How did you get Destroy with a 925 EMS?

From ME2

If the base is destroyed in ME2 and ems is below 1750, destroy will be the only ending available.

If the base is saved in ME2 and ems is below 1750, control will be the only ending available.

Thanks.

Just to add to my post from above, the base is destroyed in an ME3 default playthrough

Nothing tonight, as I've been out to dinner, come back and seem to have progressed from listening to the theme of Smokey and the Bandit, through to Convoy, Dukes of Hazard and general country music.

So as recompense, a few unposted screens of the ME2 so far:

Am really warming to her face - it's quite distinctive, I think she would make a good Renegade. Sadly Paragon it is.

Brad Shepard (Marksman Sentinel) and Aria, with Nyreen in tow, traveled through the mines of Omega to get to the Reactor to shut down all the force fields scattered throughout Omega. Along the way, the killed a few Adjutants, Rampart mechs and Cerberus troops. But it turns out that the route they took was a trap laid by Petrovksy. But it also turns out that angry Aria can open holes in force fields with her biotics. Shepard rolled through the hole, then ran to the Reactor terminal to shut down the force fields. He ignored Petrovksy's rambling long enough to reroute power to avoid shutting off some life support systems.

Speaking of rambling, I can never tell what point Petrovsky's is trying to get across to Shepard. First he tells Shepard that he will never be able to reroute power away in time, which is basically telling him to hit the Overload. Then he tells Shepard that Aria is a terrible person, which is basically telling him to reroute the power; don't overload the reactor.

Shepard and Aria then made their way through Omega to the Gozu district (once again no dialogue about Mordin unfortunately), then finally made it to Afterlife. They got there in time to watch Nyreen die because she did not follow the plan. No tears were shed, although Aria did spill some blood of Cerberus goons as some sort of revenge. Aria was then briefly trapped by Petrovksy because she was blinded by rage, but Shepard got her free in short order and they kicked everyone's butt. Petrovsky surrendered and Shepard took him into Alliance custody.

Shepard and Liara then had some cuddle time before they fell asleep and he had another bad dream.

Then Shepard, EDI, and James cut a bloody swath through Cerberus Headquarters before making mincemeat of Kai Leng. Once again, a Phantom managed to last longer than Kai Leng. You suck Kai Leng. Anyway, they recovered the Prothean VI and discovered that the Catalyst is the Citadel and the Citadel was moved to Earth because The Illusive Man is indoctrinated and also an idiot.

Considered whether or not to delete the games to free up harddrive space. I still haven't had it in me to pick up my barely started 2nd playthrough of ME3. I did play ME again and started ME2.

A little bit of this:

Spoiler

  • I always wanted to help the Quarian out by potentially having the option to buy a ship for her, or at least give her some credits
  • The Council dismissing the claim of advancing the main reaper threat plot from ME1 is one of the worst decisions Bioware made for the Trilogy. It's completely unbelievable that they would react like that - what the hell went through their mind when they thought of that bit of story planning? Talk about setting up problems for the future right from the off
  • The adverts are all really amusing, as is the passive shopkeepers dialogue and the energy drink machine

Journal Entry 10 of Marcus Shepard

Two years,...it's been two years since the Normandy was destroyed and I got spaced.

The last thing I remember is falling towards the surface of the planet Alchera after I shoved Joker in an escape pod and the Normandy exploded. When my suit ruptured, I knew I was a goner.

Yet, here I am, typing my first journal entry in a long time in my cabin on a new ship. My first "new" memory was waking up and feeling like I did after my exposure to the Prothean beacon on Eden prime; there was a woman looking down at me, and there was a guy in the background. They were talking about me, that I was not ready to be revived, then I was sedated. After what seemed only like a couple of minutes, I wake up again with the sound of explosions and the voice of the woman yelling at me to get up. Not 10 seconds after I completely "wake up" from death and still dealing with the effects of shock, I'm being told to grab a pistol, some ammo, and defend myself from the automatic security system of the lab I found myself in. For a little while, I follow the woman's instructions until I heard an explosion on her end and she said she can't maintain contact with me. While I was trying to find a way out of there, I found some journal entries in an office. I learned about the project that brought me back to life, and that it was called Lazarus. I also found the entry of a man who didn't sound all that pleased about his current position or the fact that so much money was spent on my revival. I also found another entry left by the man in a hallway furthur on, and learned that the name of the woman is Miranda. As for the guy who left the journal entry, he sounded like a dick.

