Oh wow, that was 10 soul-crushing minutes. Imagine a playthrough with all of them dead... 

I think the Legion one is a little funny though. Obviously they can't do 'breathy whisper' with a robot, so they just sort of slow the voice down. Makes Legion sound drunk!

 

I do the same thing now with my main Infiltrator who romanced Jacob in ME2. Meet up with Jacob on Gellix, get shot down by Jacob. Go back to the Normandy and invite Traynor up for some fun, then take up Traynor's invite into the shower. I always take it as the ultimate "screw you" to Jacob.

Same here! I imagine it must be fairly frequent - how many Sheps are going to stay celibate for that guy?    My rebound-Shep went from Kaidan to Jacob until she finally settled with Sam. Guys are always ditching her, it's clearly not meant to be. 

 

I also have one Shep that romanced Liara, then Thane, only to go back to Liara eventually. I just picture Liara smugly there like "ah, and now she comes crawling back." I felt rather bad about that though, especially with his videos in the Citadel dlc. Shep could've stayed in mourning a little longer!

My medic-oriented Talon Volusguard did some lovely rounds today (he loves fighting Cerberus). In addition of obtaining the 10 Revives medal (almost 15!), he ended up 2nd with 100k+ (Giant/Gold). Did I already mentioned that the Talon is the Alpha Male of all pistols?

 

Hopefully it'll inspire some more people to use more Volus, and more correctly. They're an amazing class, if used properly.

I did that once. Liara got all guilt-trippy after Shepard jumped all over Thane in the hospital. But then she was back to sitting on Shepard's lap and kissing her after the next mission. Liara, you're weird.

No. The rachni mission can be done anytime before Chronos

Tali has unique dialogue with Garrus about the Rachni if you save the mission for after Rannoch. (She also is rather sarcastic about her mismatched skill set if you take her on the mission: "I'm sure there'll be a lot of need for hacking down in these caves." She also screams about spiders.)

Raven Shepard cured the genophage and saved the Council from evil Cerberus clowns. Shot Udina so Kaidan didn't have to, then invited the latter back on to the Normandy. After running around talking to countless people on the Citadel, she and crew headed back to Tuchanka to save a turian platoon and then defuse a giant Cerberus-controlled but turian-planted bomb. Primarch Victus was grateful, even though his son died as a result.

 

Next up: combing the galaxy for goodies before heading back to the Citadel for a dinner date with Kaidan.

The adventure of Dahlia Shepard (Flare Infiltrator) continued.

 

 

Written account of the events that took place (very long story):

Dahlia Shepard tugged on her gauntlet. It held. Satisfied that her armor was securely attached to her body, she activated her shields, and the familiar hum of the kinetic barriers filled her ears. It was nearly time.

She glanced down at the weapon laid out in front of her on the work bench, and she ran her hands outward along its black frame. The Black Widow was a deadly sniper rifle. While it lacked the raw power of its more familiar cousin, the Widow, it made up in firepower. While the Widow fired a single deadly shot before overheating its thermal clip, the weaker Black Widow could fire three shots before expending its clip.
Dahlia preferred the Black Widow for its shear potential to thin the enemy's numbers quickly in the first few seconds of a fight. Where the Widow could kill one enemy, the Black Widow could kill three. And for stronger, harder targets, the Black widow could deal more damage in one clip than the Widow. This weapon had served her well over the past few weeks. She would need it again shortly.

Dahlia picked up the weapon and checked it over. All clips were loaded and ready. She was ready.

As expected, the door opened. This was it. No more plans, no more regrets. It all came down to this moment. She was ready.

The enemy had not seen her yet. She aimed down the scope, the head of their leader in her sights. Her finger tightened around the trigger.

She lowered the gun. She knew she would not be able to kill the leader quick enough, and her squad was not in position yet. She needed to stall them first. A bold idea crossed her mind. She calmly stepped forward into view.

The leader turned at the sound of her steps, and recognized her. Her genetic twin.

"Well, that's creepy."

