Did something else tonight - the French President of the United States saved Christmas.

Spoiler

I swear the writing in this series is better sometimes than anything Bioware produces - yeah it doesn't take it self seriously but it is consistently amusing. Especially when you are French.

After Liara had rather unsuccessfully tried to make more sense of the cipher I just got from Shiala, I dismissed the crew, but Ashley and Liara confronted me about my flirting with both of them. Should've seen that coming, huh. Girls back home never gave me any trouble, but then they never were packed together in a ship...

Well, I told them we can resolve this. Both acted really jealous and showed off their claws, especially Ash, and I have to admit it is a quite pleasant feeling having two girls fight over me. But what can I do, I had to choose. I like Liara, she's adorable and very cute, but Ash... damn, that girl's got fire, and I can only imagine what it's like to get into the good stuff with her. So I had to disappoint Liara.

I checked up on her though, and the rest of the crew, and got invited to a drink by Ash... and the promise of having something to look forward to. Surely like the sound of that. But work called way too soon.

Kaidan, Liara and I followed a distress call to find some more thorian creepers inside a facility. Thought we were done with those. But as it turned out, ExoGeni performed experiments... of course the ones responsible were present, safely hidden away, and didn't want to surrender. Not without a fight. They're all dead now.

Next we boarded a derelict ship, the MSV Cornucopia, had to fight a lot of husks, the crew... turned into those creatures by the spiky things the geth used back on Eden Prime. Ugh.

And it just kept getting better. We went to investigate a colony, but... the sad truth is that the people there were turned into husks as well. Cerberus... what is up with those people? Deliberately infecting human colonies? Can't wrap my head around that.

Kaidan and I picked up Tali and we eliminated the geth inside the Armstrong cluster, no way we can allow them to take over any more systems from there. We had to face a lot of these robot bastards, but in the end we also found some data that could be valuable for Tali's pilgrimage. Nice.

I also did Hackett some favours, looked for a lost data module and dealt with a Rogue VI on the moon. Thanks to Tali's and my hacking we got the job done quick without any major trouble.

And now it's time to go to Virmire. I wonder what we'll find there.

Haha, when I tried out the Liara/Ash confrontation dialogue options because I had never seen them before, I found it quite amusing that asking why I can't continue with both of them results in Ash leaving, while Liara thanked me I chose her... um... ok. Sure, Liara. You always were a bit weird :D

There's not that much left anymore in ME1 now, did most side quests and only have Virmire and Ilos left before going back to the Citadel for the final push.

After some discussion with cap here a while back, I want to try out a Slam Soldier then in ME2, super-curious how that's gonna be (maybe I'll even carry it over to ME3 then if I have fun with it). I was also playing around with the idea to focus on Cryo Ammo a bit more, because frozen targets should work quite well with Slam too, I guess?

Anyway, took some more screenshots again ^_^

I take it you are using hacking as your bonus power.

It works the same way with Kaidan. If you say "why not both?" then Kaidan storms off and you end up with Liara. I accidentally romanced Liara once this way when I had been planning on romancing Kaidan.

My idea with cryo ammo (not my idea, really, just something I saw suggested that made sense) is to go with squad cryo for crowd control, while Shepard uses inferno ammo for his own weapons.

Tonight Sandra helped Samara put an end to Morinth, stopped the Geth from crashing a hijacked freighter into a colony, reunited with Wrex, killed a thresher maw on foot with Grunt, and helped Mordin track down Maelan and put an end to Maelan's experiments but kept his data so the Krogan can be helped in the future.  Oh and most importantly when she got back to the Normandy Sandra changed up the color scheme on her armor (important stuff).

Hey, guys!

It’s me, the random person that posted about their character Reyes Shepard back in August and before that back in March or February or something! I somehow have huge gaps in this playthrough, mostly because college is stressing me out. Here’s the last post I made in case anyone wants a short reminder of where I left off.

I’ll quickly try to catch up to where I am right now. I had some notes on Mordin’s loyalty mission that where really lengthy, but I don’t want to bother with that old stuff anymore, so here’s the short version:

Reyes and crew found out that Maelon was apparently held hostage by clan Weyrloc in an old hospital, so they went there, killed everything that opposed them, saving a krogan scout in the process and eventually arriving at Maelon’s laboratory. Turned out Maelon voluntarily helped the krogan to find a cure for the Genophage. Mordin decided to kill him for his inhumane experiments on krogans and humans alike, then deleted Maelon’s data on Shepard’s advice. After seeing Tuchanka with her own eyes, she was more convinced than ever that the Genophage was a necessary measure. She partially understood the doubts about his creation that Mordin had shown throughout the mission, but in the end, it was like Mordin told his former apprentice: a large population of Krogan would always lead to war, so it didn’t matter whether the Genophage was ethically wrong or not. Although they both agreed about its necessity, Reyes could also relate to his wish to not have been the one who had to get his hands dirty in its development and deployment. She had been the one doing the alliance’s dirty work again and again, so just like Mordin she couldn’t enjoy the the luxury of a quiet conscience. In his case, someone else would have gotten it wrong, so it had to be him.

