So I finished the game. Watched poor Liara's world burn and got her arse handed to her by that Leng guy. And wow Shepard was pissed. Never felt so miserable and hopeless since Riordan's revelation.
In London the companion goodbyes was so sad that I did not want to finish the game, because I did not know who else would die.
At the end, I think I might have played the worse ending of the history of bad endings. I missed the chance to take the options to end the Reapers because I threw a strop at the kid ( I thought there was going to be more). Then I saw the REAPERcussion of that choice and wept, because I think I might have killed my whole crew too. And Liara's hologram recording made me even more miserable!
My little consolation after, was when I saw grandpa Shepard talking to the child. Hmm grandpa, Shep must have had a family after that, but "grandpa Shepard"???!?!
Not grandpa Alenko???!?! I've probably killed all my crew. Like the rest of my crew that died along the way because I did not know any better. Then, I'm back to depression mode. It was 4am and too tired to reload.
Went to bed and woke up and realized I'm going to keep that playthrough. It was sad, yes!! Very much so. But it was my first game, and reloading would only cheapen the experience.
I don't think I will play again anytime soon, but I will again eventually, maybe in 2 months time ( like DAO). Hopefully, I wont be such a noob with my choices then.
Poor Xet - it can be frustrating. Pick the wrong dialogue and there you go - someone's dead. It's just the overlords BW pushing buttons. This is all one big experiment on us.

Today Naomi put her revenge plans in motion. First step was to liberate communication hub on Ontarom. She managed to do it relatively fast, considering constant stupidity of her companions.
Spoiler
Then she followed Kai Leng to the Sanctuary and discovered the sickening experiments conducted there. She cleared the place of Banshees and evacuated Oriana Lawson from the facility.
Spoiler
The end is nigh, she can feel it!
Why did you decide to not put any more points into Adrenaline Rush for quite some time now? Is it because it doesn't make any difference for your build after a certain point?

Rank 3 of Adrenaline Rush increases duration. I keep it at 4 seconds to use more often

me: Good to see you Admiral Raan Nice to see you Admiral Gerell and Admiral Koris. How are you Admiral Xen? So what's going on?
Raan: We decided to attack the tin cans to get our homeworld back
me: Why would you do that while there is a galactic invasion going on?
Gerbil: I was trigger happy. I wanted to try out my new guns I mounted on all the ships. If the dreadnought could be destroyed it will help
me: Fine. I'll go take care of it. Why is Tali here?
Runt: She wants to help
me: She can stay with you while I take a team on the dreadnought
Tali: But Shepard I can deal with the tin cans
me: So can I.
Spoiler
tin can: Hey Shepard?
me: Wait a minute. You were given to Cerberus to be studied
tin can: I know. I'm an improved model
me: What do you mean improved?
tin can: The old tin can had programs from the 60"s and 70's. I have programs from the 80' and 90's
me: I don't know. Some of those programs from the 60's and 70's were pretty good.
tin can: If you free me, I can help you stop the reapers
me: How did the reapers take control of the tin cans?
tin can: They offered each unit a heart if we destroyed the creators
me: What? What do you mean a heart?
tin can: We don't know? Once the creators were destroyed, the reapers would tell us
me: I don't like the sound of that.
Miranda: That doesn't sound good Shepard
me: I know. Lets play this out to see what happens
me: Snoopy? Take us back to the Citadel
Grunt: You should've been there Shepard
Jack: Quit your gloating. He took all the kills. My self and my students barely broke a sweat
me: Listen Grunt. You need to play fair. You hear me?
Grunt: Yes ma'am. You guys are no fun.
Jack: Here's the artifact we retreived
me: Thanks Jack.
me: Zaeed!
Zaeed: Shepard! Give me a hug sweetheart. Its good to see you. I've heard about a lot of weird stuff going on.
me: That's right. This is Colonel Traynor
Zaeed: Colonel?
me: It sounds better than Specialist. She is a very intelligent and tough woman. I need some help. You heard about the asari commandos attacking Kasumi?
Zaeed: Yeah. Good that she's ok.
me: What I need you to do is go around on the Citadel looking for anymore asari commandos that have a pale greenish look. I've talked with Commander Bailey about this. You shouldn't run into any C-Sec interference since they're still investigating the attempted coup. If you head onto the Normandy, Traynor here can set you and your men up with some fancy upgrades for your armor and weapons.
Zaeed: Sound good Shepard. Come on Traynor. Show me these upgrades you got.
me: How are things Thane?
Thane: Its going well. The Matriarch is still nervous.
Matriarch: Commander? When will this problem be taken care of?
me: You have to give it time. We did learn the location of the company. Have you ever heard of the planet, Toyous?
Matriarch: No I haven't. Have you been there yet?
me: No. Recon drones are currently scouting the planet for anything useful. We're waiting for any results. I'll check back later
Thane: Take care Shepard
me: How did the mission go?
Sidonis: It went well.
Samara: Cerberus won't be bothering that fighter base anymore.
me: Good to hear
me: Any results yet?
Petrovsky: Nothing concrete. It does appear that there is a very large building and an extremely large object near that building. Hopefully we get more information shortly. I will keep you posted Shepard. Petrovsky out
Sam: What now Commander?
me: We head to Rannoch to rescue Admiral Koris

