Before I continue with Honey Shepard's story, I was getting ready to do Cronos when I checked my ems and realized even with assets from Chronos I would not have enough to get to 1750 or higher. I was at 1463. So I went and scanned a few planets and now my ems is at 1775. If it was below 1750, the door to the Normandy wouldn't open.
Now to Honey Shepard.
She spent a few hours with Sam before attacking Chronos. She didn't want to leave her, but had to kill Cerberus for making Samantha upset. Samantha called me princess. I like it. And when this crap is over with, she can be my Queen. I switched out my omni blade to a more rustic saw blade. I will kill every Cerberus soldier in the most vile way possible for hurting my girl.
Fighting through the soldiers was a cake walk especially hearing them gurgle on their own blood. It was good using my blade. And again with the butter knives. I must be doing it wrong. Doesn't matter. Omni blade trumps butter knives all the time. I finally get to face my hero, the leader of the butter knives, Kai Leng. I make short work of him and his circus of misfits. Lash and omni blade make for a very lethal combo. I know Sam would like to be here to spit on their bodies. So now I'm headed for home. Earth. And hopefully the end of James and Javik.
Back on the Normandy, Samantha has a future planned out for us. I like it. But I had to remind her that the mission comes first. She gives me a hug and I hug her back
We race to Earth with all the other species to stop the reapers. I see the reapers tearing apart the fleets and hoping one would shoot us to end my mission. But no, they want me to suffer keeping J and J alive. I don't believe I'm asking for much. I'm I?
We jump out of the shuttle fighting the uglies to get a down shuttle for a heavy weapon. A harvester shoots at Steve's shuttle and that pi**ed me off. Would it help if I put neon lights on these 2 for you guys to shoot at them? I throw my weapon down in a hissy fit. I'm getting sick of this crap. I find the heavy weapon and blow up the reaper thingy. We get picked up by Anderson who takes us to the forward operating base.
A few minutes later, he explains his plan to take out the destroyer. Hey Anderson? What about a plan to kill James and Javik? Some people are so selfish. What's the saying, "if you want something done right, do it youself". But lo and behold, Anderson says he will send me where the resistance is the heaviest. Yes. There might be hope yet.
We fight through the uglies and protecting the missles while adjusting the targeting system. I kept waving my arms at the destroyer to fire at the missles to blow up James and Javik, but to no avail. The destroyer is killed and we're headed to the beam. I was in tears. I was going to fail my mission. We stop and see a giant reaper land. As I'm running to the beam I see a lot of soldiers getting killed. Who cares? As I turn aroung to see what J and J are doing, the reaper fires and kills them. YES. YES. Outstanding. Too bad Sam wasn't here to celebrate with me. And thank you big reaper thingy for doing that for me.
A moment later, everything goes dark. I wake up seeing the reaper thingy fly away. It shot at me. I can't believe it. After saying thank you to it. Now I have to return the favor. Destroy it and the others. Isn't that what the galaxy been wanting to do this whole time? Up the beam I go. Weeeee. I hear Anderson's voice telling me he made it up here as well. Good. He can help. I catch up to Anderson and realized I can't move. The Cerberus leader is controling me, but not my mind. He has me shoot Anderson just to prove a point. Whippy do da. I'm happy for him. I finally get enough of myself to kill him. Anderson crawls to me and says "you did good child". What? I'm no child. Who cares. He died from his wound. A few moments later. it gets dark
I wake up in another area. How did I get here? And look at this. A glowing AI in the shape of the kid who didn't want to be helped. I ask the thing where its parents are? It starts talking about some solution or whatever. I don't give a crap. Just want to get rid of the reaper thingy's. While the thing was talking I was looking for the off switch. The glowing kid is very annoying. It mentions destroy. Thats all I need to hear. So with my pistol, I limp my way to a giant looking tube. I really miss Sam. Just before I fire the last shot, I mumble "I'm sorry Samantha" and everything goes dark.
On the Normandy, Tali, Liara, Ashley, Steve and Joker watch as Samantha puts up the Commanders nameplate. Honey Shepard is now a legend

