I'm using Sera, Cassandra and Dorian too. Just gave Blackwall an airing; he bad mouthed Dorian so he's getting ditched - warden artefacts be damned.

Cassandra is swiftly climbing the likeable chart, I think her character is very interesting.

I spoiled so much of the game already so I doubt I'll ever end up playing it :D

I'll be interested to learn of your perception of characters after finishing the game. My favorite character is currently quite low on your list... :P

Big fan of Dorian and Cass, these two are amazing. Damn you, David Gaider, he really ALWAYS wrote my fav characters.

Also love Cole very much, but he doesn't have a lot of fans it seems :D

My party usually consists of Dorian, Cass and Cole/Varric.

Renegade  John Shepard on insanity...

Started the Project Overlord mission and took Zaeed and Miranda along. As soon as he touched down on the planet, Shepard knew that it wasn't going to be a simple mission because the station was a mess. The first task was to go to a satellite dish. Shepard decided to shoot all the cameras on the way to the satellite because he had the uneasy feeling that the VI was watching (I know there is no benefit for destroying all the cameras but it's a habit :P). There was also a brief classical music interlude in one of the corridors but this lasted about a second because Shepard is focused on the task at hand.

Encountered the Geth on the way to the satellite but Shepard just used the throw biotic on most of them to make them crash off the high ledges. The satellite was destroyed and Shepard nearly had a near death experience from the falling debris. Dr Archer was introduced and gave an explanation on Project Overlord and the current situation. It turns out that the facility is used to experiment on Geth and a rogue VI is on the loose. Shepard took the Hammerhead for a spin and tested the weaponry on the local wildlife (Shifty Looking Cow). The Hammerhead VI said that they were "defenceless herbivores" but Shepard knows from experience that they are opportunists! Collected all the Cerberus packages by evading enemy fire from mechs/turrets.

The next step to stop the VI is to hit the override switches. The first was in a geothermal plant based at Vulcan Station. Shepard had to navigate the Hammerhead through lava rivers with steppingstones and using steam geysers to get to the main area. A mech was trying to break the switch so Miranda and Zaeed 'disarmed' it and Shepard blew it's head off because he is a renegade B). Next up was Prometheus Station which was based on a Geth ship. Shepard thought that he was going to catch a break as all the Geth appeared to be offline. He had a casual stroll to the override switch and had time to listen to the music which was provided to "reduce workplace stress". The atmosphere changed when he flipped the override switch and died because of a sneaky Geth Hunter encounter.

Eventually got to Atlus Station where Shepard gained access to the VI server. The rogue VI upload was disrupted and David was found. Shepard is a pure renegade so this next part is probably the most uncomfortable renegade choice so far -_-. Shepard agreed that the project should continue but he still got to strike Dr Archer. The rationale for the project to continue is to use every resource available in preparation of the Collectors/Reapers despite his personal feelings. So in the end Shepard "didn't make it stop" :( (I do like the Overlord music theme)

Shepard needed to clear his head after these events so he started scanning planets and probed for resources on the rich ones. There was a side-mission which resulted in finding a Prothean relic. Shepard had a vision again and included some Collectors images. He was half expecting Liara to appear on the Normandy asking to join consciousness's just like the old days :D. However, she is too preoccupied with the Shadow Broker rather than the Protheans at the moment.

Back on the Normandy and Shepard started a romance with Miranda.

Okay, I finally beat the stupid clone with my Vanguard. In total, I think it took me about one hour just to beat it in about four minutes (less than that if you do not include cutscenes).

After that I got all the mods from the claw game, met up with a bunch of ME2 and ME3 squadmates, and completed all the Armax Arsenal Arena missions. I had a lot of trouble with the final Unusual Scores mission, mostly with the Atlas mechs on wave 3.

Still have a few meet-ups left, then a party, then a final shopping spree, then I hit hit Cerberus Headquarters before heading back to Earth.

In Shepard's defence, they were "shifty" and could have been plotting a nefarious activity

Quick question for everyone here about my next playthrough. I know which Shepard I will be importing next, but I am undecided if I will switch her class during the import.

In ME1, Dhalia Shepard was an Engineer with Warp. In ME2, she was an Engineer with Reave.