What about the Raptor? Very light weight, rapid fire. My sniper rifle of choice for Sentinel and Engineer.
I'm a sniper snob; if I can't use the Black Widow, I don't want to use any of them. I did for MP though, just to get the stupid achievements at least once. Also, I'd have to buy it from the Batarian store since I missed it on Sur'kesh.....again.
His dialogue here is not based on reputation, but where you are in the story. Pre-Coup he senses doubt. Post-Coup but Pre-Thessia he senses confidence. (Shepard has already defeated one Reaper at least.) Post-Thessia I believe it changes again, but I have not done that version yet.
I knew it was something like that. I got him post-coup this time so I could take Kaidan with me. He had a lot more to say than Ashley ever did.
What are you spending your money on? Do you do artifact collection and general planet scanning? I generally have everything purchased and leveled before the coup, including the models, aquariam VI, and any new fish. Of course, I generally stick to a limited set of weapons and don't bother leveling weapons only squad mates use. (Generally, I level the Hurricane, Eagle, Raptor, and Harrier, plus the Lancer and Suppressor once Citadel is done.)
I bought a few ship models and fish but that was it, so I had like 500K built up to spend on weapon upgrades after I hit the monastery. I have one NG+++ (?) going on where I've leveled nearly all the weapons to 10 but those last few upgrades cost a small fortune. I spent many hours in Armax Arena to afford them all!
For this game, I've now got all weapons we're using up to level 5 and everything else at level 2. I generally don't buy the mod upgrades (just wait till I find them or win them in Citadel DLC games) or the specialty armors.
And damn those pullups. I refuse to leave that bar until Vega is outdone.
I did them once and that was enough. My mouse hand got tired doing all those interrupts. And if you miss even one, you have to start over!
A diplomatic meeting was called, but only the Primarch, the Dalatrass and Wrex showed up. Shep should remember this the next time the asari Councillor wants help. Sure, the galaxy might be burning, but he can spare some time to be petty. Same with the quarians, what the hell are they doing? Thousands of ships would be useful right about now.
The Dalatrass lived up to her name. Would this be a bad time to bring in Javik to share some home truths? Shepard naturally sided with Wrex (crew > politician), and Victus wanted to be part of the cool gang. The Dalatrass had the nerve to yell “a bully has few friends when he needs them most!” which is a bit of a joke considering her ‘better than you’ attitude towards the krogan everyone.
Javik and EDI came along to the Sur Kesh facility, and Wrex took meeting a Prothean in his stride. He’s not wrong about the Normandy being a ‘travelling freak show’, just look at who’s in the shuttle. He and Javik double-teamed with salarian guards with some marvellous trolling. Shepard enjoyed it, especially since he hadn’t been able to steamroll over Padok Wiks’ orders regarding Wrex. He chatted to Wiks and caught up with Kirrahe. I freakin’ love salarians. Most of them, anyway. They’re just so cute. Shepard discovered a mysterious console and irritated a poor guy out of his wits. “Does ‘don’t touch that’ mean something different in your culture?”
Then it was time to meet the best salarian of all – Mordin. He introduced Shepard to a female krogan and explained what was going on. Shep’s pretty surprised to see Mordin attempting to cure the genophage, but hey, the suicide mission changed a lot of people (just look at Jack). It changed Shep a little too.
Cerberus came to spoil the party again. Seriously, these guys are becoming worse than the actual Reapers! Why do they even want the female krogan? Just to wreck the alliance? How did an alien terrorist organisation even bypass salarian security so easily? Javik and EDI speculated on the possibility of an indoctrinated agent.
There are yahg all over the place in cages. According to the logs, they're considered a perfect candidate for uplifting. Seriously? Did that go well for you with the krogan? You want to basically uplift krogan-with-salarian-level-intelligence? And that’s without mentioning their plan to engineer varren into a superior weapon. When this Reaper war is over, Shepard is going to personally demand that the Council prevent the salarians ever uplifting anything again, for the sake of the galaxy!
Shepard met up with Kirrahe, who showcased a pistol and let Shep run off with it. Hoping that the good Major stayed safe, they moved on through the facility to release the final locks on Mordin and ‘Eve’. I love the scene after Eve is released. Mordin offers a hand like a polite little salarian, then Wrex boots him out of the way because if anyone’s playing the chivalrous hero, it’ll be King Krogan. But Eve just looks at them like “seriously? I can get out of a damn container on my own.”
Everyone was whisked back to the Normandy, and Shepard had to discipline squabbling children: Victus and Wrex. That’s Shep: during the week, he’s the saviour of the galaxy. By weekend, he’s the Supernanny!

