So it's probably a good thing I'm doing another run through of the trilogy. I discovered that due to a computer problem, I lost all my saved games, dating back to 2008 when the first game came out. It's tragic, I know.  :crying: But on the bright side, that just gives me more incentive to play, to make new 'canon' saves. :)

So meet my canon broShep, Logan Shepard:

Spoiler

He's a Colonist, Sole Survivor Sentinel. He's going to be a Paragade, I think. Still not sure who he is going to romance. It's down to either Liara or Tali. He likes the aliens.

I'm taking Jasmine, my Adept Sniper through ME2, but she is going through that awkward phase that we all go through after you die & get resurrected.

Yes, she's forgotten how to use a sniper rifle.

She is running around recruiting people in the hope that something will trigger her lost familiarity with the weapon.

Ooooh well, no ME2 today, got sucked up in recording James stuff again :D Finished Ex-Cerberus scientists... that took a liiittle bit of time (and that was one of the still shortish missions... can't wait for something like Priority Earth, or Leviathan, or Citadel DLC. I'm just a bit crazy ).

Anyway, I also stumbled upon new dialogue I hadn't seen before. I didn't play that mission until after Rannoch for getting the Tali/James dialogue, aaand found out that the James/Garrus banter after the scientists mission slightly changed depending on the Rannoch outcome. I just quickly threw this video together now.

Enjoy :)

I mentioned at some point earlier in this thread that my next four Shepards will have themed ME2 playthroughs/suicide mission outcomes: Pro-tech, anti-tech, pro-biotic, and anti-biotic. (My current Shepard, Bruno Shepard, will be the anti-tech).

I just realized that my next Shepard, David Shepard, will be the pro-biotic playthrough. But... I realized that I actually had planned for him to romance Tali. Oops. So it looks like it may be an pro-biotic plus Tali. Nuts.

I could still switch it up I suppose, but it makes more sense if my pure-tech Engineer is the pro-tech outcome and the tech+combat Infiltrator is the anti-biotic outcome.

I probably should have spent more time thinking this through.

Because she Quarian and vulnerable to infection I think Tali should be romanced by the antibiotic. Get it! Get it!

Oh, okay. I'll go and sit in the Mako.

Are you playing on PC?

You can use the save editor http://social.biowar...m/project/4373/to add the weapon. Open your save and go to the Raw tab. Under Squad expand Player and go down to Weapons and click on the three dots on the right. Here click on Add and enter SFXGameContent_Inventory.SFXWeapon_SniperRifle under class name. Click Ok to exit.

Now expand Loadout and enter SFXGameContent_Inventory.SFXWeapon_SniperRifle on Unknown #3.

Save and you should now be carrying the Mantis Sniper Rifle with your Adept.

Use SFXGameContent_Inventory.SFXWeapon_AntiMatRifle for the Viper or SFXGameContent_Inventory.SFXWeapon_MassCannon for the Widow.

To make the Sniper Rifle a permanent addition to the Adepts loadout  grab the Coalesced Editor from http://social.biowar...m/project/1854/and after opening your Coaleased go to the BioGame tab and go to [SFXGame.SFXPlayerSquadLoadoutData]

Then find the PlayerLoadoutInfo for the Adept and change it to this (ClassName=SFXPawn_PlayerAdept,WeaponClasses=(LoadoutWeapons_SniperRifles,LoadoutWeapons_HeavyPistols,LoadoutWeapons_AutoPistols,LoadoutWeapons_HeavyWeapons))

Once changed click on Commands and then Rebuild Coalesced.

This will make the Adept's standard loadout include the sniper rifle. When you reach the part of the Collector ship where you can pick up a weapon, you'll get to pick the Widow as an upgrade or assault rifle or shotgun training.

Yesterday, Bruno Shepard:

1. Went to Illium to locate the Justicar, Samara. In doing so, Shepard found himself embroiled in a murder investigation and an Eclipse people smuggling and drug trafficking operations.

Justicars live by a strict code. A detective's superiors wanted to detain Samara for fear of her killing other races because they broke Asari laws. Due to the Justicar code, Samara would co-operate with the authorities for 24 hours, after which, if she was not willingly freed, she would violently free herself. Samara was looking for a fugitive smuggled offworld by the Eclipse mercenary gang. Shepard volunteered to find the name of the ship in exchange for Samara's help to fight the Collectors.

Shepard killed a lot of Eclipse mercs on the way to their base. Along the way he found the murderer of the Volus merchant (unfortunately he had let her go, but the cops know who she is now). He also discovered that the Eclipse and another Volus merchant had smuggled drugs and weapons onto Illium. He finally made it to the Eclipse base and found the name of the ship.