Dahlia fired at her doppleganger, deliberately missing. Her enemy fired back, the bullets missing by inches as they both took cover to avoid the gunfire.

"You want to stop shooting up my ship?" Dahlia asked angrily.

"It's not your ship."

"It will be!" Dahlia retorted. "I've taken your name, your Spectre rank, even your fingerprints!"

"And then you left me to die," the other Dahlia shot back. "Only I didn't. You think fake fingerprints are going to fool the Council? Or Hackett?"

Hatred began to rise within Dahlia. Ever since she was rescued by the person currently calling herself Maya Brooks -- she changed her name every few days -- Dahlia had grown to hate the other person people called Dahlia Shepard. They called her a hero, but she knew the truth: Commander Dahlia Shepard was a fraud, a web of doubts and insecurities wrapped in a shell of supposed unwavering valor. It sickened her.

Commander Shepard soke again.

"How's that big plan looking now?"

Hatred turned to rage. Dahlia forgot about the weapon she was holding, and charged at the other Dahlia, her Omni Tool turned into a deadly, electrically-charged blade. She would rip the other Dahlia to shreds!

Her footsteps caught the ears of her enemy and she turned. Dahlia tried to bring her Omni Blade down, but it was caught by the other Dahlia's omni Blade. For a moment the two of them pushed hard, each trying to break through the other's strength, but they were evenly matched. Twin bolts of electricity crackled through the air off their Omni Tools and they backed off. They stood apart, ready for another clash.

A voice rang out. "Hatchet Squad to the shuttle bay!"

It was Maya Brooks, finally armed and ready for battle. She came running up to Dahlia and fired off a shot. The Commander Shepard beat a hasty retreat back into cover.

Maya fired again. Dahlia noticed Maya was using the Crusader, a weapon known for its tricky firing mechanism. Their eyes locked. It was time. Maya fiddled with something on her weapon and the two of them ran into battle. Only one Dahlia Shepard would walk out of here alive.

Dahlia aimed through the scope and tried to get a lock on the Commander, but shuddered involuntarily when she was hit with something. Her mind barely registered that it was from the Commander's Asari companion -- Warp most likely -- and then she was staggered hard as a loud sound like thunder filled her ears. The other Dahlia had detonated the biotic field surrounding her. Her optic implants indicated that her shields were gone. Not a good start.

Needing to extracate herself from the situation, Dahlia cloaked and moved away. She needed to regain the advantage. Commander Shepard was a biotic; she was not, or at least not aware if she had latent biotic talents. Regardless, she lacked the implants necessary to harness biotic potential in a controlled manner.

Dahlia fired. Commander Shepard's shields went down, but Dahlia could not make it count as the Commanderrolled out of the way.

Another explosion and Maya Brooks dropped to the floor. Dahlia moved to help. It left her exposed, and Commander Shepard pounced on the opportunity. Luckily, her shot went wild and Dahlia was able to move out of the way as another biotic flare careened around her and exploded. What the Commander lacked in finesse, she made up in raw power.

Dahlia noticed the other Shepard had lost track of her and was focusing on Hatchet Squad. Dahlia cloaked and snuck around the consoles, her Omni Blade ready to strike. Whether through luck, body senses, or pure instinct, the other Shepard turned and met her blade for blade. A fist stunned Dahlia. Reflexively, she activated her emergency shields, just as she was enveloped in another massive explosion.

Dahlia cloaked and retreated. She needed to regroup quickly. She hunkered down by a toolbox, but the other Shepard noticed her and closed in. She was hit with another biotic flare, but her armor held fast. As the other Shepard closed in, Dahlia cloaked and dodged, barely avoiding another attack.

But Commander Shepard was relentess, hitting her with another attack. Dahlia was forced to activate her emergency shields again. Her emergency shields also used medi-gel. She now had three left.

Another biotic attack quickly left her without shields again. If she kept the fight in close quarters, she would not survive. Dahlia hastened to put distance between her and Shepard. Distance favored the Black Widow over the other Shepard's pistol, and more distance would give her more time to dodge any biotic attack.