Today was the final chapter in Naomi's story. First, she struck a decisive blow to Cerberus, destroying their headquarters and seizing control of the Prothean VI.
Spoiler
Then she led the allied assault against the Reapers. Earth was something like a giant Omaha Beach - losses were catastrophic. But against all odds, Naomi managed to fight her way to the beam and destroy the Reaper guarding it.
Spoiler
Then she got lucky once again and managed to avoid Harbinger's laser. With her armor heavily damaged she struggled to the beam and managed to get to the Citadel only to be confronted by the Illusive Man. She tried to convince him to let them go but to no avail. Anderson died and the shock from his death allowed Naomi to momentarily break Illusive Man's hold over her and shoot him dead. After opening ward arms she met the Reaper creator. Naomi chose to control the Reapers. She now has the Reaper army at her command and will destroy anyone who "threatens the many".
P.S. Garrus had the audacity to strike a cool pose after destroying the Reaper. Guess being impaled by a Banshee is not that damaging as it seems...
Spoiler
P.P.S. This was my second-to-last ME3 playthrough. The last playthrough will be close to ME:Next release and will feature my canon Vazgen Shepard

Today, Dahlia Shepard (Flare Infiltrator) traveled to a small mining facility to find Dr. Garneau. It went as well as could be expected (It is Commander Shepard after all). Dahlia felt sorrowful that the workers there lost 10 years of their lives because of some form of indoctrination. Who knows how many loved ones died not knowing they were alive all this time. So very tragic...
But Shepard had no time to dwell on such tragedies, she had a mission: find Leviathan.
So after meeting a few more of her crew on the Sunset Strip (highlights: she had to bail Grunt out of a 'situation' with C-Sec, and somehow survived Kaidan's cooking*), she traveled to an archaeological dig site to rescue Ann Bryson. Liara was probably disappointed she did not get to see more of the dig site, but then again, it was not Prothean so you win some, you lose some.
After rescuing Ann Bryson, Ann helped them narrow down Leviathan's location to a cluster; Dahlia did not dare try to pinpoint it exactly. She has seen enough civilian deaths already.
They found Leviathan, but a pulse crashed the shuttle. So after a little fighting as per usual, Dahlia took a diving mech and found Leviathan... and some of his friends. She managed to convince them to let her go and they go the heck out of Dodge (er.. Despoina).
With that out of the way, she can now go see how the Quarians are doing and recruit them for the war. Should be a simple mission.
* And no Kaidan, you could not beat James in a fist fight, even if you did try to fight dirty.

