Today Shepard saved the Quarians and the Geth. She suffered from cut scene stupidity on Thessia and failed to shoot Kai Leng when he first appeared although her boss ass pistol suddenly changed to the basic Predator again once again indicating how badly made this game was. Also I noticed a few other things in the War Assets where I'd made one choice and the opposite choice appeared further underscoring the poor quality. How it got a 10 in GI and other magazines is beyond me.

Now securely in Walters' magic box with synthetics fighting along side, I went to Thessia, and afterward I understood that "we" meant "we as in allied forces" not "we as in the Normandy." I didn't talk to Hackett or Anderson afterward. "I'm sorry" meant "I'm sorry your planet is getting wiped out...." I took EDI and Liara on the mission. EDI was a riot.

But you know, I really don't care for Shepard that much anymore. See I have a FF Asari Spectre who would have stood before the Asari councilor and lit a cigarette (add slight British accent): "No. Cerberus took the VI program from the Prothean Archive. We were outgunned. Instead I saw highly trained Asari Commandos being slaughtered needlessly because you delayed giving me the information about the aforementioned artifact. If you think for one moment that it is easy for me to stand here and remain composed, think again. Now, you do your job and prepare for continuity of our civilization while I figure out a way of cleaning up your f*cking mess." *click*  Mope? Nope.

Today I'm kinda pissed off because I don't remember if I killed that Rana Thanoptis ****** in ME1 with my favourite Vanguard Shepard, whose saves I have stored.

Yeah, I'm that bored... :P

Recently I've started another ME1 playthrough. Haven't played the Game in years and I wanted to re-experience how the Mako was like (since it returns in the next game). So most of the time I am simply exploring planets and driving around with the Mako (and only occasionally doing missions). And I have to say, even with the outdated graphics and difficult control it is still magic. Only the hill climbing is annoying.

A little thing that I discovered is that you cannot give Wrex his family armor unless you recruit him. I decided not to this time, later found the pirate base where the armor is located. Journal entry suggested that I should talk to "the Krogan I encountered on the Citadel". I wanted to give the piece to him and maybe earn some extra credits, but when I visited him in chora's den all dialogue options were about him joining my team. Oh well, guess I'm keeping the armor then, even though it might be a little too big for my Shepard.

I've been skipping the Mako for a long time.

But since I just bought the trilogy on PS3, I might do a real completionist run through for the hell of it. Get all the pointless Salarian IDs and everything. :P

I completed my final play through of ME3. It ends with Cerberus getting the Catalyst. The Illusive Man can win the war.

I'm pretty sure the Reapers will still win that one (don't they control him?), but nice effort. ;)

You might be right. I assumed he was because the Reapers move the Citadel then.

I think TIM might have a better chance, without competing with Shepard in the first place. Maybe he chills out then. Like if Shep dies in the SM.

Offtopic: I found a funny quote from Hudson on ME3 (when ME2 was released). He was almost being serious...

So you've mentioned that all of the squad members from the first game turn up in the new game, and Shepard tries to recruit them for this mission. Some of them are interested, others aren't. Is this like a Blues Brothers thing?

I'll have to watch that again. Don't they drive a car through a mall in that? That'll be in Mass Effect 3.

In the wake of their suicide mission, Shepard decided to talk to his crew. Jack is still confused about why he doesn't want to have sex. Tali hit on him, and Shep had to let her down gently. Then Mordin felt that he had to let Shepard down gently. Fortunately, no one else had romantic intentions. Samara was quite the opposite – warning she would have to hunt him down after this. Charming!

Shep finally went to meet Liara at home. When he got there, the place had been shot up. If someone’s tried to kill his old crew member, they'll be eating singularities for breakfast. Liara’s place is pretty nice – clinical and full of rocks, but nice.  :P

What is it with asari wanting to kill him lately? Vasir revealed herself as the assassin and jumped through a window. Shep tackled her, promptly forgetting his biotics as she slammed him into the ground. Liara leapt over him without a second thought and ran after her. Well.

Once he caught up, there was a very fun car chase  that had Liara very worried. Perhaps she’s remembering the good old days in the Mako? Don’t worry, Shep is a much better driver now. He only crashed into that exploding truck once and bounced off several skyscrapers. Shep sounded like he was having the time of his life (Meer is great in this dlc!). They crash-landed and treated the mercs to some double-singularity goodness. Vasir took a hostage when they caught up with her. Shep couldn’t pick any persuasion options, despite his paragon/renegade levels looking like this:
Spoiler
Oookay then. -_- So he shot the hostage in the arm. “You’ll live.”

