Kate Shepard

Spoiler

Petrovsky: Shepard. This is Oscar Goldman. He's in charge of the top secret, double hush-hush be quiet division

Oscar: I have sent my top two field agents, Steve Austin and Jamie Sommers, to the planet Toyous to find out what's going on. I'm hoping to get information back from them in the next day or two.

me: It must be something big for you to enter the picture.

Petrovsky: It is. Those drones sent back images that look very disturbing that's why I asked Oscar for help

Oscar: Once we get any information back, you will be notified when to go to Toyous to deal with the situation

me: I understand. I'm currently headed back to talk with the asari councilor. She has something she wants to discuss.

Petrovsky: Interesting. Be careful Shepard. Petrovsky out

Samara: I say we talk with Aria before seeing the councilor Shepard. I'm curious what the councilor wants to discuss with you.

me: I don't know. Lets see aria and go from there.

me: Sam? What is the range on your sniper rifle?

Sam: Its about 15 km

me: Ok. You will be my eyes and ears when I talk with the councilor. I will fill you in when I get more details after we arrive at the Citadel and talk with aria.

It seems the Citadel came under attack from Cerberus. Between Sur Kesh and this, Shep is starting to wonder if everyone in Cerberus is an expert Infiltrator. Judging from the logs the team keep finding, it seems they have a lot of inside agents. Shep made sure to drop a snide remark to Bailey about the sorry state of security. Nothing like kicking a guy when he’s down!  :P

They found executed C-Sec officers all over the place. All of them seem to be turian or human. Why aren't the other two Council races adding to the defence? There were even dead people in the toilets. EDI made a diplomatic comment on that. “Thorough” isn’t the word that comes to Shep’s mind...

EDI noticed that Javik seemed thoughtful, and to everyone’s great surprise, the Prothean decided to have a heart-to-heart with his least favourite ally. Is this team bonding I smell?  ^_^

I kept wondering where Thane is and why we haven’t had any input from him yet. Then I remembered he’s already dead.  :pinched:
Some journalist was keeping a running commentary as Shep’s team fought outside the Executor’s office. If someone’s out there, they really should make themselves useful. Reporters.

The team headed up to the office, only to spot Isheel out of the window. Kai Leng jumped down and had a good look at her. Why not just shoot her from up on the walkway thingy? Can’t he tell salarians apart without getting up close or something? Instead of just shooting him through the window, Shep and team ran down to meet this assassin. Kai Leng tried to complete his assassination, but got Kirrahe instead. I think I prefer this version, even though Kirrahe dies. At least it’s quick and relatively unavoidable, instead of Shep and crew stood around like the three stooges.

They chased after Leng in a skycar, only for him to suddenly drop onto the ceiling. This would be a fine opportunity to drive very close to the underside of those bridges. Just scrape him off like a bug. Or pop the roof and watch him catapult away. :P Ah well. Shep hung out of the car shooting at him, while Javik took control. Does Javik even have a valid driving licence in this cycle? You can almost see him thinking “wtf am I doing?!” as he tries to fly the car. EDI was napping in the back seat: Plugged in, charging. 15% available

They chased Leng to some lifts, and EDI popped the doors open. Good. As a synthetic, I reckon she should really be one of the strongest members of the team. Best suited to grunt work.

Ashley was guarding the Council, and almost managed to shoot Shepard in various unpleasant places while he was atop the lift. His team cornered her and the Council, but for once he took the more diplomatic route, and convinced her to stand down. Udina pulled a gun on the asari Councillor, so Shepard shot him down. Hopefully she’ll remember that the next time she’s throwing around lines like “Shepard let the old Council die for humanity.” Damn it Udina. Shep always knew you were a slippery politician, but he didn’t think you were a complete moron.

Raven Shepard completed the mission part of Citadel DLC by kicking her clone off the ship, literally, and then shooting Brooks. Man, that felt good, little weasel that she was. She spent some time in the casino and the arcade, wasting way too many credits on that stupid claw game, but she did win a volus plushy and a weapon mod for her efforts. She watched Traynor beat the snot out of her asari space chess rival, and accompanied Javik to the set of the new Blasto movie. She also had dinner in with Kaidan.

After a couple of matches in the Armax Arena, it's time to head back out to the real war.

Dahlia Shepard (Flare infiltrator) went to Sanctuary to find Kai Leng. Kai Leng was not there -- just missed him apparently -- but she did find a secret Cerberus facility that was turning refugees into husks. She shut the facility down for good, and helped Miranda rescue her sister Oriana. Miranda even got to throw her father out of a window. Bet that felt good. Miranda even gave Dahlia Kai Leng's location, which should lead them straight to Cerberus. After losing the Quarians and Thessia, it felt good to win again.