Back at the detective's office, he gave Samara the name of the ship and she joined his crew as promised. Shepard gave the detective evidence against the Volus merchant and data on the murderer.

2. Back on Illium, Bruno Shepard took Miranda to go find her sister, only to find out her father had hired some Eclipse mercs to get to her first. Shepard and Miranda fought their way to the loading dock where they discovered Miranda's lifelong friend Niket had told her father about Oriana's whereabouts. Shepard tried to defuse the situation, but the Eclipse leader shot Niket and then it all devolved into more violence because of course it did. It ended with all the Eclipse dead, and Oriana safe with her family. Shepard convinced Miranda to spend some time with her sister.

3. Back on board the Normandy, Jack and Miranda got into a fight. Shepard sided with Jack to defuse the situation, but that did not sit well with Miranda. Shepard tried to talk to Miranda about it afterwards, but she refused to talk to Shepard. "I am not pouting" she said. Sure you aren't, Miranda.

(I need Miranda unloyal so she can die on the suicide mission.

4. While Shepard and Miranda had been fighting Eclipse, Samara had apparently tracked down her target: her daughter Morinth. Morinth was on Omega. Apparently, Morinth had a rare condition that killed people when she tried to mate, but she was also psychotic and loved the thrill. Samara had vowed to kill her.

Samara needed Shepard to attract Morinth to him, lure her out and alone to her apartment where Samara would be able to kill her without arousing Morinth's suspicion.

On Omega, they found the mother of Morinth's last victim. Investigating her terminal, they found information they could use to lure Morinth out of hiding. Shepard went to Afterlife's VIP room and was able to lure Morinth over then convince her to invite Shepard over to her apartment. With the trap set, Samara rushed in, and with Shepard's help, killed Morinth.

Today:

1. Bruno Shepard boarded the derelict Reaper. All the Cerberus personnel aboard the Reaper had been indoctrinated and turned into husks. A few were apparently mashed together and turned into Scions. They also found a Geth unit that sniped a few husks, said "Shepard Commander" and walked away. They found the Reaper IFF they were looking for that would help them navigate the Omega-4 Relay. The Geth unit was working at a terminal near the Reaper Core, but was knocked out by Geth. Shepard destroyed the core then, took the Geth unit with them to the Normandy.

2. On board the Normandy, Miranda suggested giving the Geth unit to Cerberus for study to help in the fight with the Geth. Shepard agreed and gave the body to Cerberus.

3. Waiting for the Reaper IFF to be installed, Bruno Shepard went to go see why Project Overload went silent. Answer: GETH EVERYWHERE! okay, apparently it was more complicated then that. Basically, the project combined a VI with a human intelligence to help better understand and/or control the Geth. the hybrid intelligence went crazy and started taking control of all electronics, including Geth that had been salvaged from a crashed Geth ship.

Bruno Shepard destroyed the satellite dish on Hermes Station, and lifted the lockdown on Vulcan Station. Bruno is currently on Prometheus Station, a crashed Geth ship.

My Shepard was thrown out of the airlock of Peak 15 today. Not sure how Benezia or one of her commandos did it, but here I was floating away from the station on Noveria in space:

Probably the same way I've fallen off the Skyway on Feros a couple of times: falling through a Singularity.  Good times.

Bruno Shepard just completed Prometheus Station, completed Atlas Station, sent David Archer to Grissom Academy and pistol-whipped Dr. Gavin Archer.

Bruno then rescued a Quarian on Gei Hinnom.

Then Shepard and his squadmates went out for drinks while the Collectors flew in and kidnapped the crew.

Shepard is now ready to embark on the suicide mission and kill some squadmates!

Are you playing on PC? ............

Yes I am familiar with the saved game editor & coalesced editor, but I appreciate your detailed guide.
It didn't really bother me to not have the sniper rifle at the beginning.
In fact after I got it from the collector ship, I found I didn't like it nearly as much as late in ME1.
Things move a lot quicker in ME2 & it is easy to lose sight of them through the scope,
not to mention running out of ammo, or a least having to spend more time looking for it.
But I got through the suicide mission with only 2 fatalities, & then I used Gibbed to bring Zaeed back, so I get his cameo in ME3.
I just have to help Liara out with the shadowbroker & Jasmine will be off to see what the sniper rifle is like in ME3.

I quite liked Sniper Rifles in the first two games. It's the third game where I am put off them, thanks to the annoying ambient noises they added when zoomed in.

Plus the shieldgate mechanic which screws over anyone trying to use most of the one-shot sniper rifles on Insanity. To one-shot through shields, you need a sniper Infiltrator with Fortification and the Javelin, or Soldier/Infiltrator with Kishock (DLC gun). Any class could do it with the Kishock I suppose if you used Ashley's Disruptor Ammo, but she's gun for like 1/3 to 1/2 the game... or dead.