Finally leaving the tense atmosphere on Tuchanka was a relief for the whole crew and Reyes took some time in-between missions to talk to some of them. Mordin seemed impressed by Maelon’s courage despite the circumstances, but didn’t regret killing him, while Grunt appeared to be more than happy with his new clan and eager to fight. Reyes told him to keep it together until their next clash with the collectors and then went to chat with Doctor Chakwas, who promised to organize the booze the next time they were going to get drunk. Headcanon: Zaeed also showed his face and casually chatted Karin up, while trying to get in on the next booze-up.

The Normandy’s next stops where a husk infested mine and a digging site with a prothean beacon that had been taken over by Blue Sun mercenaries. After that the crew followed Jacob’s lead about his long lost father and eventually found him in a situation that got him into an alliance prison for the rest of his pathetic life. It wasn’t pretty, but at least part of his ship’s crew could be saved and Jacob seemed to take it rather well. Apparently there had also been some sort of love story between him and Miranda, but Reyes wasn’t too interested in finding out about that.

Next destination was the planet Aite, where yet another failed Cerberus experiment was awaiting them. Reyes took along Miranda to make sure they had full cooperation by the Cerberus scientist and got access to everything essential. Also Jack because she would probably love the chance to clean up another one of those Cerberus hellholes and laugh at their scientists’ demise. The lead scientist filled them in on what had happened, so they went off in the Hammerhead in order to unlock the Atlas base where the scientist’s brother David had apparently turned into some sort of VI hybrid gone rogue.

----
I also wanted to mention how much heavier the choice whether to destroy Maelon’s data or not feels when you know that you’re basically killing Eve in that very second. Dammit, the next visit to Tuchanka’s gonna be harsh in this playthrough… for various reasons. :crying:

Virmire surely got my blood pumping, a lot more has happened than I ever could've imagined...

We cleared our way to the salarian camp and met up with their captain, Kirrahe. We learned that Saren uses the facility here to create a krogan army, by somehow using a cure for the genophage. Unfortunately Wrex heard that, and the plan to destroy this place. It got him upset, but somehow I managed to talk him down. I don't think I've been that angry in a while and I let it show. I never should've brought Wrex on board. But at least he stood down.

After resolving this we could follow Kirrahe's plan to split up our teams. I hesitated, but sent Ash with the salarians so Kaidan could set up a nuke Kirrahe planned to place here. Kaidan's tech knowledge will come in handy here, so... ah, sh*t. You better make it out alive, Williams.

Everything went according to plan and we supported Kirrahe and his team as best as we could from the other side, and inside the facility we eventually found another beacon. And even more... I actually talked to Sovereign, the big ship. It spouted some strange things, acting all superior, and I didn't really find out what the hell it wants, but we'll get to you, in time.

We soon arrived at the bomb site, Kaidan getting ready to set it up. Ash and the salarians were in trouble, so I took Tali and Liara and we went to get to her. But the geth were crossing our plans. They flew to the bomb site and Kaidan said they'd soon overrun the place, and that he armed the nuke. Woah, okay. It is set, and I guess... this is goodbye, my friend. Glad to have known and served with you. Now that the bomb was already set I went to get Ash and the salarians as fast as possible... We have to get out of here before it explodes.

But before we could, Saren decided to show up. We talked for a while, then we fought, and he managed to get close to me and grab me. Luckily he was distracted for a short moment so my fist met his face. Take that, bastard. He fled, and the Normandy picked all of us up, heading towards safety before the nuke set off.

Ash felt bad she survived, but... Kaidan did this for all of us. He won't be forgotten.

Liara and I joined our minds again, this time with results. We knew our next destination, where the conduit is. Ilos...

We went to see the Council to listen to what they had decided to do against Saren. Almost nothing... I said I'd follow him to Ilos, but instead of backing me, Udina sided with the Council, and to make it worse... the Normandy's grounded. Just great. F*cking politicians. How can they still be so blind? I was frustrated, but Ash came by and lifted my mood a great deal. We almost kissed, I could already feel her breath on my lips. And then Joker had to ruin it. Thanks, buddy. Oh well. At least he brought news that Anderson wanted to see us at Flux.

