It's quite strange how they handled Samara and Ardat-Yakshi in ME3. Didn't Samara say in ME2 that her daughters are the only ones she knows of and that they are extremely rare? But then in ME3 when Garrus is present she tells him that her daughters have lived in the monastery for centuries, so that's quite odd she used to think they are the only ones only a couple of months ago. Or maybe I missed some explanation about this whole issue :P

It definitely feels like a retcon. If Samara knew they were at the monastery, surely she knew there were others there as well? Although, given the fact she hadn't visited the place in forever, who knows? Maybe they were the only ones there at the time? Still, another inconsistency between ME2 and ME3 isn't a big surprise. :(

Didn't do anything ME2 related at all this weekend

Yesterday I was in the mood for Dragon Age: Inquisition, so I started my female elf, and whenever Iron Bull speaks, James breaks through at times. Freddie Prince Jr.'s voice is much deeper as Bull, but you can still hear it sometimes, the way he pronounces some things, hehe. It's quite funny, for me anyway :)

So then today I popped in ME3 and did all of James's dialogue for the Ardat-Yakshi Monastery. I was amazed I could finish it up, I thought I needed Samara dead, but a non-import game was enough to get everything.

Aaaand once again, James shows off his sophisticated way of talking. Another round of "Sh*t" and an f-bomb

And a fun one:

On the one hand, it's implied in the conversation between Samara and her daughters, found in the Lair of the Shadow Broker DLC, that she doesn't keep in touch with them once she goes hunting for Morinth. On the other hand she does say that her daughters are the only one she know about. If she's spent the last several hundred years hunting an Ardat-Yakshi, you'd think she would become aware of more if they were found or even meet and deal with them. She'd follow a lead and find it was a different A-Y, not Morinth.

So my last playthrough, Bruno Shepard, was the first time I think I ever played through all three games consecutively with the same Shepard.

So on to my next Shepard, David Shepard.

From the journal of David Shepard:

Did not have the best of days today. It started out well, before spiraling out of control.

We were still testing the Normandy. I am still in the dark about what is special about this ship. I know it is a joint human-Turian design, but a lot of it is still classified to me.

We just jumped through a Mass Relay when Anderson called me to meet him in the comm room. Nihlus, the Turian Spectre was there waiting for us. We were going to Eden Prime. Never been there myself, but it was Corporal Jenkins' home planet. Anderson said that we were going there to pick up a Prothean Beacon. No idea what kind of secrets it held, but it was big.

And then Nihlus said I was being considered to join the Spectres, and that he would be observing me in action over several missions. This would be our first mission; an easy mission sure, but even N7 marines do a lot more than just shoot bad guys.

And that was the last good thing that happened that day.

We got an emergency message on the comm. Eden Prime was under attack by unknown assailants. The video caught a glimpse of a ship. From the angle we saw, it looked a bit like a giant hand. We geared up to go planetside. Nihlus went off ahead on his own, while I took Kaidan and Jenkins.

We had barely landed when we noticed some burnt bodies on a rock. Recognizing the need for caution, I waved Jenkins on ahead. Jenkins moved in too quickly and did not stick to cover; he was gunned down seconds later by some sort of recon drone. Kaidan and I took it more cautiously and took out a few more drones before we came across another soldier running from some robots.

After taking care of the robots, we stopped to talk and found out her name was Ashley Williams. She was the leader of the 212, but her squad had been ambushed by the mechs (I recall now that it was her shouting orders in the distress call we had received.) She believed that the mechs were Geth. The Geth had been created by a race called the Quarians about 300 years ago, before becoming sentient and driving the Quarians off their homeworld. I am not sure if they were Geth or not, but they were certainly not like any security mechs I had ever seen before.

Taking Williams with us, we headed for the dig site. We passed some dead colonists on the way; the Geth had stuck them on spikes. At first I thought it was some kind of warning, like ancient civilizations had done when they stuck heads on pikes. But we came across some later that had been turned into... husks, mindless machine zombies. It was horrible.

Luckily we did manage to come across a few survivors. Some scientists had managed to hole up in a shelter, as did some farmers. We also saw that alien ship take off. I have never seen a ship like that before. It did not look like a hand, but some sort of... I don't know. The closest equivalent I could find was a cuttlefish, an aquatic species native to Earth.