Bruno Shepard just completed the suicide mission. A recap:

  • Kasumi got vaporized in the engine room. I guess I forgot to upgrade those shields. Silly me.
  • Garrus got impaled by a girder. I never installed the Thanix cannon; I figured Garrus' calibrations on the default guns would have been enough.
  • Tali took a Harbinger biotic-ball to the face(mask). Who knew Zaeed was not a good fireteam leader?
  • Mordin got carried away by a seeker swarm. Miranda, I thought you said you could hold the bubble. Ohhhh, 'in theory' you said. My bad. Let's blame Mordin for not inventing a better countermeasure.
  • Miranda got crushed by a platform after we destroyed the Reaper Larvae. Now who is going to send reports to the Illusive Man?

Well, all Tech-using squadmates are now dead (and Legion given to Cerberus). Such a shame.

Hmmm. Bruno does not want to hand himself into the Alliance just yet. Guess he could always recruit that Thane guy, see what he's up to.

This highlights my problem with the Suicide mission, despite loving the concept; you have to actively try to get someone killed except for the last stand. Well actually you're right about Miranda's comment, though you should know Jack and Samara are best.

Just recruited Thane. Kind of funny how you still recruit Thane by saying you need his help to take down the Collectors. But on another note, completing his mission dropped me off at the entrance of Illium instead of on the ship; there was no argument between Jacob and Thane. Neat I guess.

Together with Jack and Mordin I went looking for Maelon who was held inside a hospital.

We got in there allright and met krogan of Clan Weyrloc, but they told us they won't allow us to interfere with a cure for the genophage. We took care of them and proceeded, eventually reaching Maelon... Turned out he didn't need our help. He was there voluntarily. He had committed experiments that upset Mordin a great deal, and I could just stop him in time before he could pull the trigger and kill Maelon. I sent Maelon running and told Mordin that the genophage was the right call, that krogan are dangerous, it's better they're kept in check. So we destroyed the cure and went back to the camp. I didn't even say goodbye to Wrex, I just didn't wanna talk about what had happened.

Back on the Normandy I had a quick chat with both Mordin and Grunt, to make sure they're allright. Grunt still seems aggressive, but told me he'd never stab me in the back. We'll see that. For now it seems I can trust him.

Thane wanted my help with his son next time we're on the Citadel, and then I talked to Jack again. Still hesitant, still unsure what all this means. Even I'm asking myself that sometimes, but I want her. And not only in one way...

She opened up about some guy she was with, told me about their past, that he saved her but got killed in the process. She never got over that it seems, I saw the tears in her eyes. I can't do anything about it, but I'll be there for her and spend more time with her. She seems surprised I want that. And then she called me a fucker for being agreeable, I like this girl.

Kelly said the Illusive Man wanted to speak to me, wonder what it'll be this time...

Pics!

Spoiler

I got stuck at one point during Mordin's mission and couldn't move, so I had to reload and play from the last auto-save. I hate when stuff like that happens. I also tried to melee a vorcha and it didn't work. Maybe because I suck. Or maybe because Jack's Pull got him out of the field, because he simply disappeared at some point, haha.

So far I love Jack's romance btw, can't wait to see this go any further. I love Jack's VA

Tomorrow I'll play the Collector Ship, tooootally looking forward to that!  :P I still haven't made up my mind about the new weapon, damn it.

Been playing a lot of ME1 lately. Haven't played ME in so long that I'm not tired of it, which is good. I mean I've only played through each ME game a billion times or so. Haha.

Anyway, Logan Shepard recruited a certain pretty asari and was instantly charmed by her bookish ways. After exploring about a dozen or so uncharted worlds and completing various missions, Shep and the gang decided they should probably go save those Feros colonists from the geth. He neutralized most of them with the anti-Thorian grenade, but tragically he was not able to save Arcelia or Ledra.

For some reason, I always accidentally kill Ledra on almost every playthrough. Poor stupid salarian, shouldn't be on a human colony anyway. And Arcelia apparently doesn't count toward the 16 colonists total. It stayed at 16 after killing her. Even the game doesn't like Arcelia. lol

That's odd. Jacob's not dead, so why not back on the ship? I guess that "go back to the ship" ending is there for mission timer purposes (i.e. 5 missions between Horizon and DCS).

