As promised, here is my protection-stripping Engineer recruiting Thane with Mordin (and his Cryo Blast), along with Legion for a little AI Hacking.

I was hoping this would showcase why I think Mordin's Cryo Blast is awesome. Not sure if I succeeded or not.

Hmm, I should really try out that Engineer/Mordin combo. Since it's my favourite class and he's my favourite squadmate (mostly), then it seems like a winner on so many levels! Do you need the shotgun to make best use of the cryo blast though? I kind of hate using such close-range weapons.

Today, Shepard landed on B... something with Kasumi for her personal mission. He had to dress up in a fancy black suit. This will be good to wear on the ship. It’s pretty much the only thing without Ceberus logos all over it.

Kasumi went to a lot of trouble to create a fake alias for Shep and get him into the party incognito. Meanwhile she just tried to walk straight through the front door. Since Hock isn’t a complete moron, he told the suspicious hooded woman in armour that she’d have to stay outside. :P At that point, Kasumi turned invisible. Why... didn’t you do that in the first place?

Anyway, the party was pretty bland. Just rich people standing around, talking about how great they are. Shep and Kasumi worked together to take down the vault locks, including my favourite line:
Shep: *scanning a plant for DNA* "It’s clean."
Kasumi: "It’s a plant!"
Maybe we should go back to the ship and get someone smarter? We’re obviously too daft to pull off this job! That was made even more evident when Kasumi disrupted the cameras, standing in front of the thing the whole time. Let’s hope the security team are asleep! Unless those are the guys who were watching krogan cartoons? Because they’re going to be asleep for a loooong time.

Shepard and Kasumi ended up having to battle their way through Hock’s place, and were confronted by the man himself in a gunship. Kasumi showed off her remarkably agile talents, and made it more of a fair fight. The best part was when Hock shouted something like “Just try to destroy my gunship!” and then it exploded. Be careful what you wish for!

It was then onto Jacob’s mission. Read up the description for local planets – seems like more mass extinction events. Aeia was perfectly undisturbed though. No one but Taylor’s unfortunate crew had discovered this place. The more they found out about the place, the worse it gets. Shep might be a bit of a dick on occasion, but his crew are very important to him. Ronald Taylor is clearly a disgrace to command. Fortunately, Mordin was on hand to provide some on-the-spot check ups of the crew.

Jacob’s actually very likeable during his loyalty mission. Too bad he flicks the ‘off’ button on his personality when he goes back to the ship.  After a brief conversation with Ronald Taylor, Shep decided that a bullet in the head was too nice for this guy. Shep left him to the ‘droolers’ and called it a day. Jacob didn't seem to mind. If he's sad about it, I'm sure Kasumi would volunteer to cheer him up!

You can use whatever weapon you want. I just happened to have a shotgun on that Engineer.

Continued Dominic Shepard's (Vanguard) adventure through Mass Effect 3. Not much to write about other than he paired up with Aria and took back Omega from Cerberus. Aria got to choke out General Petrovsky, while Dominic got his Shotgun HVB mod. Everyone went home happy.

And I keep getting sync-killed by Atlas mechs. Even though I know it's coming, I stupidly charge in anyway. Because it's the Vanguard way.

For the first time since 2012, I have started a new play through of the saga.  I've decided to make a unique Shepard experience, which will lock me out of certain side quests.

Name:  "Gramps" Shepard.

Disposition:  Grumpy old fart.

- Dislikes Krogan, and did not invite Wrex onto the Normandy.

- Fears AI and VI.  He will not use the Avina AI.

- Is unsociable, and avoids chit/chat with his crew.  However he has become attracted to Liara, and she him.

- He is a lawful servant.  He will do as the Council commands, but has no love for their politics.  He is not their lap dog.

- He is a bit of a renegade, but not psychotic.  He will not kill without cause.  Corporal Toombs was given a chance to surrender, but he had to be put down.

- He doesn't have time for non-sense.   So far Shepard has dealt rudely with a crazy fan, two journalists, and an asari consort.

Today Natalie Shepard has been put on pause as Infiltrator is not my thing on Insanity :P Instead I have started a new play through this will follow

Mira Shepard  Spacer/War Hero/ Engineer

Mira has already landed on Eden Prime and saved the colony, got testy with a bunch of colonist trying to lie to her and for stealing grenades from the soliders who could have used them. Was tempted to punch crazy shed guy but resisted the urge. On the Citadel she meet with the Council, proved Saren was a traitor with help from Garrus, Wrex, and Tali. Made the rounds as well looking at all the sights she met with the consort and apparently did not understand the gift of words very well..not sure how that lead to getting it on but hey all in a days work right???  Also met an energetic C-Sec Office named Eddie Lang ( I like him) and a fan named Conrad. Finally it was time to leave and head to the Normandy sorry Anderson I know I should feel bad but have you seen this ship?? and now its mine? um yes please get out of my way galaxy I am coming to kick your butt! She has now landed on Therum looking for an Asari named Liara.

