Also, the experience.. I wonder if I can even reach lvl 50 at this rate. I remember my first playthrough on Xbox, I was only lvl 38.

The highest level I reached by completing everything I could, was level 54. The lowest level I've finished at was level 31.

Well, I mean... completely fresh, never played on this platform before. So I get no Exp bonus, etc.. And no ability to go past 50 at first.

I think 54 or something might be my highest too, on xbox.

I think I got to Level 50 or even above with my first Shepard, that was including Bring Down the Sky. Are you going for Platinum? :D

Still need to get the Level 60 and Sniper achievements.

Is platinum something on PSN? I haven't turned on my PS3 in a LONG time...forgot the terms. :P

This happens to be a launch version of the PS3 too.. Still works pretty good. Wish the hard drive was bigger though. I can't install the full trilogy at once.

It's the trophy you get for getting all other trophies in a game  For some this is extremely important. I only do it for games I really like/love (my way to show appreciation, otherwise I wouldn't bother getting all those trophies, haha).

Hard drive is a problem. I had to delete some installed games to make space for ME1 -_-

I'd be better off trying to get a similar thing on the 360. Only have a handful of achievements to unlock there. I've only done this for ME2.

I just got it yesterday for PS3, since it was $5 bucks. Thought it be fun to start from scratch. Oh, and to have that Terminus armor for a change.

Oooh, I have that for Wii (still haven't played it though).

And damn, I bought the Trilogy just now again, too (great I still had money in my US account ). Who knows, I might need it someday (when my discs decide not to run anymore :D)!

Also bought first season of The Walking Dead.

Have you played Walking Dead yet?

Because you're gonna be hooked if you haven't.

No, but I heard a lot of good things about it already, so for 5$, it was mine :)

Let's see though when I actually will play it. Games are piling up thanks to my ME obsession

As far as choice/narrative stuff goes, it's better than anything Bioware has done in a long time.

Have fun :D

Anyways, starting a fresh playthrough on PS3. I forgot how much a difference all of those little trophy/achievement bonuses make. It's kind of slow going for now. Just finished Feros.

I got myself a PS3 last year and the trilogy with it. Started an ME1 playthrough but didn't really get past Eden Prime. No MEUTIM, the loading times are just unbearable and the decryption game is bugged as hell.

Playing with a controller is kinda fun in an awkward way (first time I ever used one of these things for longer than 5 minutes) but  that kinda fresh feeling is not worth all the downsides IMO. Went back to PC. Maybe I'll give ME2/3 a chance at some point, I think they work better but even there, now that we have controller support on PC, I think I'll rather go for that.

Even I'm having trouble getting use to the controller... but not for the same reasons. It's because the 360 controller is one of the best.

The loading/saving times do suck though, even compared to the 360.

Today, Dahlia Shepard (Flare Infiltrator) teamed up with Aria T'Loak to take Omega back. Dahlia irritated Aria with her goody-two-shoes act, but she did influence her enough to care a bit more about the people of Omega. Aria went easy on Petrovsky and did not kill him, only handing him to the Alliance, for which Dahlia was grateful.

As for the Reactor, well, Dahlia used to be an Engineer, but her new Omni Tool lacked the some of the better hacking and bypass programs she used to have, so she had a hard time re-routing the power away from the force fields. She did eventually re-route it, but Nyreen was injured in the process, and Aria was greatly annoyed; it most certainly did not help their partnership but Aria at least stayed professional about it.

Then Dahlia went to the Citadel to give some Turian poison schematics to a Salarian doctor, and then met with Miranda on the Presidium. Dahlia gave Miranda some advice about not dwelling on the past, something Dahlia does constantly. Dahlia is a bit of a hypocrite when it comes to advice, but no one seems to notice.

Today Aeryn Shepard recieved a new outfit and she loves it. (Took me some time to figure out ME Explorer, but it was totally worth it. Best outfit ever!)

And now she's going to cure the genophage. After that, she'll team up once again with her BFF Ashley. After all this, there's a pretty big chance she'll invite Specialist Traynor to take a shower together, I mean, to play some chess, of course.

Today I helped Kasumi breaking into Donovan Hock's vault to get back Keiji's graybox. For this occasion I had to dress up, flirt a bit with Hock to get a voice sample, search his rooms for DNA and deactivate the vault barrier. Once inside I put on my armor and we picked up our weapons. Showtime. Inside the vault both Kasumi and I are amazed what Hock has collected, even the head of the Statue of Liberty! Kasumi had some interesting information on various artifacts before we found the graybox we're looking for. Unfortunately Hock had anticipated something like this and sent Eclipse mercs in. We dealt with them and proceeded to find a way out. When we finally did we were confronted by Hock and his gunship. After stripping its shields and a crazy stunt by Kasumi, we took it down and took a shuttle back to the Normandy. Kasumi struggled with her feelings and I offered to destroy the graybox for her, to fulfill Keiji's wish.

The next step was looking for a krogan warlord named Okeer, who allegedly has ties to the Collectors. Let's see what we can find out.

