Started an ME2 run yesterday with a female Vanguard Shepard.
Today I have finished Kasumi's loyalty mission and recruited Mordin.
I'm planning to keep Kasumi, Zaeed and Legion alive. Wrex is alive already. Council is lost. I'm not sure about Garrus (I may let him die or not) but the rest of the squadmates are dead on this playthrough :)

The Cycle has been broken!!!  I'm free! FREE!! O Lordy I'm free at last!.

The last couple of months I've been trying to clean up all the unfinished playthroughs I'd started but never finished for some reason. (It's the completionist in me). With a couple of dozen alternate Profiles across two Platforms I've finally pared it down to three Careers.

A Soldier run in ME3 where I'd got through everything, including all the DLC's, and was about to go to Thessia, but I left it there. (I always seem to lose interest in ME3 about there for some reason).

An Assault Sentinel run in ME2, where I just finished Freedoms Progress and got command of the Normandy and went to Alchera to pay respects to my previous crew.  I left it there because it I think it made me nostalgic for the first Normandy.

And last I found a really, really old Soldier run in ME1, where I'd just got to the Citadel after Eden Prime. This particular Career is where I must've tried to use the CC when I first got ME, but the Shep  looks like a cross between Richard Davi and Howard Wolowitz from the Big Bang Theory. "Problematic!"

Probably why I left it to begin with .. and probably why I never bothered with the CC again. lol

So tl;dr,   I'm out kiddies. Keep the faith.  :)

Now I'm off to cause some havoc around the ruins of the Capital Wastelands.

Two more missions with Vega dialogue finished  (sorry you guys, I'm sure I bore you already :D)

Then the last 3 days I followed Vazgen's suggestion and started reading Vega's old fan thread (hit page 110 today, woo!), and finally learned for sure he's 26 (figured he'd be 26/27 before because I found his birth year somewhere online, just wasn't sure if that was legit).

It's very interesting that some people really had an idea about his character already, only going by a few released pictures (and soon after the Conviction comic came out).

And I gotta say this made me extremely excited about the new characters in ME:A, but I'm not sure if I really want to know that much about characters before the game is out. I did that with DA:I because I soaked in every info I could get, and while it was really great to do so, I also like surprises and to see things for the first time in the game. I wasn't here back then btw, so I guess it would've been even more intense, haha.

How are you guys feeling about this, are you gonna look at all the next squadmates threads as soon as there will be any info or are you trying to avoid knowing too much beforehand? :)

Never care about minor things like that.

I want to know what the main story is about. Then it's just about how the game mechanics work.

Decided to continue a very, very early save that I created with my FemShep back in August. Saved right before leaving the Citadel for the first time. Forgot I saved in the elevator.

Anyways...

James and Jessica spar together. I hope James doesn't get beaten by a dancer for getting too close...

After taking a few days to brush up on some Multiplayer (dang, the Turian classes are pretty fun to play) and then an upgrade to Windows 10 (followed by a slight scare that was resolved with reapplying the Visual Studio C++ 2010 program), I decided to take a peek into my bugged save and discovered that I could finally slide down the ladder, and thus did not lose any data. That made me super excited.

So upon finishing the Leviathan DLC, I went ahead and did the Omega DLC then continued my story by traveling to Thessia.

anyway, to recap recent events:

After leaving the Citadel RJ heads to the planet with ex-Cerberus scientists. crossing paths with Jacob, she works with the group to ensure they escape. afterwards she heads to an Asari colony and encounters her first set of Banshees. She also stops Samara from killing herself, allowing her and her daughter to realize there is another way to keep the code happy.

After several friends sent her an email wanting to spend time on the Citadel, she made a stop there. She joked with Garrus, saying while no one alive could out shoot him, she had, technically, died. they held a good laugh. She talk to Liara about the good memories of her mother. She found James getting a new tattoo, and called him out on his flirting. She crossed paths with Zaeed and with his help, convinced a Volus ambassador to both tell them the Turian planet Cerberus was targeting and handing over some assets. Catching Jacob at the hospital, she was surprised, and happy, to learn that he was going to be a father, secretly knowing that the war needed to end for his new family. RJ also bid Samara a more formal farewall, wishing each other good luck.