Unfortunately, Dahlia was in a bad position to move away. Commander Shepard moved in, probably sensing an easy mark. Dahlia threw an Incendiary grenade. Incendiary grenades could ignite an area in a sea of fire. Dahlia Shepard hoped Commander Shepard would not notice.

Commander Shepard noticed, but luckily for Dahlia, it forced Shepard to ignore her and keep moving. Fortune smiled on Dahlia as a member of Hatchet Squad, a sniper, locked onto Dahlia and fired three shots. The Commander was forced to take cover to recover her shields. Dahlia also noticed that one of Dahlia's companions, the Asari, had been taken down. Momentum had now swung her her favor.

"I am Commander Shepard!" she shouted. She quickly turned her focus to the Commander's other companion, the Prothean. She needed everyone focused on Shepard, and fast.

"Are you kidding me?" commander Shepard replied. "Conrad Verner is better at being me than you are!"

Who the hell is Conrad Verner? Dahlia was quickly getting frustrated as the Prothean refused to go down. She continued her attack. The Prothean turned to ignore her, his attention now focused on another Hatchet Squad member that was beginning to fire down on him with a Revenant, a potentially deadly -- and very expensive -- light machine gun.

Dahlia fired, and the Prothean dropped to the floor, but Dahlia was now getting shot in the back by the Asari who was back up and fighting. She had taken too long. Dahlia took cover by the consoles. A quick glance told her that the Commander had not seen her yet. And then...

Commander Shepard ran through still-burning flames and dropped down on one knee next to the Prothean. Seizing the opportunity, Dahlia moved to strike Commander Shepard with her Omni Blade. But the Commander was in good position to see her coming and countered. Another fist across her face and Dahlia staggered, but she kept her wits about her and somehow managed to avoid Shepard's retaliation.

Commander Shepard was getting boxed in. Dahlia dropped back to avoid taking friendly fire.

"My team is just as good as yours!" she yelled at Commander Shepard.

But Commander Shepard was too experienced, and she dodged and weaved to take minimal fire, before cloaking and reviving the ancient alien.

"A team? You have minions! And you're running out!"

Dahlia failed to notice the Asari attacking her until she felt the unmistakeable grip of a biotic field around her. She could do nothing but brace for the force of the biotic flare that detonated the field around her. Pain shot through her entire body. She activated her emergency shields again and the medi-gel quickly soothed her wounds. But she was now down to two activations left.

Dahlia stumbled as the Normandy lurched sharply. She took cover next to some missiles. They would mean instant death to everyone on board the Normandy if they exploded, but they were well protected against small arms fire.

"What the hell's going on up there?" she asked the pilot. "Get us out of the nebula and jump to FTL!"

"We can't," he replied. "A skycar keeps blocking our path!"

Idiot.

"Then shoot it!"

Sounds of heavy artillery soon reached her ears as the Normandy fired on the skycar. The sounds stopped shortly after.

"Dammit!" she heard the pilot cursed. "The heat diffusion system just overloaded. We can't fire anymore!"

"Damn it!" Dahlia cursed. She was surrounded by idiots! "Launch the shuttle and blow that thing out of the sky!"

On her orders, the pilot opened the shuttle bay door. A merc climbed into one of the Kodiak shuttles and flew out. Dahlia took out her rifle again and rejoined the battle.

This time, Dahlia moved carefully. Reckless abandoned had gotten her nowhere, her hatred of Commander Shepard betraying her good sense. Another biotic explosion ripped through her shields again. She was beginning to wonder why she was even bothering with kinetic barriers at this point. A shockwave of heated air and electricity washed over her as another biotic flare flew around her. Anger again coursed through her, along with another emotion: fear.

"I can win this war. All you have are the vain hopes of a tired old woman!"

"This tired old woman is kicking your ass!"

Another biotic field enveloped Dahlia, but this one felt different than Warp. It must have been from the Prothean. Whatever it was, it was burning through her armor. Dahlia ducked out of the way of another biotic Flare. Commander Shepard was predictable.

