I had to give up on my ME2 Soldier playthrough since I won't have the time to finish it in time for Friday when Titanfall comes out for the 360 in the UK. I tried to get through it as fast as I could but my obsessive need to 100% the game caught up with me. I'll just have to come back to it in a month or so once I've had my fill of Titanfall. Ah well.

Thanks for the tips, I have a feeling I'm going to need that guide later when then brutes, banshees and atlases show up. I've got fortification as my BP, but I meant to take defense matrix for the insta-shields, so I'll fix that when I get control of the Normandy. Going to spec for DR, and use armor, weapon loadout and intel bonuses for cooldown boosts.

The one time I played engineer on insanity I had a lot of trouble with the three Geth Primes. Everything else wasn't too bad. As ImaginaryMatter says, take your time.

After numerous (like a lot of) normal difficulty runs, I've just begun my first ever insanity ME3 playthrough. Engineer broshep with Miranda as LI. Just about to enter the mars facility, so not too far into it yet. I've almost died once, and I have a feeling I'm gonna get paid back for all those times I bragged about killing all their guys, but it's really more like when Vega decides to join the N7 program and shep says (something like), "now the real work begins."

I'm not going to get a tattoo, but anyone want to take a stab at how many times I'll be reloading a save?

Maybe you'll get a lot of reloads. My previous broshep, was on insanity for the first time (to get the insanity achievements), and the missions that spanked me a lot, were the grissom academy (cerberus kept coming...and coming...and coming....) and palaven. Citadel may be very tough too, but since you are already an engineer, you may find it easier (my mistake was, taking stasis as bonus power at the first part, and later, battling the boss with the extra character of the dlc + kaidan + a soldier broshep. I needed more overload, that was for sure). Oh, another funny part, you'll love (or hate) the last part of rannoch

Kai leng fights were fun lol

You mean where you have to fight the 3 Geth Primes. I'm gonna go ahead and mark down *hate*.

I had a lot of wipes at the 3 Geth primes part...until I remembered that big badass geth spitfire to fry their armors.

I always like having Tali hack one of them as a distraction, so I could use the Spitfire without my rapid fire being interrupted.

A few of my personal recommendations for the Engineer, which is probably my favorite class in ME3.

Sabotage is one of the best abilities for the Engineer (evolve it for Backfire Damage/whatever/Tech Vulnerability). It will double the damage of all your abilities against enemies. The backfire damage against Organics will also strip Marauders/Centurians of their shields but also temporarily stun enemies (after ~1.5 sec). Finally the ability will also prime organic enemies for a tech combo (who's damage is also doubled by the Tech Vulnerability evolution).

Overload should probably be involved for at least one chain evolution (Chain Overload/Neural Shock/[Chain Overload 2 or Shield Damage]). Each bounce of the Overload will detonate a non-biotic combo. For standard enemies this will allow Shepard to clean through groups of enemies rapidly with the assistance of squadmates. Squadmate powers should be evolved for their radius evolutions and recharge speed. That way against a clump of enemies they can use Incinerate (EDI), Carnage (James), Cryo Blast (Kaidan), or Energy Drain (Tali). When Shepard uses Overload he can get two explosion assuming the squadmate power connects with multiple enemies. Not only is this cool looking it does a lot of damage quickly. Against big enemies Shepard will do most of the lifting because of Sabotage's Tech Vulnerability.

I would use the Shadow Broker terminals to increase Power Damage. With +200% weapon load out the max amount of reduced cooldown for abilities like Overload, Incinerate, and Sabotage will only be ~.4 seconds. The Engineer gains a much bigger boost from Power Damage.

If you have Kaidan (who can reliably use Cryo Blast on a 6 second cooldown), you should consider the Ice Combo damage for the rank 6 evolution for Incinerate. They finally got around to fixing the bug with chilling enemies. This allows a chilled/Sabotaged Brute to be brought down with a single Incinerate, as well as allowing Shepard to one shot any chilled basic mook with an Incinerate.

