Now I know how a Salarian on crack acts like. Crazy battle at close quarters.

Its good to know that all npcs can make precise shots with the tempest. It seemed like a cheap exploit, but now that I know that the cpu can benefit from it the guilt is gone.

Talking about guilt, it seems you really wanted to troll poor Kaidan. Dressed as a cerberus agent and in company of a cerberus illegal AI dressed in similar fashion to Miranda that just happens to now occupy the same robotic body that nearly killed Kaidan a short time ago.

I guess the only way to make things worse was if you were using a female shepard in ME1, romancing kaidan, and then went with Garrus in ME2 and appeared with both Edi and Garrus .

I just edited my game to increase the difficulty to match a mixture between platinum difficulty and the spectre dificulity mod, and change it so that it plays like me2. Here is a video, I may record the playthrough if people deem it interesting to watch.

Finished Jacob's loyalty tonight (yeah, I know I said I was going to Illium, but I always go to Illium).

I've got a lot of thoughts on this mission, but imgur is being an arse and not loading things at the moment so it'll have to wait.

After narrowly avoiding being sync-killed by a Phantom I had to explain to Kaidan why I was wearing Cerberus armor.

Thanks for this Cap - now I know where there are even more credits. Kaching.

So tonight I finished off this:

These two are pretty awesome. I like the one with the two guards standing next to each other after you leave Hawke's quarters as well.

For the record, I like all three SMGs in ME2. Like the shotguns, they are a pretty well balanced weapon group.

That one was done by waiting for Kasumi to explain about one of the objects (with Shep in front of her, so she turns her head to look), then freecamming the view up close (but far enough away that the other prompts don't show).

This is why it takes me ages to play through the trilogy; I swore this time would be different but here I am again.. :P

Today I pretty much cleaned up Gavin Archer's mess of a project(What was that guy thinking trying to reprrogam geth using a human?) I don't think I'll ever understand that guy thinks my Shepard. "Geth are dangerouis enough without giving them more intelligence". Recruited this fierce Biotic monster known only as Jack for the team. Drove the collectors off of Horizon and in doing so saving Kaiden's butt again as well as Traynor's. I've rounded things up by helping Miranda save her sister.

I imported Nef (who always picks only the renegade option)
Spoiler

Anderson sent me to the citadel to get counsel support for Earth. (Yeah I could see that happening)
Then Hackett said to go via Mars to pick up Dr T'Soni, who had uncovered some Prothean data that could be useful.
The counsel meeting on the citadel went as expected, but at least they gave me back my spectre status.
If I can rescue the Turian Primarch, I can bypass the counsel & get the Turians to help us.
When we got to Menae, the Primarch was already dead, and Garrus Vakarian seemed to be in charge. (I'm starting to wonder how much use the Turians will be to us.)
Anyway, we picked up Victus (the next in line for Primarch) & he agreed to help Earth provided we could get Krogan support for Palaven.
Back on the Normandy I did the rounds to meet the team and see what the alliance had done to my ship.
I was wearing the dress Kasumi had given me and the shuttle pilot didn't even notice my cleavage, so I think he must be gay.
Not that I'm into guys, but you know, a girl likes to be noticed.
Lieutenant Vega forgot his place, but I quickly put him back in his box. (with a bit of discipline he just might make a good soldier)
Spoiler

I received an email from Aria T'Loak, who wanted to meet me at a nightclub.
I thought I was in there, so I put politics aside and headed back to the citadel.
Turned out it was just business on her mind, but it might work out in our favour so I went along with it.
First up I pulled rank and got Bailey to release Jona Sederis, giving us the Eclipse mercs.
I removed Kreete, & put Gryll in charge of the Bloodpack.
A Turian General was causing the Blue Suns grief. I couldn't convince him to see the big picture, so I took him out.
With the Blue Suns on side, we were finally getting somewhere.
At a bar on the Presidium I run into the Asari Matriarch barmaid from Illium, we chatted, I was getting moist, but she was more interested in Dr T'Soni.
Turns out she is her father. I told Liara about her, but of course she already knew.
She wasn't interested it talking to her thou.
Pity she might have been good to have on side.
Back to the war.
I convened a meeting with the Primarch Victus, the Solarian Dalatrass, and a Gorilla named Urgnot Wreave, who claimed to speak for the Krogan.
He said he'd help the Turians, but only if we cured the genophage (It just keeps getting better)
I though we had put an end to a genophage cure when we killed Maelon and destroyed his research data, but apparently Clan Weyrloc Guld had him experimenting on Urgnot females and he had succeeded in curing a few, only to have them get loose.
Fortunately a Salarian team found them and whipped them off to Sur'Kesh before they could procreate.
Somehow this Wreave had found out about them and ignored the Dalatrass's half hearted denial.
With these immune females holding the only chance of a cure, we headed for the Salarian STG base....

