Well, when Petrovsky trapped Aria, he taunted Shepard, reminding her that she failed xenobiology and once thought Asari needed other species to reproduce. Aria, while trapped shouted, "Shepard! Did you really think that?"

I've never picked synthesis. In Control, Shepard will still have to listen to people talk about that for a few years, or maybe it will get written in the book about The Shepard. In Destroy, if Shepard survives, she'll have to hear it the rest of her life. Synthesis is her only way out of the torture.

A lot of people choose the same ending over and over. Be different this time.

I picked Synthesis with Drake Shepard - fat Stasis Sentinel. He thought it suited his eye color

Best reason yet. :D

You're also brave for choosing the receding hairline.

I will switch it up between synthesis, control, and destroy but I never pick refuse.  I picked destroy with Tyson.  So far with Sandra I am leaning toward control but I might pick synthesis.  Oh well I have a long time to decide.  Barely at the halfway point of ME 1 with her.

Renegade  John Shepard on insanity...

Shepard spoke with Wrex about a missing Krogan squad and there could be Rachni involvement. Shepard didn't believe this assessment because he killed the queen on Noveria. Therefore, he decided to check this rumour with his own eyes. Shepard met a jolly, angry Krogan by the name of Dagg (because he didn't open the Krogan tank). Dagg told Shepard that Wrex trusts him to lead Aralakh company and feels the Rachni presence.

Shepard needed to travel through an underground cave network and flattened clusters of spore pods with the flare ability. Managed to meet up with Dagg and Shepard wished him luck and Dagg replied "luck is for a Salarian male hoping to please it's mate"  er... a very random analogy :?. Found a mutated Rachni and the general consensus among Liara/Garrus was to destroy the corruption. The mutant wasn't putting forward the most convincing argument for freedom by saying the children will destroy everything! Shepard decided to keep the mutant Rachni as a resource to combat the Reapers (not Shepard's most intelligent decision as he says no to the Rachni Queen on Noveria but a Mutant Reaper corruption is ok ). Aralakh company were sacrificed and Dagg decided to make a last stand against the Rachni. He charged in and said "Time to die!". Then Dagg died and he even had the sad music in the background despite only knowing Shepard for a few minutes. Wrex's distrust with Shepard probably will have grown from these actions as his elite Aralakh company has been decimated.

Mordin created the cure and it only needs to be transmitted. Shepard decided to go to Tuchanka to disperse the cure so Victus will need to sort out his own problems. There was a brief conversation with the Dalatrass and Shepard decided to deceive the Krogan to get both Krogan and Salarian support. Wrex has been mistrustful of Shepard ever since they have reunited so Shepard isn't going to be doing any favours in return (Shepard is a petty renegade after all ). Shepard chose to stay quiet on the shuttle/truck and tried to keep his sabotage look to himself. EDI was a companion and saw the Reaper guarding the Shroud. She told Shepard: "we need what organics call a miracle".

Shepard reached the lab and Mordin is all set for a cure. He tried to delay Mordin from progressing any further. "Mordin you're not going up!" was the first warning but Mordin wasn't having it. The sabotage attempt was discovered and Shepard enquired about the change in his attitude over the months. Mordin said he made a mistake. Shepard was undeterred though and asked Mordin to stand down again. Mordin was defiant yet again and Shepard shot him in the back... :(

Mordin tried to scramble his way to the console (with sad music in the background :() and was a fingertip away from disrupting Shepard's plan. Mordin was able to change anything and died a few feet away from his target (In my opinion, this is the worst renegade choice of the entire trilogy). The placebo cure was dispersed and Eve died. Shepard also had the audacity to attend Eve's funeral even though his past decisions killed her. Shepard now has Krogan/Salarian aid and Victus promises Shepard support. Shepard had a dream about the voices of the past but Mordin's cuts the deepest.

Next stop: The Citadel

Heh, I'm away from the thread for a few days and then the likes don't want me to catch up.  :pinched:

Shepard’s crowning achievement in tactlessness: taking a geth to a quarian ship.