I wasn't prepared for what Anderson proposed. He actually wants us to steal the Normandy! Uh... yeah, ok. It's not like we have a backup plan. So we made our way back to the Normandy as quick as possible while Anderson broke into Udina's office to override the lockdown.

And he did it, he actually did it! So, that's it. I officially stole an Alliance ship.

I tried to work while we made our trip to Ilos, but Ash came by and kinda... distracted me. I finally got to see her stunning body, her beautiful womanly curves. Damn. It felt so good to sleep with someone again. Has been quite a while. But it was worth the wait, Ash definitely knows how to make a man go crazy. A shame it ended too soon, but Ilos awaited. Ash's promise of more bedtime to come in the back of my mind. My body's definitely ready for this...

Boy oh boy, that night with Ash was so perfect for Idan, it actually had me laugh because I could totally see him reacting like that :D

And... so, here I am, leaving Kaidan behind. I actually did it.

Pictures! (Lots this time)

Tonight Sandra went to the Citadel along with Thane and Garrus, there she helped Thane stop an assasination of a Turian politician that in all honestly probably deserved to get capped but she and Thane helped stopped Thane's son from going down a dark path.  Then she helped Garrus track down Sidonis who had sold out Garrus and his squad on Omega and she talked Garrus down from killing Sidonis, so she also helped Garrus not to head down a darker path.

Some pictures from tonight.

Soo, i just started skimming through the last 30 pages of this thread. I missed a lot of stuff apparently, but that's to be suspected if you don't follow a popular thread like this for about 3 months. :pinched:

@fraggle: I especially enjoyed reading your last few posts about Hannah's playthrough, those were very well written and emotional. I didn't mind the length at all, I tend write pretty long stuff as well and I believe I have way more boring rambling in there. :P I think it's understandable that you went for a more "sappy", happy ending than originally intended. Writing a sad ending after getting so invested in one particular playthrough and character is hard. We'll see if I stay strong in that regard.

Your James/Shepard fanarts looked amazing as well, btw.

I also just went searching for my first post in this topic and found it on page 323, written March 23rd. I wonder how many playthroughs themikefest completed since then. I managed to get from the first third of ME1 to the last third of ME2. :P

Finished Idan's ME1 run! :)

Liara, Tali and I touched down on Ilos, Saren slipping through our fingers by only a few moments. Bastard sealed the doors behind him. Fighting through geth we were able to find the console to reopen the doors and we returned to the Mako to continue our way. We saw a lot of pods on both sides of us, creepy to think there were living beings in there... or at least once.

We drove until we were blocked by some kind of barrier. Our only way left led to a Prothean VI, Vigil. It told us about Sovereign's and Saren's plan, how the Prothean Empire crashed down thanks to the Reapers and offered us a data file with which we could override the Citadel controls to stop Saren from getting Sovereign access to the station.

We proceeded and made it to the conduit, using it to jump right onto the Citadel. Saren and Sovereign were already causing some havoc!

We took the elevator until it suddenly stopped and continued to the Council chambers along the exterior of the Citadel Tower. Fought some more geth and krogan along the way and finally confronted Saren. I don't know how I did it, but I managed to finally make him see he was already controlled by Sovereign, and the whole thing ended with him shooting himself in the head (had to fight him with Hannah, it was... no fun at all, haha). We used Vigil's file and I ordered my team to check if Saren was dead. He was, but he came back, glowing red and looking like a robot. We took him... or it... down for good and the fleet destroyed Sovereign. We actually did it. But it's far from over, isn't it? The indications Vigil made about the Reapers are unpleasant. We need to focus on them if we'll ever want to beat them. I need to find a way...

The Council was grateful the Alliance saved them after my decision and I recommended Anderson as our first human Councilor. Eat this, Udina.

As usual, have some pics ;)

Spoiler

Had a lot of crap happen at the end. When I entered the Council chambers Liara and Tali disappeared, though I could still use their talents, haha... Then first time fighting Saren I hit the Power Wheel and suddenly Saren's speech turned into a loud screeching noise, totally annoying. Switched off the console, started the fight again. Heavy lagging throughout, then when I took Saren down for good, loading screen turns up and game crashes. That happened twice, I was quite pissed by then. During the 3rd time fighting Saren I just put the game on Casual and let my squad mates use their powers automatically, and there there, it worked. No lockup, credits rolled. Woohoo. I love that Faunts song :)

I'm also pleased how Idan turned out in ME2, first glimpse here:

Spoiler

I can't tell you guys how excited I was all day to start into ME2, to see my import, and to plan more Shepards for the future. I'm constantly asking myself how this addiction could've happened, this is not exactly healthy. Ah well, who am I telling that to?