Finally, she made her way to Kaidan, who was at the cafe. After some easy talking, Kaidan admitted he still loves her, and wanted to know if they still had a chance. RJ, who had been burying her feelings for him after Horizon, and comforted by the fact that he was not overly bothered by the fact that she spent time with Thane, whose death still hung over her, decided to give in and accept Kaidan back.

Afterwards the team heads to the Quarians (and I still want to call them Qunari... dang Q names), only to learn they had started a war with the Geth. agreeing to help them escape the system, Shepard teams up with Tali to take on the Dreadnaught. discovering Legion at the core, she frees it. It shuts down the dreadnaught, and suddenly Admrial Gerrel orders the fleet to open fire. after escape, an angered Shepard lashes out at him, and tells him off her ship. With Legion's help, after it admitted that the geth aligned with the Reapers because the Quarians attacked, Shepard works to free them of the Reapers. Shutting down a server, saving Admrial Krios, they focus their attention on the main base, only to discover it was another Reaper Destroyer. determine to end the war, Shepard has EDI link up with the fleet, paints the Reaper, and stares down the Reaper.

She then has Legion upload the upgrade, and manages to talk the Quarians into not attacking and ending their war. gaining two armies for the price of one, Shepard heads back. She tracks down the Leviathan and helps Aria take back Omega before speaking with the Asari Councilor, then heads to Thessia. Just as they were about to learn of the Catalyst, they were bested by Kai Leng. Shepard shoulders the defeat hard.

Whoo, that was a bit lengthy :)

V-sync doesn't really do much to improve my framerate. I may as well turn it back on after so long. The screen tears are really bothering me.

Is there an option I can turn off to get rid of the blur effect caused by biotic explosions, nova, and etc...?

Those weapons were in multiplayer only (barring modding of course). I suspect they would have been added as DLC weapons at some point if the developers had not moved on to other projects. Creating the Extended Cut DLC probably cut into other DLC plans.

Delayed Vega some more until after the coup, poor sod. The dialogue stayed the same after the sparring, but I can't wait to see if anything else changes when delaying until after the geth dreadnought or even further. But I think tomorrow I will actually continue with my real playthrough. I'm getting a bit too carried away :P

My name is James Vega. I served with Commander Shepard or more specifically, Commander Elizabeth Nancy Shepard during the reaper war. It has been a few years since the war ended. But this story is about my time  on the Normandy with the Commander.

I open the door and greet the Commander. I will say for someone who stopped Saren and the collectors, she's a good looking woman. I tell her the committee wants to talk. A moment later Admiral Anderson shows up. I walk behind both while they talk. They stop to exchange a few words when the Commander got angry at the Admiral. I wasn't able to hear everything been said, but it appeared Shepard didn't like the Admiral. I don't know what their history is, but if I acted like she did, I would be thrown in the brig for insubordination

Just before they went to speak, LtCdr. Williams showed up. Her and Shepard exchanged a couple of words. I had no idea they knew each other.

As I sat outside the the committee room, the building was hit with what felt like a huge bomb. The reapers have arrived. The LtCdr and I got to safety when Anderson said over the comms to get to the Normandy. I finally was able to see outside. The reapers were destroying everything in their path. My heart went out to the people who were dying. I took time to get to the Normandy because of all the debris in the way. We looked behind us and saw a cruiser explode. On man. This is bad.

We finally made it to the Normandy. The pilot was told to get to the beacon to get Shepard and Anderson. A few minutes later there was Shepard and Anderson. He decided to stay behind. He also gave Shepard her dogtags.

The pilot came over the comms about a meassage for Shepard. Were going to Mars. Whatever is there better be worth it. I want to stay and fight. Leaving my planet made me feel like a coward.