I do not currently have any biotic Infiltrators and I feel like playing as a Flare infiltrator, so I am thinking of converting her to an Infiltrator for this purpose. It would save me from playing though ME1-ME3 with a new Shepard.

But what do you people think? Should I change her to an Infiltrator? Or keep her as a biotic Engineer?

I'd say go with Engineer. You get unique options in the Omega DLC.

My first thought was that a biotic engineer seems somewhat common.

My second thought was that a flare infiltrator sounds interesting.

My third thought was that with the cloak exploit the flare infiltrator would be massively OP. (although, what isn't?)

My final thought was: heck, I don't know. :P

Today I did something I never thought I'd do without ripping my hair out in frustration: solo'd MP Gold twice in a row.

Oh, and Shepard reclaimed Omega for Aria.  :P

Do you? I've only done it as Sentinel and Infiltrator and just assumed it was always the same. Maybe I have an excuse to try that too now.

Anyway, Flare Infiltrator could be pretty amazing, and you'd still have a bit of Tech thrown in to balance things out a bit.

@RedCaesar: I'd be interested in the Flare Infiltrator (if you also do any videos), as it's probably gonna be a while until I play Infiltrator, so that would give me the chance to see more of this class, hehe. In the end of course, you need to decide what's more fun for you :P

After the thrilling Cerberus Coup, I relaxed a bit today and spent a good time with my crew and friends.

On the Citadel I met Jack at the Purgatory club, and we had a nice chat, then I danced with her. She made fun of me for not being able to dance properly, but heck, she IS right.

I talked to EDI a bit who was lurking on the dancefloor. Then I met Joker at the bar and he asked me if he should go for EDI. Do it, Joker, I think it will be good for you.

I returned to the Normandy and had another chat with Joker and EDI in the cockpit. Joker was a bit hostile towards Kaidan, and I told him to cut him some slack. EDI wanted to know more about the purpose of Synthetics. The human's purpose would be reproduction she said, but I told her there's more to it than just that. Working for something, your own deeds and love can be as meaningful. EDI changed herself after that to follow my suggested path.

Had a brief chat with Dr. Chakwas and met Garrus in front of the memorial wall. He mentioned how tense the situation during the Cerberus coup must have been and asked me if I could have pulled the trigger. No, Garrus, I couldn't have. Kaidan is important to me, maybe more than I thought until now. We reminisced about Ash and then I went to my cabin.

I called in Liara and she showed me her idea of preserving all the knowledge we gathered so far, should we fail to defeat the Reapers she'd leave everything behind for future cycles. She wanted my opinion on the entry of myself, and I just told her to be honest. She apologized she hadn't been there for me as much as she wanted, but it's fine, Liara. You still helped.

After that it was chess night with Traynor. I like this girl! She beat me, but we have a lovely and funny time. Anytime again, Traynor.

Diana Allers came up for an interview. I hate this, but if it helps in any way with the war, so be it. After the interview she made a comment about following me home. Eh, get out of here, Allers. This is just professional, nothing more.

Called in James at last and we talked about his past and the N7 program. He's considering to do it if this war is over at some point and I reassured him that he's a damn fine soldier and should go for it if he has the chance. What I like about him is that he's treating me so normal when we talk. I like this attitude, makes things less... formal.

Hmm, it seems I missed Kaidan's first Starboard Lounge dialogue upon returning to the Normandy by going to the Citadel again before that, so I'll replay everything again tonight -_- That is outright embarrassing for a Kaidan-fan...

Engineer has a unique Paragon interrupt at the Reactor in the mines. If you skip the first Renegade interrupt, the Engineer gets a Paragon interrupt. Shepard says "Maybe if I was a stupid grunt." and uses his/her Omni Tool to safely divert power away from the force fields.

"Maya Brooks" also has a unique line in the Citadel DLC when she gives you the resonance emitter lens, saying something like "Oh yeah, I heard you were an Engineer."

I did try out a Flare Infiltrator for a mission once as a test.

JumpinProductions also had one here.

That is all I could find.

Mira Shepard woke up on a table after an attack on the Normandy last thing she can remember was the ship blowing up. With the help of a random voice she made her way through the station and found a guy named Jacob who explained a lot of things to her which she could not believe. Together they made their way to the shuttle picking up Wilson on the way and that's were the random voice became an actual person to her. Miranda shot Wilson (always wondered why I take her word he is a traitor with no proof other then his line of amazement I am still alive) Mira was not going to argue at this point and hopped on the shuttle and head to TIM.