We also came across Nihlus' body. He had been shot in the back of the head. At first I thought the Geth had killed him, but a dock worker said some other Turian named Saren had shot him. Apparently Saren and Nihlus knew each other.

The beacon had been moved to the spaceport, so we took a tram to the spaceport. Geth had been setting up explosive charges around the spaceport. We had to dodge incoming fire while disarming the bombs, but we managed to do it with only a few scrapes. That was a tough fight. I saw the beacon; it looked intact. Beyond it was the place where that spaceship had landed and took off. It was a giant smoking crater.

The beacon had been activated and was glowing. I called in to the Normandy. Williams must have gotten curious and decided to take a closer look. When I looked up, I noticed her struggling; the beacon was pulling her in! I managed to throw her clear, but then I got sucked in,.. or up or something. I saw images flash through my mind, like some sort of vision or waking dream before I blacked out.

I woke up later in the Normandy's med bay. Apparently the beacon had exploded, knocking me unconscious for about 15 hours or so. I still have a minor headache from it. Anderson came in and dismissed everyone from the room while he debriefed me. Apparently what he was about to tell me was classified beyond their security clearance level. He told me that Saren was a Spectre, one of their top agents, and that he hates humans. He told me we were headed to the Citadel, to see if we could convince the council that he had gone rogue so they would revoke his Spectre status and be brought to justice. He also told me that he was bringing Ashley Williams on to the team. She was a good soldier; I think she will fit in nicely.

We should be at the Citadel soon. I am going to head off to see Joker now. I have never been to the Citadel. I wonder what it is like.

P.S. N7 is supposed to be the very best of the Human Alliance, but apparently they outfit us with crap. Not even half an hour on Eden Prime and I find better armor and weapons. What's up with that? And what am I supposed to do with Turian and Krogan armor? I think I might convert it into Omni Gel.

Got a call from Admiral Hackett, one of their spy drones was shot down while trying to monitor Geth activity in the Attican Beta.
He wanted us to try and recover the drones data module.
We dropped in the Mako to the surface of Eletania. We immediately picked up an anomaly just to the east of the drop zone, and went to check it out.
It was a Prothean ruin, and Liara was keen to investigate further.
Spoiler

As I touched the strange globe, it rose up, on the underneath was an unusual shaped slot, like the shape of the trinket Shi'ala gave me.
I said, maybe I should stick this in the hole.
Liara said, It's not as simple as that pet, you can't just stick things in.
These are very sophisticated devices, and should only be handled by an experienced professional, like myself.
When I jammed the trinket into the slot, I got a vision of sorts, but it was hard to understand, and then I collapsed.
Liara said, are you alright poppet? I said, Oh Liara it was horrible, I had all hair on the back of my hand.
She said, do you remember anything else pet? It could be important.
I said, no, that's it, just the hair.
Spoiler

We found the surveillance drone, but it appears that monkeys had made off with the data module.
Spoiler

I track the monkeys to an old mine site. I frisk a few outside, but the planets hazardous conditions see us having to enter the mine itself.
More monkeys inside, but so far, not the module thief.
There's some good gear inside the mine. I'm not sure who owns it, but if they still wanted it, they wouldn't have left such light encryption on the containers.
Then right at the end of the mine, I corner a monkey. He throws the data module and does a runner. I give chase, but he's quicker than he looks.
Tali yells, we don't need the monkey, we've got the data module. Lucky for him too, cause I nearly had him.
Spoiler

On the way out of the mine, we were attacked by a fair number of Geth. The fighting was fast and furious
I quickly jumped behind a box and tried to get a screenshot off, but a screenshot of a box isn't that interesting, so I'm not including it in this report.

While scanning planets in the Ming system, we found the MSV Worthington drifting, engines cold. We go to investigate.
The ship is running only basic life support systems, but Then Wrex heard something, and thinks we're not alone.
Someone has jerry rigged some explosive canisters as proximity mines.
In the cockpit logs, they were discussing turning off life support for Jacob, a brain-dead crewman.
It sounded like they may have been killed by Julia, the mans biotic girlfriend.
When we played the logs in the med bay, Julia attacked us, and we killed her in self defense.
Spoiler

There was no indication of what killed Jacob, but he was already gone, so I turned off the life support system.
We returned to the Normandy, and notified the ships owners of it's location, and what we had found.