Today, Tuchanka. Our mission: Play capture-the-flag big gun with Cerberus. What the hell are they doing on Tuchanka anyway, and how come Wrex isn't doing anything about it? As I read the mission brief in the CIC, I could hear Grunt's voice in my head telling me I was going to get chewed up and spit out. I reminded him that the last time I was on Tuchanka I killed a thresher maw. He answered, "no nukes this time, Shepard." Traynor's starting to give me sideways looks all the time. Have to remember to talk to Grunt silently.
In preparation for the mission I removed the defense matrix from my armor, and upgraded my omni-tool to create a defensive drone for protection instead. I figured if the bad guys are gonna swarm me, they're gonna get stung. Also swapped out my SMG for a shotgun, and finally talked Garrus into sharing his armor-piercing ammo with the rest of us once in awhile. James also remembered to pack some grenades. It's about time.
We landed in the wasteland with the fierce Tuchanka sun glaring down at us. I refuse to call it by its proper name of Aralakh. When I do Grunt asks me if I have a salarian stuck in my throat. Maybe I should have a talk with Chakwas about these conversations. James said Tuchanka reminded him of the desert back home. I think he grew up near an old nuclear testing site or something. Explains a lot, really, now that I think about it.
Didn't take long for Cerberus to find us. I swear everytime we come across one of those guys it's like kicking a hornet's nest. Jeez. With the defense matrix no longer lagging my Omni-tool I started tossing out turrets and drones as fast as I could, and we actually made pretty short work of those Cerberus guys for a change. But they're sneaky bastards; as we were reconfiguring the control panel, they cut the power. Damn. They also called in the reinforcements. Double damn.
Before I left the control room, I found some schematics for an old power grid. Maybe what's-her-name can use it to fix up the power problems at Purgatory. Garrus said something about being in the middle of a firefight. I told him to pipe down. We're talking free drinks for life here. Woot.
Fought another million or so troops. I heart drones. I heart drones very much. Found the fuseboxes and flipped the breakers. Fought another million or so troops on the way back to the control panel. Wrex and I are gonna have a talk some time about how fast Cerberus troops reproduce, nevermind krogan. Finally killed them all and took out their ride. Cortez got a little too excited about that. James and I are starting to worry about him. At least he doesn't have a seven month old krogan in his head mocking his combat skills all the time.
Number of reloads: 0. Take that, Grunt. Heh-heh-heh.

Arwen flew off to the Armstrong Cluster hoping to find a lead on Saren. Although she found a huge number of Geth, there were no leads on Saren.
So next we flew to the Artemis Tau cluster to search for the archeologist. First we found Admiral Kohoku's missing recon team. In the next system we checked out we found a pirate base run by an Asari who has a sister that is a diplomat on the Citadel. Finally, we found that planet the archeologist was on. Apparently, we weren't the only ones looking for her. There were a lot of Geth here as well. After fighting through all those Geth we finally found the archeologist and she turned out be quite the looker, if you are into blue space-babes, which Arwen is.
After rescuing Liara, she offered to mind-meld with Shepard to see if she could make sense of Beacon's message. She couldn't. She says the Beacon was damaged and part of the message are missing.
Arwen then reported in to the Council again, and again they acted like jerks, so she hung up on them all over again. This may become a ritual. Just to show how stupid they are, the Council called right back to tell Shepard about a missing infiltration team that might have a lead on Saren. Shepard was trying desperately to hang up on them yet again, but the Council beat her to it this time. Maybe they aren't so stupid after all.
Shepard then went and talked to her crew. When Kaidan asked about Liara, Shepard told him not to mess with the blue-babe. She wanted the archeologist for herself. Kaidan seemed a little taken aback that Shepard is a lesbian. And a xenophile at that. (Shepard's roll in the hay with the Consort really turned her on to Asari women. She is hoping to hook up with all the Asari women she can!) Hopefully this will keep him from chasing after Shepard in the future. Not sure what Ash will think when Arwen tells her she has the hots for an alien.
Having been out on the frontier for a few weeks, Shepard took the Normandy back to the Citadel to restock and refit. While there she met up with Admiral Kohoku and let him know what happened to his team. She also met the reporter Emily Wong again and agreed to plant a bug for her for a story she was working on. Next she met the Asari diplomat who had a pirate sister. The diplomat gave her access to Asari mods. Then Arwen went to markets in the wards and shoved a gun in Conrad's face to show him what it meant to be truly extreme. We have a feeling he will learn that lesson well. Finally, Arwen headed to Flux for another night of dancing with Doran. Hopefully, the next time we stop by the Citadel Shepard can convince Liara to go out dancing with her. The Volus may be a good dancer, but Shepard would prefer dancing with the blue space-babe.
At this point, Shepard's leads on Saren are quite thin. There are rumors of Geth activity around Noveria, but that was weeks ago and nothing more has turned up there yet. The fate of the infiltration unit sounds like it might lead to something, but we really don't know. So for now Shepard is going to follow up on some other tasks she has on her to-do list, such as tracking down some crime-lords and maybe helping Garrus find a twisted Salarian geneticist.