Arman Shepard crushes Pinnacle Station simulators all the while talking trash to the jealous turian and Admiral Adher.  While hanging out in his new apartment and asking for new gear, he thought that it would be much better to change the names of the MSV options to something simpler for new comers.

  • Recruit Pack
  • Veteran Pack
  • Spectre Pack
  • Premium Spectre Pack
  • Jumbo Pack

Little did he know that in the future, this idea will become the most lucrative scam the Alliance has ever concocted.

Without spoliering anything, taking the Templar route has it's own rewards. (Notably and arguably a much more interesting Lieutenant for Cory)

I did it once, but rushed extremely through it (so I could take the other path again). I liked it, but so far I couldn't bring myself to play it properly. Next time though :)

You've got an even better mission to look forward to. I think most people will agree that DAI's "party" mission far outshines Donovan Hock's party.

Oh yes! That's was probably my favourite mission of all, such a good atmosphere, and the music there

Sooo, we were off to Menae to get Primarch Fedorian. We made our way to the turian general Corinthus, and unfortunately we learned the Primarch's dead. We headed to a comm tower to repair it so we could find out who's gonna be the next. We returned to the general and met Garrus. How've you been? New one would be Primarch Victus, so we went to get him to come to the Normandy with us.
Back on the Normandy, there was some problem in the AI Core and EDI is gone. It seems EDI made Dr. Eva's body her new home. Creepy, at first.
Had a chat with Garrus and we caught up a bit with what he was up to, the war situation and family stuff.
Got an e-mail from both Kaidan and Thane, who is also at Huerta. Of course I went immediately.
Greeted Thane, he met Kaidan and he says he'll keep an eye on him, as our enemies might try something. Thanks, bud. I learned more about Thane's condition and it doesn't look good for him. That's pretty devestating stuff, but I knew it was inevitable. It was good to hear though that his son Kolyat and he seem to be on good terms, I'm glad for them.
I grabbed some whiskey, then went to see Kaidan. He might become a Spectre. Good for him, he'd deserve it. We reminisced a bit and Kaidan told me more about how he's been holding up and what's been going on with him. We finally got the Horizon/Cerberus thing behind us, it was good to talk about it, being friends again. He talked about how his biotics seem stronger than ever, and when I told him maybe it's just him getting better he asked me if I'm flirting with him. Um, I wasn't, really, but does that mean he's... We've always been close, and through hell together, and I know I missed him a lot, but... huh. Something to think about.
Bought my first fishies and the Aquarium VI, yes! No more dead fish. I met Joker and EDI and they seem to have a thing for each other. Who would've thought?

Talked to Liara in the café, then I was on my way to the Purgatory Bar where I met James. Bought a round of drinks for everyone.

After the scene finished, this woman had somehow crept up on me. You want something!?

Spoiler

Had a chat with Aria and was asked to reunite the merc bands.

After that I bumped into Spectre Jondum Bau, whom I helped with tracking down a hanar. Met Kasumi along the way too, as she's somehow involved. Great to see her. After this hanar thing was resolved she also joined our war effort.

Then I scanned some stuff and escaped Reapers frequently.

Landed on Therum and things were going great until we made our way to the entrance of the dig site. I understand Krogan are crazy and like to charge things but come on Wrex your really going to charge the Armature?? After that Wrex believed that getting knocked out every fight was how we are supposed to win them. Liara is now on board and she has been welcomed with graciousness. Scanned a few planets and boarded a few ships nothing special really but this one ship of biotic's was stronger then I though, had to do that one over but finally got them.

Feros has been saved, decided it was best to save the colonist and keep Shiala alive, Kaidan decide on this round to follow Wrex's lead and hug the floor unconscious during the fights but he did save me from the alpha verren (imagine gun over heated not enough time to change weapons suddenly right before it bites you, up in the air it goes doing flips as it has been lifted and then slammed into a wall) Thanks Kaidan knew I brought you for something.

Made the rounds talking to everyone, Garrus chill on the kill the bad guy stuff, Wrex sorry about your people and you have interesting stories, Tali yep homesick but it will be okay (not happy I could not agree with her about the Geth until right at the end of that conversation) Ashley calm down with the we hate aliens crap please just please focus on your family okay thanks. Kaidan we like flirted a bit, Liara upon talking to her and not really paying attention looks like we agree we like her as well. We shall see how all this plays out.

