Dahlia Shepard (Flare Infiltrator) accompanied Maya Brooks and James Vega to a casino, in an effort to have a little fireside chat with the owner, Elijah Khan. Dahlia does not gamble, except with her own life. (She only lost once, but Cerberus paid the bill. How nice of them.) Apparently Khan gambled his life too, but lost. Then Dahlia had a chat with someone who really hates her but won't explain why. Then it was back to apartment to plan the next move.

 

 

I then put the playthrough on hold while I decide whether to write up a little fiction about the next mission (meeting the clone) or the clone fight. I have some ideas in mind, but nothing I think worthy enough to follow through on.

 

 

In the meantime, I picked up Jen Shepard (Biotic Soldier). I was at the end of Mars, so I quickly finished the mission (way to suck, Kaidan; let me show you how to kill the robot). Then Citadel, nightmare sequence, talk to the crew, and scan the galaxy. I just finished picking up Javik, even though he is not available for Menae. He will be my go-to squadmate this playthrough since I currently am using Lash and want to use his Slam for some double detonations.

Today Revka went back to Citadel and gave everyone a proper shore leave. But first Steve took her for a fun ride around the wards. Naturally.

Then she encouraged her other pilot to extort free alcohol from the bar by collaborating with his HG Wells fantasy in which indoctrinated enemy forces stood at awe at the sight of one Flight Lieutenant Moreau.

Wait, didn't we argue about stress and mental state and familial death etcs? And we're not talking to each other? Bah...

Kolyat called and he wanted to do a memorial for his dad and Rev invited her mates to come and its a bit housewarming gathering too. Grunt, Miranda, Jacob and Jack got held up but everyone else came.

And then suddenly, EDI pop the question...

"Very funny EDI. I don't think Joker want you buying expensive jewelries with his money for me. That must cost more than Traynor's toothbrush."

"I never say that this came from Jeff."

"Ooookay?"

Jack drop by and Revvie get to play with the varren with Anderson's skillet.

Then, Liara came and tried to play the piano.

Revvie recognized the song and played the whole thing to make Liara feel better and Glyph recorded it. Of course, she know how to play. Why do you think she recommend EDI to play music for Joker? 

While Liara went to work at the office, Tali came by she want to watch some steamy romance and stuff.

"Shhh..."

"Yep. Ooo, Liara! Sex scene!"

Liara came over with popcorns and the girls began to discuss extensively about how tasteful fictional sex scenes could work and what doesn't and they get into a healthy argument about techniques and nerve stim pro apps.

James pop up and wanted show off his tats.

But he found Anderson's home gym and dared Revvie to break his record because there's no way a skinny girl could win this.

There were a lot of grunting and Kaidan drop by to investigate.

Kaidan : "Dude, she's a cyborg now. Cerberus specs her body like EDI's."

James : "She's cheating? Figures."

Rev : "184... 185... 186...."

Of course, darling gave her the celebratory beer and cook her more dinner.

"You'll never find out. Hey, what happened to this iron skillet? Is this chew marks?"

Naturally, darling taught her that beer is the solution to everything. So she passed the knowledge down to Garrus.

So, there I was, just gotten the SMG Banner (because of course I'm that masochistic) with a ...Locust X on Reapers/Giant/Gold, and there was a general knockout on the end of Wave 10, just after completing the assignment. I was like "Are you SERIOUS? Do I have to clutch 2 Banshees, 2 Brutes, 2 Ravagers and a Marauder without missiles and just with this crappy peashooter?".

I had enough trouble with no enemy bonuses. If you managed to do it with all enemy bonuses activated... then my hat goes off to you.

Aren't those in the area that Jack wrecks when escaping? 

Yes, at least I hope so. Since you basically arrive on the upper walkway, and then make your way back through the lower area you can see beneath when you follow Warden Kuril. There are a lot of those pillars there, but maybe Shepard's epic hacking skills and the power failure made them not work, except for the final 3 that are protecting Kuril himself.

Then you head back to your office and drink a case of beer all day doing a whole lot of nothing. At 2300, you go to bed and the next day starts like all the previous days

First Jenkins was killed, and later you revealed my visions to the council. To aliens. At that moment not only did you make yourself look like an idiot, you made humanity look like idiots. You make no effort to find a way to stop the reapers and then say its up to me to stop them while I was after the collectors.

girl: My name is Samantha Traynor. I was asked to help with the retrofits of the Normandy. Here is my dossier ma'am.

me: ...mmmm...What is this top secret double hush-hush project you were working on?

Traynor:  Is it safe to talk here in your cabin?

me: One moment....Edi? Shut off all audio and video to my cabin.

me: As you were saying Traynor.

Traynor: Yes ma'am. The project was/is called the fade touched project. What that means is I'm able to take properties of different materials and use them to enchance a persons or a weapons performance during battle.

me: How long have you been doing this and were there others working on it as well?

Traynor:  A few months before Eden Prime was attacked, I was on a mission to recover some information the Salarians had taken from a unit. I eventually recovered the information and one of them had some blueprints of using materials to enhance performance. I'm currently the only one that was working on the project

me: Skip to the main point Traynor.