She was not friendly at all to TIM she doesnt trust him yet after everything she has seen from Cerberus 2yrs ago they will really need to prove themselves as the good guys. In the end she agreed to check out Freedoms Progress.

Tali ended up being there and Mira reminded her of the data she gave Tali on her pilgrimage and we agreed to work together to find a Quarian named Veetor. We fought to the far end of the colony and reached Veetor and  got him talking to us. With all information on hand we headed back to TIM and let Tali take Veetor back to the flotilla.

Mira agreed to help Cerberus against the collectors and met up with her favorite pilot Joker. With a new Normandy and crew they headed to Omega to get Mordin Solus who was helping people in the slums of Omega on a plauge. Mira headed there first whoever Aria is can wait she has a DR to recruit. Fighting blue suns and vorcha she got to the clinic took the cure and released it. Mordin is now on the Normandy next up Archangel! (can never wait to long before I go get my Garrus)

What build did you use for the Engineer in ME2? If you didn't rely on Drone and Overload much, I'd say Infiltrator will be consistent with the previous game.

You can always play through ME1-ME3 with an Engineer instead ;)

Yesterday I played KOTOR 2, still at Citadel and like ME1's Citadel, need to finish up the sidequests and I'm too lazy for that. And not really into gaming today (tired) but wrote some ME fanfic (still need to write 5k to catch up... its really hard to write about sexual tension you know..) and went to Kinokuniya and found out they had Mass Effect Foundation but I want volume 1 which has Kaidan's chapter in it. And did some tv marathons these few days : Broadchurch 2 (Merrill, Jarvis and The Doctor together!), Defiance 2, caught up with Agent of SHIELDs, Game of Thrones and Daredevil... and now I'm reading Neil Gaiman's Anansi Boys. Will get back to the game later...

and then this happens.

considering, I can't play DAI on my PC.... sigh.... NA server despite being in Asia... fun

Linda Shepard and her quest to find the Mass Effect trilogy

me: Before you  leave Traynor, I like to have you do something for me. Edi? Shut-off all audio and video feeds to my cabin

edi: Yes Shepard

Traynor: Something wrong Commander?

me: With you? No. What I need you to do is to track three words. Video. Game. Device. Let me explain. Just before Eden Prime was under attack, I found out that we were looking for a game. A very special game that has remained hidden from the galaxy for a very long time. Its called Mass Effect. Its 3 video games. The beacon on Eden Prime may contain information that could lead us to the whereabouts of the game. I will jump forward. The reapers are the guardians of this game or as they call it, the device. Currently the only ones who know about it is me, Anderson, Udina, Ashley Williams and now...you.

Traynor: I'm I in any danger knowing this?

me: No. If anyone else knows about this device, I don't know who it would be.

Traynor: What about the reapers? They still have to be stopped.

me: Yes they do.

Traynor: Once you stop them, what happens to the game? What if you don't find it?

me: If we find it, I will worry about that at that time. If we don't, I'm not sure. I believe the video game is in the galaxy otherwise why would the reapers be here. Now if the game is in darkspace, I believe that we might be able to get there if we were able to know where in darkspace its located.

Traynor: That would only happen after the reapers are stopped?

me: Yes. Ok. Continue doing your normal duties, but keep a lookout for those 3 words. If you find or hear something, we will meet back here in my cabin and discuss your findings. If Hackett asks anything, tell him he doesn't need to know. He will understand what you mean. If we do find it, you can be the one that gets to play the game first.

Traynor: I'll keep my fingers crossed then. I'll be getting back to the CIC

Vega: Can you dance and talk at the same time?

me: Haven't you heard? My dancing sucks. So I'll just have to fight you

Vega: Hahaha. You fight me? Hahah-....uh....oww-...that hurts....ugh....ohhhhhhh my chin

me: Rule #1 Vega. When fighting, don't talk. Rule #2 Keep an eye on your opponent and not let your eyes wander. Now go see the doctor

Vega: Yes ma'am

Steve: Impressive Commander. Where did you learn those moves?

me: Ever heard of Bruce Lee? He's the most lethal human in history. He's been dead for a long time, but I watched and studied his videos. I went to Kung Fu school to learn and be like him. The other thing is have you heard of Mike Tyson? Most likely the best boxer ever. I went to a school that taught me how to box.