Naturally, the quarians didn’t like this, and Shep ended up threatening to cough all over their nice clean ship. Somehow, this worked, despite being surrounded. They could’ve easily clocked him on the head and left him in the Normandy. Bet they’d love to meet EDI. I can’t stop laughing at this:
Quarian: “You’re charged with bringing active geth back to the Fleet.”
Tali: “I would never do that!”
Legion: “...”
 Even better is when they walk into the trial, full of quarians. Admiral Koris shouted “Security, there’s a geth in the courtroom!” Camera cuts to Legion looking around like “a geth?! Where?!” Ah, marvellous!  ^_^

Shepard was not pleased about them springing news of the Alarei on Tali, and made sure to let them know about it. In private though, he appreciated Raan’s efforts to tilt things in Tali’s favour. It’s a subtle bit of politicking that would never have occurred to him. They stopped to say hi to Reegar, dear Veetor, and the admirals – including Legion’s number one fan. Shepard might have to put a tracker on Legion to make sure Xen doesn’t walk off with our robot.  :?

The Alarei was pretty easy with Tali and Legion, even without their loyalty powers. Combat drones all over the place! Shep gave Tali a hug when she found out about her father, and intends to make good on that promise to get her to the homeworld one day. After the Reapers are dealt with, but one day. He also apologised to Legion for the sheer amount of friendly fire occurring. :pinched: The admirals declared Tali cleared of all charges with their lovely, lovely voices.

In the spirit of fairness, Shep then took Tali to the heretic station. I’m giving this a whirl on veteran to see how much I would like it. Playing a bit more tactically and a bit less Jenkins-y meant that it was fairly easy too. Only real problem was that I had to change my tactics for the final battle with waves of geth.

Talking to Legion on the station makes it seem that the geth are more alien than the actual aliens. Even EDI seems pretty human. But the way the geth think and perceive things is so strange, Shep will probably never understand it. He opted to destroy the station, since there’s no guarantee the heretics won’t switch sides again. Plus, explosions! (Jack would approve, I'm sure  :P )

He chatted to everyone after that. The Legion/Tali fight was calmed. Mordin sang. Grunt wanted to hit things (and Shep is fully supportive). Garrus is still calibrating. Samara shared some stories. Jacob doesn’t ‘want to force these talks’. Jack was very confused that Shepard wants to be her friend and not sleep with her. Apparently the Reaper IFF is nearly installed.

Legion has a great deal of dialogue after his loyalty mission. I think he goes through something like 3 different cycles. So I hope you saved some side missions for after the suicide mission. It took me forever before I finally heard Legion talk about the Dyson Sphere and get the codex entry on the Geth. I had always just moved on to ME3 after the SM and one wrap up mission, either Arrival or Overlord.

I do LotSB soon after Horizon... right around Jack's loyalty (only have her give me the quest, not do it yet). Vasir's comments about Pragia don't fit as well for me anywhere else. I prefer Shep being undecided on Cerberus at that point. Because you're pretty much railroaded to defend Cerberus somewhat, talking to Vasir. Kind of a crappy thing to do if you actually do Jack's loyalty...and still defend killing and torturing children. I'm not gonna play some sick bastard like that.

Or does he say something else post-SM? Now I can't even remember.

The Salarian male comment was probably a nod to this

Spoiler

I still chuckle a little when I hear that line :D

On topic of DLC timelines, I always finish ME2 with the Suicide Mission. I know that Arrival is supposed to come later but SM ending is just too epic to be replaced with Hackett's BS about coming back to Earth :D

Playthrough 11 of ME1 is done.

You'd think that after all that time the battle against Saren would become stale but hell no, the music and his transformation still really get to me.

Shepard is now moving on to ME2, think she'll romance Kelly. Would love to get something going with Samara but going down the renegade path doesn't really fit with that. Oh well, I'm just waiting for Traynor to enter the game.

Control creeps me out. I only have one Shepard that will ever pick Control: my Puppet Master Engineer, because she is all about control.

Synthesis also creeps me out, but I have a few Shepards that pick it.

Destroy is a safe option and fairly decent.