Traynor: Yes ma'am. I used that information and found out it works. I've done numerous tests came to the conclusion that it would make a very large difference for the person having that item vs someone without

me: Ok Traynor. Lets see a few examples.

Traynor: Of course. This is fade touched Titanium. What this does is when your shield is taking fire, it hardens the shield making it 50% stronger. It also has a second use if put on your weapon. It gives a 10% chance to acitvate overload for 100% damage

This one is fade touched eezo. this increases the strength of barriers for those that use biotics and when used on a weapon will increase that individuals biotic power by 50% for 15 seconds

me: Ok. That's enough. And you've given me an idea. Have you ever fought in combat?

Traynor: No ma'am I haven't. All the tests were done at the research facility I was at.

me: I want you as a squadmate who will be with me for all missions we do. You can use one of my sets of armor since we're about the same size. One question? Where did you get you're training?

Traynor: Best Buy trained me. I'm part of the geek squad. My ranking is G7. I'm the best of the best

me: Good to know Samantha. Lets talk later. I have a few things to deal with

Okay, I did it again, this is the second win with 60+. Its pretty straightforward once you know what you're doing. Internet isn't helpful with the tips. I'm probably gonna do again with just one sniper rifle (I have a backup gun since I carry Widow but the thermal clip upgrade kinda save the day)... although I don't think you can survive this if you go solo.

Yep. I always hated that, otherwise the outfit looks really nice, except the Cerberus logo   I don't even know why they would put a bullseye there.

To me it always reminds me of those ports they have on the body to hookup to the matrix. Just gotta find the induction port

Finished ME2 again. Got my customary "Jack giving me the nod" with Legion ending. No matter what I do, no matter who survives, she's always there. 

 

Seems like I got more Harbinger trashtalk on this PS3 version.

 

 

Also, who the hell is Fred Mazai? Always shows up in the Shadow Broker vids..

Thane's loyalty: Not sure, but I always figured it's this guy. They have very similar appearance, but the damn subtitles doesn't give his name. The lawyer is also the only one in the game I can remember being called Freddy.

Renegade  John Shepard on insanity...

 

After the Kai Leng defeat, Shepard ventured to Eden Prime to find a Prothean artefact. He brought along Garrus and Liara for nostalgia purposes (bring the original Mass Effect crew to where it all began even though technically Liara/Garrus weren't there). The team found the pod and realised a living Prothean was inside. Shepard would've just taken a chance and cracked it open like a safe but decided to do a run-around looking for consoles. He had the opportunity to assist the Eden Prime resistance but chose not to because the artefact is the main priority. Eden Prime has been a source of bad luck from the beginning since the Saren attack so Shepard left the colony to Cerberus and marked it off as a lost cause .

Shepard deciphered some consoles and the visions told Shepard that Prothean VI's like to shut off stasis pods . He released the Prothean and went back to the Normandy. Had a conversation with Javik and he sensed Shepard's desperation coming off the recent loss with Kai Leng. Shepard asked him about the catalyst and Javik knows nothing about the Crucible at all. Shepard is thinking that he should've just left the Prothean in the pod like he did with the tank Krogan. So the only lead now is to follow Kai Leng to Sanctuary.

 

Went to Sanctuary with James and Javik and fought through more Cerberus troops. Shepard overheard the name Oriana and immediately said "that's Miranda's sister!". So I guess Shepard assumes that there is one person in the entire galaxy called Oriana . Sanctuary was a front for refugee experimentation/Reaper research and Shepard would probably have done a Pragia by blowing the facility sky high (if given the option). Found Miranda who was having a family reunion which ended with her father being biotically thrown through a window. This was Miranda's last stand though as she was in a weakened state. The sad music played and Miranda said goodbye to her sister and told Shepard she planted a tracer on Kai Leng. Shepard showed a rare sign of emotion as he told her "I've never met anyone like you" and regrets ending their relationship on the Citadel. Miranda died  but she died with closure as her sister is safe from her father.

 

Finally, Shepard travelled to the Citadel to chase another lead with Dr Bryson.

Since my computer decided it hates DAI all of a sudden, I picked up my ME3 game that I haven't played since October.

Raven Shepard, Engineer
Sort of romanced Kaidan in ME1, romanced Jacob  in ME2 but he died at the Collector Base. I forgot, until looking at the memorial wall on the Normandy, that Tali had also died there since Raven turned over the evidence of her father's experiments at the trial. That was intentional though....I wanted to see how the geth/quarian missions play out in ME3 without Tali there.

Rescued the primarch and picked up Garrus from Palaven.

Raided a Cerberus lab for reaper tech. Visited Kaidan in the hospital and gave him a bottle of whiskey.

 

Wow, movement feels really stiff after playing DAI for so long, and the faces look more plastic than I remember. I also heard a few lines of dialogue that I don't recall hearing before, which is bizarre since I played ME3 way more times than I can remember. Still, felt good to be back.
