Only played for a few minutes today. Loaded up the autosave of Jen Shepard (Biotic/Slam Soldier) just before disabling the four bombs on Omega. To avoid a repeat of last time where I died repeatedly, I took it a little more slow and methodical and got it done it in what was probably my worst time ever. Hurray for slow i guess.

Anyway, Nyreen got herself killed because she did not follow the plan, Aria got captured because she was an idiot, so Shepard had to free her and then killed all the baddies. Aria was happy to get her hands on Petrovsky, but not so happy when Shepard stopped her from killing him. Unlike Shepard, Aria does not see the bigger picture:

 - The Alliance will interrogate Petrovksy.

 - Shepard is a Spectre.

 - Spectres are above the law.

 - Shepard can "arrange" for Aria to be Petrovsky's interrogator.

Everybody wins (except Petrovsky).

the Geth cannot scramble your radar on foot, but you cannot do the same with the Mako.

There is a way around this. If you have a combat optics on one of your weapons, get out of the Mako and equip the weapon. Then simply get back in the Mako and the jamming will be gone.

No time to carry on today, but yesterday me and the other half played this:

Absolutely brilliant. You should see the page of notes we scrawled to try and keep track of things.

More Jen Shepard (Biotic/Slam Soldier):

After wandering the galaxy searching for a legend and retaking Omega in the name of the Pirate Queen, Jen Shepard decided it was time to finally go meet with the diplomats... but only because there was nothing left to do on the galaxy map. Oh quit looking at me like that, Victus.

Anyway, Shepard and company landed on Sur'Kesh. And so did Cerberus. Maybe it was the waterfalls?

Whatever. Shot all the white-armored goons and kept moving, got the Krogan Queen out alive. Yippee.

Then it was time to shoot more Cerberus goons in the face so we could reprogram an old Krogan ground-to-space cannon. Jen considered putting one of those on the Normandy, but then remembered she has a Thanix Cannon. Normandy wins.

Then it was off to squash a lot of bugs because Wrex is afraid of spiders or something. What a wuss.

That was a great write-up and I totally could relate :D I have written a bit of my Shep's past and her reasoning for Torfan already as well, and can't wait to bring it into the write-ups, even though this will still take a while until I hit the scene I plan to bring it in. Oooh, the scheming joy
Colonist/Ruthless is some powerful and devastating combination. My current run really changed my view on the selectable background. I was a fan of Earthborn/Sole Survivor before, but now Colonist and Ruthless all the way, haha.

Hey, thank you! :D
It’s nice to hear that the stuff I write sounds somewhat decent, I’m always a bit worried about how the things I write in English come across and if my grammar is okay and stuff.
I agree, Colonist/Ruthless is a great combination that I only discovered recently as well – I’d say Colonist/Sole Survivor was my favorite before that and probably still is for Paragon Shepards.
I’m looking forward to reading your take on that background, Hannah usually has some very relatable and interesting thoughts. ^_^

Here’s what Reyes did yesterday:

On their way to Donovan Hock’s party on Bekenstein, Kasumi gave Reyes a few last instructions on their plan to retrieve Kenji’s greybox. She had created the fake identity of “Allison Gunn”, leader of a mercenary company that Shepard was going to attend the party as. Reyes didn’t quite understand why it was necessary for her to wear a dress, but Kasumi assured her, that it really suited her. She still didn’t feel very comfortable though, Reyes hadn’t worn a dress for years and she didn’t consider herself the best actress either. The identity Kasumi created didn’t seem too difficult to portray though, considering the similarities between her actual profession and her fake one.

Getting into Hock’s mansion wasn’t hard, at least not for Allison Gunn – Hock got suspicious when he noticed Kasumi, so she had to find another way inside. Luckily Saren’s statue and all their equipment got in without any problems and were put to use after they had disabled all security measures of Hock’s vault. Reyes hesitated for a moment when she looked at Saren’s golden face. The close resemblance to its model reminded her of the time back then, when she still thought that the turian Spectre and his Geth were the true enemy. Turned out it wasn’t that simple and that Saren still had enough willpower left to put an end to his own live instead of preventing Shepard from stopping Sovereign. She could only wish that she would still be capable of that, should she ever get indoctrinated by the reapers.

