Got wiped out on Turian Platoon on insanity with my charge-nova-melee-only character.

I love Edi, but I can't seem to spec her to live.

Anyway, I got through the last fight after like 7 times. Serves me right for doing it early in the game and deciding I would avoid all buttons that aren't bioticfistofdeathrelated... And not taking Javik.

On the bright side, only the last fight gave me a hard time, I blew up all the harvesters, and gloriously, I found out I COULD charge and melee one to death in that level. It was so beautiful I shed a single tear for freedom. And punching.

It also contains my favorite incidental moment. "Look, Shepard. We've got the jump on them. What should we do?" "Follow my lead..."*WAUAAAAAAAARGH VANGUARD CHARGE ACROSS THE MAP* I do that every single time I'm on a vanguard.

If you get another 360 for your wife, you could get another tv with both of you playing side by side.

That was along my line of thinking. Already looking at a larger TV for my Xbox play.

I've just got out of the thessia's temple...alive...it's incredible, I managed to survive the kai leng fight on insanity with two biotics (javik and liara), one soldier (my shep) and no overload, just running and gunning with my old AR with disruptor ammo like there is no tomorrow. I thought I wouldn't make it... I had more problems on my first run as an infiltrator on normal lol.

I guess I depend too much on kaidan...when the game throws me without him, I become more sloppy. Next time Kai Leng, I'll bring my shepard's Love interest -kaidan- and liara and we will overload your ass to hell. that's a promise.

Took care of the clone/merc business, unwound a bit in the Armax Arena, and threw a low-key, quiet party for friends old and new. Bailed Grunt out of jail (made him apologize) and bested Zaeed at Claw, then got back to work. Cerberus is done, Leng is dead, and we're headed back to Earth to finish off the Reapers.

Update: Reapers are toast and now anti-social Shepard is going to retire someplace warm and dry and live happily ever after with Thane (yes, he's alive and well, thanks to ThaneMod). To stave off boredom, she plans to spend some time playing a Galaxy-of-Fantasy knock off called, I believe, Dragon Age.

Ok, after thessia, I'm going to finish both leviathan and citadel DLCs. Leviathan on Insanity is not a fun ride (darn battery phase) but still I managed to get through and meet the happy leviathan folk. Nice info about reapers.

And started Citadel, with a lvl 60 soldier with stasis bonus power on insanity... just find a nasty surprise on the first mission of citadel (put it on spoiler to not spoil the surprise for those who have not played the citadel dlc yet)

Spoiler

Really, that mission is not fun with a soldier

Just a tip; you should go investigate Sanctuary before continuing the second half of the Citadel DLC :)

Well, where you're at now, I'd consider the first half of Citadel DLC. Second half comes after all this. It's just that if you don't go to Sanctuary before the second half you'll miss out on some content later. I did that the first time I played the Citadel DLC.

I'm thinking seriously of getting back to a save before citadel. It pains me, but maybe I could replace stasis with another power that damage shields, and pray to god to survive again that hellish first mission.

thanx for the tip Spork

Anytime. :)  Just want to clarify -- and wow it's hard to do without spoilers, heh -- by "first half" I mean the whole Maya Brooks thing that you're dealing with now. Second half of the DLC  comes afterwards, and yes you'll have a chance to leave and come back. Okay. Gonna shut up now and let you enjoy it.

My suggestion is to go with Dominate specced to deal damage to the target. Your cool downs are atrocious during that segment. Fortunately, Dominate's cool down is no worse than most, the domination lasts longer than the cool down, it gets people off your back, and hopefully kills your target.

I went in as a Sentinel on Insanity the first time I did it (blind) and got clobbered because my Overload would not cool down fast enough to keep up. After that I went with Dominate all the other times and life got tremendously easier.

Energy Drain might be useful, not only does it drain shields it will give you a boost to damage resistance. Otherwise the pistol should almost exclusively be used for dealing headshots and setting up tech combos with the Disrupter Ammo stun effect as the primer and Concussive Shot as the detonator.

Thanx for the tips guys! I feel like a noob now, even having beaten this game twice. I never thought about the tech combo with disruptor ammo+ concussive, Domination (I never used it on ME2, and I just got it recently after leviathan). I thought about energy drain, but I think I'll try dominate just to try out a power that I never tested before.

I'll return to a save before citadel, kick some cerberus butts on horizon, and return with these ideas on mind to citadel. That's what I get by going blindly to citadel dlc on insanity for the first time lol.

Gotta love playing it as an Infiltrator. Better watch out, Shepard's going Sam Fisher on your ass...

Re-imported my only custom male Shepard into a NG+ +. Gonna try to finally get all weapons maxed this time through, although after just looking at the cost of some of the higher levels I still need for the add-on pack guns, it's going to be tough. I won't be doing any shopping until I get the two discounts in place. I also still need to buy the Wraith and Paladin, but at least my BW is already at level X. Blew through 2 Guardians with one shot on Mars.  :D  I'm now back on the ship after the useless meeting with the Council, and finding it rather tedious to make the rounds to talk to everyone. Anti-social Shep was kind of fun since I got to skip all that. Unfortunately, Infiltrator Ken is more of a people person.

Yeah, it's nicely different. Figuring out which forms are best for each situation and rapidly changing between them is quite an interesting setup.

It quickly loses its charm after a few play throughs. Thank the lord for the Skip the Fade mod on PC.

All I've done for the past few days with the Mass Effect trilogy is to get it running on Windows 8.1.

ME1 seems to trigger the UAC every time I run it and I'm doing some coalesced tinkering for 2 and 3 now to get it back to how I like to play.

Only problem is that I can't remember what to change to increase the shields in ME3.

First time doing the Fade: awesome

2nd time: oh... this again.

3rd time: I really want the stat increase but damn...

Though of course this could be very different for you.

Replaying ME1, just killing a lot of Geth right now. Also getting use to the slightly diff control layout. (kinda frustrating) I will be quite happy to load this up into ME2 as infiltrator though!!

Finally, saved the earth, and completed the game on insanity for the first time, unlocking the two achievements I was looking for, for completing every one player mission on insanity, and the other by not changing the diff level upon leaving earth. (Now I have to get 4 more of the DLC that I missed, like the meticulous achievement on omega). It's strange, but in insanity, citadel DLC is far more difficult than priority earth. Maybe I got better, who knows.... at least I'm a bit more competent than before lol.

And, my canon story for my renegon (mostly renegade, but sometimes paragon) male shepard is complete.

One thing I never did before..is completing any game of the trilogy with a fem shep. Finally, Raf Shepard's story is over...but maybe Victoria Shepard will take her place on the galaxy later.

Oh, and another thing that annoyed me with the final TIM's conversation

There's a dialogue option on Mars under one of the left hand dislogue options that you need to chose a blue/red repsonse to. It's easy to miss.