These are great side quests and I hope Bioware returns to them rather than "find random trinket and deliver to stranger who never asked you to get it."

The monkey one is just fun because the crew will comment if you kill one, but the other two make the galaxy feel lived in and interesting. I think there should have been more with the Prothean artifact though and it shouldn't have been gated behind handling the conversation with the Consort a certain way.

So tonight, Emma did this:

Spoiler

  • After the excellence of Mordin's loyally mission, this is a real come down. I used to reaslly like this mission but I have gone off it of late. Miranda's reasons don't really add up for me - she saved her sister (who for some reason looks nothing like her) from her Dad when she was 9 years old (she said she did it ten years ago, and she is 19). That doesn't add up to her being a baby, and must have been fairly traumatic. Also, TIM places the family in a secure place where he can keep an eye on them.. yet we know that her Dad is working for TIM. So TIM is basically screwing Miranda over here despite her being one of his most loyal operatives
  • I always wonder how Miranda introduces her to this sister she has (apparently) never introduced herself to, or who is aware of her. How the hell does that conversation go? And how can she be so protective over someone she has never even met? Going back to my first point, how can Miranda remove her sister from her father without asking whether it is what she wants? Isn't that the same as her father dictating to Miranda what she has to do? Hmm
  • Also, Miranda's tale of woe really comes across hollow. She is basically supposed to be a perfect human with no defects or have nothing she is not good at. Having her have father issues just doesn't ring true. If she was that much of a genius and super operative she just wouldn't give a ****. Trust me, I have a seriously fucked up mother and I've got over it - a lot of people have. She wants for nothing, doesn't need anything and can pretty much do what she wants - I get the feeling she needed a flaw to allow BroShep to sweep in and romance her by helping her with a vulnerability, so as not to have BroShep be pursued by this supremely confidant woman (who we see in the intro) and not be in control / be emasculated. That's just my opinion though obviously
  • Enyala's taunt doesn't really work with Miranda's alternate armour
  • I like the fact Enyala shoots Nicket anyway. Nice touch
  • I had forgotten that the actual level is actually surprisingly boring and easy. Unlike other Illium locations this is just a giant warehouse and adds nothing of flavour or diversity to the world. There isn't even any real meaningful choice to make or dialogue to hear
  • Of course, looking back at this mission through the eyes of Horizon really makes it even poorer
  • Not taking any renegade interrupts is killing me. They just make the game so much more amusing

Playing as a new femshep. I've completed up until Tuchanca in ME3. In this run, I wanted to do a few things different from my previous femshep run (who was mostly paragon, romance Kaiden and stay loyal, and choose destroy). This time I let Ash kill Wrex, I romanced Kaiden, but then went for Garrus in ME2, and dumped Kaiden. I was shocked that Kaiden actually gets mad at you if you lie to him. Then I killed Mordin on Tuchanca. But sadly I'm losing interest. I've gotten to the point where you meet the quarians. In Tali's loyalty mission, I turned over the evidence, and made sure Legion died on the collector base. I am curious to see how Tali's dialogue changes and how she interacts with the Geth VI. So far, she has just apologized for getting mad at Shepard in ME2.

But might quit the run after Rannoch as I'm just not feeling this run.

From the journal of David Shepard:

Well this day certainly took an interesting turn. I cannot believe I am a Spectre!

We went to the Citadel today. First time I have ever been there. The place is huge! I have been to a few Alliance space stations, but this dwarfs them all. Absolutely incredible! We stopped to see Ambassador Udina. We saw him as he spoke to the council over holo. Well I suppose "spoke" is being kind. He was angry and demanded action; I don't blame him. But they did agree to grant us an audience, so off we went.

On the way to the Council Chambers, I ran into a Turian C-Sec officer named Garrus. He had been investigating Saren and was trying to stall for more time. The Executor turned him down. Garrus said he had nothing solid on Saren, saying too much information was classified. He wished us luck.

Luck was not on our side. Saren had joined the hearing. He let out a few thinly-veiled insults, the council dismissed the testimony of the dock worker, and Udina was too hot-headed. Then Anderson tried to add my strange vision as evidence. I told him earlier that was a bad idea and I was right: they pretty much laughed it off.