But I guess the Mass Effect as we know it can make everybody a little loco...

Today Sandra went to Pragia to help Jack confront and put her troubled past behind her.  In the process of exploring the facility Sandra saw the more ugly side of cerberus, Jacob speculated that the facility went rogue but Jack called bs and Sandra had her suspicions.  While they were there they ran into some blood pack mercs that were hired by a former subject of the facility named Aresh.  After confronting Aresh Sandra convinced Jack to spare him.  They left the facility and Jack detonated the bomb.  Back on the Normandy Sandra had to break up a spat between Jack and Miranda.

Three years ago, the story of Sarah Shepard ended. She was the galaxy greatest -- and perhaps most dangerous -- control freak. She was a master hacker and a master manipulator. Few could resist her Charm.

She was of course, the Puppet Master Engineer.

Many thought the full story of how she had defeated the Reapers had been told. They were wrong. Three years since her passing, new recordings of her exploits have been found, soon to be released to the waiting public.

Omega:

Prologue: Aria requested a meeting with Sarah. Aria was ready to retake Omega. Sarah was ready to assist.

Invasion: Aria's original attack plan failed, but she had a backup plan ready. Aria, Sarah, and some other of Aria force boarded Omega in safety pods. Cerberus was waiting. Those who dared look to upon the face of Shepard soon had other thoughts, and they took to fighting their former brethren. A few Cerberus Engineers tried to lay down turrets, but their turrets quickly swiveled in their direction and cut them down.

Cerberus had modded some old LOKI mechs into faster, more deadly Rampart mechs. But each Rampart mech became just another weapon at Sarah's disposal with but a small wave of her Omni Tool.

Aria and Shepard ran into a Turian named Nyreen, who gladly offered her assistance. Together, the three of them ground Cerberus forces into dust and ash until they made it safely into Aria's underground bunker.

The Talons: A lone mercenary gang still ran free on Omega: the Talons. Aria needed the Talons to help fight the Cerberus occupation. They needed to find and convince their leader to help them fight Cerberus. Shepard new that convincing the leader would be easy, but finding the leader would be difficult as Cerberus was currently assaulting the Talons.

Cerberus men and mechs tried to stop the duo, but each enemy wave turned to chaos as both men and mech turned traitor and fought against their own side. Resistance faltered and fell. Aria and Shepard finally found the Talon leader: it was Nyreen. She did not want to aid Aria, but a few words from Shepard soon convinced her. (Few can ever truly resist Shepard.)

The three fighters made their way to a Talon outpost. Cerberus tried gamely to stop them, but to no avail. At the outpost, Aria delivered an impassioned speech to the citizens of Omega. Angry and desperate, Cerberus quickly attacked the outpost, but the attack was immediately doomed as Shepard methodically turned the attackers against each other. Nyreen needed no further convincing; she finally realized that Shepard would win the war.

The Mines: To free the citizens of Omega, they needed to shut down the force fields that were erected throughout Omega. To shut them down, they needed to get to the reactor in the mines. In the mines, they found lots of dead Cerberus troops, before being attacked by Adjutants. Adjutants are large beasts, but even beasts are docile creatures in the presence of the Puppet Master Engineer. Sarah had them eating (bullets) out of the palm of her hand (Boom stick).

They soon made it to the reactor, only to realize too late that it was a trap. General Oleg Petrovsky gave them a choice: surrender or die. Aria chose the hidden third option: escape and fight. She started to create a hole in the force field surrounding them while Sarah bought her some time. Rampart mechs poured into the killzone,... Shepard's killzone. She merely had to point her Omni Tool at a mech and it obeyed her. Aria finally punched a hole in the force field, and Shepard dove through. She ran to the reactor console to shut it down. Another wave of her Omni Tool safely shut it down. The force fields went down and the citizens of Omega begin to attack.

Assault on Afterlife: Any lengthy fight would eventually be won by Cerberus, so they had to capture or kill Petrovksy quickly. He was holed up in Afterlife, so Aria and Shepard made their way to Afterlife from one direction while Nyreen went in another direction in a two-prong attack. But first Shepard and Aria had to defuse bombs Cerberus had placed on some support columns. Shepard disarmed the bombs while Aria and a rotating band of Cerberus squadmates held off the defending Cerberus troops. Shepard made sure to thank the helpful troops by making their deaths quick.