Now just getting caught up on clearing all quest off the Citadel

Update below:

For the first time since 2012, I have started a new play through of the saga.  I've decided to make a unique Shepard experience, which will lock me out of certain side quests.

Name:  "Gramps" Shepard, Infiltrator

Disposition:  Grumpy old fart.  A bit of a renegade, but not psychotic.  Will do what is necessary to get the job done, but will not break the law.  He is a loyal servant of the Alliance and Council, but is not afraid to speak his mind.  He fears AI and VI, but willingly uses technology that is not equipped with AI (He refuses to use Avina).   "Gramps" is anti-social and avoids idle chit-chat.

Decisions so far:

- Gramps dealt rudely with a crazy fan, two journalists, and an asari consort.

- Gramps dislikes Krogan, and did not invite Wrex onto the Normandy.

- The mission comes first.  Gramps has no time to chat with his crew, especially the unstable L2 biotic.   However the Asari researcher is attracted to Gramps, and Gramps sees opportunity for R&R.

- Gramps will not kill without cause.  Corporal Toombs was given a chance to surrender, but he had to be put down.

- The Batarian threat has been defeated and Terra Nova was saved.  Gramps captured Balak and rough him up for killing the hostages.  Balak will be turned over to the Alliance for interrogation.

- Administrator Anoleis was found breaking the law (with the help of Lorik Qui'in) and has been arrested.   Also the smuggling operation has been foiled, and the weapons were confiscated by Gramps.

- The Rachni threat has been defeated.  They will never again threaten the galaxy.

Dominic Shepard (Vanguard) continued his conquest of the galaxy war with the Reapers today.

Landed at a mining facility, trying to locate a Dr. Garneau. We found Garneau. Only Garneau was not himself. Turns out Garneau was not Garneau. Garneau was actually dead and the Not Really Garneau dude was impersonating Garneau because... well apparently this Leviathan thing took control of him to get us off Leviathan's tail (does it have a tail?).

To track Leviathan, we need Ann Bryson. We tracked Ann to a dig site. Ann was actually Ann so that was good news. What was bad was that Leviathan took control of her for a few seconds.

Ann found a way to track Leviathan using that creepy artifact thing. We used it to pinpoint Leviathan's location. It appears that Ann did not survive the experience. Too bad. James, you said you wanted to do 'whatever the f--- it takes' to win this war? That's what it takes.

We were about to try some deep-sea diving with the Kodiak, but we crash-landed on some shipwreck instead. Apparently Leviathan hit us with some kind of pulse. And then a Reaper flew in and try to kill us with by dropping off a bunch of Reaper-ized troops. That failed. I got into an old mech and dove underwater to look for Leviathan.

Hoo boy. Found Leviathan and he was not alone. Apparently there is a whole race of giant creatures that can control minds. I am not sure which is worse: a synthetic race of machines that wants to destroy all life, or a race of giant organic aquatic creatures that want to enslave all life. Better add 'Kill All Leviathans' to my To-Do List, after Destroy Reapers and before Take Over Cerberus. Just got to figure out a way to jam or block that pulse. We can probably co-opt the shielding technology we used on the artifact to block their mind-control capabilities.

Welcome back!  Today, I'm going to start to deal with the Blue Suns, and I deal with the Blood Pack.

It's incredible how sleazy Brian Bloom can sound.  Glorious.

Spoiler

Oh damn it, why am I not surprised?

Spoiler

She would break you.  Drago style.

Spoiler

I swear, Aria pulls this crap on Shepard unexpectedly just to see how they would react.

Spoiler

So, why did I have to talk to that nutjob again?

Spoiler

I'm Commander Shepard and I'm the nanny of the Citadel.

Spoiler

Stay alive.  I'll be back later.

Spoiler

Meanwhile, with the Blood Pack, I think Shep would be happy to never see a batarian again.

Spoiler

Vorcha lack for creativity, but they don't lack for courage.

Spoiler

Behold, one of the smartest NPCs in the entire series.  He knows how dangerous Aria and Shepard are.

Spoiler

You're actually a credit to your race.

Meta-comment: One of the funniest parts of the ME panel from Denver Comic Con last year was watching Mark Meer do his vorcha voice.

(Yesterday, but whatever)

For the first time, I went after Balak instead of saving the scientists.  Was like: Bang. BANG. BANG AGAIN. Then he was like: Kill me already!

And I was like: Nah.

Ashley blew up with the bomb, first time I ever saw that scene with the VS, I've always stayed with the bomb in the past.

Finally gave in and banged Liara.