Needless to say we lost the case, but we were all determined to see Saren brought to justice. We decided to go see if we could find Garrus again, see if he turned anything else up in his investigation. Udina suggested we find Garrus by talking with a guy named Harkin. Harkin was in Chora's Den, so we went there, only to be ambushed by a couple of Saren's men. Good to know that Saren still thinks of us as threat, I guess?

Anyway, we bumped into a Krogan named Wrex who was looking for Fist, the owner of the bar. We pushed us out of the way as he stomped out. Harkin was a complete ass, although he did tell us where to find Garrus, plus he said that Anderson used to be a Spectre. Garrus was at a clinic run by a Dr. Michel. Unfortunately for the doctor, she was being threatened by Fist's men. Lucky for her (and unlucky for the men) Garrus was already there, and we showed up to kill them before she was harmed. Dr. Michel told us that Fist was trying to get her to shut up about some Quarian. Garrus told us that Fist had betrayed the Shadow Broker and that the Quarian probably had evidence tying Saren to the Geth. We needed to get that Quarian.

Garrus wanted to take Saren down as asked to join us. I figured extra help would be nice, so I let him join. Garrus told us that the Shadow Broker had hired a Krogan mercenary named Wrex to kill Fist. This was the same Wrex we had bumped into earlier. He was at C-Sec so we paid him a visit and let him join us.

Fist was ready for us. His men were bunkered down in Chora's den, so we had to kill them all before confronting Fist himself. He surrendered before we could hurt him. He told us he had set up the Quarian and that she was headed into an ambush. Fist agreed to leave the Citadel, and we ran to go rescue the Quarian. Turned out she could protect herself in a fight, but she was outmatched so it was a good thing we came along. Turns out she did have evidence against Saren. She agreed to let us use it in exchange for saving her life.

The Ambassador was pleased at the evidence. The evidence was a data recording taken from a Geth's memory banks. It linked Saren to Eden Prime. There was another voice in the recording that said they were one step closer to the return of the Reapers. According to the Quarian -- her name was Tali -- the Geth believe the Reapers are an ancient race that wiped the Protheans out 50,000 years ago. My visions started making sense.

We presented the evidence to the council and this time they ruled in our favor. They revoked Saren's Spectre status and placed an arrest order on him. The Ambassador wanted him hunted down, but the council did not want to trigger a war with the Terminus systems. As a solution, they made me a Spectre and ordered me to go hunt him down!

I still can't believe it! I'm a Spectre! It's a big responsibility, and catching Saren will be difficult, but we have leads. Geth activity was reported on the colony of Feros, Saren was rumored to have a big investment on Noveria, and Matriarch Benezia (the other voice in the recording) had a daughter named Liara we could track down. Captain Anderson had also stepped down as captain of the Normandy and gave it to me. Anderson would now be working directly for Udina. As much as I hated no longer working for Anderson, I understood that it was necessary. Anderson also told me about his past with Saren: he had worked a job with Saren, and then Saren blamed the destruction of a factory and hundreds of civilian deaths on Anderson. What a guy.

I miss Jenkins. Jenkins wanted to see a Spectre in action, and now I am a Spectre. Shame he never got to see it. I wonder what he would think about working alongside a Turian, a Krogan, and a Quarian?

From the journal of David Shepard:

We began our hunt for Saren by trying to track down Liara. We went the Artemaus Tau cluster, where she was last seen. We did not find her in the first system we went to, but we did receive a distress beacon. It was left by Admiral Kahoku's men. Or rather, someone had left it and it was first answered by the men. The men were dead, attacked by a Thresher Maw, which then attacked us as we got closer. It brought back bad memories from Akuze. At least we had a tank this time. I will need to inform the Admiral about his missing men.

We found nothing at all in the next system.

I had a list of other assignments by now, so I headed over to check out this biotic commune I heard about; it had sounded suspicious. Then Admiral Hackett called and told me just how dangerous it was: Major Kyle was suffering from PTSD after the assault on Torfan all those years ago. Now he had set up a cult for biotics who felt disenfranchised with society. The Alliance had sent in a team to bring Kyle in, but they never returned, likely killed by Kyle's followers. Hackett wanted me to go check it out. Luckily, I managed to talk Kyle into surrendering peacefully. Hopefully, the Alliance can treat Kyle with his disorder.