Dahlia then took a quick jaunt to Ontarom to see about removing Cerberus from a Communications Hub. No shifty-looking cows were sighted, but Dahlia cloaked her way to an easy victory because she did not feel like fighting too much.

With a little down time before hitting Cerberus Headquarters, she is ready to throw a big party for her crew and a bunch of her friends (what few are left).

* * *

I also played a bit with Jen Shepard (Biotic/Lash Soldier). Beat Menae. Died once because of a grenade I thought I was far enough away from me but I guess not. Javik should now be ready for missions and I can start double-detonating with his Slam.

I couldn't believe it the last time I played the claw game. It took less than 8 drops to get all 4 weapon mods. I was quite pleased. Its a terrible way to get upgrades. Hacking and Bypassing were better than that, and they were terrible. :P No Volus Plushy, however. I won the mods so fast I never got the Plushy, just a few music tracks. (The music tracks are terrible. Just like the cabin music in ME3. Cabin music in ME2 was much better. I wish they had used tracks from ME2 in the ME3 cabin.)

I never the played the claw game actually. Maybe that's my last, final frontier for ME3. :D

Yeah, the cabin tracks suck. Although I didn't care much for ME2's either.. except Aria's club track. The rest were ME1 songs, right? I don't care much for ME1's score, except the main intro. Maybe a few others.

What's really terrible is you can only get four mods and, if you do, then you get NONE on a NG+. I think credits are also cut off after a while (yes, I have played the claw game that many times. :P)  As for the tracks, yeah, most of them are horrible. There's one I like and I keep going until it comes up....only to have EDI troll me and have something else playing next time I go into the cabin. :pinched:

Not to mention relay defense! Beating high score in that game (Mouse's!) is a pain!

I don't like music tracks neither in ME2 nor in ME3. Especially when you can't turn them off.

Beaten Priority Earth twice. Once with a Soldier (Explosive Burst, Particle Rifle) and once with an Adept (Warp, Throw, Warp Ammo, Raptor, Locust) :D

I much prefer ME2's score to ME1, but there are a couple of tracks in ME1 that I like. The one I play in the cabin is the music from the hotel bar on Noveria. The "geth fighting" music you hear on Virmire is also acceptable.

ME2, though, is filled with music I like. The SM theme. Any music associated with Tali, particularly her recruitment mission. Samara's recruitment. Lot's of good music. (Lot's of good music in ME3 as well, even if some of it is repeats from ME2.)

Kate Shepard

Aria: I've known the councilor for nearly 400 years. I wouldn't say were good friends though. She is a good business woman. What you've told me is troubling.

me: What do you mean?

Aria: When I first met her, she had plans to expand her company. Shortly after that she seemed to go in a different direction. It was like someone took over her body. She started finding ways to protect the asari from some evil that she claimed was going to doom us. At the time, I thought she was working too much and putting too much stress on herself.

Samara: Why did she build her company on the planet Toyous?

Aria: She like the location. It was close to a relay which made it easy to ship her goods to Thessia and surrounding asari colonies. Its a nice planet. Only being there the one time. The building is huge. She has thousands of workers.

me: I would guess over time she accumulated a vast fortune that she used to become councilor to replace the one who died a few years ago

Aria: That would be my guess. I have no idea why she would want that position.  I like to join your team Shepard. I'm very curious at what is going on.

me: Ok. I will be meeting the councilor shortly.

Zaeed: What's going on Shepard?

me: I'm about to talk with the asari councilor. I need you to find a location to watch me talk with the councilor. I don't expect trouble, but I rather be safe than sorry. I also have Colonel Traynor who will watch as well. She is somewhere on the other side with Samara and Aria.

Zaeed: I can do that.

me: What's this about councilor?

councilor: My people have an artifact on my homeworld that may help you complete the microphone

me: Why wasn't this mentioned earlier?

councilor: I wasn't sure it would help at the time. My homeworld is being threatened so I want to help.

me: So only when your homeworld is in trouble, you decide to help. I will do what I can

asari councilor: I need safe passage out of here

voice: You need to stay where you're at councilor. If you suddenly leave for no reason, people will get suspicious

asari councilor: I understand

voice: We will talk later

Aria: I have never heard about an artifact on my homeworld

Samara: Neither have I.

me: We will head there right away and I want both of you with me. This may answer a lot of questions. Once you get on the ship Aria, go see the Colonel. She will fix you up with some upgrades for your armor and weapon

Aria: Colonel?

me: I like calling her that. Just ask for Traynor.