Today I started ME2 with a really old ME1 save. It isn't one of my regular saves, it was one from when I ran the same character through ME1 multiple times to max out charm and intimidate without spending points. I used the first save in it with results I never planned on using. Wrex, the Rachni Queen and the Council are all dead. I plan on skipping most loyalty missions and killing off over half the squad during the SM. Then I will play ME3 and have, hopefully, a totally different experience.

I started another DA:O playthrough the other day. Damn you von uber and your excellent screenshots. I recently re-watched the movie "Pitch Black" and decided it was time to romance Morrigan again. It's been too long. The last couple times I played through with her as LI, I never brought her anywhere because she disapproved of everything I did. This time I'll play it differently and try to see things from her point-of-view.

Today: Tuchanka II: Electric Boogaloo. Turns out the reapers really are a part of this conflict, and they've trapped a platoon of turian soldiers who've crashed planetside. Well, it'll make a change from fighting Cerberus all the time. Hope we don't see them for awhile... ahem.
Down on Tuchanka, we started to make our way through some ruins. We killed a few husks while Garrus and James talked about military life. James must have been distracted because he was taken out of our first major skirmish by some cannibals. I played it smart this time and stayed down until all the bad guys were dead before reviving him. Or so I thought. Marauder Shields ambushed me as I left cover. As everything faded to black, Grunt said, "told you. Chewed up. Spit out."
Second time around the mission went much more smoothly. We killed a few harvesters and a whole mess of reapers before finally reaching the turian platoon. Turns out Tarquin may be just a tiny wee bit incompetent as a military leader, and none of his soldiers wanted to follow him anymore. I told the lieutenant to appeal to their sense of honor. It was no 'Hold the Line' speech but it got the job done. Afterwards he asked me to help them complete their mission and I learned that Cerberus had planted a bomb in the Kelphic Valley. Cerberus. Figures.
Number of reloads: 1. I'll get that Marauder Shields if it's the last thing I do.
Back on the Normandy, the Primarch clammed up when I asked him about the bomb, but he did thank me for saving his son. That's something I guess. I lied to Wrex about the whole thing and somewhere a kitten died. I know he didn't believe me, but he trusts me enough not to press the issue. In the Med Bay Mordin was singing to keep Eve's mind off all those tests. I left before Grunt overheard. That'd be all I need.
Tuchanka III: Cerberus Sets Us Up The Bomb. Actually, turns out the turians planted the bomb sometime after the krogan rebellions. I cracked the faceplate of my helmet when Grunt headbutted the inside of my skull after learning that. Wrex isn't gonna like this. Cortez landed us in the middle of a war zone this time and Garrus went down before we could get to cover. Cutting through that first wave of Cerberus baddies was a fair bit tougher without the sniper backing us up.
Caught up with the ninth platoon at the control panel for the bomb. A nemesis started sniping all the turians, and I figured we better take care of these Cerberus mooks before there wasn't anyone left to disarm the bomb. Every time I killed one of them Grunt sang, "Off to fight since turians can't! Hurrah Hurrah!" Guess he heard Mordin after all. Damn. Anyway, we were doing great until the Atlas wiped out Garrus with one rocket. I guess they are his Achilles' heel after all. Grunt gleefully pointed out that I finally found someone who dies more than I do. Bastard.
In the end Tarquin completed his mission and died with honor. Kid had guts when it counted, I'll give him that. Back on the Normandy things were getting heated between Wrex and the Primarch. Grunt wanted me to give Wrex a claw hammer, but I just reminded them both that the reapers were still out there.
Number of reloads: 0. Tough day. Figure the crew need a break so we're heading back to the Citadel briefly before curing the genophage.