A bit depressing how two of the most active thread here is still about people arguing about the ending. And in another bloody FemShep vs BroShep reddit, someone said to me its a matter of my opinion that Hale Shepard and Meer Shepard is different because they say the exact same line, both of them are the same.... sigh why I never get this male vs female VA thing in SWTOR? Once I get a guy playing a female character complimenting my toon looks and then he said he make his character to look like his wife.... which is really adorable. Even with trolls, people are surprisingly less ass**** about gender preferences in that game than in this game... why...?

Either way, I forgot to recruit Allers and I already did tuchanka..... RIP IGN woman.

I finally bit the bullet and completed a Renegade run yesterday. While I did choose Renegade options in past games, I was mostly Paragon.

There were some interesting things that went down. I cured the genophage with Wreav as leader and Eve alive. I was impressed that I got an ending that sort of fit with what Eve said. I also let the quarians die and I also saw another interesting scene regarding that in the endings as well. I'm more impressed with this series each time I play it (even if the things that impress me are usually small).

I also bit the bullet and kept Ash alive on Virmire over Kaiden for once. I always choose Kaiden regardless of a male or female Shepard. I even romanced her on the renegade run. And honestly? Ash's romance is by far the weakest I have seen. Her arc in ME3 is kinda bad. On the Normandy she doesn't interact with anyone at all like Kaiden. She sits in the lounge doing nothing and saying almost nothing interesting. The drunk scene was only mildly funny. Even her romance scenes were unimpressive (even on the Citadel DLC). Also talking to her on the Normandy after the Leviathan DLC, she said NOTHING to me after nearly dying. I remember Tali and Kaiden had some words of concern after the mission.

Dunno, I've given Ashley two honest to god chances. I love tough soldier women. But Ash just kind of... sucks. Sorry Ash, never saving you again.

The Illusive Man sent me and my squad to investigate a Collector ship he had somehow discovered. Turned out it is the same as the one who shot down the Normandy two years ago and the same we encountered on Horizon.

What we found inside there was hard to see. Piles of dead humans, and countless of these pods we saw on Horizon. We also found out the Collectors were once Protheans, modified by the Reapers to use as tools. Horrible fate. But now they are our enemy.

Jack was convinced they target Earth, and I think she's right. We found the control panel, but then we were in trouble, it was a trap!

After a fight with the Collectors, EDI suggested the Illusive Man deliberately sent us in there, despite knowing it was a trap. I'm pissed. We'll see what he has to say about that.

Fighting our way through, we soon were on board the Normandy again and I had a chat with the Illusive Man. EDI was right, he knew. I was angry, but then I understood his position. I just hope this was the last time something like that happened. The crew and I talked about what to do next, knowing now we need a Reaper IFF, we could go and get it right away, but I want to build the team. We need to be strong for this mission.

I then had a friendly dinner with Kelly. Just what I needed after a stressful day. She suggested she'd take care of my fish tank and feed fish while I'm gone. That's cool. I'm gonna get some fish soon then.

Have another round of pics ;)

Spoiler

Okaaay, so I made 2 runs for the Collector Ship today, first with the Revenant. I had quite some trouble there, especially with the recoil and it felt so weird accuracy-wise. It was kinda tough to adept to that when I was used to the Vindicator so much.

I died one time at the platform section and twice during the next section, got swarmed by the abominations and another time I was out of cover trying to dodge Harby's attack and got shot down in the process by another Collector. Oh well. None of them are really the Revenant's fault, but I handled things a bit better with... the second run including the Vindicator and the Widow. I died during the platform section out of pure stupidity though... I thought the Collector wave was over once I had the 2nd Scion down. Uh. Nope. Stood with my back to the next platform, wondered where the shots came from and was dead a second later. It was hilarious

Also, my squad hat somehow decided my squad cryo ammo should be ignored. Jack had put on her Warp ammo automatically, but I didn't notice for some time. Are the squad ammo's reset when dying? I thought not.

Anyway, in the end, I decided in favor of the Widow. I'm not sure though if I will continue to use that or the Viper. I somehow actually like the Viper a lot which is also better under Hardened AR I think. Guess it is time for another test then at some point ;)

For now I am just happy the Collector Ship is done, hate that mission the same amount as Horizon (actually, all the Collector missions deserve my hate, haha).

I think next up is recruiting Tali, then Samara and then Miranda's loyalty. After that we'll see :)

Bruno Shepard;

1. Stopped Thane's son, Kolyat, from assassinating a corrupt, racist Turian politician.

2. Invoked his Spectre authority to remove a couple of Asari off the no-fly list.

3. Shut down a Blue Suns false distress signal on Sanctum.

4. Stopped Batarian pirates from completely destroying a colony; chose to save the spaceport instead of the capital city.

A few more side missions remain, but I will probably ignore those. Bruno is just about ready to hand himself in to the Alliance.