Nyreen made it to Afterlife before Shepard and Aria, but was overwhelmed by Adjutants. She blew herself up with a belt of grenades, taking the Adjutants with her. Aria lost her cool and blindly ran into Afterlife... and right into Petrovsky's trap.

Petrovsky unleashed more Adjutants and Cerberus troops in an effort to kill Shepard, but he soon realized the horrible truth: he may have trapped Shepard, but now he was trapped inside Afterlife with Shepard. He watched in vain as his well-laid plans crumbled around him, his troops and his Adjutants fighting each other to the death, Aria and Shepard killing anyone else alive. He had no choice but to surrender. Shepard sent to the Alliance as a prisoner. Aria agreed to help the citizens of Omega rebuild.

Up next: And ambush and the person who wanted to become Sarah Shepard.

* * *

I had finished my Puppet Master Engineer playthrough before the Omega DLC and Citadel DLCs had been released. I had considered that playthrough over and did not feel like playing it again.

BSN user geth47 asked me if I would play through the final DLCs as the Puppet Master Engineer. I had some free time so I agreed.

I am recording the playthroughs. It will take some time to edit the videos and get them posted. I will probably start to post them to YouTube some time later in the week or next week.

Got some more ME 2 action in tonight.  Sandra journeyed to the migrant fleet so she and Tali could face Tali's accusers.  Turns out that Tali was charged with bringing active Geth to the fleet.  When it was discovered that Geth had seized control of the lab ship Tali's father had been working on Sandra and Tali volunteered to take back the ship and recover evidence that could exonerate Tali.  While on the ship they indeed found evidence that did clear Tali but implicated her father.  In the end Sandra was persuasive enough to convince that admirals to drop the charges against Tali without having to bring forth the evidence they found

After spending some more quality time with Ash, the rest of the Normandy crew and the ridiculous task to deal with remaining geth instead of the Reapers, events took a bad turn at some point. We were shot down by a giant space ship, and after getting everyone who survived the attack out safely, I fell. I don’t remember anything about dying, but that’s what I apparently did…

I woke up in some unknown facility, forced to escape, being directed by a woman’s voice. She’s the one I saw when I woke up the first time.

I proceeded until I met some guy who knew my name and was surprised to see me up and running. His name is Jacob and he gave me a short explanation of what had happened, then we took down some mechs together, medi-gel’d a guy named Wilson, I learned that I was in a Cerberus facility, and eventually we made it to the evac area, where Miranda made our rescue efforts for Wilson useless. She shot him right in front of us. Said he was a traitor. I’m still confused as to what is happening, so I just accepted her words. Not before noticing she is equipped rather nicely, and I’m not talking about her weapons. Or well, maybe I am.

I was shipped off to the Illusive Man, head of Cerberus, and it’s strange. I feel out of place, and after everything I’ve seen concerning Cerberus I’d rather not get too close to any of these people… yet it seems the head of this organization is actually convinced of the Reaper threat and tells me about entire human colonies vanishing. That sounds bad.

Alright, for now I’m gonna play along.

We were off to the colony Freedom’s Progress, where I met Tali again! Very surprised to see her, but I’m damn glad she’s alright. With the help of another quarian Tali and her team were looking for, Veetor, we were able to confirm the Illusive Man’s suspicion. We’re in deep sh*t. The Collectors are here, taking humans from colonies to do who knows what to them.

Unfortunately Tali couldn't join us, and upon returning and talking to the Illusive Man again, I saw that it was futile to think about getting any of my old team members back to help me. Damn.

At least he had a neat surprise for me in store. He actually got Joker back, and we have a brand new Normandy! I'm not saying I trust Cerberus, but I have a feeling they'll help me more than the Alliance or the Council ever will. Since nobody is doing anything against the Reapers, it is up to us. I'll do this with whoever is up for it.

Time to meet the new crew...

The man back in action:

Spoiler

Holy crap, it's much different playing a Soldier :D Ran out of ammo for my pistol during Freedom's Progress, which wasn't that bad because I had other weapons, but it was still a panicky moment, haha. In which I also overlooked ammo directly in front of me. Oh well ^_^

Might take a bit to get used to, but then every beginning in each game is still somewhat a phase to familiarise myself with all the new stuff/powers again.

Also the texts displaying through walls still irritate me a great deal!

recruited Garrus, Grunt, Mordin, Jack, Kasumi and Zaeed

When I went to recruit Jack, I took Kasumi and Mordin with me. First time I've had them together. Both had a couple of good lines of dialogue during the mission