Arwen Shepard has been one busy woman.
She tracked down some crime-lords Helena Blake pointed her to. She stumbled upon a drifting freighter and found a brain dead man and a crazy biotic woman as the only passengers. She turned of the brain dead guy's life support and killed the crazy woman. She destroyed a Cerberus operation and sold intel on them to the Shadow Broker. She shut down another Cerberus operation and found Admiral Kohoku's lifeless body. She was asked to deal with group of biotics who had taken the chairman of some committee hostage. She convinced the biotics to surrender. She found the Salarian geneticist Garrus had been searching for and let Garrus kill him. She found another abandoned freighter and tracked an escape pod from it to a nearby planet where she found out one of the crew had been killed by pirates. She needs to go to the Citadel to inform the man's brother. She met with Helena Blake and let her know her former associates are dead. Helena was grateful and promised to keep her organization clear of the slave trade in the future.
Admiral Hackett called Shepard to let her know that some scientists with a connection to Akuze had turned up dead. He also told her one of the scientists was still alive and located on the planet Ontorom. When she got there she met an old acquaintance, a Corporal Toombs. She had thought Toombs was killed in the thresher maw attack, but he revealed that Cerberus had arranged the attack to study the maws and then took him captive to study him. She convinced Toombs she should kill the scientist since she was a Spectre and no one would question her. Arwen was already pretty angry at this Cerberus group for killing Admiral Kohoku, but now it was personal. Cerberus operatives better hope she doesn't run into them in the future. She will not be gentle with them.
While on Ontorom she stumbled upon a six limbed "cow" with a penchant for kleptomania. The bloody thing stole 27 credits from her before she shot it. She plans on running over space cows in the future, regardless of what the Galactic Humane Society may say.
Finally, Shepard made her way to Noveria. When she got there she found out the Matriarch Benezia was there. When she spoke to the Salarian Administrator about going to the Binary Helix lab where the Matriarch was headed, he denied her request. His assistant then pointed her to a Turian named Lorik Quin as someone who might help her get a garage pass. After helping a Hanar smuggle some goods into the port, and ratting out an Asari spy to a Binary Helix sales rep, Shepard went to talk to Quin. Quin asked Shepard to retrieve some incriminating evidence Quin had regarding the Administrator. In return, he would give Shepard his garage pass. Shepard agreed to the deal. After killing a bunch of cops in Quin's office, the Administrator's assistant, a woman named Gianna Parsini, intercepted Shepard and revealed she was with internal affairs. She wanted Shepard to convince Quin to testify against the Administrator. Shepard didn't make any promises, but was able to convince Quin to help her out. After Gianna arrested the Administrator, she told Shepard she owed her a beer. I hope we don't have to wait too long for that beer.
Shepard then made her way to Peak 15, fighting through an army of Geth to get there. Once she got there the situation deteriorated even further. The bugs she ran into were an annoyance, but the bloody VI named Mira was the worst enemy she had ever faced in her life. Nothing Shepard did could get that thing to shut up. She searched desperately for some way to blast its virtual ass into actual dust, all to no avail.
When she finally did find the Matriarch she found out that Saren was looking for a particular Mass Relay. Apparently, the Rachni queen Binary Helix had found knew where the relay was and Benezia had been sent to get that information from the queen. Benezia gave us the location of the relay and then we killed her. After Benezia was dead, Shepard was faced with the choice of what to do with the Rachni queen. Ashley was all for killing it, but Garrus said that would amount to genocide. He advised letting the Council decide what to do with her. Shepard doesn't think too much of the Council, but she did agree with Garrus that killing the queen would be genocide, so she let her go.
When she returned to the ship she reported in to the Council. Actually, she didn't care at all about what the Council thought. What she really wanted was another opportunity to hang up on them, which she promptly did.
Now its back to the Citadel for more restocking and hopefully a night out with the blue space-babe.

Yesterday I remade Tianshi Shepard, because I realized I wanted to do something I've never done before: use an alliance squad for the most part of the game (Ashley & Kaidan), but I had really picked the wrong class for that.
So I redid him, he's not an Infiltrator anymore now, but an Assault Rifle wielding Adept. That goes much better with Ashley and Kaidan.
Tianshi is on his way to Chora's Den now to take care of Fist.