Spoiler

Finished ME1 with about 55/45 about paragon/renegade. So much for my originally planned full-renegade playthrough, lol.  Renegade in conversation, mostly paragon with big decisions.

Started ME2 as an adept. (first time ever. I'm always an engineer.) We'll see how it goes.

Busy times for Shep!

We held a war summit on board the Normandy to discuss our situation further. Heya, Wrex! The Salarian Dalatress and he bumped heads and we were left with the task to retrieve female krogan that were held by the salarians on Sur'Kesh. Politics, politics.

We landed on Sur'Kesh and met Padok Wiks, and just when we went in... Cerberus arrived. They never rest. We met Mordin inside, good to see you, fella!

We shot our way through and get the only left fertile female krogan out with Mordin's help. Wrex picked us up with the shuttle right after we destroyed a huge Atlas mech.

The female krogan was named Eve, and she and Mordin came on board the Normandy. Talked to Wrex and the rest of the crew before having a chat about curing the genophage with Eve and Mordin. Comforted Steve who was remembering his husband and overheard Dr. Chakwas breaking down because of the Collector abduction. Poor woman.

Paid Kaidan a short visit in the hospital, he's out of bed and took the Spectre position. Congrats, my friend. Then I met Miranda at the docking bay and we caught up. She's worried about her sister and suspects her father for the lack of contact.

After that we went to look for a missing krogan team in the Attican Traverse. To investigate we met up with Aralakh Company, and their leader is none other than our favourite baby Grunt. He's so happy to see me, haha, kinda sweet. We were separated shortly after and pressed through the tunnel system. It turns out that the missing krogan team is already dead. Then helloooo fake Rachni Queen, a Reaper-tech infested breeding machine.  She seemed angry at what was done to her, and I had to make a decision. Saving her and probably loose Aralakh Company, or leave her. I left her, didn't really trust her. On our way out Grunt defended us and made it out just in time.

After that we headed to Benning to rescue civilians under attack from Cerberus. (Most deaths so far as they constantly flanked me ^_^) I collected some dog tags for an ambassador on the Citadel and told him his son is dead. Also brought a krogan dying message I found in the rachni tunnels to Ereba, an asari. It was from Charr :( Maaaan.

Bought more fish before heading to Tuchanka to spread the genophage cure. The Salarian Dalatress requested before that the cure be sabotaged. Pft. I'm not letting you manipulate me. I will do this for Wrex' and Eve's sake.

A huge Reaper sits right where we need to go, so the turians and krogan join forces to attack it together.

Meanwhile Liara, Garrus and I made our way through the catacombs, and something is definitely here. We learned it might be Kalros, mother of all thrasher maws. Well that sounds reassuring!

We fought Reaper forces on our way, saw Kalros in action and proceeded until we joined up with Wrex and the gang again. Eve dropped the idea of summoning Kalros to distract the Reaper, with the help of two maw hammers. And Wrex told me no matter what happens, I'm his brother. Aw Wrex, my heart...

We went for the hammers and I got stomped by the Reaper in the process  -_- (the brutes were a lot more doable than I thought though, didn't even kill me and I had sooo expected it). After successfully summoning the maw, I witnessed what must have been one of the most epic battles of all time. It took down that Reaper allright!

Then Mordin and I headed into the Shroud. It was falling apart, but Mordin insisted to go up there and spread the cure. Had to be him. Seems I cannot stop him and I'm extremely taken by his drive, and proud to have worked with him. Farewell, old friend, and see you on the other side.

And Mordin sang for the last time. Teary-eyed.

After everything was done I learned Eve's real name, Bakara. Honored.

Meh, but I also just learned that I missed a shitload of stuff still to do before the Citadel attack, so I might do those and replay Tuchanka <_< Which is ok in the end as I love the Tuchanka mission!

Mira spent the day scanning planets in every system and helping out her crew with their little issues. After that she headed to Noveria and found out Benezia was there, after convincing Lorik to testify against Anoleis they headed to peak 15 (The fight against Sterling makes me laugh threaten to break my legs and yet I'm still walking how did that work for ya?) Peak 15 we fought our way to the security check fixing everything as we went, the security office gave me a card to the hot labs and for the first time ever I back tracked and did hot labs before going after Benezia.

With hot labs done headed back up and found out that Benezia orders you dead...interesting. Liara watched her mother die and we set the Rachni Queen free and of course after talking with the council my previous slip up complimenting Liara came back to me. That was the most awkward conversation I believe but in the end Mira choose Kaidan and they set off for Virmire where Ashley ended up dead and we had what was needed to end this game! with a strong push and fighting sleep Mira has officially saved the Citadel and the Council.