Turns out Vasir isn’t that tough, even with lackeys to call. She loves jostling Shep with that shockwave though. She went out gloriously – pulled into a singularity while on fire, then launched off the side of the building. Of course, she was back for the next cutscene. Tenacious woman!  :P

Shep took it nice and easy through the SB (Son of a B*tch?) ship. He and Liara make a marvellous biotic team, and her newfound ruthlessness is finally endearing her to him. They were actually joking and having a good time as they ploughed through mercs. Mordin clearly felt like a third wheel, since he said nothing at all. Liara’s come a long way from being a cowering annoyance to Shep.

The Shadow Broker turned out to be one ugly guy. And those teeth! Can’t imagine anyone’s lining up to kiss that face anytime soon. Shep would rather romance a batarian. :P The SB made a fatal error by threatening to hand Mordin to the krogan. That’s two crew members he’s trying to hurt now.

Shep played the running-and-getting-chased game again, since the SB didn’t care to target Liara for long. Hey, it worked for Hawke against the Arishok, it can work for Shepard. Liara burst into tears afterwards. Shep didn’t understand why, and didn’t want anyone else thinking he’s romantically interested, so he waited until she’d finished. :pinched: Liara announced that she was the new SB, so he’s made a mental note to stay on her good side and invited her back to the ship.

He stopped by a terminal first to get the dirt on all his crew members. This stuff is on a need-to-know basis... and he needs to know. Hmm... so Miranda would like kids? Jack and Kasumi write poetry? Jacob is just as boring in private... though he likes Blasto, that’s a plus. Uh... liked. Grunt’s e-learning. Mordin has a thing for the word ‘cloaca’. The robots are befriending each other. And Tali’s installed... well looks like that’s enough reading for one day. :P I just got this sudden image:
Tali: Going on a year now, I haven’t had nothing twixt my nethers weren’t run on batteries.
Shepard: Agh God, I can’t know that!

If the codex is correct and 1.86 million people die every day back on earth, that means 77500 people died while Shepard was showing off her moves.

Tela Vasir's paragon dialogue for me was probably the most renegade for paragon in ME2. Its not gloating, just "I've sacrificed a lot of people and you think one hostage would stop me" crazy-eyed psycho. I like that ME2's Paragon aren't that goody two shoes. This rank right next to punching Zaeed. The renegade line kinda suck. Something about Asari being dumb or something. After that, I never really like both neutral and renegade dialogue which both end with "I work for cerberus. it didn't matter". It was really off with Sole Survivor Shepard. Kinda like Miranda's conversation where you can't argue with her about Cerberus's very questionable way of working things and then the conversation suddenly shift to why Miranda was loyal. The only time I could satisfyingly argue about anything Cerberus was with TIM. The guy totally hates me.

Personally, I think the renegade is somewhat superior in that it shows Shepard signaling Liara how they should handle the situation. When Shepard says "you Asari should stick to what you do best," that is a clear signal to Liara to use her biotics.

The paragon line sounds better, but it doesn't have anything in it to indicate Shepard and Liara are working as a team.

Both of them work as a team regardless of the dialogue choice. With the paragon line, Shepard simply distract Vasir through intimidation and trusting Liara do her thing. The renegade line simply insults the entire race as brainless sluts. Its really offensive especially to Liara even if its targeted at Vasir. Even I would be distracted by that and hit Shepard with the table instead.

So... Revvie received a message from Hackett about an apartment. Anderson called and bequeathed that said apartment to Revvie. Wait. If the council have this much money for an ex-councilor to afford this posh apartment, then why didn't they pay their Spectres. This is an outrage! Joker asked Revvie out for a sushi dinner and apparently french space sushi is a thing in Citadel. Another abomination, so they drink alcohol instead. Then a very perky lady in Alliance uniform who came by their table and conveniently said its a trap and seconds later, a group of mercenaries drop by for an impromptu entertainment. Figures. Fortunately, Revvie is a lethal weapon with a pistol (what the heck, she survive 2183 against mutated Saren corpse with a Spectre pistol. no biggie) and along with her trusty combat omni-tool, she wrecked these grenade-drone-loving wannabees but the restaurant is a giant aquarium....

