For the Lone Wolf banner you do NOT need to do a Platinum Solo. You can get it by doing two Gold solos, 5 silver, and 10 bronze. I got the Lone Wolf this way. If I had to do the Platinum solo I would never have bothered. (Doing the Gold solo's was kind of cheesy as it was: I went with the talon merc on firebase white against Geth and hid in the little cubby hole in the back and cain mined the approach. Not what I would call a legitimate solo.)

LOL! All this time and I didn't realized you must complete only 3 of the 4 avaliable Challenges! You just made my day :D

I could easily do my remaining Gold Solo again with my pure melee Battlemaster against Geth, but I think I'm gonna let my Talon-wielding Smashguard do it. He can complete solo Silvers against Reapers/Geth easily (sometimes with barely any consumable used), so I'm gonna see if he's also Gold-capable.

My Kroguard can get through a silver solo with no problems at all (a pure charge and melee build). But stepping up to Gold proved to be too much: to much stagger; poorly aimed charges. Usually around wave 8 there were no Juggernaughts around, giving me no decent charge targets. Juggernaughts proved to be my best friend since they were so big you couldn't miss. :)

Is it this build or similar? It's odd, I had mostly no problems with it on Glacier/Geth/Gold....with Barrier and Cyclonic IV you're practically a headbutting tank.

Mostly the same build. but with area instead of heavy charge. Also, no Cyclonic IV.

Here is my build and sample play. (I went down once on wave 10.)

I'll bet Dahlia also forgot to use her gun to shoot the glass separating her from Rodrigez and instead tried to smash the glass with it's butt. (That scene always reminds me of one of Kevin Costner's lines from Dances with Wolves: "Shoot the gun!" after one of his Indian friends clubs someone with it.)

I hope our next hero is not made into a moron for the sake of drama.

Maybe she didn't shoot the glass to avoid things like this? Who knows what the glass is made of? It can be destroyed but will resist for some time :)

Yep, it's more or less how I play. Well, your reactions are a bit slow, probably due to playing on console (PC here :D Less problems aiming for "small Geth" that way, too).

I'd put on Cyclonic IV and give another Gold try.

P.D: Althought your krogan is pink too, mine is still prettier :P xD

I have never had a Cyclonic IV. I would rather have gotten some of the weapons mods instead. But after I maxed out my gold weapons, the game started giving ammo IV consumables rather than weapon mods. At that point I stopped playing out of disgust.

The problem I had for a Vanguard is that the charge button was hard coded to the Y button, meaning I have to move my thumb off the camera stick to charge (and to melee, which is the B button). If Charge was the right bumper, I would not have had a problem. But that fraction of a second while my thumb moves from the camera stick to the Y button is enough to screw things up.

Today I ordered a book about space ^_^ And of course I proceeded with Hannah.

I was ready to have that talk about what happened on Virmire with Kaidan. I was relieved as he kept it very professional and even said himself the mission should come first. And that we'd deal with "us" later on. We talked about overcoming Ashley's death... we will remember her, but now is not the time.

Liara said she feels sorry for Saren. Can't say I do, but I heard her out. Whatever Saren's reasoning to join Sovereign was, he must be stopped.
Garrus thanked me for letting him on board, and I can't say I regretted it at any point. It surprises me to feel that way, but I guess in the end Garrus was right. Not all turians are the same.
I talked with Captain Kirrahe. He seems like a decent guy and he told me our actions and William's sacrifice will be remembered.

(Tali didn't say anything new, meh.)
I learned the Council was ready to assist on a bigger scale, finally. Met with them and Udina, but their only plan was to guard the relays linking to Citadel space. They still don't get it, and even that bastard Udina is on their side, denying the Saren threat. I'm outraged and we returned to the Normandy, grounded. I felt helpless, but Kaidan stopped by and we talked. I felt better after this, and there was a lot of tension between us, longing for that kiss...
But Joker interrupted us saying that Captain Anderson wanted to meet at Flux. With Anderson's help we could take control of the Normandy again and pursue the task that lay ahead of us.

I didn't know what would happen once we head for Ilos, so we took care of a few last things, helping Garrus with Dr. Saleon, getting rid of the rogue VI on the moon and dealing with Corporal Toombs and a doctor. I listened to Toombs' story and let him kill the doc, then he shot himself.