Steve: I won't be getting on your badside

me: I did it to make myself better in combat. Plus its great exercise. I'll talk to you later Steve.

Adams: This ship can fly Commander. I'm glad to be on the team.

me: Good to have you onboard Adams and that you're impressed with the SR2

me: How's he doing doc?

Chakwas: He'll be fine. In a few days those bruises should be gone.

Vega: Yeah. The Commander hits hard. I'm sure she could've done worst

me: You're right Vega.

Chakwas: Just keep this icepack on your jaw and cheek for a few hours to reduce the swelling.

me: That shouldn't be a problem. It will take several hours to get to Palaven

me: What's with all the tv monitors?

Liara: I like watching tv.  This one is the KBN. That  means the Krogan Boxing Network. This one is a movie channel. Th---

me: Hey that's Clint Eastwood starring in The good, The Bad, and The Ugly. The greatest western ever made. No way. You have ESPN? That's cool. And they're showing the Superbowl from 2015. What is that?

Liara: Nevermind. You don't need to see that

Glyph: Dr. T'Soni likes watching the Asari Playboy Channel

Liara: That's enough out of you Glyph. Don't ask Shepard

me: I wasn't. Haha. Can you get the Playboy Channel from Earth

Liara: You mean this?

me: That's the one. Ok. Enough of that crap. What's this channel?

Liara: That's GSPN. Galactic Sports Programming Network. I probably watch that channel the most.

me: I'll leave you to your work

Joker: The council wasn't helpful

me: When were they? Hopefully getting this Primarch will lead to getting the help we need

Joker: I'll let you know when we get near Palaven Commander

me: You paid 6 000 credits for a toothbrush? Let me see your teeth.......Hmm... Very impressive Traynor.

Traynor: Thank you. I just like keeping my teeth clean.

me: What color can the toothbrush come in?

Traynor: Well...mine is or at least was white, but they come in all different colors.

me: Ok. Here's 12 000 credits. Buy yourself a toothbrush and get me one as well. I like to have the color red.

Traynor:...ah....Thank you Commander

me: No. Thank you Traynor

Renegade  Shepard continued...

Went to Pragia with Jack and Miranda to destroy a Cerberus facility. Everyone got off the shuttle and it was pouring down with rain (I think this is the first time that Shepard experienced rain on his travels :P) and this gloomy atmosphere continued inside the facility. It turns out it is another Cerberus experimentation facility that went rogue and Shepard had a feeling of deja vu because of the events of Project Overlord that occurred recently. The crew found a survivor named Aresh and Shepard encouraged Jack to kill him. Jack did this and the facility was destroyed. Jack and Miranda had words on the Normandy but Shepard reminded them both who was in charge.

Next up was Omega to help Samara with her Ardat Yakshi problem. Shepard brought along Jacob as well and had a brief encounter with Ish. Ish wanted some packages collecting and Shepard said that he will get them. Shepard went nightclubbing to attract Morinth's attention and did this mainly through aggression and violence. He punched a Turian on the dancefloor, insulted a Krogan at the bar and knocked out two more nearby Turians. The plan worked and Morinth was lured out and they had a conversation. Morinth wasn't impressed with Shepard's conversation skills and implied that he was boring :pinched:. Morinth said that she was getting a drink and didn't return (I was trying out some different conversation replies to see what would happen). The conversation itself involved talking about action vids, having a history with drugs and saying he likes all music -_-. So Morinth escaped and is still alive on a power trip. Samara wasn't happy and isn't "loyal".

Shepard spoke with Samara on the Normandy to ask how she is feeling and whether there would be a next time. Samara was still a little bitter because she said that it will take her a long time to find her again and if she finds her then "I will do it alone!". Shepard replied saying that the whole mission was a waste of time :pinched: but Samara had a quick retort of "I agree!". So these two have a frosty relationship now.

Shepard remained in a bad mood when talking to Jack about the events at Pragia by telling her to get over herself :pinched:.

Shepard finished the day by completing a side-mission on a Blue Suns ship and recovered the cargo that was on board.