Refuse is probably my favorite option, although I do not choose it that often. I once picked it by accident. (I'll shoot the glowy thing while I walk to Destroy. SO BE IT! "Oh crap!").

I picked Refuse recently, just to see it.. but I don't understand it. The Catalyst is basically saying "You win. The Harvest is irrelevant now. Game over. Here's 3 better options."

And then Refuse is like, "Nah... just continue it. For no particular reason except my out-of-game player based dissatisfaction."

I laugh at Refuse.

"I'll die knowing I did everything to stop you..."

Except using the Crucible, that is :D

Claudia Black as a Stargazer is the only good thing about that ending IMO :)

Oh, is that who it is? Yeah, that's cool at least.

On a sidenote, this whole time I thought Courtenay Taylor did Aethyta, but found out recently that's Claudia too.

Today Naomi saved some guy named Jacob. He acted as if the two knew each other, but she can't remember ever seeing the guy. ME3 default runs are weird that way :D

I actually did some stuff with my Flare Infiltrator (Dahlia Shepard) the other day, and I am working on the post, but it is probably going to take a while to write up, so it will be later this week when I actually get to post it. It is going to be another novel-esque approach, so... fair warning.

But in summary, she went to The Shroud, then hit the Cerberus Fighter Base.

Nah I think Shepard has the same dialog pre or post SM with Vasir.   I do like how the SB actually acknowledges Shepard's decision regarding the CB if you do LoTSB after the SM.

I just realized how much we ME fans love our acroynyms.

That's a shame. I was hoping I was wrong.

I kind of see LotSB as a replacement of Liara's stuff in the original game. So I do it all at once. I remember an interview where Ali Hillis said she didn't really know what was going on, and she was blindly saying lines, not feeling the character or her motivations.. she was hoping it'd be rectified and it was..

Yep, I've got the three big dlc missions, plus a few N7. The same thing happened with me, I didn't hear Legion's extra conversations until maybe my fourth or fifth playthrough. Didn't even realise you could continue conversations post-game, since other squadmates were usually done by that point. Too bad we can't ask more questions about the Dyson Sphere like how it would work and what they intend to do once it's done.

I don't even think Legion could answer that.

"What future are the Geth building?"

"Ours."

That's all that really matters. It's just one step at a time to them. And you're either cool with the potential chaos and unknown.. or want to orchestrate history.

And it's why I shoot him later.

Miranda, Jacob and I arrived at the Citadel, picked up Kasumi as per Illusive's man dossier and my status of being dead was revoked by Captain Bailey of C-Sec.

I picked up ingredients for the cook, brandy for Dr. Chakwas and then we headed for the Presidium. To be honest I was a bit stiff in front of Anderson. How do you greet someone who thought you were dead for 2 years? I cut right to the chase asking what he wanted, but our chat turned around when I angrily asked why the hell the Alliance turned their back on me. Why did I have to wake up being in a Cerberus facility? Anderson explained himself and I calmed down a bit, especially when he assures me he knows I would never cooperate with Cerberus without any good reason. At least he shows some faith in me. I told him everything I know, about the Collectors, the attacks, but it seems I can't get any help from the Alliance or the Council side. So much for that. The new Council still doesn't want to acknowledge the Reaper threat, neither does Udina. Speaking of the devil he appeared right away, of course I couldn't get away without seeing his treacherous face. I then had the opportunity to ask Anderson about Kaidan, but he wouldn't give me any details about him. Classified mission. Figures. All I got is I know now he's been promoted to staff commander.

Frustrated, I followed the Illusive Man's suggestion of picking up this Mordin Solus first, so we headed for Omega. We ran into a batarian who makes clear that some Aria person calls the shots here. I still feel that sting whenever I see one of these bastards, even after all these years.

We bumped into Zaeed as well and I sent him to the ship. Let's see what this Aria has to say.

I bought space hamster, but no fish this time

Normally I don't go much for Liara - too intrusive (and although I love Scout Harding's voice) I don't like Liara's :P . I do like the humour around her in LotSB. Especially the skycar chase :D and seeing how many times BW can use the word cloaca in one joke.