We get to Mars and encounter what looks to be Cerberus troopers. Shepard and the LtCdr got in a heated argument. What the heck? Does Shepard hate everyone?

We hear a noise and see an asari deall with a couple of Cerberus troopers. Apparently the asari, Shepard the LtCdr know each other. The look on Shepard told me she wasn't happy to see the asari. I learn her name is Liara. She mentions about finding plans for a device that can wipeout the reapers. Shepard asked why she didn't download the information to her omnitool? A very good question. All we got was a blank stare from the asari. So now we have to head to the archives to get these plans. Shepard told me to get back to the shuttle in case Cerberus was to get away.

As I make my way back to the shuttle, I see the storm approaching and the wind blowing harder. I make it to the shuttle and send message to the Commander. I don't know if she heard me or not.

After a short time, Shepard calls for about stoping Cerberus from leaving. Ok. I see the Cerberus shuttle. This is going to hurt. I ram the shuttle giving myself whiplash. Shepard comes over to make sure I'm ok. Oh crap. A robot has injured the LtCdr. Shepard shoots the thing and tells me to bring it on the ship. What? Ok.

The LtCdr looks bad. Shepard tells the pilot, Joker, to head to the Citadel

Once at the Citadel, the medics take the LtCdr to be cared for while the Commander went to talk with the council. I take moment for myself. I think about leaving Earth. My home. We need to get back there and fight.

Shepard comes by and tells me the council won't do anything.. We head back to the Normandy.

Down in the cargo bay, I look to my left and see Shepard talking with Cortez. Hes a good guy. It looks like the Commander came down to meet the crew. She comes over to talk with me while I'm doing pullups. This should impress her. But she asks a couple of questions. So lets dance and talk. Lets says I won't and I haven't done that with her again. She kicked my backside. She broke my nose. She even gave me an earful about calling her Lola. I'll stick with calling her Commander.

We head to Palevan's moon, Menae. The Turians are taking a beating. Right out of the shuttle we fight husks. Damn. The Commander doesn't mess around. She took care of them with no problem.  We learn that the Primarch was killed a short time ago. While the General finds who the next one is, we go take care of some husks. The Commander is relentless. I'm glad I'm not the bad guy.

We learn the next Primarch is a General Victus. We head to where he's located. There he is. We need to get rid of the uglies first. I have to say I admire the way the Commander goes head first in a fight. I swear she is Satan in human form.

Once cleared, she informs the General he's the next Primarch. He ask's that we help him get the Krogan to help his species fight the reapers. That's a tall order. We head back to the Normandy

From the files of James Vega

We head back to the Citadel. I guess the Commander went to check on the LtCdr while I went to Purgatory to get a drink. I was enjoying the music and watching the other marines in the bar celebrate when the Commander walked in. We made small talk. I made the mistake of asking her to buy me a drink. If words can kill, I would be dead right now. She wanted nothing to do with that. I wonder what it take to get her to smile.

Some representatives from other species were onboard for a meeting. No idea what was said.

So are headed to Sur'kesh. We're greeted by snipers aiming their weapons at us. Not good. I was worried the Commander would blow a gasket and start shooting everyone. She kept her cool. We're here to pick up a female Krogan. A salarian that the Commander knows, greet us. His name is Mordin. Both talk for a mement before we see a female Krogan in some kind of glass cell.

That doesn't sound good. UFO's have enter Salarian airspace. Its Cerberus. Who told them? Who would gain by telling them? Oh crap. We shoot through some of them. I like to know what training school the Commander went to. She's kick's tail. Glad she's on my side. More Cerberus. The Commander makes a few nasty remarks at them. Haha. Good one Commander.

Its get the female out. What is that? Its robot Cerberus. A few grenades later and the thing blows up. Now lets head back to the Normandy.