Quick trip to the citadel today. Picked up that thermal pipe Adams wanted, caught up with Cortez at the memorial wall -- I think he thinks our friendship is going somewhere it isn't. I'll have to set him straight on that soon, no pun intended. Also found out Kaidan's going to be a spectre. He's always trying to steal my thunder.
Also, I was right, that gal in charge of keeping the lights on in Purgatory did give me free drinks for life, so I got drunk with Bilal Osoba's squad and woke up on Aria's couch. Somewhat embarrassed, I left and ended up at Apollo's on the presidium. Matriarch Aethyta of all people gave me some much needed coffee after I got her and Liara talking to eachother. Grunt wants me to introduce him to Liara sometime after we learned she's one-quarter krogan. Like he has a chance.
Then it was time to wrap things up on Tuchanka. Left Garrus behind. He wasn't too happy about it, but he still looked a little shaky after that rocket blast on the last mission. Plus, Javik hasn't left the Normandy since we picked him up on Eden Prime. I think he's going a little a stir-crazy; when he's not trolling the rest of the crew he spends all his time washing his hands. What's up with that? Anyway I figured some fresh air in a war-torn, nuclear ravaged wasteland would do him some good. So I brought him and James along this time.
Got my first good look at a reaper since leaving Earth. Even Grunt seemed a little hesitant to take this mission on... for a minute. He's crazy. Took a little too long watching a turian fighter get shot down and it exploded half the convoy. We got separated from Wrex and Eve and Mordin, and had to make our way through the city of the ancients to get to the Shroud facility. Javik called the city the remnants of a failed species and Grunt said, "krogan no like you."
Fought some reaper troops once we hit daylight. We were all quite impressed with Javik's particle rifle. How do I not have one of those? His biotics are pretty impressive too. I couldn't tell him that of course; his head's swollen enough already, but I think he'll be on the away team a little more often. All in all the mission was surprisingly easy considering our destination, until final dash to activate the maw-hammers, that is. A brute staggered me with a right hook to the jaw, and I stumbled right into the path of a reaper foot ...which stomped me flat. Total number of reloads: 1.
With the reaper out of the way, I said farewell to Mordin before he ascended the Shroud tower and ensured the cure would work properly. Instead of grieving I celebrated that he was able to make his life come full-circle in a way few of us ever get the chance to.
Back on the Normandy the salarian councilor wanted to talk to me about Udina. He made a veiled threat about my curing the genophage. I was about to let him have it when Grunt reminded me that salarians have wiggly arms. I spent the rest of the conversation with Valern giggling uncontrollably. Maybe having Grunt in my head isn't so bad after all.
Checked my messages before setting course for the citadel. Hackett wants me to detour to Noveria and take out a Cerberus fighter base. Crap.

Arwen Shepard got her fourth, and unfortunately final, opportunity to hang up on the Council. But before getting to that, we need to talk about what happened on Virmire.
Well, its official now: Arwen Shepard has been certified as the most powerful human biotic ever, having mastered all the biotic powers humans are capable of, such as Warp, Throw, Lift, Singularity, Stasis, and Barrier. Too bad humans haven't figured out how to use the Fly power. I was thinking my blue girl friend might teach me that one, but she says Asari are strictly forbidden from teaching other races how to Fly. Show offs.
Once we landed on Virmire and met up with the Salarians, we found out Saren was breeding an army of Krogan warriors there. We needed to put a stop to that, although Wrex saw things differently. He refused to go along with our plan to destroy the facility, so Shepard killed him. Having just shown what a badass biotic she was, Shepard didn't just shoot the Krogan, she knocked him on the ground before blasting him with her shotgun several times. Sometimes Shepard scares me with just how sadistic she can be.
After that unpleasantness was over, the Salarian captain asked that one of Shepard's team act as a liaison between Shepard's Shadow Team and the Salarians. Kaidan volunteered, but Ashley pointed out he would be needed to arm the bomb we were going to use to destroy the base. Shepard agreed with Ash. Even though Ashley seems to be something of a xenophobe, she is also a good soldier and Shepard had faith that she would put her duty before her personal feelings. So Ashley took off with the Salarians while Shepard, Liara and Garrus infiltrated the base from the rear.
Once inside the base, not only did we run into the usual assortment of Geth and Krogans, but some Salarians as well. Turns out Saren wasn't just breeding Krogan here, he was also studying indoctrination and the Salarians were POWs used as guinea pigs in those experiments. We encountered the Asari scientist who was running the experiments and Shepard killed her because she didn't want the woman running off and telling the enemy where we were. I suppose we could have tied her up and let her die in the blast, but time was short. I'm not sure I should have taken Liara on this mission with me. She looked rather stunned when Shepard just pulled out her gun and shot that scientist in cold blood. She also wasn't too happy when Shepard shot a bunch of Salarian captives who had been indoctrinated. Oh well, its not like Shepard can hide anything from her when she does that mind-meld thing, although seeing Shepard's more ruthless side in person probably has a greater impact.
We found another Beacon like the one on Eden Prime, and then talked with Saren's ship Sovereign. Turns out the ship is actually a Reaper. Shepard was not very impressed by all the machine's juvenile chest pounding. No beginning, no end? The ignorant machine doesn't even know the first thing about cosmology and astrophysics. Heck, the bloody thing couldn't even come up with a reason for wiping out all organic civilizations every 50,000 years. Too far beyond our comprehension? Yeah, right. More like it was too dumb to even know why it did what it did. If a Prothean were still alive and able to comment on Sovereign's prattle, I am sure he would have said something like "Stupid Machine."
After our little chat we headed off to plant the bomb. While we were doing that Williams radioed in to let us know her team was being overwhelmed, so we raced off to save her and the Salarians. Then another Geth ship flew in and started dropping troops at the bomb site. Kaidan called and told us he had armed the bomb and that we should go get Williams. Shepard was conflicted, but Captain Kirrahe had assured us that once the bomb was armed it could not be disarmed. So Shepard decided the best course of action was to save as many of her troops as she could, including the Salarians. She told Kaidan to "Fight hard, die proud," and then rushed off to the AA tower where Ash and the Salarians were holding out.
When she got to the AA tower and defeated the Geth there, Saren himself showed up. We had a very long talk where Saren tried to explain how he was working out a modus vivendi between organics and the Reapers. Shepard didn't buy it. She told Saren he was indoctrinated, but he wouldn't listen, so we ended up in a fight with Saren fleeing the scene.
Back on board the Normandy, Liara did her mind-meld thing again and let us know that the Conduit Saren was searching for was on the planet Ilos. We reported in to the Council, as mentioned before, and then hung up on them. By now we have got this ritual down pat. Too bad it was our last time, cuz next we know that Council wants us to come back to the Citadel and help prepare for their offensive against Saren.
Only, it turns out it is not an offensive they have planned, but the interstellar equivalent of the Maginot Line. Rather than going after Saren, they will hedgehog their fleets around the Citadel and wait for him to come to them. Shepard insisted that they go to Ilos to stop Saren before he found the Conduit, but all she got for her trouble was getting grounded. Daddy finally took away the keys to our sweet ride. Pooh.
Well, at least the blue space-babe and Shepard can spend some time at Flux drinking, gambling, and dancing.