Matriarch Bethesda: What? I've never heard of any artifact on my planet

me: Are you sure?

Bethesda: I'm sure.

Thane: What's going on Shepard?

me: I don't know yet. I might have answers after going to Thessia. Keep her safe.

Thane: I will

Kasumi: After you talked with the councilor, she made a call to someone about wanting safe passage away from the Citadsel

me: Something has her spooked. Who was she talking to?

Kasumi: Don't know. I would guess the voice was disguised. I also don't know the location of that person

me: Good work Kasumi. Snoopy? Take me to Thessia

Do you mean none from the claw game or none from mission locations?

Played through some of the ME3 SP today discovered for the first time that if you don't have maxed mods you can pick them up again on missions through NG+ which comes in handy for Pistol UL materials since only four exist in the game according to the wiki.

Played a bit of multiplayer today as Geth Engineer, N7 Demolisher, Volus Adept and N7 Fury had fun on the Demolisher with the javelin with piercing mods blowing cerberus faces off through thick walls.

Played last game as N7 Fury ended up with an 'ok' team i suppose, cept the part where the host hacked the credit payout to over 500K. Didn't notice till i left the lobby though, reported the cheating and aprox time. now just waiting on what CS says about it.

Back to SP for a while for me. Time to hunt down leviathan and burn down brutes with PPR and lots of biotic explosions from liara and javik..

I tried relay defense once, and never again. I am not going to bother with shattered eezo either. I doubt the mods there are anything I care about anyway. But the claw game, I believe, has a couple power amp mods, and a sniper extended barrel that are nice to have.

Shattered Eezo is easy. There is a trick to it, stay in block mode until the opponent starts charging an attack and then follow with regular jabs. Don't bother with charged attacks, regular jabs work much better.

Unfortunately, there is no such trick for relay defense -_-

Just from the claw game. Four mods is the max you can get per character, even if you do a NG+.

Shepard stopped by Purgatory to visit Jack. Her students are doing well, so he’s pleased to keep them out of the thick of it. Jack deserves something good in her life for once. He lured her up onto the dance floor with his awkward moves, before heading down to see Joker.

Shep was pretty uncomfortable when Joker got all touchy-feely about his interest in EDI. His reaction clearly brought out Joker’s insecurities, so Shep just told him to get on with it. With an apocalypse on the horizon, Shep supposes there’s worse life choices than banging a robot. :? Joker’s idea of wooing EDI seems to be doing the Shep-shuffle in front of her. Shepard shed a tear of pride.

He had that drink with Steve. I was curious to see how the dialogue differs from femShep. Steve mentioned the eye-candy, and Shepard’s choices were “I’m the eye candy” or “I’m here for the laides.” So his choice is Stevesexual or straight, haha! :P Nah, but I love that Bioware introduced Steve and Sam in ME3. ^_^ And now Steve has finally moved on from his grief, perhaps he’ll be able to have some fun. Maybe even dancing that involves a lot of pointing?

Ashley rejoined the crew. She’s my favourite VS in ME1. Even with the makeover and whatnot in ME3, she’s my favourite until the Citadel coup. After that, Kaidan is much better. He’s got much more life, involvement and personality.

On the Normandy, Javik was being a bit bizarre. When Shep stepped up to him, Javik said “I would like to return to the Citadel... tear their limbs from their body.” Then something about Kai Leng. I’m pretty sure three different conversations just fused together. Either that or Javik is losing it. Maybe he shouldn’t be let loose on the Citadel anytime soon?  :?

Shepard will do Omega today, since there’s no rush to get Tali for it. My favourite thing about this dlc is that it changed my opinion somewhat of Aria. Previously, she just sat around talking about how great she is. In the dlc, we actually get to see her being the outlaw queen.

Aria invited Shep into her skycar so they could talk in private. It's like being in a Blasto movie. :P She mentioned having a fleet waiting nearby, ready for him to join the assault on Omega. Shep is impressed she can hide a fleet so close to the Citadel, but maybe it’s not so surprising when she has the asari councillor in her pocket.

Shepard found himself on a crashing ship again, but this time he was able to get to an escape pod and not die. It helps that he doesn’t care about this ship or its crew, so there’s no instinct to stay and help people evacuate. :? He made his way through the station with Aria, and encountered a vorcha eying a barrier. Those things have no self-preservation instinct. He doesn’t actively dislike them (unlike batarians...) but he’d never want one on his ship. The vorcha was killed by a mech, but the robots fell to Aria’s biotics.

