably at his job, because the colossus keeps targeting Shepard. Lucky for him, he managed to survive. Then it was back to the Normandy with Tali on the team.

She wasn’t thrilled about working with Cerberus. Jacob displayed a remarkable talent for putting his foot in his mouth when he said “Don’t forget to introduce yourself to the ship’s new AI.” Tali gave him a death stare that could’ve punched a hole through the Normandy. Surprised Jacob isn’t floating in the vacuum of space right now! Jeez man, even Shepard knows you don’t say that dumb sh*t to a quarian.

Recruiting Samara next, so that'll be two new buddies in one night!

Illium’s system is very interesting. So many planets that have suffered ‘mysterious’ species annihilation. "Perhaps it’s an accident with a biological weapon?" Oh, and here’s a planet with a ring around it. The ring is made from dust from a moon that was possibly blasted apart in orbital bombardment. But the big brains say that can’t have happened – what species would have the motivation to do it? Oh, everyone’s in for a rude awakening in several months’ time!

On Illium, Mordin shared his thoughts on architecture and (in a roundabout way) told Shepard that being around asari makes him feel slightly horny. Think Shep will be leaving you on the ship for all further Illium business, friend.

Shepard was reunited with Liara, which involved random hugging. Pretty sure the only people he’s interested in hugging are Ashley and possibly Tali. He’s really not that touchy-feely. He told Liara they could go get the Shadow Broker and she rushed off home. Hopefully she doesn’t mind waiting, since we’re probably not doing it until after the suicide mission.

We met up with Conrad, and Shepard got in an ‘undercover detective’s’ face about taking advantage of the sweep sap. Had a little chat with Aetheyta afterwards, who is possibly the best asari ever. Then reunited Charr and his girlfriend. Maybe Shep’s being a romantic sap after that email from Ashley. He’s kind of got a soft spot for poems now. Then it was off to recruit Samara.

This justicar doesn’t mess around. She killed some mercs with cold, clean precision. Definitely an asset to the team. She let herself be arrested though, and through some bizarre twist of events, Shepard is now her errand boy.

No wonder the mercs were so pissed off with the volus about this toxic gas. It barely even boosts biotics at all! Shep acquired enough credits to buy a nice Illium fish, and killed Elnora the mercenary. Grunt seemed to enjoy that. They encountered a volus who was as high as a kite. Little Niftu Cal even tried to intimidate Grunt, who was flat out confused by the whole thing. Miranda recommended keeping Nifty Niftu out of the way so he couldn’t be a nuisance, but Shep thought it was funnier to unleash him on Wasea. Pretty sure the poor little guy is dead now. At least his untimely demise has been avenged.

Samara has now been recruited (much to the relief of the detective). When asked where she wanted to stay, she said “somewhere that looks out onto the great empty void would be most comforting.” That doesn’t sound like sarcasm. You’re a strange lady, Samara. :P Lovely voice though, you could read me a menu for six hours.

Then it was off to feed the fish. Think Shep’s scuppered his chances to have Kelly feed them, since he told her he’d drop her.

Death count today: only twice, by grenades

Big fan of the combo of Kaidan's Cryo Blast and my Incinerate, boom everywhere! I love the sound effects in this game.

On Mars, James, Kaidan and I stumbled very quickly over a Cerberus group, and we see them shoot some people. Typical.
As a result we took all of them out and reached the entrance and elevator of the Archives facility. Kaidan brought up the Cerberus topic again, I was being nice though my patience is wearing a bit thinner by now.
Once we were inside we heard some noises from the ducts. We took cover and saw Liara popping out of it, Cerberus behind her. She made use of her biotics and then shot them. We said our Hellos, talked a bit about the situation on earth, and the reason why she's here: Liara's been here for months and found some plans for a device that could help with the Reapers. I sent James back to shuttle to secure an escape route, then we proceeded through the facility, making unpleasent discoveries like a depressurized cafeteria with lots of dead people in there and that it was Dr. Eva Core who was responsible for letting Cerberus in. Kaidan also found a dead Cerberus soldier that looked like a husk. Back to the popular "Me and Cerberus" topic, he doubts me again and I told him to just trust me, but I know he's stubborn.