Next, I went to go see about a crime boss Helena Blake told me about, but found a a freighter drifting alone in space. Inside, we found a bunch of booby traps and a brain-dead patient still on life support. We listened to some logs. Apparently the man had died somehow and his girlfriend was distraught over it. They gave her some meds and planned to shut the life support off. Unfortunately, the woman rejected the meds, then went completely crazy and killed everyone on board. She then came out of hiding and tried to kill us, so we were forced to kill her in self defense. Poor thing.

Still don't know if I should go back and continue the search for Liara or go to Noveria.

You better go after Liara. My Shepard is on Noveria at the moment and it would be too spooky if we ran into each other.

From the journal of David Shepard:

I'm exhausted. I decided to go back to the Artemis Tau cluster to see if we could locate Liara. We finally managed to locate her signal on a planet called Therum. There was some kind of interference, so we could not locate her exact location, and because of the terrain Joker had to drop us off well back of the suspected location.

Apparently she was located somewhere near an active volcano. Joker is a good pilot and he managed to avoid dropping us off in lava (because that would have sucked). But on route, Some Geth dropships starting dropping off Geth troops to stop us. Silver lining: that meant Liara was still alive, but not for much longer. We had to hurry.

We finally made it to the location: Prothean ruins inside an active volcano. The Protheans must have been harnessing the volcano's geothermal energy to power the structure before they went extinct. We made our way inside the volcano through a mineshaft, probably set up by Liara and her research team. Inside, the structure was falling apart, but most of it was still surprisingly intact. Prothean structures sure were made to last. The Citadel and the mass relays are prime examples of Prothean engineering.

We encountered more Geth inside. I was worried that we were too late, but we finally found Liara. She was trapped in some sort of security stasis field; when the Geth attacked, she had accidentally sealed herself inside. It prevented the Geth from getting her, but it also prevented her from moving. We managed to rig a mining laser to cut through some rock to get around and the took an elevator up to Liara to free her. Unfortunately, all the activity after years of disrepair was causing instability and the structure to collapse. And I did mention that the structure was built inside an active volcano.

I radioed Joker to come pick us up, then we took an elevator ride back up to the surface, but before we could leave, a rather big Krogan and some more Geth showed up. I really wished I had brought Wrex. The Krogan wanted Liara; Saren wanted her alive. Fat chance.

We fought. The Krogan was tough. He took out both Tali and Kaidan before I finally took him down. I finished mopping up the Geth, then managed to get Tali and Kaidan back to their feet and we ran out of there. The Prothean ruins completely collapsed soon after we got out.

Back on the Normandy, we had a debriefing. Liara is rather young for an Asari, being just over 100 years old. I did not know Asari could live to be 1000 years old. Neat. She told us she is a Prothean researcher and archeologist, one of the foremost experts on the Protheans. She also mentioned that through her studies she has determined that Protheans were not the first dominant race to go extinct, rather they were the latest in a series of extinction cycles. I told her about the Reapers. She seemed surprised but appeared to believe me.

Admiral Hackett called. He wants me to take care of a rogue VI on Luna, Earth's moon, that suddenly killed some marines during a training exercise. It sounds serious, so I am going to head there next.

Things got off to a bad start on Noveria.
Spoiler

But then, things were looking up.
Spoiler

She said her name was Parasini, and she was the Administrator's assistant.
Shepard: Has anyone passed through here lately that sort of, stood out?
Parasini: Matriarch Benezia passed through here a few days ago, parts of her certainly stood out.
Liara: My mother is here?
Shepard: Do you know where she went?
Parasini: Peak 15, but if you want to go there, you'll need a pass from Administrator Anoleis. Is there anything else I can help you with?
Shepard: Well you could share some of that lip gloss with the Shepster, if you get my drift. wink wink.
Parasini: Ahh...Let me get back to you on that one.