I look to my left and see the Commander talking with Cortez. Its sad his husband was killed. He needs to put that aside so he can concentrate on flying the shuttle. I hate for something to happen to him. The Commander walks over and asks a few questions. I tell her I miss my Uncle. She doesn't seem to care. Unfortuantely I learned after the war he died while helping folks escape.

She asked about using the punching bag. Go ahead. She put on her headphones and started punching. Something was really bothering her. For the next 15 minutes she just kept punching without showing any signs of being tired. Damn.  I felt sorry for the punching bag

We head to Grissom Academy to rescue some students. Cerberus is here. Why are they doing this? We run into a Kathlee Saunders. She knows Admiral Anderson. Mmmm. Were they a couple? She points us in the right direction to reach the students. Who is that? Oh crap. Oh double crap. Oh man. Some woman with a ponytail punches the Commander. The Commander returns the favor. Punches the girl. Hard. I mean hard. Then grabs her by the throat and says if she does that again, she will kill her. I thought the girl was going to cry. Her and the Commander know each other. She tells Jack and the students to follow us as we clear a path back to the shuttles

That Jack girl stands there with nothing to say. She's lucky she isn't dead. Wow. Look at all the Cerberus soldiers. This is a tough fight. The Commander throws a grenade killing a couple of them. Once the fight is over we head through the doorway. Hey look. Its a giant robot Cerberus. The Commander climbs into it. This is too funny. I just stand back and watch the Commander fire on the Cerberus guys. Haha. All I hear from them is TAKING CASUALTIES. What a bunch of losers.

Back on the Normandy, the Commander uses the punching bag again. Her endurance must be very high. After she finishes, she walks over to Cortez by the shuttle and says something to him, then heads for the elevator. Wonder what that was about.

I started another trilogy run even though I'm currently playing ME3. The only reason for this playthrough is too see how many squadmates I can have survive the suicide mission by doing the fewest loyalty missions.  Four of them I will do no matter what. Grunt, Kasumi, Zaeed and Miranda. Why those 4? They die in ME3 no matter what if their loyalty mission isn't completed. I don't count Legion and Thane since both are killed no matter what. With those 4 missions, I will include doing Jack's loyalty mission so she can maintain the barrier. What I most likely will do is make a save before the IFF mission, and continue to the suicide mission with the 5 I mentioned who will be loyal. If someone dies, I will reload the save and most likely do Mordin's loayalty mission since he's the weakest squadmate to give me 6 loyal squadmates. I did a playthrough similiar to this however long ago with 5 not loyal and everyone survived

Well, today, I made my very first mod for Mass Effect 3. With this mod, I replaced all of the Cerberus troopers' audio lines with clips heard from Casey Hudson.  That way, every time I blow a Cerberus trooper into tiny pieces with a biotic combo, I gain a little bit more of my soul back.

I have been trying to work this out and I am having problems getting it to work:

Miranda team lead, Kasumi vents

Jack bubble, Miranda 2nd team lead

Does someone do the escort?

Shepard's final team: Miranda, Jack or Kasumi

Hold the Line:

Garrus - 3, Zaeed - 4, Grunt - 4

Thane - 1, Legion - 1, Samara - 1, Jacob - 1

Mordin - 0, Tali - 0

= 15 points for 9 team mates < 2 average = 1 dead squad mate or

no escort

Shepard's final team, Jack and Kasumi

Miranda +2

= 17 points for 10 team mates < 2 average = 1 dead squad mate.

Continued my ME 2 game with Naseem Shepard, the only guy who didn´t went through ME1.

Woke up some time ago in a weird lab, found out that weapons now work with thermal clips and that Sentinels now have tech armor. Weird, couldn´t remember that but ah well, I can hardly remember what I did two years ago (I gibbed some stuff  ).

Seems Cerberus still has problems with things like disloyal agents, incompetent agents , stuff blowing up and so on. Some things never change. They should recruit someone competent like me...oh crap they just did.

