I thought a lot about ME while slogging my way through the Western Approach in DA:I. *sigh*
I'm currently playing DAI. I have to go meet Hawke and Stroud in the Approach. I might fight the 3 dragons in Emprise du Lion first.

I'm still only half way through DA Inquisition but I've started another play through of ME2 and currently hurtling towards the dead Reaper... ME2 is great for all the characters it introduces but I do miss Liara so I always get the Lair of the Shadow Broker done as soon as I can so I can just go back to Hagalaz (which is the name of a rune, the hail stone representing the cosmic seed, the destructive force of nature) and visit even though the conversation is a little one sided ![]()

I met Hawke and Loghain today! I keep thinking about another ME playthrough though so I might have to pause Inquisition and come back later. See, if I'd played ME when it first came out I wouldn't have this problem.
I have an ME3 playthrough I need to finish based on Vega's point of view that I've been meaning to finish. I'm thinking about finishing it tomorrow so I can start another ME playthrough and try to finish the DAI playthrough that I'm currently playing.

I like reading The Files of James Vega! It's still a coin toss between a male or female Shepherd, but I don't think I'm ready for the low EMS run. Or, maybe I'll go full Renegade and just be a ****** to everyone.
Here's a suggestion. Play renegade being a ding dong to everyone and keeping everyone alive. Once done, and you found it wasn't that bad, then give the low ems run a shot. Of course a low ems run can be done as a renegade or paragon.