Back on the Normandy I was working while we were heading for the Mu Relay, when Kaidan paid me a visit. We talked about the whole situation, but somehow I also foolishly threw our resolutions away and asked him to spend the night. I wanted him, and it felt good to feel the warmth of someone's skin and hands. I felt safe, loved. I felt the weight taken off my shoulders for a while. It ended soon enough.

Joker told me we'd be going through the relay soon, and we got ready. He dropped the Mako with Alenko, T'Soni and me on Ilos. We were too late though and saw Saren proceed through a closing door. We found our way around eventually and could head through the door as well.

We saw a lot of pods on the walls, but T'Soni detected no signs of life. We were stopped by a force field and had to examine the only open path, where we found a Prothean VI. We learned a lot about what's happened to the Prothean researchers here and also what happens right now, what Saren's trying to accomplish. We had to find the conduit, and quickly, because it linked to the Citadel and Saren's trying to overwrite controls to Sovereign so the Reapers can return. We headed through the trenches and shot down any geth in our way, then made it through the conduit. We crash-landed on the Citadel, had to kill some husks and were given a status report by Avina. It's not looking too good and we have to hurry. I called the elevator and we have a few moments to catch our breaths.

Dahlia Shepard (Flare Infiltrator) was busy today. Or rather, she was busy in several in-game days.

1. Slapped around some Cerberus goons on Tuchanka and secured a giant cannon for the Alliance. Or maybe it was for the Krogan? She'll let Hackett sort that out.

2. Landed on Tuchanka again, this time to rescue a Turian Platoon. The platoon was angry at their leader, Lieutenant Tarquin Victus. Victus was a bit despondant and did not want to continue the mission. Dahlia knows what that is like, but she also knows to never give up so she convinced Victus to continue his mission and he managed to inspired his men to go on.

3. The Turian's mission was to disable a Cerberus bomb. Except the Cerberus bomb was actually a Turian bomb planted on Tuchanka centuries ago. Dahlia took the news in stride and fought her way through a war zone to get to Victus. A sniper took out a the few remaining Turians except for Victus, who worked to disable the bomb while Dahlia took on Cerberus. She managed to distract Cerberus long enough for Victus to disable the bomb, but he died when he was forced to disable it manually. Dahlia took the loss hard.

4. Not wanting Wrex to feel left out, Dahlia set off to find some Krogan scouts. She ran into Grunt, another person who managed to survive the Suicide Mission. As she recalled, Grunt was the only squadmate left to hold the line... and enjoyed every second of it.

Dahlia and her squad fought their way through Reaper forces, including Reaper-ized Rachni, and got to the central Rachni nest, where they found the Rachni Queen she had let go years before on Noveria. She then had to choose between saving the queen or Aralakh Company. She decided to save the queen. She hoped she made the right choice.

5. Dahlia and squad raided a Cerberus Lab and extracted some Reaper technology that Cerberus was studying. She sent it to Hackett as per her orders.

6. Dahlia and squad landed on Benning to rescue some civilians who were being killed by Cerberus. She managed to save some civilians and distract Cerberus long enough for other civilians to evacuate. But it still hurt her to see civilians gunned down in front of her because she was not fast enough. It reminded her of Elysium. She vowed she would be better the next time.

7. Dahlia dressed like Santa Claus and handed out some gifts to people on the Citadel. Some biotic amp interfaces for you, some dog tags for you, and some medi-gel for you... Merry Christmas! Ho ho ho!

Next, it will be time to cure the genophage. Should be straightforward, right?

The students made it safely to the shuttle, but Cerberus managed to shoot Prangley in the back. Dahlia turned to see his lifeless body just as the shuttle doors closed. Dahlia felt personally responsible since she should have been at the back providing suppressing fire while the students went to the shuttle; instead, she made a foolish decision to run ahead assuming Prangley would be fine.

Why couldn't the squadmates provide cover fire for Prangley while Shepard helped Rodriguez?  There was no reason for Prangley to be killed.

You wouldn't happen to have a video of that? I went looking on youtube for squadmate comments during the hold the line segment, but couldn't find one. I have heard that Grunt's dialogue is rather amusing. (Garrus, OTOH, sounds extremely desperate for some reason. "We are in some serious trouble here.")