Ok went to Freedom´s Progress, met some quarians, seems they don´t like Cerberus, too. I don´t like Cerberus either or uh well, seems I am Cerberus on this mission. At least Tali was there, it´s a small galaxy. ;)

Fine, fine got it, these Collector dudes don´t collect postal stamps but living humans. Not nice.

So went back to this other Cerberus base (seriously how many bases does Cerberus have) and wanted to tell Martin Sheen to beep beep beep.  Just when I started he told me "Work for me, shiny new ship with old brittle pilot is yours. And you actually get paid" Ok, I take the ship, seems that Joker has grown fond of me. Long time since I threw insults at him after all.

Miranda went all bossy on me, supported by the talking holo. After asserting my authority against this backtalking subordinates, went to grab this doctor anyways.

Omega is a dirthole full of criminals, met the boss of the family, chick called Aria. She was droning about how she´s Omega, I only thought "wanna bang."

Don´t judge me, I was dead for two years. I think I heard something that this frog dude is doing charity in a disease ridden area. What fun. Oh humans are immune, that´s nice. :) Took a drink before leaving the bar and hit the ground. After I woke up I found out that I didn´t drink dextro ale but poison. Ok bartender this is not nice. i wanted to kill him but well then talked some turian into killing him for me. Must be some sentinel support thing or so. Seems that I can´t do anything really good but support and not getting killed.

There was this guard, blathering about restricted access etc. Whatever. Told the turian to talk to my grenade launcher and he let us pass. Watched a batarian die, rescued his money before it gets scavenged by looters and met some dudes shooting at us. Don´t know who, these guys all look like targets to me.

Finally arrived at the clinic after engaging in the local sport of looting the dead and robbing the living. This doctor is a fast talker. Told him that we are from a secret organisation and he tried to deduce which one. He got it after a few minutes or so. Was impressed until I looked at the clothing of my teammates.

"Uh guys, are you really wearing the badge of a terrorist organisation openly?"

"Sure we do, we are proud to belong to a human supremacist group!"

Well ok...

Jacob saw my confusion and explained to me that Cerberus may be labeled terrorist in Citadel space but in Terminus systems you need to wear your "colors" like some oldschool gang. <_<  In the Terminus systems Cerberus isn´t known as terrorists but as big bad mofos.

Yeah sure Jacob, whatever you say.

i talked with Mordin for a bit and negotiated his contract when the air conditioning went out. Uh wait a moment, that´s no air conditioning but life support.  Ok, Mordin asked us to solve this issue and we agreed. He didn´t need to ask, that´s something you don´t wish for your worst enemy.

So we went and met some batmen and..krogans?  Batman told me he wants to help the collectors and they promised them something . No idea what, I don´t think he knew either. Put a bullet in his head and threw around some batpeople. My evil Cerberus henchmen felt really good putting bullets in the heads of helpless aliens I threw on the floor. Jacob was especially fond of pulling people from the ground and letting them fall to their death. Yeah that´s the high life of a human supremacist. Killing aliens for a good cause.

After we killed everyone, we went back to Mordin. He was really fond of being able to breathe and joined the cause of Cerberus to further humanity. Or something like that. Ah yes, we wanna kill the same dudes. His assistant went ballistic though. He was really angry that we killed the dudes who tried to kill him. Yeah ok, I said something like "you can go if you leave the human alone"  and then shot them in the back but hey, they would have spread the plague probably... or so. Didn´t matter anyways, Mordin agreed with me and human dude got the clinic. I like STG medics. They are really pragmatic.

Oh we also spread the disease cure via the environmental controls. Ok, if you say so. Good that someone thought of that.

So after all this work I took a look around in my shiny new ship. Seems Joker and the AI don´t get along but who cares. I don´t like hologlobe either but uh well...Joker. Hello my new hologlobe friend.

Seems my shiny new ship is only half finished though. Everyone has some ideas how to upgrade it. I think I have to renegotiate my deal with TIM but first I have to hear what the council and the alliance have to offer.