On arrival at Sur'Kesh we were denied landing approval.
Wreave went all bloodrage and wanted to take on the base single handed.
I demanded an apology from the Salarian officer and he quickly backed down and offered one.
I'd like to think it was my air of authority, but it may have been the Krogan with a shotgun.
While waiting for Wiks to get me clearance to go below, I spoke with a Lieutenant Tolan.
He didn't think curing the genophage was a particularly good idea,
and while I tended to agree with him, I needed it and so it was going to happen.
We no sooner got the go ahead, when base wide alarms sounded.
I figured it was the reapers, and that we should grab the females and get the hell out of there.
Downstairs I run into a familiar face, & the source of Wreave's information.
Seems Mordin Solus had gone further over the edge & was encouraging this Wreave to seek a cure.
Alright this is getting too "wall of text" so suffice to say Cerberus was there, a big firefight took place and yada yada yada,
we rescued the one surviving female and Mordin came on board the Normandy and began working on a cure.
My new comms specialist Samatha Traynor is quite a looker, but can she talk.
I told her I wasn't interested in her oral hygein problems and just to do her job.
Which seemed to work, because while I was standing at the CIC, imagining what she would look like in the shower,
she said she had found something suspicious in a reply to a distress signal from Grissom Academy.
I said we haven't got time to worry about a few school students, but then she said Cerberus was involved, so I thought we had better look into it.
She was right, and Cerberus were already there when we got there.
We met up with Kahlee Sanders (an old flame of Anderson's) when she got word that Cerberus had a group of students trapped in Orian Hall.
Upon entering Orian Hall I was met by Jack, a member of my old team, who had apparently gone from a murdering pirate vandal, to a school teacher.
She said she had no idea the "queen of the girl scouts would show up" (This surprised me, because I had assumed she would only say that to a Paragon Shepard)
Then she risked life and limb, by punching me on the jaw.
I let it slip, because she had saved us from the seeker swarms on the collector base.
Anyway, we took out the Cerberus troupes and gained a few powerful biotics for front line artillery work.
Anderson was pretty pleased that we saved Ms Sanders, so that is one less favour I owe him. (but who's counting)
I thought of saying good work to Traynor, but I didn't want her to get a big head, or start talking again.

I can't remember where this screenshot was from, but I didn't have any from Grissom, so I'll stick it here.

Spoiler

I promise from now on, I'll just stick to screenshots with one line descriptions.

Looks like Thessia to me. Talking to the shotgun asari.

Yes, your probably right, I had gone all sinister black armour by then.

I was pleasantly surprised that I could use the red renegade option to make Mordin abandon the genophage cure.
I would have hated to shoot him after we had been through so much.
Anyway, making Wreave believe we had cured the genophage got Krogan boots on Palaven.
That wasn't enough for Victus thou.
He still wanted me to save some members of the 9th platoon that had gone down on Tuchunka.
On route I found that the missing squad leader was Victus' son.
We saved his butt, but he wanted to abandon his mission. I told him to kick some heads & get his squad to do their duty.
But he was down quite a few men, so Liara, Vega, & I went along as backup.
Spoiler

I was starting to feel like Victus' ****** when he asked me to look into Din Korlack, the Volus Ambassador.
He believed he was passing on classified info to Cerberus.
I tracked him to an apartment in the presidium, by the time I got there Zaeed Massani had already disposed of the Cerberus guards.
Zaeed managed to convince the Volus to give us the name of the endangered Turian colony & put the Volus bombing fleet at our disposal.
Spoiler