Anoleis didn't want to help, but Parasini told us we might get a pass from Lorik Qui'in.
Qui'in just wanted us to retrieve some data from his office computer, in exchange for his pass card.
A few guards attacked us when we got the data. I don't know why. It was Qui'ins own computer and he gave us the key.
When we came out of the office, Parasini was there, and wanted to meet me in the bar, before we met with Qui'in.
I knew that "Let me get back to you on that one" was a ploy. She's wet for me.
So we hurry to the bar, and a woman who looks exactly like Parasini, says let me introduce myself, Parasini, Internal Affairs.
I said I'd like to stay and chat, but I agreed to meet your sister here, you know, the Administrators assistant. We've got a hot date planned.
She looked at me real disappointed like. Then I thought maybe she could join us, she's not as hot as her sister, but she's alright.
Then Tali said, Don't worry, she's always like that. What can we do for you?
So then the sister says, she wants us to get Qui'in to rat on Anoleis, and then she'll give us a pass card.
I said alright, as long as we're quick, cause I've still got that date lined up.
Spoiler

So I convinced Qui'in to testify, then went and told the Internal Affairs officer.
She arrested Anoleis, then said she owes me a beer. I said, listen, if you see you sister, tell her I had to go and do important Spectre stuff.
She said, your one of a kind Shepard.
With the pass card in hand, we head for the garage, only to be attacked by Geth. A short fight and then into the Mako.
Liara said, we are really going to see my mother. I said, don't worry babe, I'll protect you.
She said, It's not that, it's...Oh never mind.

The road to the Peak 15 factory, was slippery and lined with Geth.
I had some good driftin stuff happening on the curves, but then the Geth hit our left flank and tried to run us in to the wall.
I let them have it with the M35's machine gun. I said, you think your gonna run in a Spectre.
With the last heavy turret down, we entered the facility.
Inside, there were Geth and Krogan. Tali took point, with Liara and I in a support role, Liara lifted, and I separated.
Then we came across a few of those Aliens, we had seen on Cerberus base B52.
The first one wasn't moving, and I thought it was a rock, but it wasn't a rock, it was a Rock... Lobster. Well that's what we called them anyway.
Spoiler

The place was overrun with the over-sized crustaceans, and the main power was down.
Tali done some techy stuff and got the very attractive Mira, up and running.
Spoiler

I laid on the old Shepard charm, and she told us everything we needed to know. We had to get the reactor core back on-line, and Reconnect the landlines.
First we went to the roof, took out a few Aliens, and Tali connected the landlines. Then blasted a few Geth before Tali fixed the Helium-3 fuel lines.
Spoiler

Mira then told us we would have to repair the plasma vents, to clear the creatures from the next passage.
With the facility up and running, we could take the tram to Rift Station.
There we met a Doctor Cohen.
He told me if I don't go into a plague filled room, read their notes, and formulate a complex vaccine, then the scientists will die.
Liara said, what did he say? He said the scientist are going to die.
Anyway, we found Liaras' Mum, She was talking with Liara one minute, and then Bam, slapped a stasis field on me while I was still drooling.
Then leather clad Asari came from everywhere, and Geth, yeah there was Geth too. What a sh!tstorm. I don't know how we survived, but we did.
Then Liaras' Mum said, I'm not myself, Saren is controlling my mind. I can only break free for a short time. Take these co-ordinance to a lost Mass Relay.
Then her bosom pulsated with a magnificent blue glow, and it was on again, but only briefly. Her life force spent, Liara called to her to hold on.
She said, You've always made me proud little wing, and slumped to the floor.
Spoiler

I left Liara to grieve, and went to examine the giant Rock Lobster in the tank. Then she animated a dead Asari Commando to speak through.
I couldn't understand most of it, she said something about her music. I said, alright I'll let you go, and you can Roam if you want to.
I said to Liara, I'm not sure how far she'll get, without wings, without wheels.
Spoiler

Then we just wanted to get out the place.
Coming through the hot labs we met Yaroslev Tartakovsky, he told us that the thing I just set free was a Rachni Queen.
I said, Oh, that can't be good.
He said we have to kill all the Rachni with a Neutron Purge, and was just about to give me the code, when a Rachni skewered him.
We killed the Rachni and retrieved the code from his body. Then told Mira to initiate the Neutron Purge.
We hit the tram, and then got off that rock.