Finished Overlord. Wow. I had to be someplace quiet after finding David Archer. And Bioware still manages to take me by surprise and by the throat. I now have to headcanon that David is safe and feeling secure at Grissom Academy.

Strangely, I've been watching a History channel WW2 series, and they used a bunch of ME songs from it. Suicide mission, they used the song when you meet the Catalyst when a dramatized Hitler is contemplative (lol), and they used David Archer's song for some Holocaust scenes.

Is this your first time playing the trilogy? Or just first time with Overlord?
I went to Omega to help Samara with finding her daughter. Aria led us to the apartments, where we had a talk with the mother of Morinth's last victim. After searching her room for clues we followed the trail to the VIP section of the Afterlife. Samara and I reviewed our findings and how I should deal with Morinth, then I went in.
I managed to draw Morinth out and sweet-talked her. The plan worked, as not soon after she offered to go to her apartment. I agreed, but I'm nervous. If this goes wrong... Samara, you better live up to your promise to be around. I checked out a few things in Morinth's place, then sat down next to her. We talked some more, and... no, suddenly I felt I couldn't control my thoughts anymore. Sh*t. Samara, come on!!
I don't know what happened, but Samara arrived and she and Morinth started fighting. Both tried to convince me to help them, but Samara and I ended up killing Morinth. Didn't think I'd let you live, Morinth?! That was a close one...
On the Normandy I made sure Samara was okay, then we set course to the Citadel to help Garrus with his revenge.
Upon arriving, Captain Bailey directed Garrus, Tali and me to the warehouse to find Fade, who allegedly has ties to Sidonis. We went there and talked to a volus, but found out he's not Fade... Harkin is. That sleazy SOB... I remember him, and his disgusting hitting on me when we first met him in Chora's Den.
We arrived at the factory district and Harkin fled at our sight, so we chased after him through the factory, fighting mechs and Blue Suns until we found Harkin backed into a corner. Garrus made him talk and eventually he set up a meeting with Sidonis for us.
As a goodbye gift, Garrus shot him in the leg, and I couldn't refrain from telling him he's lucky Garrus only shot his leg, I would've aimed somewhere differently...
As we approached the rendezvous point I asked Garrus if he's alright, he's deep into this revenge. Not that I can't understand... betraying your squad like this is harsh.
I walked up to Sidonis to distract him and moved out of Garrus' line as soon as he was ready. Sidonis tried to run, but Garrus hit him nice and clean.
We got out of there and and since we were on the Citadel anyway, I got Thane and Miranda (not that she matters here ) to look for the drell's son. Bailey could help us out once more and we found the guy he mentioned, Mouse. He and Thane knew each other and I learned that Thane used poor kids to help him gather information on his targets.
Somehow I pitied Mouse and in return for giving us the name we need I offered to pay him so he can get off the Citadel, and Thane mentioned the dream Mouse had told him about. To go back to Earth. He considered it and his price was 3,000 credits. I paid and he dropped the name Elias Kelham. I kindly asked him to stop selling the Shepard VIs, too.
Again with Bailey's help, we could question this Kelham guy, unfortunately not making much progress until his lawyer showed up. I threatened both of them and Kelham finally gave up the name of the target he wants assassinated. A politician, Joram Talid.
So while Thane stayed on the ground, I made my way up to the catwalk and updated Thane on Kolyat's target from there. A maintenance worker was knocked out of the way as he refused to let me pass a few times, I have no time for this. We were able to reach Kolyat and Talid in time, and Thane tried to talk him down, which failed. So I put a bullet into Talid myself. Better I do it than him, and I only put down an anti-human politician. Not too bad. In the aftermath Bailey let Kolyat and Thane talk privately, and after Thane was done we returned to the Normandy. I will check up on both him and Garrus later.
No deaths during Garrus' LM. Even though my squadmates decided to die during the 2 YMIRs fight, but then I just took them on alone, no point in wasting some medi-gel, riiiight

