For the first time since 2012, I have started a new play through of the saga. I've decided to make a unique Shepard experience, which will lock me out of certain side quests.
Name: "Gramps" Shepard, Infiltrator
Disposition: Grumpy old fart. A bit of a renegade, but not psychotic. Will do what is necessary to get the job done, but will not break the law. He is a loyal servant of the Alliance and Council, but is not afraid to speak his mind. He fears AI and VI, but willingly uses technology that is not equipped with AI (He refuses to use Avina). "Gramps" is anti-social and avoids idle chit-chat.
Mass Effect 1:
- Gramps dealt rudely with a crazy fan, two journalists, and an asari consort.
- Gramps dislikes Krogan, and did not invite Wrex onto the Normandy.
- The mission comes first. Gramps has no time to chat with his crew, especially the unstable L2 biotic. However the Asari researcher is attracted to Gramps, and Gramps sees opportunity for R&R.
- Gramps will not kill without cause. Corporal Toombs was given a chance to surrender, but he had to be put down.
- The Batarian threat has been defeated and Terra Nova was saved. Gramps captured Balak and rough him up for killing the hostages. Balak will be turned over to the Alliance for interrogation.
- Administrator Anoleis was found breaking the law (with the help of Lorik Qui'in) and has been arrested. Also the smuggling operation has been foiled, and the weapons were confiscated by Gramps.
- The Rachni threat has been defeated. They will never again threaten the galaxy.
- Father Kyle turned himself in. Gramps bluffed that he would kill all the followers.
- Gramps does not cut deals with criminals. Helena Blake and her gangsters are dead.
- At Zhu's Hope, Gramps realizes the colonists are innocent and does not allow them to be harmed. Shiala was allowed to live after she promised to help the colonists rebuild.
- At Virmire: Gramps loaned the unstable L2 biotic to the STG. He hopes the STG can whip him into shape. Unfortunately, Alenko and the STG were defeated while Gramps stayed with the bomb to ensure detonation.
- After Virmire, the citadel council berated Shepard for being destructive. Gramps told the Turian councilor where to stick it.
- On the way to Ilos, Gramps and Liara enjoyed a little R&R. Gramps needed the stress relief.
- At Ilos we discovered an ancient VI. Liara tried to turn it into a research project, but Gramps reminded her that VI are evil and that Saren was was getting away.
- Gramps returned to the Citadel, which was under attack. The council was sacrificed to save the human forces for the final push.
- After Saren's defeat, Udina asked me to choose a new chancellor. I told him I didn't have time for politics, because the reapers are coming.
Mass Effect 2:
- Gramps wakes up from his long sleep, and is surrounded by Cerberus. He trusts no one, but is forced into travelling to Freedom's Progress. Miranda and Jacob are always trying to earn his trust, but Gramps is even grumpier than usual after his nap.
- They discover Tali at Freedom's Progress. He never trusted Quarians, as they are responsible for the Geth. He asks Tali to join forces to find Veetor, so that he can keep an eye on the Quarians.
- When we find Veetor (the mad Quarian), Cerberus wanted him for experimentation. Gramps saved him from Cerberus, and sent him away with Tali.
- Cerberus built a new command ship for Gramps, and equipped with an AI. Shepard's first priority is to to unplug the abomination and toss Miranda and Jacob out the air lock. But he needs them.... for now.
- Gramps enjoyed the R&R of Afterlife. The talent is top notch.
- A few people on Omega tried to ask favors of Gramps, but he has enough trouble with Cerberus looking over his shoulder. Solve your own problems, people!
- Gramps recruited a Salarian doctor, and the two are getting along well. They are practical old farts, and make a good team.
- Garrus has joined the squad. Now that Gramps has three trusted squad members (Garrus, Solus, and Joker), he is prepared to overthrow the Cerberus madmen who run his ship.
OOC: I'm having a hard time being Renegade in Mass Effect 2. Because Gramps doesn't trust TIM/Cerberus, his dialog choices have been Paragon. He's gotten a few renegade points from distrusting Miranda and Jacob, but for now he is significantly more paragon than I planned.