Spoiler
Fortunately, Revvie is a lucky girl with a cyborg body so she escaped relatively unharmed. With renewed vigor, she slaughtered the mercs with ease before a Spectre in shining blue armor came to rescue her. But Revvie did the saving all by herself and he simply struts like he owns the place. Then he became distracted by Revvie's lovely assets.
Spoiler
Her fingers ached to pinch his smirking cheeks and she should because the boy wonder forgot to duck...
Spoiler
Thankfully, a Krogan dropped from the sky and bulldoze through these wannabees.
Spoiler
Then mercs began to fall off from the rooftop in droves and Wrex have too much fun headbutting everyone while Revvie destroy the skycar shop with her geth machine gun. That poor Volus must be traumatized, Kaidan said.
News spread quickly that Revvie acquired a posh apartment. While Liara and Brooks figure out who attack Revvie. Garrus already plan out the defense grid. Tali amped up the security system. Javik saw the jacuzzi in the main room. Wrex and James began to bond as they look for a delivery menu. Joker still pissed about being made a bait and ranted to EDI. And Kaidan kept staring into the fireplace and he began to obsess about roasted marshmallows. Finally. Liara traced the gun to a weapon dealer who owned a casino. Naturally, the famous human Spectre couple in the galaxy made a smashing debut to the polite society.
Spoiler
However, they found their host dead and Revvie found herself saddled with a mysterious nemesis. Glyph detected someone was using Revvie's Spectre code and much to everyone's delight, all of them get to play with their guns and shoot things. Revvie's lovely bunch of trigger-happy maniacs. Everybody loves her and it warms her heart.
Spoiler
Of course, Revvie's mysterious nemesis turns out to be herself.
Spoiler
And they have some grand time kicking each other's asses.
Spoiler
But Revvie have a change of heart and wanted to save the OtherRevvie instead.
Spoiler
The OtherRevvie fell and it made Revvie so sad. Kaidan don't like to see Revvie sad and he know how to make Revvie feels better.

Spoiler
Clever boy. Let's have dinner.

So I'm going to skip ahead to the end of what I did today.  I've been playing Zapp as a failshep and it's been all fun and games but I just finished the suicide mission and there is something soul-crushing about having to methodically go through all aspects of a game in order to kill off as many of some of your favorite fictional characters as possible.

Needless to say it was a bloodbath.  I knew starting Zapp that I wanted Thane and Morinth to be the sole survivors.  Morinth because she is more or less non-existent in ME3 and Thane because he can simply be never be talked to.  And the massacre didn't even go off according to plan.  I had the whole thing charted out, which squadmates I would take on which part, who would be what specialist, and where everyone was supposed to die.  This promptly went to hell when I forgot that not getting the Thanix canon would ignore who went with you to the oculus and Thane was killed right off the bat forcing a reload.

Now I had to re-adjust my plans and go back and do Garrus' loyalty mission.  Further on, things got messed up when I was choosing who to make the biotic bubble, and I messed up leaving only Morinth and Thane to be my squadmates with Jacob as the biotic.  This prompted me to re-load again because I didn't want either of them to die.

So I finally get to the end, and I've seen the galaxy's number one bro Garrus incinerated by the engines, Tali, my canon LI, take a rocket to the face, and even Jacob had heart wrenching last words as the failed squad leader.  So to add a final kick to the quads, the last decision I make is to leave Miranda alone to hold the line, dooming her to face the entire collector swarm alone.  And it is all the worse because she has some great dialogue before and during the SM that really makes you want to see her make it through.

But their sacrifice will not be in vain, as Zapp is one step closer to being the failiest Shep in the history of failsheps.  I'm also looking forward to seeing how the game changes with so many characters now gone.  So now it's off to ME3, where I will have to kill off entire species...... and probably a few more squadmates.

I boarded the Purgatory prison with Miranda and Mordin to get Jack out. It seems common on this ship to beat up prisoners, and maybe they deserve it, but anyway, it's none of my business.