So Ashley and Commander Satan got rid of their Black Widows in exchange for assault weapons. Good. My ears are still hurting from the booming. As we moved forward I kept asking myself why waste the time destroying the destroyer when sneaking by it to get to the beam would be easier. I believe it would be easier. Not sure if the Commander has the same thoughts.
Ok. I some uglies in my sights. Take that. And that. Get off my planet you loco's. I look over and see both Satan and her helper killing the uglies like its another day at the office. Maybe my next unit I get assigned to won't have women. These two are making me look bad.
More uglies to fight. Its getting tense. I see Ashley and Shepard take cover. This is new. Why are they taking cover? Oh crap. That's why. Ravager at 6'oclock. That was close. Yeah, yeah. Laugh it up you two. I could've been killed. I wonder if its too late to end my relationship with Ashley. Mmm. Maybe not. She would kill me.
Lets get my head back to fighting. We make it to the missiles. Hold off the uglies long enough to fire the missiles. Here they come. Lots of them. And screamers too. Fire. Reload. Man-o-man I'm using a lot of ammo. BOOM....BOOM. I see the ladies using grenades. Wait a minute. I got grenades. Ok. I can play that game. BOOM. Haha. Lets see you scream some more. Back to the missiles. FIRE.
With the destroyer destroyed, we head to the beam. I like for this to be t........what the heck? Crap. Looks like we'll walk the rest of the way. Hold that thought James. OH CRAP. A big reaper just landed. I knew this would happen. Like I said. It would've been easier to sneak past the reaper to get to the beam. Now we're going to run to the beam. This is bad. The soldiers are being vaporized before me. Oh no. Jump Ashley. She's hurt. What? Satan call's for the Normandy. Hey we can still fight.
Shepard tells Ashley to tell Samantha to setup the chessboard when she gets back. Samantha? Who the he..? Chess? You mean the comms woman? Steve played a game with her and lost. From what I heard she beat everyone. I never played her. I might have to. Or maybe not. Come on Ash. Lets get you to the medbay
Dr.Chakwas takes off Ashley's armor. She has a deep cut on her upper thigh and what looks to be a flesh wound on her abdomen. She's going to be ok. Let me clean up. I decide to head up to the CIC. I see Specialist Traynor at her station. She opens her omnitool. I step out of sight to watch. Why did she put her hand to her mouth? After a few minutes, I hear her say, yes ma'am. Who is she talking to? Better question is who is talking to her? Is it the Commander? What is she doing? What's with the pistol? She says, 'I'm headed that way. Are you sure about this? Yes ma'am'. Why is she walking towards the c**kpit? I follow her. She's not going to shoot Joker? Is she? She says, 'ok. Go ahead'. What? Go ahead with what?
That's Hackett telling all ships to leave. Oh crap. Traynor has the gun pointed at Jokers head telling him not to leave. What do I do? She turns to look at me. Oh crap. That look. I won't stop her. The lights in the c**kpit flicker for a few seconds. Oh no. Some kind of red wave is engulfing Earth. That doesn't look good. Traynor tells Joker to head back to the Citadel. Damn. I giant stream of red was just fired out of the Citadel. I think I have this figured out. I move forward and tell Joker its ok. Head to the Citadel.
Traynor tells me to meet her and Dr.Chakwas in the hangar. Is she the boss now? If I ignore her, I most likely will have to answer to Satan.
Moments later, I see Traynor and Dr.Chakwas walk out of the elevator. Traynor grabs Steve to take us to the location on her omnitool. Dr.Chakwas says Shepard vitals are irregular. What? She's alive. I asked Traynor who she was talking with while walking to the c**kpit. She had Dr.Chakwas implant a sensor into the back of the Commanders thigh that reads her vitals as well as a tracer. She installed a separate comms for her and the Commander to speak privately. She knew Joker would leave if Hackett ordered everyone to leave. Traynor said she would have no problem shooting Joker if she had to.
We get to the area Shepard is at. It looks like a building collapsed. Fortunately there's air. Over there says Traynor. Oh crap. Steve runs over to help me move the large piece of concrete. I'll be damned. Its Shepard. Traynor leans down and receives a big smile from the Commander. Apparently Traynor is the only one that has the power to make Satan smile. Steve and I lift her to the shuttle. Dr.Chakwas gives her a shot that knocks out the Commander. She will recover in time.
So ends my time helping Shepard fight the reapers. We do go on another mission, but that's another story. For now its getting late and someone is calling my name.
This is James Vega signing off
Melissa Shepard
The death of Shepard. Everyone bow their head for a moment of silence. OK. Done. I'M BACK. hahaha
meet Jacob
meet Wilson
Wilson had some breathing problems so Miranda added another hole in his head to help him breath. Unfortunately it was too late. He died
I meet TIM 'The tool man' Taylor from Home Improvement. Get it. Nevermind. I've never been very good with jokes. hahaha
Tali says hello. I say goodbye
Its Joker
I like my new ship
This Rupert Gardner guy I like.
I recruit Kasumi, Garrus, Mordin and Zaeed.
Currently on my way to recruit a krogan
Tali says hello. I say goodbye
Well, damn. Now that song is in my head.
Melissa Shepard
the krogan I was to get, died. I got one in a tank
I refuse to open the tank since I don't have a mop with me to clean up the liquid
That's Jack. She has a potty mouth. Yeah. Lets see if she can backup that tough talk
I meet the collectors. Just bugs with guns. What's next? Snakes with guns? hahaha. I made a funny
Is that a giant tick? Is that its version of Superman's heat vision except bluish in color?
Its Kaidan. He thinks I'm a traitor. Hmm. I should ask him that question. What answer would I get from him as to why he, the Allaince and the other squadmates made no effort to find a way to stop the reapers?
Go ahead and report back to Anderson. I'm going back to find a way to stop the collectors
I spent the better part of this morning transitioning from Windows 7 64 bit to Windows 10 64 bit. As many of you know anything about Microsoft is ever a seamless transition. I did manage to get in a number of multiplayer games in yesterday. In one particular game yesterday, playing my favorite N7 Paladin Sentinel, I actually played with three other gamers where we all actually played as a team. (I had never played with these gamers before yesterday.) It was absolutely a perfect game. It was also the first time that I ever got the top score in a game. Not too shabby for a 68 year old gamer on a PC keyboard. (I love using the shield.) Still, there are times when I find myself looking like a chicken with its head cut off failing around like I do, trying to take Geth down with the shield. Loads of fun to be had. :-D
Finished recording and cutting Vega's dialogue for Turian Platoon, now for some Turian Bomb replaying ![]()
I also got a funny screen shot, it's only a very short frame in the videos, but I accidentally paused right there in the cutting software and it is so damn creepy, haha.
Also finished the next piece on Vega and FemShep post-ending
More sappy stuff.
Btw, I think on the weekend I'm gonna start my next Trilogy run, yay! ![]()
Melissa Shepard
the krogan I was to get, died. I got one in a tank
The first time I played ME2 and Okeer died, I thought I had really screwed up badly somewhere. ![]()
In ME3 we are asked to find a lot of stuff to increase our galactic readiness. Ever wondered what much of it was? Well, here for you now is the interferometric array
Melissa Shepard
completed Mirandas' loyalty mission
completed Zaeeds' loyalty mission. workers saved
completed Mordins loyal mission. Maelon lives. data deleted
recruit Tali. Kal'Reegar ok
completed Garrus' loyalty mission. Sidonis dead
collectors are Protheans. its the same ship that destroyed my SR1
lets go get the IFF
Melissa Shepard
got the IFF. Too bad I couldn't take a tour of the reaper. I could've kept it and charge people money to tour the thing. hahaha
completed Jack's loyalty mission. Since she went to cause problems with Miranda, I sided with Miranda causing the potty mouth not to be loyal. Whatever. No big loss
got the hammerhead
the potty mouth is dead. I knew I should've got that armor for the ship. I'll remember to have the mechanic add it to the ship the next time we go for an oil change. hahaha
Jacob volunteered for the vents. He died. I liked that he stepped up to volunteer, but he should've knew better since he's not a tech guy
Mordin escorts the crew
the seekers sought out Tali and took her away
Kasumi isn't very good at leading
Zaeed stays to hold the line
Miranda and Garrus help me fight the terminator on steroids
Zaeed, Garrus, Miranda and Mordin survive
After a night of passion with the lovely Com Officer, Samantha Traynor, Commander Jenna Shepard sat in her quarters sipping her Earl Grey Tea. Alone she reminisced about those reoccurring dreams she has been having since leaving earth. Watching that little boy die while trying to escape in the shuttle far and away from the Reapers. She felt guilty as hell leaving earth. But, she thought this nightmare was different in that she heard a whisper she remembered hearing in the past. A whisper she heard as a child, no older than the boy she watched die. It was the faint whisper of a father she barely remembered.
Her father, Lieutenant Christopher Shepard, an Earth born from Vancouver, BC, was a graduate of the Alliance Ascension Program like herself. It was on the Carrier Enterprise where Jenna’s mother and father had met.
Her thoughts lingered a moment. She shook it off and headed off the gun battery to talk with Garrus. “Garrus will settle me down, she thought. He’s good at that.”