Eventually, I run into another guy named Jacob who is trying to defend himself from the mechs. I learn from him that it's been two years since the Normandy was destroyed, and that most of the crew made it off in time. Than the dick that left those journal entries I found earlier contacts Jacob and requests help in escaping the facility. We eventually find him wounded in the main security room, and it turns out that he was the guy I saw when I first awoke. Jacob commented that it was odd to find Wilson in the security room since he didn't have security clearance. Wilson got extremely overly defensive about this, and my opinion of his trustworthiness drops significantly. He then said that we need to get out of there before Jacob mentioned that we need to find Miranda first. Wilson rebuked that idea by saying that the sector she was in was overrun with security mechs, and the only two logical explanations were that Miranda was dead or the traitor. It was at this point that I started to entertain the idea that Wilson was the actual traitor, and I told him that I found it odd that she would try to save me if she was indeed the traitor. I decided to keep a close eye on this a**hole.

Before we moved on towards the exit, Jacob reveals to me that they work for Cerberus, the same group that was responsible for Akuze and those experiements that I thwarted two years ago. This day kept getting better and better. Yet I kept my inital revulsion in check; I needed answers.

After dealing with the last of the security system, we finally reach the exit. Once we do, Wilson runs to the door and is instantly killed by Miranda when it opens. She reveals to Jacob and I that he was the traitor when Jacob responded in shock. As for me, I wasn't surprised at all, and I didn't waste a tear on that a**hole. She then tells me that we are on our way to her boss, a man who only goes by the title, "The Illusive Man." At this point, I wanted to ditch both of them and return to the Alliance and or the Citadel so I could get back to work. But I had no idea where "here" was, and it was doubtful that the shuttle lacked some type of identification system that would prevent non-cerberus personal from controling it. So, I had no choice but to go along with them.

Despite being an atheist, I started to wonder on our way to our destination if I was actually alive, or if this was some type of purgatory in the afterlife. If the latter, than God had a sick sense of humor.

Brad Shepard (Marksman Sentinel) and a fleet from the entire galaxy headed to Earth. Shepard, James, and Kaiden were supposed to go directly to the London FOB but got sidetracked when another shuttle was shot down and he decided to go destroy a Hades Cannon. The ground shook a lot each time the cannon fired, but they made their way to the downed shuttle, grabbed an M-920 Cain and nuked the cannon. Groundside Reaper forces converged on their location, but Anderson's shuttle picked them up before they were overwhelmed.

After saying goodbye to everyone without actually trying to say goodbye -- and sharing an intimate moment with his girlfriend Liara -- Shepard gave a lame speech to his crew and then made his way to No Man's Land. He took James and Kaiden with him, not wanting Liara anywhere near the tough fighting; he wanted to give the best chance of surviving.

After shooting his way through No Man's Land, Shepard finally made it to the Missile Battery. Because the company had been wiped out, it fell to him to fire the missiles at a Reaper Destroyer. So he fought off a bunch of Reaper ground troops and fired the missiles. Piece of cake. Then it was off to the beam where they would hitch a ride to the Citadel.

Except Harbinger screwed up their plans by dropping in and shooting everyone, including Shepard. But Shepard does not die easily (he has more medi-gel than anyone else), and he made his way to the beam and up to the Citadel, where there was lots of dead bodies, Anderson for some reason, a computer terminal in the weirdest of places, and The Indroctinated Man. Shepard managed to convince TIM to shoot himself (just like Saren), then floated up in the sky to talk to a weird glowy thing that offered him three choices: Destroy, Control, or Synthesis.

Brad Shepard decided to destroy the Reapers... but was so addled he walked straight ahead and picked Synthesis instead.

* * *

And with that, my final Shepard has completed the journey through the trilogy. I have a few more Shepards in the back of my mind, plus some ME3 NG+ with existing Shepards I want to get through, but I think I will lay Mass Effect to rest for several weeks or months while I do other things. I have a couple of books that have been sitting on my shelf for months (or years) that I should read.

After a crappy day at work I did this:

Spoiler

  • I really like the lighting in this mission. In fact I like the mission in general. The combat is quite satisfying, even though the actual prison layout makes no sense
  • ME2 can be quite gory
  • I really feel sorry for that technician
  • Jack bugs me as a character - the concept was good but the result was ultimately disappointing. Cured by penis with a guy, left in a weird limbo if a girl. Her ME3 transformation removes her uniqueness in way. Since I am playing a Paragon Shep, I think renegade Jack is not going to make it. Not done a playthrough without her yet

The Normandy was good to go, and in the course of the day we prepared to leave for the Cerberus Headquarters, Cronos Station.