Liara got a call from someone at Asari high command, & they wanted us to check out a monastery on Kallina.
Inside the place was a little creepy, with signs of recent battle & loud ear piecing shrills.
On a computer terminal I found that a superintendent Jethra had intercepted & deleted emails to a Rila & Falere from their sister Mirala.
We came across the body of an Asari commando, her PDA had a farewell message for her bondmate Weshra and a tracking locater, to find her on the Citadel.
Then we came face to face with the source of the screeching & it was hard to take down.
a little further on we run into an Asari being pursued by a cannibal, which we dispatched.
She said her name was Falere & she was an Ardat Yakshi, then asked us to save her sister Rila, in the great hall.
We get to the great hall in time to see Falere trying to wake her sister.
But we are too late to save Rila, as the reapers had already begun to turn her into a banshee.
On waking she attacked her sister. Falare knocked Rila out & we start looking for a detonator to set off the bomb the commandos had bought.
Before we can find it, more banshees & assorted reaper forces attack.
Once we have cleared the room, Rila regains her senses & knows what she has to do. Falere can't except the situation and I have to drag her out.
After regaining her composure, Falere asks us to leave her there, & says that if the reapers return, they will not take her alive.
But I don't trust her to be as strong as Rila & decide it's safer to send her to be with her sister.
Spoiler

Asari High Command was pleased with how we resolved their problem and assigned to us Captain Coreen Lemaes & her commando squad.
Back on the Normandy, going through Liara's terminal I realise that my old squadmate Morinth, is actually Rila & Falere's sister Mirala.
I'll inform Morinth of their deaths when next I see her, but I won't mention how Falere died.

From the cage of Furball, The Space Hamster

Name - Furball

origin - citadelborn/ruthless

class - soldier

powers - +25% armor penetration when activated when biting foot, +10% louder squeak when activated while running from the enemy, +50% fur armor when activated while being petted, +40% turbo speed when activated while running

owner - Kristie Shepard

My owner said she would be back. Squeak, squeak. I'm getting tired running around the ship avoiding being seen. Squeak, squeak. Ok. The coast is clear. There's that woman again. The one with the weird accent. She also smells funny.  I think she knows I'm here. She always stops what she's doing to see if she's being watched. I'm pushing my luck being this close. Oh crap. I think she saw me. Run. Activating turbo speed. Ha. Can't catch me.

This guy is doing something to the hangar. He looks sad. My owner had a similiar look after that big mission. Something about bugs. Oh yeah. The collectors. Every time I come down here, he's always working on something. He's got something in his hand that makes sparks. I don't want to get near that.

That's the pilot. My owner calls him Joker. She never liked him. I don't blame her. He tells some really bad jokes. It must be a human thing. He also keeps talking to that voice. Something called edi. My owner told me she didn't like having the thing on the ship. Squeak, squeak.

What was that? Are we moving? Who is that? Some female with dark hair telling Joker to get the ship in the air. Hold on. Where's my owner? No. I can't leave. Where's my owner? She promised she would be back.  This is a job for Furball. Activating bite-to-foot power. Haha. Oh crap. Run. Yes. Turbo speed to the rescue. That dark haired woman will have a sore foot in the morning. Squeak, squeak.

The door is opening. Its my owner. I would go meet her, but that dark haired woman is there. Shoot her owner. She wanted to leave without you. Squeak, squeak.  Over here owner. Who I'm I kidding? She can't see me. Why is she putting on armor? Another mission I guess. Who's the bumpy human guy? Never seen that before. Humans are weird looking. They get in the shuttle. Take me with you owner. I can be a squadmate. Too late. She's gone.

She's back. What's that blue thing? It doesn't look human. My owner is carrying the dark haired woman. Yes. You beat her up for chasing me? Excellent. I knew I like you owner. Whats that thing the bumpy guy is carrying? Squeak, squeak.

I'm just going to hide down here until things settle down.