Finding Kenji’s greybox was easy and even Hock’s mercenaries didn’t put up much of a fight until Shepard and Kasumi reached the landing area and were attacked by Hoc himself. His gunship went down quickly after Kasumi disabled its shields though. The two escaped with the Normandy’s shuttle and Kasumi found time to look through the data they retrieved from the greybox. She seemed happy to finally have him with her again, but that quickly changed when Kenji asked her to destroy all his memories in order to keep the information that he found secret and for Kasumi’s own security. She didn’t want to lose her boyfriend again, but Reyes told her that it was for the best to respect his last wish. Kasumi didn’t need his greybox to remember their time together. Although it hurt her a lot Kasumi eventually saw reason and destroyed all the data. Reyes appreciated that she did the right thing eventhough it was incredibly hard for Kasumi, who appeared to be musing about her decision in the next few days to come.

After changing back into her regular clothes, Shepard decided to head for the Quarian Flotilla next, but on the way there was some time for lots of planet scanning, resource gathering and a few emergencies, like the MSV Broken Arrow getting captured by geth and almost crashing into a human colony or a strange geth machine that was capable of influencing the weather. It took them a few days to reach the Vallhallan Threshold, so Reyes also found some time to talk to her crew.
Garrus seemed to be done with his calibrations for once, so they discussed a few things about their current mission, but also the good old times on the Normandy SR1. When Reyes asked him about his opinion on their chances of survival, he told her that there would be losses for sure. There was no way around it, considering the strength of their enemies, but he promised not to tell anyone and to stick with her until the end, no matter what’s to come. Reyes already knew that, but it didn’t change the fact that she greatly appreciated having people like him and Tali on board that she knew she could trust… and him understanding, that it was best not to have the whole crew know how dire things looked and that Shepard wasn’t the superhuman impeccable hero that everyone constantly made her out to be.

Garrus also mentioned that humans seemed to prepare a lot different from turian soldiers and when asked about turian preparations, he told her about the regular sparring-matches among the crew and about that one reconnaissance specialist that he got into an argument with. They beat each other up until the judge called it a draw and then continued to test their reach and flexibility in her quarters. It made Reyes laugh how smug he put it and on a whim she suggested that the two of them could try that stress relieve strategy as well. It was intended as a joke, but she apparently failed to make that clear when the words actually left her mouth. Garrus was understandably taken by surprise and his first reaction was to make a joke about her having a thing for men with scars. When he thought about it for a few moments longer however, he suddenly didn’t seem too opposed to the idea. He told her that there was no one in the galaxy that he respected more than her and if they found a way of actually making it work, he would absolutely like to try it. Reyes didn’t expect him to get this serious about it and had no idea how to react. She felt oddly comfortable around him ever since they had settled their disagreement about Sidonis and she might have had interest in him… if he had been a human. She had never seriously thought about dating or having sex with aliens before and suddenly had to remember how she and her friends on Mindoir used to make jokes about those xenophile weirdos trying to bang aliens. It was just nothing she ever considered, but seeing how much Garrus seemed into the idea, and that she actually felt closer to him than to most of the humans she knew, it suddenly turned into a valid possibility.
Nonetheless the whole situation felt terribly awkward to her and in the end she kinda just left him standing there without clarifying or even making up her own mind about whether she wanted to try it or not.

After that encounter Reyes desperately needed to get her head clear and went to talk to Thane who told her a few things about his training and the pact that lead his species to become the Hanar’s servants. When he went on to talk about his work he suddenly seemed to be troubled by a strange memory and told Reyes that he would prefer not to discuss that matter right now. Apparently there were more things from his past haunting him than just his mistakes concerning his son, so Reyes left him alone for now and tried to focus on the next mission instead of everyone’ personal problems, including her own. The Normandy was approaching the Quarian Flotilla, so she told Tali and Kasumi to get ready. Taking her along would hopefully allow Kasumi to get her mind off of Kenji’s greybox for a while.

Reyes looked really good during her conversation with Garrus btw. – probably something about the camera angles or the lighting. I especially liked her scars in that scene. They don’t get too bad to look at, because she’s a rather balanced Renegon with about 3/5 of the renegade bar and 2,8/5 of the paragon bar filled. Also the yellowish orange glow really suits her skin color and her dark blonde hair. I think this is the first time I’ll actually keep those scars until the end. ^_^

Jen Shepard (Biotic/Slam Soldier) was busy today.

1. Rescued the remains of a Turian Platoon from Tuchanka.

2. Stopped Cerberus from detonating a bomb on Tuchanka, watched the remains of that Turian Platoon get wiped out because they suck.