I talked to Hackett, who told me that everything from now on will be moving forward only. No turning back. Yeah. I'm ready.

After my night with James I was strangely calm, focused, and I've found a bit of my confidence again. We'll get that Prothean VI and take down Cerberus in the process.

The Crucible is ready, only the Catalyst is missing. We can do this. We have to, there's no other way.

I tried to rest a bit until we arrived, but I had that dream again... I ran after the boy. Voices of the dead haunting me. Eve. And voices belonging to the ones that I killed. Wrex... Mordin...

I stopped. The boy had found another me, tightly embracing the kid, then both smiling at me from a distance. I saw flames rising from below... are we going to burn? Am I? Is this... a glimpse into the future?

I woke up and took a deep breath. I tried to shake the dream off, and I looked up to the window in my cabin. The peaceful sight calmed me a bit. I sat up on the bed, and EDI informed me we had arrived, so I got up and dressed, then went to the war room to see what the situation is. EDI arrived and wanted to accompany me on our next mission because of her knowledge about Cerberus.

Yes. That sounds reasonable and I told her to get ready.

I did wonder if it would not be a mistake to take James along, for the risk of both of us being distracted, but I trust him with my life and I think we're both professional enough to make this work and forget about what happened the night before.

I checked the situation on the bridge as we approached the station, and Joker was not too enthusiastic when he learned that EDI would tag along, but I told him to focus and that I'd take care of her.

After a bumpy shuttle crash into the station's hangar bay, James, EDI and I got out and killed off the first wave of resistance we met.

Cerberus then wanted to vent the hangar, and luckily EDI was right on insisting to come. She took care of our little problem with ease after we found the console.

We proceeded through the Headquarters, and along the way EDI told me about a console with data of interest to me while she handled a sealed door in that room.

Logs about... Project Lazarus, when Cerberus put me back together. It was the first time in a long time I thought about this again, and James asked me if I remembered anything from when I was in a coma. Not really...

I was also gently reminded how the Alliance did not help back then and I had no other choice but to play along with Cerberus. And then seeing again how the Illusive Man manipulated me by carefully handpicking a crew. How he used my friends to get me to work with him.

James showed some anger about the Illusive Man setting me up, getting me comfortable.

Yeah...

Well. We need to go. EDI got the door open and we pressed on. On our way I also learned that EDI was the Rogue VI on Luna... and that she helped us a great deal. It fascinates me how she could oppose Cerberus. I'm glad she did.

We soon arrived where they kept something I wish I wouldn't have seen again. The remains of the human Proto-Reaper I fought with Mordin and Miranda...

James asked what this thing is, and then defended me again, referring to everyone who doubted me, wishing they were here to see this now. It is nice to see he seems to value me a great deal.

This is no place to stay too long though, and after taking care of more Cerberus groups, we finally arrived at the location where the Prothean VI is kept.

Almost there...

EDI and James were a nice combo there imo. Pretty sure I fantasize again about James being a good fit, but damn, after the first wave in the hangar it really didn't take all too long during combat, at least for my standards! :D

What was not so great was... just when I wanted to use the pause menu to save right before Leng boy, the game crashed. Thank God it auto-saved right before. I hate when that happens. Bioware games are so buggy, it happened so many times to me already.

Also got a bit teary-eyed again. Listening back to identify the voices in Shep's dream...goddammit. This is too sad.

Here are some pictures from today :)

Claire Shepard (Adept w/ bonus Assault Rifle) went through her final moments of ME1. Picspam in spoilers.

Spoiler

- I prefer the Liara romance with a femshep.

- I will never not love Ilos. The best looking enviroment and atmosphere in the whole game (tied with Virmire). Too bad there wasn't a real boss fight there (which if I recall correctly, was planned but eventually scrapped)

- I love how bada*ss Garrus is in the final act when he's the more Renegade one of your companions.

- The Saren v2 battle is still the easiest boss fight in the whole game.

- The ending still leaves me feeling epic.

- The credits theme by Faunts is the sole reason I always let the credits roll completely.

Tonight Emma did this:

Spoiler

  • I think more could have been done with the level design here, make it really feel like you are fighting through scrapped ships
  • Jedore is hardly utilised as an enemy, I don't even know how she died this time. I think Miranda may have killed her, I didn't see her all fight
  • Okeer is a great character
  • I prefer the smart arse renegade dialogue with Miranda regarding storing Grunt, compared to the Paragon version. Especially the smirk she does. Oh well, good to see variation