Yes. There she is. She picks me up and pets me. Time to activated the 40% increase in armor. Why does she have to be so rough? She missed me and apologizes for leaving me on the ship. She tells me the Alliance locked her up. I'll take care of this. I will attack the Alliance. Nobody keeps me away from my owner. I will have to send an email to the Hamster community.  She tells me the reapers have arrived and are destroying Earth. She's sad. Don't worry owner. Your little Furball is here if you need a shoulder to cry on.

She heads downstairs to meet her crew. I follow through all the secret compartments I found. She's talking to the woman with the weird accent and smells funny. Why is my owner smiling? Maybe she's going to get rid of the woman because she smells funny. Excellent. My nostrils will thank her. Squeak, squeak.

She talks with the blue something. I don't know what that is. Never seen that before. Wait a minute. Before my owner got me, I remember the store owner looked like that blue one. My owner calls her Liara. Is that her name or the species? I won't worry about it. What's with all the flashy squares on the wall? Oh crap. What's that floating.....ball looking thing? I just need to stay close to my owner. She will protect me.

We head down to the hangar. So the guy that looks sad is Steve. He sounds ok. He will be flying my owner everywhere. I got my eye on you pal. You have to answer to me if she gets hurt. Squeak, squeak.

The lumpy guy is James. He wants to dance. Good luck with that. What? She will? Wait a minute. Is that what you call dancing? You humans are weird. OHHH. Nice one owner. She hit the lumpy guy. What's that coming out of his nose. Squeak, squeak.  I wouldn't want to be human. Too many weird things they do.

She tells me that we're headed to Menae. A moon near the Turian homeworld. Is that suppose to mean something? I got it. Getting help for your homeworld. She sits down in her chair to read and plays Alvin and the Chipmunks movie for me. Its not a bad movie. Its just I'm not as young as I use to be to watch cartoons anymore

My owner looks tired. She sits at her terminal to type in her report. She has me sit by the hologrphic keyboard. She taught me how to read. Ok. Lets see. She got the Primarch. The turians will help if she is able to get the Krogan to help the turians fighting the reapers on Palaven. We also have a new squadmate. A turian named Garrus. I've going to have to checkout this Garrus squadmate.

She tells me that we're heading back to the Citadel to see Ashley. Who the heck is Ashley? Is that the dark haired woman who's foot I bit? hahaha. I hope you know what you're doing owner. I don't trust her. She gives me a smile and lies down to take a nap. Lets check on this Garrus.

Aha. Wait a minute. That Garrus. Yeah I remember him. He was helping my owner deal with the bugs, I mean collectors. Whatever. Squeak, squeak. Who's he talking to over the intercom? And there it is. Calibrations. Yeah. What would a day be like without hearing that word?

I guess I'll head back up to the cabin and take a nap myself. All this running around the ship has made me tired

However, last night I did this:

Spoiler

  • Right. I'll say it now. I bloody love this mission.
  • Yes, you read that: I do
  • What I like about it is the exceptionally creepy undertones it has; hints of rape, coercion, abuse of power and a really weird cult like atmosphere. It also shows a side to Jacob that should have been explored more, he has a real burning intensity to him during this mission. It's such a shame that for the rest of ME2 (and 3) he is so bland. Jacob comes across as bland because he is the only normal person on a ship full of genetic freaks, genii and galactic bad assess. It's a shame as he had potential
  • I do feel that they should have hinted at the horrific side of it more though, it does sort of just wash over some of the other aspects (as best shown by one of the audio logs where an officer talks about being able to force himself on someone who once detested him). I feel like it tiptoed around it a bit; the reaction to Jacob turning up at the camp should have been portrayed with a more violent reaction form the women
  • Even worse it has the compulsion to throw in combat sections just in case the player gets bored (a real problem with ME2). Again, like other missions (Horizon for example) less would really have been more
  • The paragon ending to this (his Dad going to jail) is, to be frank, ****. The renegade option (which I normally take) is so much more fitting for 1) his crimes and 2) the actions of a (former) SPECTRE operating in the Terminus Systems
  • The interaction between Jacob and Miranda also hints at something greater which is, again, dropped. More missed potential
  • I do, however, feel it is rather unfortunate that the only Black member of the crew has an absent father who turns out to be a serial rapist. That just strikes me as.. problematic

The worst thing about playing a full Renegade Shep, is there is no romance options.
Poor Nef thought about sex a lot, but always woke up alone.