Today I finished my full Renegade, Earthborn, Ruthless ME2 playthrough. I played a Male Shepard Vanguard.

I always chose every Renegade options, so you pretty much know what choices I made. (Chose Morinth, gave Legion to Cerberus, preserved Collector Base, gave David to Cerberus, etc)

I let Tali and Jacob die during the SM. Didn't do their Loyalty Missions because my Shepard didn't have time to waste on them. He didn't really care about Tali, so it didn't bother him at all that she would be exiled (but hey, she died instead) and Jacob's father's ship crashed like 10 years ago, they're probably all dead anyway (and so is Jacob now).

I'll be starting ME3 tomorrow (well today since its past midnight). As weird as it sounds, I can't wait to see more characters die. That's something that never happened in my previous playthroughs.

EDIT: Oh I forgot to do Arrival. I guess I'll do that before starting ME3.

We were forced to leave the elevator at some point and proceeded to the top of the tower on the exhaust plain, fighting geth along the way.
Resistance was strong, but we made it, and we confronted Saren in the Council's chambers. He would not see that he's indoctrinated, going on and on about Sovereign and uniting with the Reapers. I was tired of this and so we started to shoot him down. When he dropped to the lower level I used Vigil's data file and it worked. We heard the Ascension is in trouble, and Joker called in to give him orders. I chose to sacrifice the Council, we needed to concentrate fire on Sovereign. He's the real threat, and I will see this thing dead.
I sent Alenko and T'Soni down to Saren to make sure he's gone. Too bad he wasn't. He turned into a weird creature, but with a biotics-heavy squad we could take him down very quickly.
A defeated Sovereign came crashing down on us, and it took me a while to get out of the rubble, but then I finally saw Kaidan. I returned his smile, we made it and we're both alive.
In the aftermath with Udina and Anderson I was asked what I think about a human councilor. I'd rather leave that to the politicians, I have to deal with the Reaper threat. With those words I walked away.

Everything went so good lately without any dying from my side, then those goddamn turrets on the Citadel defense grid caught me twice, hahaha.
Sooo, plans for Hannah in ME2 (I will go for Insanity again I guess, I want to see the differences in the classes ^_^):
Waking up in the Cerberus facility, she's gonna be confused, and even more confused about the lack of the Alliance's help. Her loyalty here starts to fall apart, but she will also not trust TIM.
She will still be cautious of aliens, but has learned to try and be more open, especially since she deals with more aliens again for her new mission. She still hates batarians though, she hasn't recovered from that :D

Did another ME2 run through...

First time I killed the Reaper with a Cain. :P Then I blew more crap up when I left.

Also, had full surviving crew (but didn't recruit Samara)... I forgot it plays the original Mass Effect theme when you do that.

Not at the moment. When I have time later today, I'll rush through the Suicide Mission to get a recording of it.

Thessia. The Asari homeworld is lost to the Reaper invasion. All that intellectual advantage.... they went quickly.

Spoiler

Cereberus defeated me. My mind is blown. That jackarse TIM had the jump on me.

Spoiler

But I'm never down for long. Cereberus is already dead. They just don't know it yet. I'm putting the Reaper threat on hold and making plans to get TIM at his home. Smear him like a bug across his living room floor. And Kai Lame? I have special plans for his corpse.

I finished Omega last night which means now I've done all of the ME3 DLC immediately after the coup except for the party which I'm saving for later like after Rannoch. I think partying after Thessia would be a bit in bad taste and with the sense of urgency probably not a good idea plot wise.

Nyreen proved once again she was a waste of a good character. I got an extra 5000 war assets for finding Aria's couch, and it proved once again that Omega was the best DLC of ME3 because it was back to back bad asses: Shepard and Aria. It doesn't get any better. And Shepard turned away as Aria choked Petrovsky.

Up next: Rannoch.

Councilor Esheel had suspicions about Udina and Naomi came to the Citadel to investigate. Unfortunately, she arrived too late - Cerberus were already in control of the docks and Naomi had to fight her way through waves of hostiles to get to the Council. An assassin got the Salarian Councilor but she managed to catch up with the rest of the councilors. Udina tried to frame her for Esheel's death but Naomi doesn't miss from such distances. Kaidan was wise to get out of the way :)