"Since I finished a trilogy run to kill all male squadmates, I will start a trilogy run to kill all female squadmates. "
HAHA! You´re only doing this because you know it´s not possible to kill Samantha. Well, unless the ship crashes at the end and (presumably) no one survives.
Why not use a male shep for this version? Misogynist Shep would be a perfect name. When I killed all the girls I used this name. When I killed all the males, I used the name gpower.
I can see already Edi and Liara biting the dust against harbinger.

Why would I be doing this if I know Samantha can't die? 1) because I can and 2) I've never done a playthrough having all female squadmates dead. I might do a playthrough with all crewmembers dead. Of course that requires low ems(below 1750) to happen.
I won't play maleshep since he's not renegade enough like the femshep I play. The few times I played maleshep, they're all paragons. And yes, robot and T'soni will die by Harbinger's beam and femshep will thank him for it while celebrating.

Scanned for a bunch of war assets on our way to Noveria today. Garrus assured me he was ready to get back into action so he came with James and me down to the surface. Damn, that place sure hasn't gotten any warmer since we were there last. Fought our way into the base without too much trouble. Turrets and drones, turrets and drones, gotta love them turrets and drones.
Took Garrus forever to disable the base's defenses. While watching his back, James tried to emulate Wrex again and got wiped out right away. Too much for me to handle alone even with my drones and I went down. Grunt asked me if I was the same Shepard that just killed a reaper not too long ago. Damn.
Tried again and managed to take down the base's defenses this time. Cortez warned us we were gonna get swarmed by the reinforcements, and damned if he wasn't kidding. Garrus spent the whole time hiding in a corner and being no help at all. Think this payback for not taking him to the shroud. Turians are so uppity sometimes. I got wiped out by a turret that I couldn't locate in time after a thrown grenade flushed me out of cover. Crap.
Although I had to micromanage everyone's placement behind cover, the third time was the charm. The endboss Atlas 'mech was actually the easiest fight of the whole mission. Total number of reloads: 2.
Question: Can you shoot grenades before they explode like those mines the geth use?

Scanned a lot of assets, did a lot of side missions on the Citadel, then realized the Hanar diplomat mission got glitched so I had to reload a 2 hour old save because I'm a completionist. On the bright side, I was always hesitant to play on higher difficulties because I doubted my skills, but I decided to play above my comfort level on this runthrough, and now I'm doing ok even on insanity.