Miranda, Mordin and I fought through a lot of Blue Suns mercs on Korlus until we eventually met Okeer. We learned that he dedicated his research to create the perfect krogan. He even has one in a tank next to him. The imperfect krogan go directly to Blue Suns Commander Jedore to build an army, how reassuring. Jedore however has other plans and starts going against Okeer and his perfect krogan. If he is to help me I have to take care of Jedore, so we did as we were asked, but Okeer was lost in the process. Now we stood there with a krogan in a tank. I'm not sure yet what to do with him, so I arranged for a delivery to the Normandy.

Miranda had concerns about releasing the krogan, so do I, but I at least went and checked out the tank once more. EDI helped me a great deal with analysing the situation and I came to the conclusion it's way too dangerous to release the krogan. Who knows how he's going to react? I've had enough of krogan temper with Wrex already.

Upon returning to the CIC, Kelly Chambers informed me the Illusive Man wanted to talk with me.

He told me that a human colony on Horizon went silent, could it be the Collectors? He dropped a huge bit of news on me by revealing that Kaidan is there. I kept up my professional appearance, but my heart starts beating fast at the possibility of seeing him again. I hope he is okay and nothing happened to him at the colony.

I confirmed with Mordin that his countermeasure for the seeker swarms was ready and we headed for Horizon with Miranda.

Everything is abandoned and the atmosphere is burdensome. Not soon in we encountered the first Collector creatures, abominations with four big eyes, they look horrendous.

We proceeded until we found a garage, where we met mechanic Delan. He told us what happened and we had a chat about Kaidan appearing at the colony, and Delan made pretty clear he is not fond of the Alliance's interference. It seems Kaidan was sent here to help put up a defense tower, but Delan suspects there's more to it than this. I guess so.

With our next destination in mind and after a short break to prepare ourselves, we are headed for the defense tower at the starport (I am so not looking forward to this part tomorrow :D).

Deaths today:

2 during Kasumi's loyalty mission, by the same Vanguard

Took 1 from Harby, too.

Surprisingly I got through the Okeer mission without dying, and I had an amazing time during the Jedore fight  I stayed back by the door (the inner side where the staircase is) and the krogan came and walked right into our combined firepower trap, bwahaha. The YMIR also didn't stand a chance from where we were standing, even though it got Miranda in the process. After finishing off the minions I took care of Jedore with Mordin and that was over rather quick.

Not sure if this can count as on-topic or not, but here it goes...

I've decided today to get back into the Mass Effect universe again and that by the end of summer, I will get that platinum trophy in Mass Effect 1 and hopefully a completed gamerscore on the Xbox 360 version. I've done both for 2 and 3 already.

I hate to admit it, but I needed help with Insanity in Mass Effect 2 from a friend but I really hope I can do Insanity and Hardcore in ME1 myself. The only Trophies I lack are Distinguished Combat Medal, Medal of Valor, and Extreme Power Gamer. The only Achievements I lack are the same three from the PS3 version as well as Barrier Mastery, Stasis Mastery, Soldier Ally, Turian Ally, Quarian Ally, and Asari Ally.

How much harder is Mass Effect 1's platinum/perfect gamerscore compared to the others? I'm assuming the best option for the difficulty and level 60 trophies/achievements is to do a new game plus, but I don't know what would be the easiest class for it

I find the Infiltrator to be easiest in ME1. It has Immunity and Electronics for protection and can wear medium armor. Sniper rifles are like cannons, especially Spectre version at the higher levels when you can shoot it non-stop without bothering with overheating. You can also take AI Hacking as a bonus power, it makes geth sections very easy. Bonus: they have access to Decryption as well and thus can open locked crates and doors of any kind without squadmate aid.

I like taking the explosive ammo with the Spectre sniper rifle. Sure it overheats every shot, but it hits like the mako cannon.

Personally, I think ME1 is harder, because the cover gameplay is so damn clunky. And particularly dangerous with those Rocket Turrets that swoop in behind cover.

But maybe others will disagree.

I did my hard core run with a level 1 Adept and ground out a lot of side stuff before hitting any fights. So, for instance, grind away on keeper scanning on the Citadel. Some more grinding with the Sha'ira stuff. All the grinding I could find before facing Chora's Den. Then, after getting the Normandy it was more grinding, including Salarian medals, Turian insignia, mineral survey's, matriarch writiings, non-biotic side missions (fighting biotics is for the birds), etc. all to get my level up before tackling the first main quest mission on Therum. Once Liara and Kaidan were in hand I had three biotics on the team. Basically, every enemy was constantly floating. I don't think I died once.

Now I am taking that same Adept through insanity with a NG+. Apparently if you change the difficulty to insanity after the opening cutscene you can still get the achievement. So far no real problems. I have done Therum and have gotten to Exo-Geni HQ on Feros.

Basically, biotics trumps everything. Kaidan comes everywhere, and all the enemies spend almost all their time in the air. Singularity in ME1 is awesome since it actually clumps the enemies together instead of just tossing them every which-way.

I watched Thessia burn and finished the Citadel DLC, time to take out Cerberus.

Already getting some beer to prepare for the ending, that usually helps quite a bit.