Afterwards we used the tram to go to the main archive. We looked around and then I had a chat with the Illusive Man via hologram. He talked something about controlling the Reapers and that he doesn't want them gone. Don't think you'll get what you want, I will not let that happen.
Kaidan discovered Dr. Eva Core uploading some data on the device, then we had to chase her down. She boarded a shuttle, but James rammed her with our shuttle, both crashing down. Dr. Core rose from the wreckage, attacked Kaidan and hit him multiple times before I shot her. Kaidan's body lay on the floor. No, no, no, Kaidan, don't do this again. Crap!
I carried him to the Normandy, where Liara and I brought him to the Medical Bay. I looked at him, he's pretty messed up. Liara broke me out of my thoughts saying that he needs medical attention, that we need to leave the Sol System. Yeah, she's right. I told Joker to get us to the Citadel and tasked Liara and EDI with examining the synthetic body of Eva Core. Talked to Hackett afterwards and told him what we learned so far.

On the Citadel we saw Kaidan being taken away, then we met Bailey, who is now Commander. Nice to see him, always liked this guy.
Before going to the Council to talk to them about help against the Reapers and showing them the plans for the device, I still had time to go to the hospital.
Met Dr. Chakwas and Dr. Michel there. We caught up and I asked Karin to rejoin us on the Normandy again. She's happy to do so, and I'm glad to have her back.
Then I headed to Kaidan's room, seeing him lying there unconscious isn't easy. I told him a few things that are on my mind before leaving again, though I guess he couldn't hear me anyway. I lingered outside his room a bit more. Don't you dare die on me, Kaidan.
I am now on my way to Udina's office. Ugh.

Malena Shepard bangs Kaidan in frustration while still being bitter by DaPrize Cheater.  She then hits Cronos Station, chasing the Prothean VI as well as The Illusive Boy.  Unfortunately, she met with Deus Ex reject guy.  When the plot armour dropped, Deus Ex reject didn't last a second with the tactical cloak + Black Widow sniper smackdown.

Soon after, Malena receives several invite.png telling her that MP friends needs her to go back to the Main Menu.  She gladly relinquishes her post for some gold action!

To keep this a little more on topic, I do know that the next ME game is going to be on the same engine as DA:I.  I'm personally excited to see what the krogan will look like.  I know that the devs have confirmed that krogan will be in the next game.  :D

I had not played in a few days, so I was little rusty going into ME3 today. I died fairly early on in Thessia, but I blame Liara and EDI for not responding to my commands in time.

Anyway, Dominic Shepard (Vanguard) did what he does best: rubbing his bald head for good luck, scowling to make himself look tough, then Charge-Shoot-Nova everyone into big globs of goo.

1. Landed on Thessia to search for an artifact. Found the artifact, Kai Leng, and stupid gunship. Beat Kai Leng, but the gunship saved his worthless hide from the High Lord Claymore.

I actually died during the Kai Leng fight, because charging Kai Leng left me wide open in plain view of the gunship. No good place to take cover.

2. Tracked Kai Leng to Sanctuary. Killed a few Cerberus agents who were trying to flee, took out some Reaper troops, then rescued Dom's girlfriend. Just missed Kai Leng unfortunately, but he did convince Henry Lawson to let Oriana go. Then Miranda threw him out a window.

3. Eliminated all Cerberus hostiles from a Communications Hub on Ontarom. Last time Dominic was on Ontarom, some shifty-looking space cow stole his lunch money.

Dominic is all ready to hit Cerberus Headquarters. But before he can do that, he needs to track down Leviathan, help Aria retake Omega, and then hit the Citadel for some long overdue shore leave.

Missed a couple Geth on Antibaar.  Took forever for me to figure out why the 'Geth Incursion' assignment wasn't advancing.

Massacred all but two of the Zhu's Hope colonists.  Tried to take the anti-thorian gas with a full inventory, and had to convert it to omni-gel. Didn't feel like reloading the game and playing feros over again.

Malena finally landed on Earth after Hackett's rousing speech and brilliant strategy to basically command the forces and meet the Reapers head on.  Shepard puts up the awkward team consisting of jealous ex-girlfriend Liara and current boy toy Kaiden.  Yet, they don't seem to be at each other's throats.  Maybe they are indoctrinated!

Soon Malena is left to do everything to kill the destroyer.  In trying, she pulls out the Ladon and decimates everything the Reapers could throw at her.  After the Reaper is destroyed Harby appears and shoots lasers at random.  Anderson picks up Hackett's brilliant strategy and instructs everyone to just run to Harby head on.  Harbinger injures Shepard critically and tells her... "Bzzzwrrwagghhhssff..." which is short for bye bye.  Alliance forces signal a retreat despite the fact nobody is defending the beam anymore.