Back on the Normandy:
I went to see how Liara was feeling after what happened with Benezia.
Joanne: Are you OK Liara, about Benezia I mean?
Liara: I'm alright Shepard, I'll remember her the way she was, not what Saren turned her into.
Joanne: You know there's a saying back on Earth, that if you want to know what your girlfriend will end up like. look at her mother.
I see fun times ahead Liara.
Liara: I know there are rumors of Asari promiscuity, but they have little basis in fact Joanne.
For us, the union is much more than just the physical thing, it is a great spiritual.....
Joanne: Yeah, but physical too right?
Liara: Well yes, but that is not the truly amazing part. It's a very Mystical joining of our being, that is why I have....
Joanne: Wait, are you saying you've never done it before?
Liara: I'm only 101 Joanne, barely an adult, and until I met you, I had never considered a partner.
I got the impression that it might be your first time too Joanne.
Joanne: Me! Ha, I've had tons of women. If loose lips sink ships, I could take out an Armada, don't worry about that.
Ha, first time for the Shepster.
Liara: It's nothing to be embarrassed about Joanne.
Joanne: I'm not embarrassed, it's just hot in here, Adam's must have turned up the heat or something.
Liara: We don't have to do anything right now Joanne, Maybe after we stop Saren, the time will be right for us.
Joanne: Right... right, we're in no hurry. ( Phew, I think I got away with it, and she'll have no-one to compare me with.)
Spoiler

*** It just occurred to me , there may be some here too young to remember the B52's, they can google Roam and Rock Lobster.

Kaidan: Those tiles remind me of a bathroom floor.

Ashley: Shepard!

Shepard: [In a corner squatting on a toilet] Hey! A little privacy, please?

Glad I'll be starting my new full story playthrough now that my mission order is completely (well, mostly) set up for maximum story cohesion.

It is not a retcon. The Codex entry (which Samara never read) clearly indicates that there are many Ardat-Yakshi out there and that, in fact, there is an Ardat-Yakshi spectrum. One is not just a complete soul-sucker or nothing. Rather there are a range of manifestations. Furthermore, Patriarch mentions the monastery you will visit in ME3. According to him, that is where Asari honey mead is made by a bunch of "crazy blue women."

This sounds like something I would post. LOL    or maybe considering the circumstances

In that case, it's just bad writing for Samara's dialogue. How would she not know about the others who are there if even someone like Patriarch does? The asari supposedly keep the existence of AY's super-secret.

From the journal of David Shepard:

I went to Earth's moon, Luna, today. It was a lot sunnier than I imagined. Still cold though. Not sure exactly what caused the VI to go crazy and kill all those marines, but I managed to put a stop to it. The kinetic barriers and poison gas it activated were minor nuisances. The automated turrets outside were dangerous but fairly manageable. But those freaking drones were a nightmare. Luckily I managed to get shut down the VI by destroying a bunch of its conduits. Hopefully the Alliance technicians can figure out what went wrong.

I went back to the Citadel to tell Admiral Kohaku that bad news about his men. He thanked me and told me he would get in touch if he needed anything else. Back on the Normandy, he gave me call. He had paid the Shadow Broker to get information and had discovered that a group called Cerberus had done it. Apparently this Cerberus group used to be an Alliance Black Ops group before disappearing. Never heard of them until now, but its called Black Ops for a reason. He found a location for this Cerberus group and gave me the location. He also said that Cerberus was after him and he needed to go into hiding.

I had some time, so I went to the location he gave me. It was a remote uncharted planet. Cerberus had set up some bases there. They were fortified with turrets and some well-armed small teams. They did not go down easy; I had to use a lot of medi-gel.

But the experiments they were running... According to their computers, they were running tests on Rachni and something called Thorian Creepers. I thought the Rachni had been extinct for about a thousand years after the Krogan wiped them out. The information we downloaded from their computers did not say where they got these creatures. I can only assume they were shipped in from somewhere else, possibly the main base of operations we discovered from one of the logs.

Sadly, we also found Admiral Kohaku dead, captured and killed by this Cerberus group.

Looks like we are going to go hit the main Cerberus base, then head off to Noveria next. Hopefully after taking down Cerberus I will have enough credits to buy that Medical Exoskeleton mod from Dr. Michel that I have my eye on. I did not have enough money after I bought that sweet pistol from the Requisitions Officer. I never did catch his name.

Well I recruited Kasumi, and did her loyalty mission. I thought I was taking lots of great screen shots, but when I looked, I only had one.
I must have been pressing F11 again. I'm a bit slow, and it always takes me time to adjust to the switch.
I keep trying to open doors with the E key.
My only screenie, I'm not even sure where it's from.