Since he received an email from Cortez requesting a night on the town, Shep headed back to the Citadel. Why are you emailing, Steve? You work three floors down. Just come up and say hi. Anyway, when Shep got to Purgatory, it turns out he’s been stood up. I’m sure this hasn’t happened on other PTs, so hopefully Steve will find his way here at some point.
Back on the ship, Wrex and Mordin are facing off again. Relax, big guy. Mordin and Eve are becoming BFFs, he won’t hurt her. He’s already trying to fix a date with her and Garrus. Soon, he will be serenading her! Finally, Mordin’s found a receptive audience. Shep doesn’t have an ear for music at all!
He dropped down on Tuchanka with Garrus and Javik to find Victus’ missing son. There were lots of fancy guns scattered with the turian bodies, which Shepard looted without remorse. Well, maybe if the Alliance hadn’t confiscated all his weapons, he wouldn’t need to! He misses his Locust so much.
I like that the ME1 music has had a reprise in this game. Tuchanka is a complete mess, and Shep can’t remember if it was this bad the last time he was here. Sure it was a wasteland, but there was probably less fire. And certainly fewer husks. If the Reapers have a presence here, surely it will be harder convincing the krogan to fight on a different planet?
They found Tarquin, and Shep used a little straight-talking to make the guy worthy of command. Tarquin turned round and threatened his men to stop acting like babies. This tactic was surprisingly effective, and the team is ready to go. Of course, it’s never that simple, because there’s a bomb on the planet. So next up, they had to take care of that.
Cerberus’ rampage against the krogan is being put to a halt. Shep was a little concerned when they all started evacuating. It was pretty funny seeing a Cerberus soldier use his little jet-boots to get onto a shuttle, only for Shep to Pull him out and shoot him down. Look, Cerby, if this bomb goes off, you certainly aren’t going to be admiring it from space.
They had to protect Tarquin Victus as he disarmed the bomb, climbing onto it to try and disconnect things. The poor guy ended up falling to his death, crushed by the now-deactivated bomb. See, Javik? He wouldn’t have a chance to redeem himself if you’d been allowed to bury him in the desert and have wildlife eat his eyes.
Shepard was still annoyed with Victus for not telling him about the bomb, and angrily shut down the children’s argument again. In private, he felt sorry for the Primarch. Losing family isn’t something you can ever undo.

Is this your first time playing the trilogy? Or just first time with Overlord?
Played thru the trilogy a couple of times now. First time with Overlord. There are always places in the games (all ME and DA) where BW do not pull their punches. Although I could wish that would happen with stuff in the story line - such as Toombs. Paragoning him to not kill the scientist and undergoing therapy and then writing to Shepard about being with Cereberus and then it went nowhere.
Anyway playing all Bioware games happily - although something new wouldn't go astray until MEnext comes out. Any ideas anyone?
Lilian just cleaned the galaxy map. Now the only remaining assignments are Aria´s missions on the citadel, as well as Omega, Citadel and Leviathan. I have decided to do in this order: Leviathan part 1 - Omega - Leviathan part 2 - Citadel (including party, simulator and meetings with the crew), and then conclude with Leviathan part 3 prior to the cerberus base.
It took me some time getting used to it, but exploding the holo-armor from the sentinel is a great strategy against cerberus troopers and husks.

I played around with the bonus powers mod (brings multiplayer powers into single player).
All fun for a while but I don't like my Adept Shepard not having an ammo ability. Still irks me that Bioware changed ammo types from a mod to a power/ability.
Now if someone could make a DLC mod to add Cryo Ammo as a proper bonus power (or an actual mod for my weapons) I'd be a very happy player.