Pain! Dahlia grunted as the biotic field surrounding her exploded. It must have been the Asari with another Warp. She failed to dodge Commander Shepards next biotic attack. More medi-gel and emergency shields. One left.

Dahlia retreated back to the open cargo bay door. It was a desperate plan, but maybe she could throw Commander Shepard off the Normandy instead of shooting her dead? It was a longshot, but right now it seemed like it was the only shot she had left.

"You're just cybernetics!" Dahlia shouted. "Scarred, worn-out Cerberus tech!"

"You know where I go those scars? Feros and Noveria and Virmire and Ilos!" Another biotic explosion. Maya Brooks fell to the floor in a heap. "At the Collector base and Palaven and Tuchanka! I earned these scars protecting the galaxy!"

Dahlia uncloaked in front of Shepard. Dahlia fired the Black Widow point-blank. Shepard threw another biotic flare. the world seem to explode in blood and fire and heat.

"You got yours from a petri dish!" Shepard said, seemingly unfazed by the close-combat exchange.

Dahlia's ears burned. Commander Shepard's words cut deep. She cloaked and retreated. Fear, anger, pain, regret, and a whole host of other emotions boiled within Dahlia. Everything was falling apart around her.

"You're a figurehead!" she yelled. Weeks and months of hatred against the real Commander Shepard were spilling out of her mouth. "A decent soldier with a lucky streak!"

"Then how come you want to be me so badly?"

Dahlia refused to answer. She was a clone, bred as spare parts for Commander Shepard. She was woken by Maya Brooks, and taught to be Commander Dahlia Shepard. But she was not Commander Shepard, and never would be. She would always be someone else, an imitation, a reflection of the original. So to be somebody, to be the real Commander Shepard, meant she had to become Commander Shepard. And there could only be one Commander Shepard. A bitter irony; what she hated most was what she most desired to become.

Dahlia waited while Commander Shepard continued to mop up what was left of Hatchet Squad. She poked her head over a crate to see where Commander Shepard was.

Another flare. She activated her last emergency shields reserves.

"Pathetic," the Prothean taunted. "You are a poor simulation of the real Commander."

Dahlia stood up and fired. Everyone attacked her back. Her shields disappeared again. She vaulted over some crates. She took more damage. She needed Shepard to get closer to the door.

She was staggered. More bullets. Another warp. Another flare. The beam from the Prothean's gun continued to burn away her armor. Brooks came out of nowhere to help. Commander Shepard dodged, her shields down. Dahlia began to hope that the Commander would bleed to death.

Something struck her shoulder and she lost her weapon. In desperation she activated her Omni Tool and threw out burning plasma. It managed to knock Commander Shepard's gun out of her hand.

Seeing that they were both weaponless, Commander Shepard charged at Dahlia. They tumbled and rolled along the open door.

Dahlia found herself staring up into the face of Commander Shepard. Then she saw her fist before it struck her twice. She managed to to get her feet up and push Shepard off of her. They both rose to their feet.

The Normandy was forced to dodge a building and the two of them fell out the door. They desperately clung to the door.

Dahlia looked over at Shepard.

"Look at you. What makes you so damned special? Why you and not me?"

"Hang on!" The Prothean shouted, as he and the Asari ran to the Commander.

"We've got you!" the Asari said. She reached out to help the Commander up while Javik held on to her as an anchor so neither would fall to their deaths.

Dahlia looked up and spotted Brooks. Brooks looked at her, disappointment in her face. She turned and walked away. Dahlia's anger melted into hopelessness.

Dahlia turned to see Commander Shepard reach her feet and look at her. The Commander reached toward her.

"Here, take my hand."

"And then?"

"And then you live!"

What's the point, she tought.

"For what?"

She let go of the door.

She felt the wind rush through her ears as she hurtled toward the ground. Then, nothing.

You picked the geth over the Quarians. Tali will always fall to her death when choosing the geth. Legion will always die when uploading the code.