Illusive Boy shows up and argues with Shepard and Anderson to control the Reapers.  In his attempt to control them however, he ends up controlling his fingers and shooting himself.  Oops.

Shepard ends up controlling the Reapers and the Catalyst thereby ascending as the gods of the universe and is now well poised to shower her vengeance over DaPrize cheater, Jacob Taylor!

I have been sulking. Apparently I can't play ME because there is no disk in the hard drive (there is too) and I don't have directx 9 installed (do too). Also can't play ME3 because of the upgrades to Origin. I have been swearing a lot but not worth putting that in here because they would censor me. Poo. :crying:

Shep's trying to get Miranda to pull his finger, don't think she'll fall for that tho'. Need to wait for a decent screenie.

Renegade  John Shepard on insanity (but I only managed to play for an hour) ...

First up was a quick side-mission with Miranda and Jacob to investigate a Cerberus operative. Shepard unlocked the lv 4 dominate ability so now it is enhanced. Shepard has more power in "assuming direct control" so he can match Harbinger with the mind games. The operative was dead and there was some data lying around. Shepard needed to decide what to do with this data so he kept it for himself. There was no objections from the Cerberus crew members  so Shepard took the data and ran.

Went to Illium next with Jack and Miranda and got some credits from Thax. Only 1500 credits! <_< what a cheapskate. Started Miranda's loyalty mission about her sister and it turns out Eclipse is involved. These Eclipse encounters are becoming more frequent (two missions today and both had Eclipse involvement) and Shepard is losing patients with them. Shepard got the party started by killing the mercenary welcoming party and he shot down a container with flammable material. The battle started with an Eclipse shouting "Taking Fire!!!" which was apt for what just happened. Miranda was concerned for her sister but she still had time to strut to the elevator. Shepard fought some more Eclipse mercs and left another trail of destruction on Illium.

Encountered Captain Enyala and she is definitely one of my favourite enemies just because of the snarky comments ^_^:

Miranda: Take your best shot!

Enyala: I was just waiting for you to finish getting dressed or does Cerberus let you wh*re about in that outfit?

Jack: I like her, are we still recruiting?

Miranda shot Niket and Enyala was defeated. Miranda didn't want to speak to her sister so everyone left. I noticed that Miranda was in tears in the elevator as she left which I didn't realise before. So Oriana has been relocated and she should now be safe

Ah, right. I forgot we were talking about an Infiltrator Shep.

Interesting vid, though I'm still not really sold on Cryo Blast over Incinerate.

I just got up to Therum. I'll do a more thorough post later, but has anyone else noticed that Liara's dialogue there is a bit odd? I guess the krogan already told her that he and the geth are working for Saren -- otherwise she'd still think of Saren as a respected Spectre if she'd heard of him at all -- but she doesn't seem at all surprised to learn that Benezia's working with Saren.

After my first ME2 insanity run, instead of going straight into ME3, I've decided to have a little fun and do something else I haven't done before.  So ladies and gentlemen, today I begin the story my first Failshep.

Zapp B. Shepard

Spacer/Sole Survivor/Vanguard

Our story begins on a routine patrol for Zapp.  But Zapp knows better than anyone what can happen on a routine patrol.  He remembers vividly Akuze.  However fate smiled on Zapp that day, as he had slept in that morning and was thus absent for the massacre of his squad by a Thresher Maw.  As he makes his way to Anderson, he meets Corporal Jenkins, who is itching for some action.

Jenkins:  I can't wait to get into a real firefights and see Nihulus in action.  Spectres are awesome.

Zapp:  Great Corporal!  Just remember, when the firefight starts, you have to disorient your enemy by breaking cover and running at them guns blazing, its the last thing they'd expect!

J:  ...Are you sure about that commander?

Z:  Of course I am!  Not to brag, but I did graduate at the top of the 1st percentile during training.

However, Eden prime was under attack by a giant tentacle monster.  Zapp has seen more than enough hentai to know where this is going.  The away team lands though Jenkins was not enthusiastic enough in his attack and was cut down drones.  However, this day was not all lost, as he saved a good looking women, whom he promptly invited to join his team. Nihulus too also seemed to be lacking Zapp's battle technique and was dead as well.  As it turns out, a rogue spectre named Saren was behind all this, so Zapp vowed revenge and headed to the Citadel.