3. Cerberus was attacking civilians on Benning. But then the hunters became the hunted as soon as Shepard landed because Shepard is the ultimate predator.

4. Finally got fed up with Primarch Victus's whining and went to cure the genophage. Decided to cure the genophage. That made Wrex and Eve (Bakara) happy. Wrex decided to make up a new Krogan word for "hero". How nice.

What is also nice is that the new Salarian Councillor is not as hostile towards Shepard for curing the genophage as the old councillor would be. I do not recall that from any previous playthroughs.

5. Took a quick trip to frigid Noveria to seize a Cerberus Fighter Base for the Alliance. Cerberus put up a big fair small puny no fight at all.

Ha, same here, not a native speaker, so I also have to look up some things, always hoping it's the right term ^_^ But, from what I can tell you're doing just fine!

True, Paragon works well with those for me too.

Ah, it's not that much what I've written, but I'm touching the subject. And quite similar in the approach, opening up to the person she likes ;)

Well well, yesterday I did more Vega stuff. It boggles my mind how much was put into the dialogue variations, that there are so many subtle differences. Differences depending on who your other squad mate is, if you've talked to James at all on the Normandy, different non-import dialogue...

I have started a playlist a while ago and will gradually add stuff when I have collected most of the dialogue for each mission. For anyone who's interested ;)

https://www.youtube....DcGGGkYjD_2W8QQ

Also if anyone notices I've missed something, lemme know! I'm having a lot of fun picking this game apart right now, but it's also easy to loose yourself in all the variations  Sur'Kesh is one of the worst so far and I'm still not finished there. Not by a long shot I guess.

Does anyone know how to get the following dialogue there? It's mentioned in the wiki, but I have no clue if that is really Wreav who should be in charge (because if I remember correctly, only Wrex, Kirrahe and Tolan refer to Virmire? Could this be with Wrex if Maelon's cure was destroyed?):

When the conversation shifts to Virmire because Shepard destroyed Maelon's cure, James tries to ask about how the place get nuked only if Garrus, Liara, or Javik aren't there to offer their opinions otherwise.

I'm going to take care of the genophage cure now, time to actually continue the game for once :P

And I try not to melt, stupid summer!

I finally started my canon shepard trilogy playthrough.

Corrin Shepard, Adept - Earthborn,Ruthless.

She doesn't particularly dislike Batarians. Torfan was just orders, which happened to be different from Major Kyle's.

Mass Effect 1.

Corrin became a spectre despite her objections. She would however make the most of it.

Met up with Garrus and Wrex and decided she wanted them as her team.

On the planet Ontarom Corrin, Wrex and Garrus jumped out of the mako to engage the mercs around an underground building. When it was over the mako was spewing flames out of the wheels.

Corrin "Wrex, I'm pretty sure that was your carnage."

Wrex "Well I'm not fixing it, I ain't no tech."

They both looked at Garrus.

Corrin "We'll wait over there Garrus."

Garrus "Great (sigh)"

The planet Binthu, investigating Cerberus and Wrex decides he wants to ride around with his head steaking out of the Mako.

Corrin "Wrex, will you sit down!"

Wrex "I don't think much of the driving, I'd rather see where I'm going"

He came to his senses on the next planet.

Asteroid X57

Corrin decides to drive the Mako around the back of the mined building after destroying the turrets.

They make their way carefully through the proximity mines to the back of the building.

Corrin looks around and sees only garrus with her.

Corrin sighs as she sees Wrex still next to the Mako.

As she quietly tries to attract Wrex's attention, two batarian rocket soldiers from the front of the building run straight past her and Garrus towards the mako and Wrex.

Corrin "I'm beginning to regret bringing that krogan."

Corrin opened fire on the soldiers carefully, she had no idea what would happen if the mako were to explode. The rocket soldiers were dealth with and Wrex decided to rejoin her and Garrus.

I'm aiming for the Wrex achievement and so far the game glitches have added some unexpected moments that have gone towards forming Corrin's opinion of wrex.

I'll be going with Liara and Wrex for the achievements.

I have to say though, I'm finding the engineer an enecpected joy to play as. Having so much shielding at the beginning of the game thanks to electronics is almost as, if not as awesome as the soldier's health regeneration ability. It really improves sutvivability.

And can anyone think of why I found Quarian armor on Eden Prime? Must have one held hostage somewhere.