They encountered a female turian – the first Shepard has ever seen! He likes her. She’s the kind of person who seems capable and level-headed. Aria made a pointed comment about how trusting Shepard is. That got under his skin more than it should, so he was rather surly afterwards. Maybe it’s just the weight of curing the genophage, and Udina’s betrayal... He has to take a lot on faith these days.

The bit in darkness with the adjutants was good, as always. I love those areas where you're waiting for something to attack, but it never does. Not for a while, anyway.  ^_^

If Petrovsky is a betting man, he should quit while he's behind. He tried to trap them in a barrier so they couldn't reach the reactor, but he didn't bank on Aria's temper. She ripped a hole in the barrier for Shep to escape. Then he thought he could guilt Shep into wasting time. Shep shut down the power immediately. It's not like it's the first time he's sacrificed lives. Though that batarian preacher will probably manage to survive again.  :?  I've never actually heard Petrovsky's full waffle here, since my previous Sheps were renegon/renegade. My only full paragon was an engineer. It's something to look forward to on a future PT!

Nyreen kept acting like Shep and Aria were separated at birth or something. She's not entirely wrong. He's approved of most of Aria's choices so far. Hilariously, Aria gave Nyreen a little speech about how the turian should get over her adjutant problem and be more fearless like Shepard. It mirrored his earlier comment to Nyreen about how she should be more ruthless like Aria.   Poor Nyreen can't catch a break.

Sadly, she sacrificed herself to take out those adjutants (surely that's not what Aria was getting at ). Aria lost it and charged into Afterlife without a thought to tactics. While the biotic display was impressive, Shep wasn't happy that she got herself captured and he had to fight alone. I say 'fight', it was mostly running from one generator to another until Aria could rejoin the fight. Shepard allowed her to choke Petrovsky to death (complete with creepy black eyes). In return, she grabbed him, gave him a peck on the mouth and then let go like "I don't even know why I did that."
She also sent on Petrovesky's chessboard, so it looks like Samantha's getting an early birthday present.

Raven Shepard hit Thessia, and Thessia hit back....hard. Or, well, Kai Leng did. If only she'd requisitioned some heavy weapons like she'd had when the Normandy was a Cerberus ship.....that cheating little bleep's gunship would have been toast. Instead, he got away, and took the Prothean beacon data with him. Luckily, Traynor was paying attention and was able to track where he was headed. Too bad Joker wasn't paying attention or he could have disabled the getaway ship.  <_<

After a quick stop at Ontarom to clear out Cerberus mooks making trouble, Shepard headed back to the Citadel for a few more meetings and sim matches. She broke the scoreboard doing a charity match, and easily beat Vega's high score. She also noticed Shifty Cow made an appearance on the leaderboard. Well, as long as he doesn't steal any more of her credits....

Next up: finding out wtf is going on at Sanctuary

I don't want to derail this thread (again), but I do have to ask: why do you even bother playing Shattered Eezo or Relay Defense?

From what I understand, beating the high scores of Shattered Eezo and Relay Defense give you... Ultra Light Materials (ULM) mods, for two of Assault Rifles, Shotguns, or Sniper Rifles. Level V mods for those weapons gives you... +15% weapon weight. Compare that to the ULM mods for Pistols (+50%) or SMGs (+90%). Hardly worth it. ULM mods are hardly worth it on any weapon considering that all the other mods are just plain better.

So why do you guys even bother to play those games in the Citadel DLC? Just to max all your mods to V for reasons?

The games I play are the Claw game for the mods (I don't care about the other crap) and Armax Arena for the mods. In NG+, I have all the good mods at V by that point so I can skip Armax and the rest of the games.

Just curious.

IIRC, Shattered Eezo gives AR Thermal Scope which is much more useful than the default scope mod.
I beat them just to have all mods at V. Don't like having missing mods. Mars mission bug annoyed me for quite some time until I learned of a workaround.

Me2's score is epic. Suicide Mission, TIM/Tali/Jack's themes might be my favorites. All are pretty great though... they capture the characters so well. ME3's pretty good as well.

I'm not sure how the music on Tali's recruitment fits her character. The music on Samara's recruitment may be in that league, and the Monastery mission music seems very appropriate. Nevertheless, I just love how the music on Tali's recruitment gets my blood pumping.

Spoiler