Spoiler
- Closing the set of shutter doors to the right (the loading bay) gets tedious fast. I was trying to hurry and played like it was ME3 rather than ME2 meaning I kept getting caught in the open. Annoying
- I used the renegade interrupt on Kafka as I thought it was a realsitic thing for Shep to do. It's not like Paragon Shep has any sympathy towards Mercs, and she is supposed to be a soldier after all
- When you know it is Garrus who awaits the scene really loses its impact
- How the hell does everyone get your email address
- The Mercs plan really makes no sense. Why not just attack from above (even just using skycars!) and bum rush across the bridge all at once? Garrus can only target one thing at a time
- Why would all the Merc leaders tell Shep their plans. She is only muscle for hire
- All in all one of the weaker missions in ME2
I'm CMDR Malbek in elite, hit me with a friend request if you're so inclined. Currently my CMDR is exploring a couple of thousand LY from settled space, but I get back from time to time.
I'd have to agree on the Garrus mission, other than ganking sergeant kafka it's one of my least favorites alongside Mordin's recruitment. I don't consider my ME2 playthru free until I'm off Omega.

Started a playthrough where Tali, Mordin and Legion were killed of via unchecking a checkbox in the save file with the ME:3 save game editor, which is, in Grunt's words, "a bad way to go". Speedrun, finished Cerberus Coup, surprisingly running into Conrad Verner in the refugee camps. Alright, that's also in the Wiki (http://masseffect.wi...i/Conrad_Verner), but what really surprised both Conrad and me was that Shepard told him they were building "a secret Prothean dark energy weapon", which then leads to the revelation that Conrad wrote a dissertation! and that it was about dark energy.
Hm. Maybe BioWare needs a search&replace function for whatever software they are using to write the dialogues ![]()
After engineer Marika Shepard let her drone and turret successfully finish off her clone (who never seemed to use either), she is now frustrated at how difficult it is as an engineer to break the scoreboard at the Armax Arsenal Arena, if you can't employ biotic explosions, as her sentinel alter ego always did. But she does want to win the awesome (and sexy) cerberus spirit armor before venturing out to meet the Quarians.
With Tali and Legion dead, one can at least look good, right?
Edit:
P.S.: As themikefest recommended here: http://forum.bioware...ing/?p=19758363,
Marika will take James and Liara to the Dreadnought.

Fire explosions are much more sexy than biotic explosions. ![]()

Why should they replace dark energy?
Dark energy is the "thing" that enables the use of mass effect through manipulating element zero.

AFAIK it is the only dialogue where the crucible is labeled as a "dark energy" weapon, which seems like a remainder of a concept that was scrapped. It's just strange that neither Hackett nor Liara nor anyone else ever uses theses words in connection with the crucible.
Originally, I thought it is a remnant of Drew's "dark energy ending" (see e.g. http://forum.bioware...-energy-ending/), but that's probably wrong, because that concept was seemingly abandoned before the ME:3 dialogue for Conrad Verner was written? I'm not sure.

I would guess that it's along the lines of Bioware's habit of assuming that everyone will read the codex and know how mass effect works, even when hardly anyone in the game ever talks about it.