You done good child.

I like some of the ideas in this mission but it has some problems being believable. I like, as Smudboy pointed out, that Ronald not recognizing Jacob, whom the women recognize as looking just like Ronald, is a metaphor for how far Ronald is from the man who taught Jacob morals. He doesn't recognize his old self.

The big lore problem is how they have thermal clip guns. The big story problem is how the officers died one at a time and nobody realized what was going on. And the big character problem is that we need this for Jacob's loyalty when he tells us he's resolved his feelings and is just curious.

Jacob is also the only LI to abandon you for someone else. If I actually liked Jacob, I might be bothered, but I actually like it in a way because you can dump your LI from the first game the same way. I don't really have the problem you do though. Jacob turned out well by contrast.

John Shepard continued:

1. Traynor located some ex-Cerberus scientists, so John decided to pay them a visit. Apparently, Cerberus also decided to visit. Cerberus and John hate each other so they fought until only John was left standing. Met Jacob; he still has not learned to put on armor when fighting. Fixed the satellite communications then helped the scientists escape. Score another victory for the Alliance.

2. Landed on Eden Prime to investigate a Prothean artifact that Cerberus dug up, but it turned out to be an actual Prothean in stasis. Sweet. Slaughtered Cerberus forces that tried to reclaim the Prothean, discovered how to open the pod, then unfroze the Prothean popsicle, The Prothean was not too happy, but I am sure his mood will improve over time.

3. Rescued a Turian platoon that crashed trying to complete a secret mission. Found out their mission was to disable a Cerberus bomb.

4. Okay, so that bomb turned out to be an old Turian bomb. No problem, the objective is still the same: kill Cerberus (easy peasy) and disable the bomb. Objective completed but the Turians all died in the process. Too bad.

I finished my latest trilogy run last night and I don't really remember much of what happened in the third game. I mean I know I enjoyed it but for the life of me can't remember much about it.

There are the big moments of course such as Mordin on Tuchanka but the rest of the game has just kind of blended together, whereas the other two games remain quite clear in my mind.

Ah well I just got a email from Joker about meeting up, so I think I'll go and see what is up with that.

From the cage of Furball, The Space Hamster

Nice. My owner got me a nice lawn chair to relax. Got me a bag of sunflower seeds. And some very expensive swiss cheese. Look at that. Is that a bottle of wine for me? My owner understands. Keep the Furball happy. Last but not least, the latest copy of Playboy Space Hamster. When all this is over, I'm going have to find a Mrs. Furball.

My owner tells me we're headed to Sur'Kesh. Run along owner. I'm going to relax in my lawn chair drinking wine and eating cheese while checking out Playmate of the Year Space Hamster. I need to go on SHSN(Space Hamster Social Network) and let my group know I'm living the good life. They'll be so jealous. Squeak, squeak.

I decide to sneak to the medbay to do some sightseeing. Is that Mordin? My owner likes him. He's not bad. Talks too fast. What is that thing over in the corner? Here's comes my owner. Whoa? What is this big thing? Wreav? You know him owner? And the other is Eve. A female? Its your ship owner, but I would be careful who you invite on the Normandy.

While my owner is doing whatever at some school, I watch the woman with the funny smell. Today she doesn't smell as bad. Do humans smell differently over time? My owner has smelled about the same since she got me. Maybe its because I'm use to her smell. Humans are strange. I wonder what this galaxy would be like if space hamsters ruled it? Haha. Squeak, squeak. Hey. A space hamster can dream can't he?

Looks like things went well. My owner mentions everyone from the school is alive. She also told me if it wasn't for the smelly woman, those students may of been killed or worse. Is it me or does my owner like the smelly woman? I thought she was going to throw her off the ship for being stinky.

So were on our way back to the Citadel to get supplies and to see someone called Miranda. I remember her. She gave me the chills. Whatever. I'm going back to my cage to take a nap.