Tali is an Engineers best friend as she can rapidly prime enemies in a 3 meter radius for a tech burst.

Can't believe all the folk who actually use that spitfire in that part. I hate that thing in SP. (it is some fun in MP.) It requires me to be out of cover too long. Just get into cover right after you get off the elevator and have Tali hack the Prime directly in front of you. Make sure she has 6b tech vulnerability. Also go 4a duration. Ashley works very well here as a second team mate, just make sure to save her inferno grenades for this section. Get your squad in cover behind those crates right in front of the elevator pronto, otherwise they'll run off and get themselves killed. If you have the Typhoon, have Ashley, Garrus, or James equip it. Have Tali use a pistol with a power amp. Eagle would be good if you have it, Suppressor would be even better with a heavy barrel. Shep can equip the Lancer. Hurricane with power mag and stabilizer if you go with AP ammo as your bonus. (my preference is for AP ammo as a bonus for both Engineer and Sentinel.)

I hate that gun as well. I also usually have Tali Sabotage the central prime but then I engage the Prime on the right, throwing everything I've got at him. Once their numbers are down to 2 the fight gets a lot easier.

Thanks again for the tips. I'm still a long way from Rannoch, or even the coup, and this time Ash didn't make it off Virmire, but I wanna be like TIM here and say, "I'll take your recommendation on planned installation." :D

Well, this is awkward. I deleted my ME2 Soldier save due to the impending release of Titanfall on 360, but due to recent news of there not being an option of installing the game disk onto the 360 HDD(a dealbreaker for me, I don't like the plane noises the 360 makes when running a game off the disk), swiftly followed by the news that the digital version of the game will be released in two weeks instead of on release day, I am now well and truly screwed.

I can't be bothered restarting my Soldier again, so I'll have to resurrect my Femshep back from deletion. Thankfully, due to Bioware's foresight or lack of, even if you delete all of your ME1 characters, they will still be able to be imported since they are also stored in some hidden directory in your HDD. I seriously need to find a way to delete some of them though, there is pages of saves now.

Now to decide, whether to revive my Femshep Adept, Engineer or Sentinel...hmm..decisions, decisions....

I seriously need to find a way to delete some of them though, there is pages of saves now.

You can do it with a compatible USB stick.

Format a USB stick for use on the 360. You can find out how to do it on this page http://support.xbox....usb-flash-drive.

Then you need to go to Settings, System and then Storage. Highlight your hard drive and press Y for device options. Then pick Transfer Content and pick the USB drive as the destination.

Your Shepards will be under the Publisher Data section.

Of course you are going to have to go through and deselect everything else, something that can take a long time.

When you've only got the Shepards you want gone selected, transfer the data to the USB stick. Once on there you can either Remove 360 storage on your console or just format the USB stick on your PC,

It's a long winded way of getting rid of them but it is the only way to do so.

Made it off Mars. Number of reloads: 1. Stupid grenade, I thought I was out of its range, but... Still, felt pretty good about that.

Recruited Javik on Eden Prime. Number of reloads: 5. ****ing turrets.

Sabotaged the atlas in the end battle, watched from cover as it took out all the Cerberus troops trying to jump out of a shuttle. Then James filled the atlas full of holes with incendiary ammo, and I incinerated it in a giant fireball. Glorious.

So far I'm loving the ramped up intensity of the battles. Have to find cover so quickly, which makes it easier for the bad guys to flank you, which means you really have to be aware of what's happening everywhere. Normal difficulty kinda lulls you to sleep.

Up next: Checking out a Cerberus lab for Hackett, then off to Menae to rescue the primarch. Can't wait to recruit Garrus and get that sniper rifle mojo working.

Continuing my kill all male squadmate trilogy run starring the ever loving Honey Shepard. She recruited Wrex, let Fist go, saved Tali, gave her autogragh to Conrad and became Spectre. She will head to Feros to save the colony.
