Today I ordered a book about space
And of course I proceeded with Hannah.
I was ready to have that talk about what happened on Virmire with Kaidan. I was relieved as he kept it very professional and even said himself the mission should come first. And that we'd deal with "us" later on. We talked about overcoming Ashley's death... we will remember her, but now is not the time.
Liara said she feels sorry for Saren. Can't say I do, but I heard her out. Whatever Saren's reasoning to join Sovereign was, he must be stopped.
Garrus thanked me for letting him on board, and I can't say I regretted it at any point. It surprises me to feel that way, but I guess in the end Garrus was right. Not all turians are the same.
I talked with Captain Kirrahe. He seems like a decent guy and he told me our actions and William's sacrifice will be remembered.
(Tali didn't say anything new, meh.)
I learned the Council was ready to assist on a bigger scale, finally. Met with them and Udina, but their only plan was to guard the relays linking to Citadel space. They still don't get it, and even that bastard Udina is on their side, denying the Saren threat. I'm outraged and we returned to the Normandy, grounded. I felt helpless, but Kaidan stopped by and we talked. I felt better after this, and there was a lot of tension between us, longing for that kiss...
But Joker interrupted us saying that Captain Anderson wanted to meet at Flux. With Anderson's help we could take control of the Normandy again and pursue the task that lay ahead of us.
I didn't know what would happen once we head for Ilos, so we took care of a few last things, helping Garrus with Dr. Saleon, getting rid of the rogue VI on the moon and dealing with Corporal Toombs and a doctor. I listened to Toombs' story and let him kill the doc, then he shot himself.
Back on the Normandy I was working while we were heading for the Mu Relay, when Kaidan paid me a visit. We talked about the whole situation, but somehow I also foolishly threw our resolutions away and asked him to spend the night. I wanted him, and it felt good to feel the warmth of someone's skin and hands. I felt safe, loved. I felt the weight taken off my shoulders for a while. It ended soon enough.
Joker told me we'd be going through the relay soon, and we got ready. He dropped the Mako with Alenko, T'Soni and me on Ilos. We were too late though and saw Saren proceed through a closing door. We found our way around eventually and could head through the door as well.
We saw a lot of pods on the walls, but T'Soni detected no signs of life. We were stopped by a force field and had to examine the only open path, where we found a Prothean VI. We learned a lot about what's happened to the Prothean researchers here and also what happens right now, what Saren's trying to accomplish. We had to find the conduit, and quickly, because it linked to the Citadel and Saren's trying to overwrite controls to Sovereign so the Reapers can return. We headed through the trenches and shot down any geth in our way, then made it through the conduit. We crash-landed on the Citadel, had to kill some husks and were given a status report by Avina. It's not looking too good and we have to hurry. I called the elevator and we have a few moments to catch our breaths.