We were attacked not soon after, because apparently I'm valuable and worth a lot of money. I'm p*ssed and we fought our way through, getting Jack out of cryo. Once out, she's really going at it and showed off some powerful biotics. I'm impressed, but she's at such strength I hope she can control herself later on.
We followed Jack's path of destruction and fought Blue Suns, mechs and in the end the mastermind behind this great plan, Warden Kuril.
We caught up with Jack and she's angry at us being with Cerberus. I assured her I am not really with them, and I agreed to let her take a look at the files Cerberus has on her if she comes with us. Miranda objected of course, but screw that, I want Jack's power for the mission.
Back on the Normandy I checked how Jack was settling in. Looks like she went through hell. Been there, believe me. I wonder if she's keeping appearances up, just like I am. And I'm once again learning things about Cerberus that make me want to cut any connection right away. Researching kids... damn bastards.

I like this girl, she might be seen as crazy, but there's something about her I can relate to.
On a more positive side, I got an e-mail from Talitha today, she seems to be doing okay. I'm glad for her and hope she can forget her past and lead a normal life. She deserves it.
After that I checked out the wreckage of the MSV Estevanico and then went to look for a lost Cerberus Operative. Turned out he was dead, but I found some data that according to EDI could do some serious damage to Cerberus. I sent that to the Alliance right away. I received a thanks for it, hope they can put it to use, someone has to stop them (guess what, Hannah, it will be YOU! :P).
As I scrolled through my received e-mails I noticed the one about the Normandy crash site. I sighed and we set course. The atmosphere was eerie, strange. Seeing the Normandy torn to pieces... I remember the people that were lost. I remember Ashley, and there's that pang of guilt again.
I found XO Pressly's data pad. Funny how he started out exactly like I did, not fond of the aliens on board. But his last entry showed he overcame his doubts. I smile when I think about the old crew. In retrospect I really enjoyed serving with them. Except for Wrex, everyone turned out to be a great asset and I could trust them.
I wonder what Liara is doing. I broke away from my thoughts and placed the Normandy monument in front of the CIC, I think it's fitting. The place where I always picked the next destination, the unknown. I found my old helmet as well. Gonna keep this. I collected the dog tags to be returned to the Alliance and Hackett sent me a message thanking me. At least they are still grateful whenever I send something. Maybe they didn't write me off completely, but I certainly wish there was more communication and assurance from their side.
Next up was helping Zaeed finish the mission he started before being paid by Cerberus to join our mission. If it helps him focusing on the mission, I need to do this, can't afford if someone's distracted, like I was during Virmire. Something like that should never happen again.

Zaeed, Garrus and I landed on Zorya with the goal to liberate a refinery from the Blue Suns. I learned that Zaeed was one of the founders of the merc band and that he holds a big grudge against his former partner Vido Santiago. (Bwahaha, had to re-load this conversation because picking the "20 years?" option had Hannah say the most precious sentence ever: "20 years is a long time to hold a grudge." I laughed. Hannah, that's so you with the batarians )

We met this Vido, and Zaeed recklessly shot some pipe and everything exploded. I get that you want revenge, but do NOT risk our lifes for it. His drive to get to Vido is fueled by rage, and he'd rather let the workers in the refinery die to follow him. I've done some things in the past I am not proud of, following things through with blind rage, but civilian casualties are a bit different, and here is something we can actually do about it. I told Zaeed we do what we originally came to do, liberate the refinery. He gave in and we got the workers out.

We still had time to go after Vido, but in the end we were too late and he got away in a gunship. Zaeed shot at it, then dropped the heat sink of his rifle and caused another explosion. He was buried under some rubble and I asked if he was alright. I wonder if Zaeed should be on the ship, but he figured I must really need him if Cerberus pays for him. Well, he's right.

Deaths today:
During Jack's mission 1 time in the first room (cornered by Fenris mech), one time during the 2nd YMIR encounter, 1 time with Kuril (ran right into arriving enemies on the right side  the left side is the way to go here ^_^)

Twice during the Lost Operative mission.
Zaeed's loyalty mission, 4 times in the last room with the YMIR, and ONLY thanks to the YMIR... Garrus and Zaeed kept dying :D

Matter of factly: 20 years is a long time to hold a grudge, but no one said it was not justified.

I love the Batarians.

I know they're supposed to be taken seriously (I think?), but they crack me up.

----

Anyways, starting a fresh playthrough on PS3. I forgot how much a difference all of those little trophy/achievement bonuses make. It's kind of slow going for now. Just finished Feros.

Also, the experience.. I wonder if I can even reach lvl 50 at this rate. I remember my first playthrough on Xbox, I was only lvl 38.
